Medical Update: Major News!
Posted a year agoHi guys! I wanted to inform you about the recent developments in my medical venture.
I received a call from my new surgeon's office yesterday about a possible cancellation from another patient, so now my surgery date has been moved from Aug 12 to Jul 9! This means I will be going under the knife next Tuesday, and after that, I will have an extensive rest period ranging for around 3 weeks where I will be unable to sit. This means I will have to invest in a standing desk to further complete commissions, but please understand I might be slow when it comes to making progress!
I will try to update as much as possible about my healing process : D I'm super excited for this!! This doctor is approaching my care in a whole other direction, one that seems really promising. However, it will be a very hard and taxing surgery with a lot of relocated skin, so please wish me best for my recovery!!

I'm going to be doing these a bit different, however, due to recent events. Slots are free to be claimed, and we can discuss commission plans in notes or DMs on Discord, but I will not be taking payment until I have a moment to work on them! Posted a year agoDon't worry, I haven't disappeared! I've been focusing on commissions coming from twitter mostly, but rest assured I will still be active here! This month has been hard so far to tackle large projects on FA because I lost my great grandmother and NSFW hasn't been as appealing to draw while I've been mourning.

One More Health Update
Posted a year agoHey all, I wanted to come forward with what's been going on with me medically lately.
For those who have just started following me, I have been dealing with a medical situation for 3 years and counting. What was once a minor cyst problem on my tail bone, has turned into something far larger that has resulted in me undergoing 5 surgeries - all failed. As it currently stands, my surgical site, which remains open and expanding in size, is severely infected. I have done all I can on a day-to-day basis to keep this wound site clean and hygienic, but there is only so much control I can have over it. It should be noted that for the majority of the time I have dealt with this issue, the wound has leaked drainage with off-color pigment and suspicious smell. Lately, however, this has increased 10 fold. What was once a milky white fluid has become an almost highlighter yellow and muddy brown [depending on how much blood is present]. Additionally, due to the level of infection, the wound now reeks strongly and the smell is very hard to get off of clothes and bed sheets. I would describe it smelling almost cheese-like. But rancid.
I have been documenting the progression of my wound on a monthly basis, and recently, last Monday, I visited an urgent care because my closest GP appointment is next month to discuss future plans. We took a culture swab of the area, as well as inside the wound itself for testing. I mentioned before here that I had worries I could be contracting MRSA due to levels of S. Aureus found in my previous culture results from my former surgical office. I'm happy to say that neither MRSA nor S. Aureus has been found on this swab. However, I do have suspicious levels of cocci, bacilli, and white blood cells all present within the wound.
I have actually become ill due to this infection, and have been exhibiting cold-like symptoms. Thankfully, I don't have a fever. However, there has been a major health concern in regards to my culture results that has been brought to my attention - and it is the fact that the swab has found [scant] traces of Bacteroides Vulgatus.
Bacteroides Vulgatus is a beneficial bacteria [meaning its healthy and helps the human body] that is found within the digestive system - i.e, stomach, intestines, and especially the colon to be specific. Why is this so concerning? Well, BV is isolated, meaning that it doesn't leave the digestive system unless unnatural events take place. This means that there is a potential tunnel/tract from my surgical site on my tail bone to my digestive system. Now, when this whole thing first began, during my consultation with my first surgeon, we conducted an ultrasound to determine if this hole had "punched through" my intestinal wall, so to speak. This is due to the fact that with pilonidal sinus issues, there is a very likely chance this can occur. AT THE TIME, the results came back negative - but remember - this was 3 years ago. If it is true I am suffering from a tunnel to my digestive system, then effectively, my wound is leaking stomach fluid, TLDR.
Urgent care has urged me to contact a surgeon ASAP, which I will do my best to carry out given the fact I do not see my GP until April - and the fact that the hospital I will be applying for is referral only.
I will be forced to undergo extensive surgery and further testing, which means I might struggle to post and reply within a timely manner.
I write this to say thank you for being so patient with me and to inform you all why I've been so distant. I have been so ill due to this situation it has put a serious toll on my mental health and artistic performance.

Hiatus Update!

I've been recovering much faster than I expected, and I think a haitus is no longer needed! :D I have some comms lined up this week for posting, and on Thursday I'll be heading out of state to Arizona for Christmas! I'll be coming back on Monday, so I'll be taking care of a good chunk of art before I leave. My final post before vaycay should be on Wednesday. Once I get back I'll be working hard until new years!!

Potential Hiatus
Posted 2 years agoSigh.. I might need to go on hiatus from commissions for a little bit only to get a handle on the stress I've been experiencing. I finally managed to get both my records and my medication, so I'm officially starting treatment. However, the mental pain of worrying if it'll even work or how effective it will be has been a lot to deal with lately and I think I need some time to myself. I have a couple [like 3] comms I am planning to get to before this hiatus, and once I poof out of existence for a bit, I might return in the new year.

Posted 2 years agoHello all. As many of you know, who have been here with me for the past two years, I have been dealing with a medical issue that has high persistence and has cost me 5 surgeries [and counting]. Recently, this situation has taken a very serious turn and now my life is at risk.
To update you all, this year I took part in a culture test for the wound on my tailbone, which was taken around October 28/29, so about a month ago now. This was done during my last visit with my second surgeon before I decided to switch doctors due to financial problems. The doctor told me the culture results would be ready within the week and to check back that Thursday. I had called the doctor when it came time and was told the results hadn't arrived yet, which was understandable since it was taking the lab a bit longer than expected. The office then told me they would contact me that coming Monday to discuss the results. This was the last communication between me and the surgical office for several weeks, and during the blank period, I was on 3 weeks of Augmentin. On November 22nd, I had called the office with concern that I hadn't received my results, and I was told quite bluntly that I was not allowed access to these results unless I made an appointment. As I mentioned, I was having financial issues which prevented me from doing just that, so I was alarmed to learn this office for whatever reason would not allow me to get my results from them unless I gave them money.
It is strictly stated by California law that patients are REQUIRED to receive medical records from doctors offices upon request, in addition to HIPAA law stating the same. This means that effectively, this office was actively breaking the law. This back and forth between me and the office, many times of which had me begging, has lasted until time of writing this. I have been given many excuses and conditions by this god awful office, such as "fax only, only in person exchange, 50$ payment is required for doctor's signature, etc". Yesterday, I was actively LIED to by office staff on the status of my doctor as well. I was told that as of 2PM, he was still seeing patients when in actuality, another receptionist confirmed for me he hadn't been in office since 12.
It took this doctor until 6PM to call me back to confirm that his practice had been withholding crucial information from me that my life hinges on - I have an antibiotic resistant infection. At this moment, this infection has the potential to turn into MRSA, which can kill me. And this office sat on this information for a month.
I write this to inform you I might be slower than usual when it comes to commissions due to the mental strain this has been putting on me, although I will remain working to my best ability.

Update On My Health

My health has declined quite a lot, and unfortunately I can no longer get surgery from my current doctor. This means my issue will not be resolved this year, and I will need to extend my wait time until the new year for a new doctor.
I have pretty much given up hope my problems will be resolved at this point. Harsh needle like pain and bleeding on the daily are now a regular occurrence for me. My family is now out thousands of dollars for trying to help me, and I don't really feel like myself anymore.
I have a duty to complete my commissions though, so I will. Thanks for being patient.

I just want you to please be aware that there is a possibility of me losing power due to Hilary, so if it happens, I wont be able to get commissions to people for an X period of time. I am merely an 1 hr 45 outside of LA, which is going to be right in the middle of the tropical storm for Sunday.

A Rebranding

Posted 2 years agoI had unexpected company for a week, which prevented me from working on comms while they were here. Rest assured though that starting this week I will be tackling my waitlist! So sorry for all the delay, everything happened so suddenly all at once.

Posted 2 years agoSo, I'm trucking along! However, I've recently run out of medication that I need to properly function, and it has caused me to get very few hours of sleep during the night. Lately I've been going down around 7AM and sleeping restlessly.
I say this because I might not be able to get out comms by the end of this month - at max the first week of July. Just wanted to keep you updated! I get my new meds on Monday, so once I start sleeping well I'll be able to get back on being a well-oiled machine.
