Many there are pretty shaken up from yesterday's terror attacks in Paris and today's fatal derailment of a test TGV high speed rail train in Strasbourg. So, take time to think about those affected by these tragic events.
Myself, I have some who watch my account that live in France and have a model of the old orange TGV train, so it has been sad to see what has been going on there these past two days.

1. You started to play videogames at the age of...?
Can't remember my age, but I was really young. Back then, it was the early 90s, and our primary computer was a Commadore 64, but that computer had games on it that I have fond memories of to this day!
2. First game you ever played?
One of the educational games on the Commadore 64, I believe it was either Alphabuild or a game about the Muppets.
3. First console you owned?
Super Nintendo with Donkey Kong Country.
4. Consoles you own/owned?
Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Wii, PS1, Xbox, Xbox 360, Pico, Dreamcast - I used to use them much more than I do now.
5. Your favorite genre(s)?
I like games where I can create things and manage them, games where I respond to emergencies, alternate history and historic games, games where I drive/fly things around, and ones with characters I like in interesting settings.
6. Favorite game character(s)?
Amaterasu, Okikurumi, Ninetails, from Okami, (though Susano and Issun can be funny at times too.), Blanca from Shadow Hearts II, The dispatcher from Sim Copter, DJ Zed and the Strigon Team from Ace Combat 6, the police from the pursuit in Ace Combat 5, John Tanner from Driver San Francisco, and the police voices in NFS 4.
7. Which element(s) in games is/are most important for you (story, graphic etc.)?
Gameplay is most important to me. A game can have graphics from the 1990s, but if it has good gameplay and mods, it can be just as relevant today or even more-so than it was back then. ^w^ I'd say that variety is important as well, as it makes me more likely to come back and play if things are different or can be done differently every time. One other element that I think is important though, is heart. A game can have the best of everything, but if it feels like no one put their heart into it, it just feels like something is lacking.
8. You don't care about ...?
Online play. I mostly play games by myself, so its just an extra to me.
9. Prefer PC or Console?
I seem to prefer PC if my computer can handle the game, otherwise, a console is better.
10. Your current 3 Fav games?
Okami will always remain my favorite here, though I seem to be liking OTTD and Driver San Francisco lately.
11. 3 Games you didn't like...
Eh.. mistakes.. Well, I'll list them here.
Glover: rented it, put it in the N64, watched the cinematics, and pulled it out. Just didn't feel it.
Airport Tycoon: It looked cool and wasn't priced bad, but it played terribly on my computer, had awful music, and seemed badly bugged. I wished that I had read the reviews back then.
Theme Park: What a depressing game. First, one doesn't make any money, then the park is vandalized, then it folds and shows the owner jumping out of a window to his death when all the money is gone. Roller Coaster Tycoon that came out later is a much better game.
12. One game that's totally overrated in your opinion?
The Sims. It just didn't do much for me.
13. Ever played an online game, if yes which one(s)?
I've played War Thunder a few times. Its nicely done, and reminds me much of IL-2 Sturmovik, Birds of Prey from the Xbox 360, but with more stuff. However, while I am ok with competition, playing against others kind of takes the fun out of it sometimes.
14. What do you think about ...Tomb Raider?
Hehe I'll pass on that one. Just not my thing.
15. ...Tetris?
I really like this game, its music, and the story behind it. Its a nice simple game with a good feel to it, as it involves problem solving to advance. ^w^ The music is quite nice as well, with many recreating the theme in piano, jumpstyle, and many other genres.
16. ...Sonic?
I like the Sonic series, but never really got into it that much.
17. ...Spyro?
Same as with Sonic, I liked it, but didn't really get into it.
18. ...The Sims?
I played SimCity/Farm/Tower/Park/Tunes/Town/Copter/etc and enjoyed them very much. But The Sims was not fun for me.
I did play it and it was kind of fun for a while, but the lack of them doing simple things to help themselves got old really fast.
(I am unhappy with you because I smell bad, I am unhappy with you because I chose to sleep instead of getting up for work, and now I am unhappy because I can't pay my bills or eat, and have now urinated all over the floor because you didn't tell me to go to the bathroom. -It just gets silly after a while.)
19. ...Legend of Zelda?
I like Link as a wolf, but otherwise, it does not interest me.
20. ... Assassin's Creed?
It does not interest me.
21. GAME OVER!!!
No problem, time to eat breakfest! hehe
22. Game(s) you'd love to see?
An actual sequal to Okami would be nice to see. ^w^
I think a game based on Wolf's Rain might have a chance, but perhaps its best left as an anime.
A hybrid RTS-FPS based on the emergency services would be cool, you dispatch the units to the incident, then you go take care of it on the ground. Though that might be better as a simulator for crews than a game. ^w^
23. Game(s) you're waiting for at the moment?
Titanic: Honor and Glory. I've been wanting a game like that ever since I saw the ship in books and on the Discovery Channel. It may take forever for it to come out, but just to see someone making an effort is nice.

A note to those who watch me for railroad photos

Things have been kind of changing around here, so photos of train stuff in my gallery will probably become less frequent.
There are several reasons for this.
Many places I used to watch and photograph trains at have become much more crowded lately, which makes it difficult to get decent photos.
Many trains I used to watch are now running at odd times, which makes it hard to photograph them during the day. (Lots of late night and early morning action here.)
Things have also become a bit more like railroads in other places here, so things aren't quite as interesting as they used to be.
BNSF now looks like a pumpkin patch instead of a rainbow patch. hehe
If I see something interesting or create a pretty photo involving trains, I'll probably still put it out here, but I think the days of railfanning might be slowly fading for me.

Updates on Projects
Posted 10 years agoHello there to all who look at my stuff out here! ^w^
I am sorry for the lack of anything new on here for months.
It has been a busy Summer here with quite a few things needing my attention, leaving little time to be creative at my computer.
However, with Fall on the way and things quieting down a bit here, I feel that I will have more time to come up with ideas and be creative again.
I feel this would be a good time to show those who follow my work, what will be upcoming here in time.
Stories in the works:
Rocket Ookami Story - Long term hold due to idea block, but we'll see what happens.
Ookami-kitsune Story - Started, but needs structure.

I am sorry for the lack of anything new on here for months.
It has been a busy Summer here with quite a few things needing my attention, leaving little time to be creative at my computer.
However, with Fall on the way and things quieting down a bit here, I feel that I will have more time to come up with ideas and be creative again.
I feel this would be a good time to show those who follow my work, what will be upcoming here in time.

Titanic Honor and Glory
Posted 10 years agoBeing one who has has been interested in this ship for a long time, and has interest in shipwrecks and in the old liners of that era, it has been cool to watch this game that has been in the works for several years now.
Considering the last time anyone made a game solely on this ship was back in 1996 with Adventure Out of Time, it is nice to see someone making an effort to create a full replica of the ship and its final days.

I remember seeing the rear unit of one of these on a highway patrol Crown Vic here once. I believe they only equipped one unit with this setup, but I always thought it was cool to see.

Lack of energy
Posted 10 years agoWell friends, I guess I'm feeling old again.
It seems like lately I just don't have the energy I used to with pretty much everything.
Most days, I seem to get tired easily and feel sore most of the day.
I guess the years of struggle with diabetes are starting to take their toll, and life is going to be different now.
I'll do my best here, but I'm afraid that it might take me longer to get things done than in the past.

Posted 10 years agoAfter several trips to the doctor and one to the dentist, I can say that I at least am able to rest a bit easier now.
While I still have problems that I will have to watch carefully and do my best to control, I at least feel that soon I'll be able to get back into creating things.

Downtime due to medical issues

I'm sorry to report that due to unknown medical issues related to my digestive system, I am probably not going to be able to submit new art or photos until things have been resolved.
I do not know what is wrong, but I hope to find out next week.
Hopefully, I'll be ok, but it has me concerned enough that I feel its best to leave a note here.

Venus will be the bright white spherical object and Mars will be the dim reddish object next to it.

Rocket Arctic Wolf
[2.] Tell us about your character.
Rocket typically thinks of others more than himself.
[3.] How did you make your character up?
The name Rocket comes from what the Rock Island Railroad used to call their passenger trains. :)
For the rest, its a bit like this: I like Arctic Wolves, Ammy from Okami, and Blanca from shadow hearts, so I created a design that reminds me a bit of all three, yet is unique in his own ways.
[4.] Is it easy drawing your character?
Well.. it depends. For me, its typically not too hard to add the markings to linearts, but drawing him without any guide is not easy for me. Even then, I'm not perfect, so there will be slight variations.
For others, I cannot say, but others have drawn him.
[5.] When did you make your character up?
In late 2008 at my desk. However, the new forms have come over the years.
[6.] What inspiration[s] brought your character to life?
Probably hours of looking at Arctic Wolves, stuff from Okami, stuff from Shadow hearts II.
I feel that emergency crews and railroads have likely played a significant role as well.

Goethe wrote a series of Fables on foxes during the 1770s, and these Fables were soon published in books, many with interesting illistrations.
As a result, many have given a nickname of Рейнеке, Reineke, or Reynard to the author in reference to his work.
I found some interesting images today when looking up the works of Goethe, and felt that these might be worth sharing with my fox friends here.

Sick for the Holidays
Posted 10 years agoThings have been kind of difficult lately.
This Christmas Eve, I fell ill with a nasty sore throat and cough, along with general tiredness, weakness, and a slight fever.
I was too sick to do much of anything, so I spent most of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on the couch watching TV specials, admiring the Christmas tree, and watching snow fall outside.
Over the past few days, I seem to have gotten most of my strength back, but the sore throat and cough refuse to leave, and there seems to be a never-ending supply of mucus to make me feel sluggish even on a good day.
I am hoping that I will be better by New Years, but am not holding out much hope, as this type of thing takes a long time to leave ones body.
Things are ok otherwise, though it is kind of boring being stuck inside all day.

I hope all of you have a good one that is enjoyable and memorable.
One thing I always try to mention every year, is to take time to think about those who might not be able to enjoy Christmas much this year.
On Christmas every year, there are many who are busy out doing their jobs away from home, stuck inside feeling ill, or who have no home to go to.
It is important to think of others, as this time of year might not be very enjoyable for them.
Merry Christmas to all my friends here that celebrate it. =^w^=

Story Updates
Posted 10 years agoI have finally gotten around to creating/updating the stories I have been working on, so hopefully I'll have more to post for others to read here soon.
The one thing I did get done tonight was updating the story about the forms I can take on through shape-shifting.
It still has mostly an informational feel to it, but I feel that it does a better job of describing them now.

However, there are times when relaxing sounds can be just as nice, or even better. =^w^=
