After more than a year of not working on my furry fiction, I've started work on a new story, The Magic Dog House, and released the first chapter!

This will hopefully be a smaller story, in contrast to dog boy, and I envision it as sort of the kind of story written in the 90s you might rediscover as a worn paperback in a classroom bookshelf. These were the kinds of books that led to me eventually finding the furry community, and I hope you enjoy it!

While I wrote the story a whole year ago [and an older draft even earlier than that], I finally finished uploading Dog Boy to Furaffinity. It is a real intensive process uploading an entire 53 part story to FA. For every chapter I had to - upload a dummy source file pdf. Upload a custom thumbnail that I'd need to make different every time. Paste in the main body text. Paste in the header text. Paste in the links at the bottom, and route them to the correct pages. Then I would need to comb through the text and search for anything that needs to be italicized. Then I needed to add the tags, and then finally, I submit it - and then I go to the last chapter, and route the "next chapter" link to the new chapter.

Woof. A looong process for sure, but I think it's important to make reading a story as convenient as possible. I've seen a lot of stories on the site where I have to go searching for the next chapter, and on an older story, that can absolutely stink, when you're searching through an artist's decade long portfolio. I sincerely hope that FA can improve it's literature tools.

But it's finally done, and I feel like the effort has been worth it. A lot of people have found the story through FA rather than Wattpad or Scribblehub, and I've enjoyed once again seeing people go through the narrative. Hopefully the effort I've gone to make this story convenient to read will lead to many more readers far in the future.

It's up in the air if I'll have more stuff I write here. Life is busy for me, but I do have some ideas floating around. It's really dependent on if I can hash out the plots for my stories, and I don't like uploading any of a story if I don't have a path to finishing it. Readers deserve to have a conclusion.

One last question - how does everyone feel about me keeping or removing the original draft of dog boy from the site? It's sitting in my scraps right now, and for some inexplicable reason, a surprising number of people are still reading it and faving it - and obviously I'd rather they read the new version. xD But I'll get a pulse for what people think before I make a decision on the matter.

After spending all day working on a nice new piece of art, some pernicious a**holes decided to attempt to destroy my discord server with the most appalling vitriol the internet could muster.

Obviously these are 13 year old tools who think what they're doing is funny, being a nuisance to other people just because "oH nO It's A cRiNGy fUrRy!!!"

Unfortunately this nonsense, called fun, also known as spamming pure evil hateful things in my discord, is going to mean my discord will be closed to invites for a bit while we try to figure out what the heck happened. Maybe it'll be a few hours, a few days, I don't know. I'm just exhausted.

I thought this kind of internet behavior was relegated to 2005, but apparently some people still haven't learned how to act like decent human beings.

I wish to all actually mature people out in the world a pleasant day, and I'll have this figured out soon enough.

So I've been uploading on furaffinity for a good amount of time now, for over a year and a half. At the same time though, I've also been uploading different art to Deviant Art. For as much as I enjoy drawing myself as a golden retriever, the place where my heart lies is as a merman. : )

Ever since I was a kid I've been interested in them, and daydreamed about turning into a merboy, and swimming around with a tail. While that sadly isn't entirely possible, I've been drawing merfolk art for a long time, and in more recent years, put it onto DA. So I've kept these two split, furry stuff to FA, merfolk stuff to DA. This has been a matter of simply going where the audience is for each.

While my merfolk art still performs fairly well on DA, it's not hard to notice that things on DA are not going as well as they have in the past. My art does well, and I do find others making really good merfolk art, but the site just keeps making foolish decisions, messing up its front page, its search algorithms, and entertaining the thought of letting the evil AI in. While it annoyed me when FA deleted my meme making fun of AI, it did prove to me that they are quite vigilant in protecting their artists.

So to that end, I've decided to make a new account on FA to share my merfolk art here. https://www.furaffinity.net/user/currentthemerboy I will over time move the majority of my art from DA to that page.

This new account won't impact the amount of stuff I upload to this account, as I was already making said art before, I'm just uploading it to an additional place. I will say on this account, that I will try to improve my pace with uploading new Dog Boy chapters. : )

I feel pretty pathetic writing this. I'm a very not-tech savvy person, and much the same when it comes to financial stuff.

I felt recently like I might want to start getting onto the horse and doing commissions and stuff like that - so I made a paypal account for furaffinity. Someone tipped me two shinies ( 10 USD ) and I was happy - but got some email from paypal soon after saying something about how I needed to make a ton of money, like two hundred USD before they'd let me withdraw it. Really stupid, but it didn't really matter to me, it was only ten bucks, and a tip.

Fast forward to when I actually start looking into things today - and I find that paypal has refunded the money. I assume that it was just because I didn't make enough money for them fast enough - but I look at the account to find that it is permanently limited. I look at everything I can and I seem to come to the horrible realization that paypal has decided I cannot delete this account, and that it is holding my personal information hostage.

This is super, super horrific to me - this has my phone number, bank information, and IRL name on it. I don't know what to do. Pay Pal's cryptic info seems to indicate that I didn't pay for some sort of business account, it recognized tipping on FA as a business transaction, and it seems to think that I am pulling a fast one and trying to avoid taxes or something. I seriously had no idea how to do this, and now I feel unbelievably stupid.

The obvious answer to this is getting a whole new bank card, but I can't - because I got a new one somewhat recently. Besides pissing my folks off, I feel like there would really be a way to resolve this with my family without having to reveal all the stupid furry stuff, which I'm absolutely not going to do.


So am I just screwed? I have no idea what to do. I feel like the account being locked isn't going to lead to them like charing money on my bank account or something, but are they just straight up selling all my personal data? I don't know. I should have had some basic sense. I know any one reading this probably thinks I'm absolutely stupid - but I just need some kind of advice.

I feel like all I can do is just hope that in the next few years Pay Pal doesn't do anything, and my card information goes out of date - and then eventually in the future, my phone number as well. I'm sure however, that in the stupid interconnected digital world, I won't be able to escape it.

I don't know. Do I have reason to be seriously freaking out? What should I do? This feels like a seriously insane reaction to someone sending me ten bucks. I feel really hopelessly lost.

So yeah... FA took down my meme making fun of AI... because I included AI imagery in it. So... yeah, that's where it went if y'all were wondering . : /

I've been on the site for about a year, and after all this time, working on improving my art, and releasing my story Dog Boy, I've appreciated all the support you've given. It feels so cool to hit this milestone, and I can't wait to see what all of you think of what I've got coming down the line.

Hey y'all, been a while since I've made a journal.

If you aren't on my discord or following my story on Wattpad, Dog Boy's revision is progressing nicely, and with it, I've been getting a few ideas for some new stories after it too. : )

Something I've been thinking about though is that while I have a semi-regularly upload schedule of twice a week on Wattpad, on Tuesday and Saturday (that I sometimes completely forget about xD ) I just kind of update the revised chapters randomly on FA.

There's a few reasons for this, that being that furaffinity has some pretty clunky tools for writing, and while I've gotten into a nice process to set up my fancy links and everything, it's just a bit annoying to need to make a new thumbnail every time, and all that when I can just put the text in my wattpad chapter, and immediately publish it nice and polished. I do like having the nice looking chapters on FA that are labeled in the thumbnail, but it does take more time to do.

So I've just been uploading them randomly - and I'm wondering if y'all would like me to start a more consistent update schedule, potentially the one I'm doing one Wattpad (just somewhat behind though). I could upload them a bit faster, as to catch up with Wattpad, but I want to give people time to read the new chapters.

So let me know what y'all think. I'd like to get a gauge for how many people are reading here exclusively. I'm now uploading Dog Boy on Wattpad, Scribblehub, and most recently, Royal Road, so hopefully one of the four options appeals to you.

My activity on FA has been a bit reduced in recent months, but in that time I've been working on making a revision of Dog Boy. This started as me just wanting to put the story on some writing sites while simultaneously cleaning it up, but it turned into a much larger project to revamp the story. As for FA, I haven't put the new chapters here because I was extremely unhappy with that first chapter, and I wanted to make it a lot better before putting it here. Now I've finally got it I'd say, and I'll be releasing that new chapter soon. If you enjoyed the original, feedback from others indicates it has vastly improved. I cannot guarantee that I'll get chapters out extremely quickly as FA has absolutely terrible literature tools, but I'll persist nonetheless.

So something I thought I'd do is upload my story Dog Boy to Wattpad. Other than offering people another place to read the story, I'm taking the opportunity to do a revision of the story. It will primarily be spelling errors and the like but there are other things that will be improved. I'll replace the existing furaffinity chapters at a later date.

If you've enjoyed this story, I'd really appreciate you providing support in the form of favorites, follows, and especially comments on Wattpad. I enjoy making stories for people, and my motivation increases when people don't stay silent readers, and tell me what they think!

Also, as I'm working on the revision, I'm also working on a new story. I'm figuring out what I want to do with it right now. Don't want to start a story when I don't know how I'd want to finish it, so that's why I'm waiting on releasing what I've completed so far. After several months working on this story, I've finally finished it, coming in at 38 chapters. The remaining parts will be released about every other day. Thank you all so much for your support, and I can't wait to see what y'all think of the ending!

The race to the finish was incredibly fast. In a single day I think I finished around four chapters. Now, all I have is to find exactly how I want it to end. I'll consult some friends on what they like best, and then decide from there.

Hey y'all, sorry for the time off from Dog Boy over the holidays. As a treat for your patience, I've got a nice new piece of art depicting Jackie, as well as a new dog boy chapter!

I'm starting to get a better grasp of where I want the story to go, so expect new chapters to be not far distant.
