I'll be in the Artist's Alley or the Zoo for the entire convention, unless I'm sleeping.
Where are you staying?
I am NOT in the con hotel this year! My room is also full up, and will probably be deserted for the entire convention anyway, like I said.
Who will you be with?
I'm rooming with my boyfriend and my best friend,

, respectively. I plan spending a lot of time with

Do you do free art?

Do you do trades?
Possibly, if I'm not too busy! Don't be afraid to ask.
Do you do commissions?
Yes! I'm going to be taking as many commissions as I can possibly fit this year, because money is so tight. Conbadges are my specialty! I may have to turn down some Sketches in favor of bigger things, this year, though, so if you want something make sure you get to me on Friday or Saturday!
Do you do badges?
Like I said, badges are my specialty. I'll be doing 3 different types this year: $2 quickie badges, $20 normal badges, and $30 deluxe badges. (Minimum prices.)
Will you have art in the Art Show? General or Adult sections?
Yes! All of my art will be G-Rated. This year I have several paintings on both wood and canvas, and a few painted glass bottles. There is a collab beween me and Farore under her name in the Adult area as well.

Can I invite you out for food/fun/etc?
I'll always appreciate offers, but it's likely that I'll be too busy to come. I spend most of my time at conventions working!

Only if we've pre-planned something in private, sorry! Every time I've been involved with large spontaneous group food gatherings at conventions, bad things happen. Like I said, I probably won't be eating out anywhere anyway.

WHAT DO I LOOK LIKE?
I'm a short, scruffy-looking mongrel with a half-assed mohawk and purple glasses. I tend to wear oversized hoodies and dark colors. I'm 5' tall and 110lbs, and my hair is dark brown. My official badge will probably say "TECHNO", though my AA sign and some of my art badges also say "ROBOCOON". I have a big fluffy purple-and-black-with-white-tip tail, though I might not have it on all the time.

Bring me VISUAL REFERENCE for your characters!! This is a big one! I have a much easier time drawing a character that I can -see-. I have a really difficult time turning a paragraph of text into a picture-- I'm a visual thinker. I guarantee you that if you bring me a picture of your character, the result will be much more pleasing!
Look through my sketchbooks! I'll have a big stack of them there, as well as a binder marked "SAMPLES"! I didn't really have enough time to get an official "sample" binder together this year, so I have the old one from last year and then a bunch of my newest stuff just out in the sketchbooks I carry with me.

Harass me in fursuit. Just because you're in a fursuit doesn't mean that you can get away with crap that would bother me if you were in street clothes. Be normal.
Avoid standing in front of my table unless you're commissioning me or looking at my stuff. The Alley is a place for work-- if you want to have a long talk about something, catch me in the Zoo later!
Absolutely do not sneak up on me, hug me from behind, or startle me in any way. I will freak out and possibly hurt you or myself. I get scared very easily and it takes a long time for me to "come down" from being scared, so if you startle me, it's a good way to make me mad at you for a good while.
Don't hit on me. At all. Ever. Period.

free art -- i need your help!

I can't handle being in a scary loud public place without something to distract me and keep me calm. The good news is that I still have some CDs... My dilemma is that I haven't had a CD Player in years. So...
If you can get a portable CD player in my hands BEFORE or DURING MFF, I will draw you a one-of-a-kind SUPER ULTRA DELUXE laminated conbadge!! What's special about these is that they're 2x the size of my normal Deluxe badge, they come laminated and with a lanyard strap AND clip, and are much more detailed than usual!
The CD player can be the ugliest piece of crap around-- all I ask is that it's in working condition, and won't fall apart on me half way through the trip. If it can play MP3 CDs, that would be a bonus!!
This is only good for ONE person, of course. Please do -not- assume that I am going to take your offer until I tell you so! If I take your offer, you'll know! I don't want to end up with 934582 cd players XD

I'm only going to do this if there's interest, though. (I would open up after I get these $2 sketches up, and also after I finish Luca's 2char full color pic-- hi luca). grieving. / commission update.
Posted 17 years agookay, I've gotten notes from 5 people, so here we go-- I had a huge personal loss at the beginning of this week. I found out that my cat Lucy, who I had since I was 4 years old, grew up with, and loved with all my heart, disappeared. My mother thinks she was eaten by a coyote, or died in the woods, but they can't find her remains anywhere. Anyone that knew her knows that she wasn't the type of cat to disappear for long periods of time. She's gone. I didn't write anything here because I put a message on my livejournal, but it occurred to me that most of you probably don't check that, so I'm writing it here too.
Please don't hassle me about the $2 sketches. I haven't forgot about them, in fact I'll be uploading several tonight. I'm just not feeling very motivated right now, and I'm spending a lot of time with my baby cat, Ricochet, because I feel like there's a void in my heart that only the love of an animal can take care of right now. I'm realy, really irritable and I'm having a hard time controlling my reactions to things, so I know this is probably a huge overreaction to write all of this, but just bear with me right now.
and please, no sympathy or anything about Lucy. I don't want to have to read all the comments talking about her, it'll just make me miss her more. Thanks.

If you're trying to make a point that you don't like something, it's not working, because I can't see who the hell you are OR what you're un-favoriting, it just gives me a generic "this favorite has been removed by the user" message!! :| is there any way I can turn that function off?

got computer access today, big update

got ahold of a computer for today. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY PAST WEEK. :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDddddddddddddddddohgodwhy.
We'll go from smallest to biggest. :)
1. [edited for public] I have my first cold sore. I know the source, nobody is in danger or ever was, so don't worry. but ew.
2. I have around 30 zits on my face. Again, -seriously-. I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not. It's probably because I drank nothing but coke and then had major stress.
3. I didn't eat at all for the past 2 days because I was so depressed and stressed out that when I tried to eat I would throw up. At the end of the 2nd day, Ian made me eat a few chicken fingers, but then I didn't eat again for 14 hours or so. Today is the first day I've been able to eat a whole meal. I ate a pear and some crackers and a little bit of dry cereal, and I've drank lemonade and tea, with no bad results, so I think I'm getting better.
4. [edited down] Huge relationship problems over the past few days. Everything is getting better now, but it was really, really bad.
5. I have at least two cavities. I have never had a cavity ever. My mouth tastes gross and rotty even after I brush my teeth. I can't afford to go to the dentist, so I'm just trying to brush a lot and eat pears/other fruit to keep my teeth clean. I was going to buy some apples but they are fucking expensive.
6. My computer is completely not recoverable. It is -dead-. I've tried everything I can do, and nothing will work. It can barely even turn on at this point. Farore, if you're reading this, ask Langly if he wants it for parts, because I don't have any reason to kick it around here any more. Maybe buy it back for like $50 bucks or something, or free, I don't really care.
6a. I need a new computer, specifically another laptop because I move around so much, that's capable of handling intensive graphics programs and shit. I don't want to take any from anyone, although I appreciate the offers, especially from Eldoran and Balloonpup off the top of my head. The roundabout price seems to be at least $700. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA yeah :\ Ideally I want a tablet pc, or a mac laptop maybe. I don't know how I'm going to manage that. Donate? Commission me? haw ;p

8. I'm not really identifying with any of my characters right now. At the very least, I'm identifying with Delphineius, but she's retired and outdated. All I feel like right now is "Dolphin". Nothing specific, nothing fancy. I feel like I need to be near the ocean, and close to cetaceans and everything related. It's the only thought that seems comforting to me during all this stress right now. Maybe I'm reverting down to my most basic state, I'm not sure. Every time I watch my documentaries, or read my dolphin books, or play ecco lately, I just cry and cry and cry, because I feel like I need to be closer to them.
9. [edited] I'm considering getting a python again, so I can have an animal to care for and to unconditionally love me back. All I need is a new light fixture and the actual snake, I have everything else. Unfortunately the light and the snake would cost about $80, which I can't justify spending, since I have no money for important things, let alone a pet.
there's more stuff but the rest isn't worth writing about. If you need to leave me a message, I made a public open post on my livejournal.
I've been using my DS and Ian's Wii to check my emails, and I can access LJ from them, but I can't browse my friends list or anything much. So, if you need to contact me, you can leave a message there. I'll check that and my GMAIL, but I can't get into my robocoon.net email right now.
I'm still open for commissions. PSA on commissions
Posted 17 years agoI updated my Commissions website. I'm going to try and keep it updated super-regularly. It also has new (lower!) prices. Check it out! I work on everything at once, which is why some newer ones get done before older ones.
As some of you know, I got "sort of" layed off at my job, aka, I will be working a LOT less. Like, I'll be taking in maybe $80 per two week period for the next few weeks, after which I'll be required to leave permanently and then get another job. (My rent is $375 a month, and that doesn't include other vitals like food, laundry, gasoline, etc.)
The good news for you is that I'll have a lot more time to dedicate to all my outstanding commissions, and that I'll be taking more! I'll also have more time to actually practice, and get back in the groove of drawing regularly.
So, without further ado, here's the URL:

My computer has stopped recognizing my scanner, so no new art yet... except these couple of things that I drew for people at AC, which they scanned in for me. IF I DREW FOR YOU AT AC, PLEASE SCAN IT FOR ME!

anyare's commission and the couple art trades I'm working on, I've decided to open up for badge and icon commissions again for a while. There's no set amount of slots, and they will be done for AnthroCon.

3. I got a full time job again FINALLY. No more part time bullshit! Unfortunately this means less internet time.
4. Our scanner is not currently functioning, but I'm working on it. It should be soon.
5. So much online drama right now. It is making me sad. :( It'll clear up though, I'm sure.
