Mini-Update
Posted 8 years agoI'm sorry for the sudden return to silence again, everybody! I had a lot planned too but I've had to put things on hold for now.
I've got a lot going on in life right now that I'm trying to sort out. With any luck though, I should be back in operation again soon! I'll keep everybody updated as things progress!

A major apology to those waiting on commissions from me...
Posted 10 years agoHi there everybody!
I've got to say, I'm really sorry for taking so long in getting commissions done, and I really appreciate everyone's patience in the matter. I've just been dealing with a lot of real life issues and a lot of garden variety depressive issues as well, all of which make it difficult to get things done. I do promise, all the work will get done in time, it just hasn't been easy to pull out of myself.
As much as I hate to admit it, depression does run in the family, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's giving me so much trouble. It's like a massive art block, and it even makes it difficult to accomplish other things as well, regardless of whether or not they're things I enjoy. I swear, it's not like it'll be the death of me or anything, but it does make life a lot harder.
Again, I'm incredibly sorry for all the time it's taken to get everything done. I really do appreciate everyone's patience! I will have all of the commissions done, it's just going to take a little time.

$50 Cel Shaded Commissions! Details Here!
Posted 11 years agoHi there, Everybody!
As many people may not know, the struggle of a commissioning artist is an ongoing process, so to keep up with needs and expenses, I'm opening up 3 more slots for cel shaded pinups as I continue to crank through the current set. I'm finally finding stable ground in terms of getting a grip on the processes and handling of the commission business, so things may just finally start settling into a comfortable pace as originally planned. (Admittedly things have been quite difficult on many levels for quite some time, so that hasn't made anything easier either.)
So, without further ado, here are the rules and regulations for the round!
╔══════════════╗
COMMISSION RULES
╚══════════════╝
At the base price, you can acquire cel shaded commissions like these at approximately $50 USD:
http://d.facdn.net/art/rocket/14194.....wk_comm_fa.jpg
http://d.facdn.net/art/rocket/14064.....ommfa_-_1b.jpg
http://d.facdn.net/art/rocket/14138....._13commfaa.jpg (NSFW)
http://d.facdn.net/art/rocket/14110.....mmmk2-b-fa.jpg (NSFW)
That price however is just the base. Other fees may be added for incredibly complicated characters, complex backgrounds, or even difficult scene and pose ideas, so always plan ahead. And if not sure, it's always a very effective idea to ask politely. I don't bite.
╔══════════════════╗
WHAT I WILL NOT DRAW
╚══════════════════╝
Speaking of which, while I may do my best to stay flexible, I do have a few absolute restrictions that must be respected if you'd like to do business with me:
-Cub Porn
-Scat/Urine
-Diapers
-Hardcore Vore
-Dismemberment Fetish
I'm sorry, but I also do not do females or female bodied herms for commissions.
As always, if you're not sure on a subject, feel free to ask.
╔═════════════════════╗
HOW TO GET COMMISSIONS
╚═════════════════════╝
Please remember that if you'd like to get a commission from me, you MUST abide by strict policy in terms of contact and rules. To keep things running smoothly, I have to follow the code with no exceptions. Understand that as this would be a business transaction, a certain degree of professionalism is key, and very necessary. The rules are as follows:
-PayPal only!
-All commission inquiries must be sent via E-mail to ROCKETZCOMMISHHOTLINE@GMAIL.COM.
-Send in your commission request with your FA username in the Subject line.
-ALWAYS be sure to provide whatever character references you want me to use. Whatever reference you provide can heavily affect the look of your character in my work depending on the artist who drew the reference.
-Please send your commission scene and idea with the first message if at all possible. It would make it easier for me to evaluate. It also speeds up the commission completion time exponentially if you have a pose reference in mind as well!
-If you use someone else's character in your commission, make sure you have their permission first! I will ask them if I feel it necessary.
-If a reply isn't received within two weeks, check to see if the slots have been filled. Unfortunately I don't have the time to respond to all messages, but don't despair! I will still have your message in my inbox, and I may contact you later when more slots are available!
-Please, DO NOT send commission requests to my FA note box. I won't accept them if sent to the wrong inbox.

COMMISSIONS SOON!! In need of money... Details Here
Posted 11 years agoYes that's right, you read correctly! I'll be opening for commissions again shortly! I've found myself in desperate need of money and now. The best way to do that is through commission work, which can be great for those who want them!
However, and I hate to do this, I will need to raise the prices a decent amount in order to guarantee my current place of residence. Now that's not to say they need to stay that way, but for the time being, I think I may be able to do cel shaded, single character pin-up commissions for $50 each. Of a similar style to this one: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/14102388/ BUT just because it's a single character pin-up, doesn't mean it can't be naughty too! It can be anywhere from a G rating, all the way to a XXX rating! Preferably though, I'd like to keep the background somewhat simplistic or minimal if at all possible.
It's just that I've found myself completely broke in recent weeks, and this move to my new place made it even more difficult to keep up with. So I just need to ask, my peeps of FA, is that a reasonable commission program? I know it could be a bit much, but it's also a fund raiser of sorts, right? I really appreciate your feedback!

HELP SAVE THE INTERNET YET AGAIN!
Posted 12 years agoAs is customary for just about every other month as of late, the 'Powers that Be' are attempting to screw everything we know and love about the internet.
This time it seems, they're essentially auctioning off the internet to the highest bidders like phone companies and such so that they can control the access and/or speed of your internet in exchange for pay aside from what you already pay for internet service! Basically it's like pay-as-you-go internet despite the fact that you already paid for it and it's on your computer, not the phone.
Do what you can to stop the ridiculousness! All you gotta do is sign this petition with your name, e-mail, and zip code to show the FCC you care about your freedom on the net!
Sign the petition here! It only takes a moment.
Then be sure to pass it on so your friends and family can sign too!More drama? Really? What's going on? -_-;
Posted 12 years agoHey there everybody!
It's been brought to my attention that there's a bunch of crap going on, and people are up and leaving FA left and right. To my understanding, a change in management with potentially shady characters is to blame, but the situation is strictly rumor based. And my thoughts to you, the pleasant people of FA... Are that many of you really that sensitive?! Honestly, this is ridiculous! I can guarantee that tons of products and services you use every single day are run by bad people but you won't drop those because of it! Anything from Apple iPhones to the TV programs you watch, there are all sorts of unlikable, faulty people behind them somewhere along the lines, but you like the things you like regardless, huh? And many of those are truly certifiable! This situation is based solely on some bizarre rumors against Mr. Zaush.
Anyway, this isn't the first time big drama like this will hit, nor will it be the last. But I'm going to go back to not caring about all of that and just living my life like always. Thank you very much!
I hope everyone comes to their senses very soon.

Little Life Update
Posted 12 years agoI know most of you probably aren't really wondering, but I thought I'd mention I finally found a new job and I'm finally back in forward motion. I managed to get work with FedEx as a package handler. No pun intended. Ironically, despite the job title, I'm really bad at it. While it's ugly work and it sucks all the life out of me, it pays well and a crappy job is better than no job.
I AM still working on commissions, but the progress is a bit slow since the new job leaves me drained most of the time. As I start to get used to the job though, I'm finally starting to slip back into a decent routine that'll allow me to continue as planned.
And on a final note, I'd just like to say that having money is a wonderful, wonderful thing! Unfortunately I'm already pretty FedUp with my job. -_-"

Life Troubles - Update
Posted 12 years agoI really just want to take the time thank everyone who read my last journal, and offered words of encouragement! Honestly, It really means a lot that so many people even had things to say in response. I'm actually pretty surprised by all the love and support! Thank you so much!
While I'm still not out of the woods yet, I will say that I have a solid place to go for now and the future is starting to look a little brighter. I'll be able to settle in within the next two weeks! As I get nice and comfy, I'll be able to look for a new job as well, all while doing commissions for that extra bit of support. Unfortunately it still doesn't solve everything, but it's a nice consolation prize.
Again, thank you all so much!

Life Troubles... (That's right, you don't wanna read this!)
Posted 12 years agoOkay, just as a heads up, If I'm a little sluggish in responding to messages and stuff, It's not 'cause I hate you. I promise. I'm just dealing with, and have been dealing with some particularly heavy life related crap. I am however still chugging along on commissions, and I'm working my way up the list. So if you sent in an E-mail for a commission request in the past, chances are, I'm gonna get to you at some point. I go in order by date though so don't go thinking I'm picking favorites now! I'm just going to work on the list I have, and then I can open up commissions again to accept new people a little later on.
But yeah, in a nutshell, I've been dealing with issues pertaining to having lost my job in June and changes in my living accommodations as well as family related problems. (That probably sounds like I'm difficult to deal with from a third-person perspective, doesn't it?) But yeah, right now the commissions I'm working on are saving my life, so I just want to thank all those who were and are interested!
Honestly though, working on commissions feels like my major reason for being right now, so it's giving me a bit of hope for the future in more ways than you could imagine.
If you actually decided to read through this journal, thank you for caring! And I apologize for wasting your time.

Should Chronic Unwanted RPers Be Charged Commission Prices?
Posted 12 years agoI'm sure we've all had them, those people that are 'friends' that only talk to you when they want to RP, get mad at you when you don't want to RP, and then they don't talk to you again until they want to RP again.
Now don't get me wrong, Role Playing can be fun and all, but it's fun when you willingly do it with friends that you also like to talk to. However, there are those that do not actually have anything to say, yet initiate RP sequences as soon as they get the chance. And worst of all, they're always sexy RP sequences that they're unashamedly pawing off to...
See, the thing is, If you're someone who likes random extended RP fap sessions with people you only RP with, that's great, but I know some commission artists who get stuck with RP sessions, long ones, because if they object, the RP buddy gets pissy and doesn't talk to them again for awhile. At least not until the next RP... That's not okay though. Trying to force artists whose characters you like into RP sessions is abusing their services.
Honestly, I think for people like that, there should be a commission charge for RP sessions you don't want to do. I mean, if you have a friend who only ever wants to RP, never to chat, that's not a friend anyway.
Think of it this way, a lot of people commission good artists to draw them work to fap to. Avid RPers flock to others so they can 'visualize' the things they want to fap to. It's a service that they're getting away with for free, especially if the artist stuck with an RP session they really don't want. In a way, some of these poor artists are being treated like imaginary prostitutes and people are getting away with their services for absolutely nothing.
I know there are people who really won't like what I've had to say here, but I want everyone to get an idea of how this can really be an issue for others. If you're someone who does this, you might want to think about how you are treating your RP 'friends.' Are they actually your friends? Do you have real conversations and connections? Do you know if this person actually wants to RP or did you just kind of force it? If any of these do not apply to you, you may be an abusive RPer and an awful friend. Keep in mind, these people you're Role Playing with are real people using up their own time for you, not just a fan fiction you can request to get your rocks off.

New Ratchet & Clank Game on the way!
Posted 12 years agoJust thought I'd mention, Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus is scheduled to come out around the holiday season this year! And best of all, it's supposed to be a return to the real R&C gameplay we all know and love! Not only that, but it's a true continuation of the Future series. Of course, don't take my word for it, you can check out this article by IGN, or you you can go to Ratchet Galaxy for a much faster rundown. I know any major R&C fan knows this by now, but I thought I'd share in the joy.
I always feel frantic and hot when I hear a new R&C game is in the works, Is that normal? O_O
But yeah, so I know the fact that I've found this out while I was supposed to be working on commissions sounds bad, but I... Oh would you look at the time! Gotta get back to work!

For those who haven't heard from me yet, please don't take it personally. I don't have enough time to respond to everyone. But at the same time, don't feel left out, because that means you will be one of the first ones I get back to when I'm ready for the next batch!

{ COMMISSIONS NOW CLOSED! }
Posted 12 years agoI'm proud to announce I'm now doing commissions!
To get my feet in the water, I'm going to start relatively simply with a Pinup Theme. That means one character, (clothed or not) in a solo pinup style situation, and that can be just about anything as long as it's solo... -_^
Before we get started, make sure you hang around for all the details. It's pretty important you know.
Click here for a proper commission sheet showing the types of commissions available.
As of this round of commissions, I'm only opening up three, YES 3, slots. This way I can finish my commissions and start new ones faster.

COMMISSION RULES
╚══════════════╝
Pinup Theme
-One character
-Rated G to XXX
-Just about any solo character focused situation. (Ask first!)
-No females, female bodied herms or shemales yet. (Not yet confident enough in my anatomy knowledge.)
-Other details negotiable.
╔══════════════╗
WHAT I WILL DRAW
╚══════════════╝
I pride myself on my flexibility. I'm willing to negotiate just about anything so if you want to know if I'll draw something, feel free to ask. You don't even need to request a commission to make sure I'm open to what you want.
╔══════════════════╗
WHAT I WILL NOT DRAW
╚══════════════════╝
While I try to keep an open mind, there are some things I will not budge on. There will be no:
-Cub Porn
-Scat
-Diapers
-Hardcore Vore
-Dismemberment Fetish
These are only the most major ones, but like I stated earlier, If there's something you're not sure about, don't hesitate to ask.
╔═════════════╗
CHARACTER USAGE
╚═════════════╝
I've noticed some people have already expressed interest in using my character Rocky in their commissions. Just to be clear, while I'm willing to negotiate scenarios and situations, rules may be a little tighter with him than with your own characters. He's very near and dear to my heart after all, and I won't subject him to just anything. If you do want to use him in your commission, ask me about what you have in mind. He's not free however. Second character fees still apply when using him. Same goes for any other borrowed characters.
╔═════════════════════╗
HOW TO GET COMMISSIONS
╚═════════════════════╝
Make sure you follow the instructions carefully. I'll ignore any improperly sent commission request.
You can discuss commissions at rocketzcommishhotline@gmail.com. This is a business Email ONLY. Not to chat, Not to ask me to add you on Steam or anything, BUSINESS. Please don't make this hard for me.
Don't forget to check out the commission price list for extra details!
-PayPal only!
-Send in your commission request with your FA username in the Subject line
-Make sure to say what price range of commission you'd like to purchase.
-ALWAYS be sure to provide whatever character references you want me to use. Whatever reference you provide can heavily affect the look of your character in my work depending on the artist who drew the reference.
-You can send in your commission request scenario immediately if you'd like. It'll make it easier for me to review and quite possibly accept your commission faster.
-If you use someone else's character in your commission, make sure you have their permission FIRST! I may ask them...
-If I don't respond to your commission request within a week, that probably means the commission slots have been filled. Don't fret though, that means you've been added to a waiting list and I can get to you in a later round. Keep an eye on my journals to see updates on the commissions in progress.
-DO NOT send commission requests to my FA note box. I will delete them. Nothing personal, just running a business, gotta do it right.
Alright, I think I'm ready, let's see how this works!

What's wrong with people?! Why Drama?
Posted 12 years agoIn light of recent events, a friend of mine has been dealing with a lot of issues from commissioners, including an extensive complaint report from a certain drama magnet, who shall remain nameless, with an impressive college education and nowhere to put it. I'll admit I don't know the entire story in it's extensive details since I couldn't really read the cheesy PowerPoint presentation word for word without falling ill, but if you smear three years of someone's questionable decisions into one report, anyone would look like the devil. Furthermore the fact that anyone would go to such profound lengths to slander someone is pretty sad in it's own right.
However, taking shots at the smudge artist's work ethic isn't the point here. It's just seriously, if you don't like someone and the way they live their life, ignore them and go on with your own! Causing drama really doesn't make anything better. There's no reason to make up a huge report by stalking them and their family for three years. Not only is it creepy, it's a waste of your own valuable time. Life is short, why waste it making someone else's life miserable?
I'll admit, perhaps my buddy could've been more professional in some situations, but what people don't seem to realize is that commission artists happen to be human beings with lives and feelings too. To those who aren't the artists, it may be hard to picture, but we put a lot of time, effort, and heart into our work, and everyone expects our very best. Often times it may make it feel like it would be easier to take shortcuts or even give up. It's a lot of pressure after all. Sometimes doing tons of painstaking work can take all the love of drawing out of the process. Without that inspiration, trying to find the will to draw can be unbelievably difficult. It's for this reason I've been so reluctant on doing commissions for so many years. I've had a taste of the life though when I took on heaps of requests. I still have a sketchbook filled with unfinished scraps of work from that period I couldn't bring myself to look at anymore.
In much lighter news, I am in fact starting commissions in the coming weeks. If you're hoping to get a commission from me, please wait until I post all the info later. There's a method to my madness so please just bear with me.

So... Thinking about doing Commissions...
Posted 12 years agoAs the title says, I've actually for the first time started thinking my work might actually be worth selling, not to mention, recent life issues have left me in need of money. While this might be a bad situation for me, this could be a good thing for everybody else!
So first off, do you guys think you might want commissions from me? For example, this pic here: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/10775873/ is a good example of what the highest priced commissions might look like. (I'll admit, backgrounds are really, really not my strong point, but if it would be situational to the commission, I may do them as needed.) However, pricing is a difficult thing for me to decide on. What would one be willing to pay for something like that? Maybe even with more than one character too, but the price would be a bit more depending on how many characters are involved.
A decent example of a pair pic can be seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/10775789/
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of examples of the current style I've been working with that are actually finished right now, but the current examples here are pretty decent if I do say so myself. :P
Please, folks, your feedback can highly impact whether or not I decide to do this...

Posted 12 years agoWord to the wise, never drop off FA's radar for 4-5 months. Otherwise you'll end up with over 14,000 messages...
Believe it or not, I'm still alive over here. I... really don't have anything interesting to say this time around.
I'll try to start getting new work into my FA gallery shortly. I've been slacking in keeping it up to date with DA and Pixiv.

Merry Christmas to All!
Posted 13 years ago
Honestly, nothing to say this time around. Just thought I'd spread the cheer! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everybody!
Also, a very big "I TOLD YOU SO" to all of the end of the world theorists.
That is all. Cheers! Merry Christmas to All!

Dusting Off the Journal Page...
Posted 13 years agoI just kind of figured I'd get rid of the "Happy New Year" message that's been sitting on my journal page for almost an entire year. I could've probably saved myself the trouble and waited a couple months 'til it ends up being in season again, but that's just not very classy.
Anyway, just so everyone knows, I am in fact still alive, mostly. I've been lacking in motivation and I haven't exactly been feeling very social, due to work and family related stuff, but somehow all the cynicism brought out the best in my arty-ness, so expect some new work soon. I've got a butt-load of it, just gotta work up the ambition to make it pretty.
Well, that's my bit for now.
Peace, my FA peeps.
RocketHappy New Year!
Posted 14 years agoHey, everybody! Just thought wish everyone a Happy New Year. May this be the year of opportunity and fortune! Hope you all can follow through on those resolutions...
Anyway, Just to let you guys know, I'm sitting on a boat-load of artwork that I hope to share very soon. Keep your eyes peeled! (sounds gross when you think about it...)
Happy New Year!Ratchet & Clank Contest Results...
Posted 14 years agoCrap! I didn't even place!
Okay, here's the scenario for those who missed it: Insomniac Games held a contest for a skin design. The 1st prize winner would eventually be added, fully rendered in 3D goodness, to the next game: Ratchet & Clank - All 4 One. As many of you may remember, I entered the contest with this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5631329 Unfortunately, I didn't even get into the top 3.
The chosen results can be found here: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011.....ntest-winners/
Might I say, I'm mildly disappointed with the 1st and even second place winners for the Ratchet skin. The skeleton thing, I don't really care for. I was hoping, if anything, the winner would feature Ratchet in his essential Ratchet-ness. Unfortunately, like many of the skins already, it's like a new character skin. And as for the second prize winner, the cowboy thing has been so overdone and tired out, it's not even funny. And the design isn't even a unique cowboy design either! Don't even get me started on the Quark and Nefarious designs! I mean, they didn't even change enough about the original designs for it to seem unique.
I really hate to sound like a sore loser, but I'm pretty cranky right now. Let's just hope there are some already in-game skins I'd like.

What if I started doing commissions...?
Posted 14 years agoNow keep in mind, I'm saying nothing's for sure, but I just want to get an idea of whether or not my work's worth paying for. I also realize that I've got some unfinished requests but I will finish the ones I need to do before even considering starting commissions.
So... like... do you guys think my work's worth paying for? I mean sure, I'd never make them expensive but would any of you think that my work would be worth paying between 5 and 20 dollars for? Of course the pricing would vary depending on the difficulty and depth of a piece. I dunno, I'm not sure about asking for money for drawings or the fact that drawing, which is mostly fun, could become too much like a job.
Again, nothing's certain. I might not even do commissions. I mean, I have a hard enough time keeping up with normal requests so I just don't know for sure. Just lemme know what you guys think.

Bin Laden... Dead? Maybe too good to be true?
Posted 14 years agoI can't help but think that this whole "we killed Bin Laden" thing is way too good to be true, and to happen so suddenly - almost by accident - seems a bit far-fetched for my tastes. Sure, many, many people want the man dead but it was almost too easy.
I can't help but feel like the guy used a stunt double or something. I mean there's always the possibility that he recruited a double to pose as himself, get killed, and lull Americans into a false sense of security. Then he strikes with a new attack group as nobody sees it coming. It's not too far out there, I mean he managed to convince groups of people to crash planes into important US property, killing themselves to kill thousands of Americans so convincing one guy to get killed shouldn't be too hard.
Alternatively, there's also a government conspiracy theory idea... Let's face it, whether you like him or hate him, Obama's approval rating is falling fast and news like this during his presidency would send him back to the top. What if, just what if this was all a plot to get people back to his side?
Now I don't mean to offend people in any way at all, I'm just throwing ideas out there. Keep in mind that my brain's tainted with tons and tons of both good and bad movie plots. Not to mention my knowledge on current events and government business is made of Swiss cheese at best, so really, I can't be taken that seriously.

Anyway, bask in the glory, but keep a wary eye out!Getting back into it. (sort of)
Posted 14 years agoI realize for the longest time now that I've been practically lying dormant and I think I'm finally starting to get back into the swing of things. Due to life in the outside world being somewhat troublesome, I just ran out of motivation - for anything really - for a very long time. For some reason more recently, I've suddenly started feeling more relaxed (no idea why) and I'm kind of starting to slip back into things. While I'm still not sure how much I'll be posting as far as art goes right now, I'm at least catching back up on notes, comments, watches and such.
Again, folks, I wanna apologize for previous issues. I'm feeling more myself now though so things should start to fall back into place.
