So how is one able to ddos?
Posted 11 years agoI get what a ddos does and how it brings down servers and sites, what I don't get is how someone sets a ddos attack up.
You see while I'm not a complete neanderthal with tech, I am by no means a hacker in any form. What I'm given to understand about hackers, trying to ignore a lot of the romanticised stuff you see on TV, is that being one requires a considerable amount of know-how and more than a little intelligence, and for some things a fair bit of powerful hardware, purchased or even custom made.
This is stuff I don't imagine is readily found in your average butt hurt hater, and yet I've heard of such attacks being done at the behest of such people, so how do they do it? Where do they get the resources? Do they hire someone? And if so how much would that cost them and for how long? Or is ddos so easy to do that a plankton with a keyboard adapter and a bit of money could do it, and so effective that that is why we're seeing it happen more often?
I genuinely want to know, and I post so few journals of any note anyway, if any of my few watchers want to bring people they think would know into this that'd be cool :)
Regards, Ironclad

Hope everyone had a good easter
Posted 11 years agoI really should try and submit more regular journals rather than let the "Merry Christmas" one sit there months on end. I have very few watchers but I'm sure they'd apresiate knowing I'm not dead or completly neglectfull of my journals. :)
Merry Yule!

TF Clinic by the wonderfull Foxydragon!
Posted 12 years agoA very good friend of mine
is doing a TF Clinic website, if your into TF and like the idea of this clinic, please read on :)
The Clinic is a place that through the latest in Transpecies Morphology let's you finally match who you are on the inside with your outside, Though the prices are reasonable for this service they at The Clinic understand that it can be hard to scrape together the funds for such an operation. But fear not because they have a monthly lottery to decide who will be the lucky person to receive crowdfunding for their operation!
This is where the original aspect comes in, If you have an idea for a sequence that you would love to see drawn by the awesome
but can't afford it in one go you could win the lottery to see if the public contribute to the cause. I for one think this is a great idea as I certainly want to see more TF in this style but also even if I contribute as little as £1 I can help keep this great art coming!
TF wasn't originally my primary interest, more something I've come to like over time, largely due to good artists like Foxydragon showing me what it's like when it's done well and I have to say this is good stuff, so if you want treatment for yourself or if you want to see what the latest crowdfunded sequence is. My take on the Indoctrination Theory for ME3
Posted 13 years agoThis was original a reply I made on someone's Journal but I felt like putting it hear as a new journal as I don't up-date it often enough: -
Indoctrination made sense to me. I actually bothered to listen/read a lot of the descriptive fluff ME1-3 gives you throughout the games. With that and a little intelligence you can figure out whats actually happening to Shep at the end. Granted it doesn't fully explain everything to me, and just because I read the fluff doesn't mean I caught all the plot points or twists that may or may not have been intended.
I think Indoctrination is the most sold and reasoned out explanation. Especially as nearly all the arguments against it seemed to be built on primarily just personal opinion, rage, assumption and very little actual research. The people arguing for Indoctrination make better, more informed points against there own arguments than those who are against it, and they still don't overshadow the Indoctrination Theory.
But, like many, this is only my opinion, and I recognize that I and a lot of people, might be reading too much into this and Bioware have simply fallen from grace, but it seems unlikely. Rapping everything up in DLC does seem a little daft to me, wish the industry would actually let game developers release finished games.
