Well shit.
Posted 10 years agoI really feel like that could have gone better. Pretty sure I didn't get the job. We went in pretty upbeat, and when we left the meeting room, he looked really disappointed.
Guess it's time to look elsewhere.

Welp, it's time, I guess.
Posted 10 years agoJob interview tomorrow, for what some people call "a real job" - wish me luck. I'm gonna need it if we want to make rent and bills.
Finally back to about 100%
Posted 11 years agoI was kindasorta bad and kept pressing myself too far too soon with my back, which kept opening up the scars. It's healed over now, and I only have a little bit of scabbing left over - I've got some wicked scars on my back, that I'm not sure if they'll go away, but I'm not too worried about it. Never had a good self-image anyway, what's a few more scars that no one will ever see? :P
Got some good work done, finished the pose set and did a jackal-y thing between stages that helped get my mind going. I'll be perhaps doing some YCH pics, if I get some ideas for poses.
A note on my YCHs - I am not like some other artists where they're set on the body type and species, or even gender. I will adjust the pose to make different things work, and I even offer the whole image at a discount if a single person wants to buy both (or more I guess) spots if there are multiple. I also don't do auctions. They're flat sale. Often at a good discount from what I would charge for the same thing if someone commissioned it outright.
I've seen a lot of negativity towards YCHs, and wanted to get it out of the way that I do things a little differently.
Thank you for your time reading this! :)

Updoot (back things, commission status)
Posted 11 years agoI'm working on healing - slowly. My back still hurts like heck, but they took the tubes out. Now I just have open holes in my back, covered with gauze.
It still hurts to reach my arms forward to draw - it pulls the incisions open and really stings something fierce, but I'm hoping soon that I'll be able to work on commissions again.
I'm really sorry this has taken so long, and I'm glad my commissioners are so patient.
Again, if anyone is waiting on a commission and is tired of waiting, I will be more than happy to hand over what I have and issue a refund. I still have the money in my Paypal, as I don't remove it until I'm finished, so that would not be a problem at all.
Thank you guys for your concerns - I'm doing my best to rest and recover, though the docs told me it'd be a month or more to heal after I got the tubes taken out of my back, since they want me to heal from the inside out, to prevent further infection.

We sooo need a way to customize FA's filters...
Posted 11 years agoI have no problem with people being interested in scat/watersports and the like, however my stay here would be much improved by being able to block prolapsed anuses shitting for miles from showing up on the front page for me and staying there until enough people during the slow time of day are able to push it off the list of new submissions.
They have every right to be there, every right to be able to post. I just wish there was some way for me to go "I don't want to see this" without having to shut off all adult artwork. I love penises, vaginas, and even anal sex. I don't like poop, and it makes me feel kinda queasy, so I'd like to be able to go "yeah, I don't want to look at this" without at the same time giving the impression that I don't want FA to allow it.
FA - customizable keyword block list please!

Home at last
Posted 11 years agoI am home.
I got the boot around 2pm, with a list of things to buy to keep myself comfortable at home. A robe, some slippers, medication, wound dressings, etc.
Went to visit the boy's mom and dad. Of course they're trying to blame the whole thing on my cat. Claiming that the cat gave it to me and I should get rid of her. Pretty much did a "fuck that, the doc said that MRSA is the most common infection, AND a quarter of the population just carries it on their skin at any given time" - just much nicer... which means get rid of the 'fuck that' - it's just that they don't like that I have a cat because cat hair gets on their son's furniture. That's literally it. They want me to get rid of her because they don't think he's clean enough with her in the house.
IN ANY CASE. After standing around for a bit, my back was hurting so we went to grab my meds and something to eat. Doc told me to get some saline solution to flush my back with. Said it'd be on the shelf at any pharmacy. Guess what? It's not. Because some fucktards decided it would be a great idea to start injecting themselves with it and people decided it was dangerous.
Called the hospital and they called the doc... doc couldn't believe it. He said that tap water would work, but the boy was dubious and so he bought distilled water instead, figuring it had less 'stuff' in it that might irritate things.
From there, we hit up the McD's and I ate about five chicken nuggets and maybe ten french fries before feeling full, and took my meds.
ON TO WALMART
Got my robe (it is comfy), could not find giant loose night pants, so I'm just going without. No shame right now, I'm in pain. Found some large t-shirts though that look really comfy, so that's a nice bonus. Got the distilled water from walmart too - and grabbed a nice thing of cotton balls just in case.
Now I'm just chilling out, on some percocet, and a barrage of antibiotics (three at a time, four times a day for now, then later three at a time three times a day). Have an appointment for next week to see if I can get the tubes removed - if so, then yay. If not, then we'll try again in a week.
In the meantime - I'm just trying to relax and keep clean.

Ouchies.
Posted 11 years agoOuch. Tried to take blood again today, and jabbed me four times this time in the same arm. Twice with one girl who basically called me a liar. She took some blood yesterday but not much, and she told me that she didn't put the needle there. I should have left the damn tape and cotton on the spot, but it was annoying me. So she then tried on my hand.... right at my knuckles. :( Between the pinkie and ring on my left hand. Went deep and prodded around a LOT even though I told her it HURT. She said I was dehydrated, so I let her know I've been drinking lots of water, especially last night. She practically rolled her eyes at me.
Second lady came in and tried at my elbow and it just wasn't working out, so she looked at my hand and went in AGAIN where that second lady did at the knuckles. Luckily SHE was able to get the vein first time there.
So far today has started off like shit. They did this right after my pain meds, so it basically feels like I haven't had any. Grumpy right now, and my hand hurts so bad. x___x

More TMI - After Surgery!
Posted 11 years agoOkay, so! Last night was... fun. They didn't get me back until around 5pm, after trying and trying and trying to get an IV in me. Apparently my body was NOT cooperating with any of the nurses or even the IV Therapist. Fun!
They managed to find a good one in the OR though, and got some meds in me that made me feel a bit tipsy. Rolled me to the operating table and had me climb over on to it and get laid down, strapped a mask on me, and gave me another injection... I don't remember anything after they had me get foam between my knees to keep them straight, and a pillow under my head.
Next thing I knew, they were asking me to help them get me to the rolling bed, and off we went to post-op, asking me all kinds of questions over and over again and making sure I stayed awake.
The doc said the operation should take 30 minutes...
It was two and a half hours before I got back to post-op. Still don't know what exactly happened to make it that bad, but that's because I haven't seen the doc again yet.
They want to discharge me tomorrow - the infectious diseases specialist was telling me that he's pretty sure it's staph, and that depending on if it's normal or resistant (MRSA), I'll need a different kind of medication. They weren't going to know until Friday, however apparently THIS GUY KNOWS WHATS GOING ON when I tell him they took a freaking culture at the ER Saturday. Everyone else was claiming that Mercy doesn't work with them or share info with them and I'm like "I thought they were supposed to?" - this guy was all "All it takes is a single piece of paper for you to sign, that will make this much quicker" - and bam. We should have the results tomorrow so I can have appropriate medication before I go home.
So for now, I have an incision on my left, right, and right in the middle, with four tubes sticking out, two in the middle and one on each side. Two pockets to heal.
They say it's going to take a month or so to heal - since it has to heal from the bottom up. Hence the tubes, to keep air going down there.
Here's hoping that they'll give me some good pain meds when I leave. These tubes are actually stitched to my skin right now so every little wrong twist or turn gives little stabbing pains. Ouch.

Posted 11 years agoThey've poked me three times, this last time they had a vein and it blew right when they hooked me up to the iv machine. Had to abort mission, we'll see if they can get one in me in the OR. :(
Update: Panic Intensifies.
Posted 11 years agoI'm going in for surgery today, ASAP. Packing things now. They're cleaning the room and want us in by 12:30.
So much stress.
Good news is, they're going to put me under general anesthesia.
Bad news is, I've never been put under before and this is all terrifying to me, and they're going to have me sitting around for a week with an open (apparently painful) wound in my back. Ew.

Ohgod ohgod, panic panic (gross abscess warning)
Posted 11 years agoSo like, as soon as I got back from AC I felt a little uncomfortable - on my back, my spine specifically. Thought it was a bug bite or spider bite or something...
Well, no matter what it WAS, it is now a bad infection.
Went to the ER Saturday because I couldn't handle it anymore. They jabbed a needle all the way into the abscess until they got blood, then squeezed the fuck out of it, to the point where it actually squirted all over his scrubs.. and he wasn't even half way done. :(
There was lots of screaming, lots of hurting, and I... don't know if I could do that again.
The problem is, I might HAVE TO. The redness has spread across my back width-wise. It's inflamed and sore (and I have a nice grapefruit sized bruise in my back from Dr. Combat Boots). I'm pretty sure this time I'm going to have to have my back cut open, and tubes put in.
The discharge instructions stated that if it got worse, go to the ER, but the surgeon was able to get me in on Tuesday. So... yeah.
Also of concern, after the squeeze-fest that caused the whole ER wing to run to see if anyone needed help (not even joking, someone even started gagging), I started getting a fever. I blew it off as me just overreacting and raising my own temp by panicking (I seriously hyperventilated before he even touched it with the needle - I am honest to Dog terrified of needles and pain).
Temp reached 103 Sunday, and the boy was really worried. Fortunately it went down to just slightly above and below 100 today. Of concern is that the fever hasn't actually broken, but simply gone down.
Kinda worried about that, because I'm thinking the ER doc might have introduced the infection into my blood stream.
Sooo now I'm just kinda panicked. I can't handle that scale of pain again. I just can't. Would not do again.
Unfortunately, I also don't want to get gangrene and die. So there's also that.
Hoping they'll have the culture analyzed and can tell whether or not I can even be put under. What I wouldn't give for a general anesthesia. They typically do local, apparently, however the squeezing is just as painful as before, and that was the worst thing ever. Ever ever.
So yeah... even if they CAN do a general, I don't know if my insurance would cover it. I need to look up how much that would cost.
However, I do have to say I am thankful as fuck for Obamacare. Romneycare. Whatever you wanna call it, since it's basically what Romney implemented in his state. Screw politics, I get insurance, damnit. My medication was completely covered and I am SO happy about that, you have no idea. Even if the Norco leaves me light-headed and wobbly, at least the pain is dulled and I can sleep.
ANYWAY. That's how my weekend has been so far. Yay! Panic attacks about pretty much guaranteed lancing tomorrow!
At least it'll all be over, either way, soon.
Sickly feeling and panicked for now, though.

Baaack from AC
Posted 11 years agoWell, I made it back earlier, however I immediately passed out, so this is the first chance I've gotten to turn on my PC. :P
I had a great time, spending the majority of it behid
Rukis' table. Was all good, and much laughter was had - even bought myself an OTBP hardcover the first morning, and the boy bought me one of those very pretty OTBP necklaces. I wish I could have afforded one of the Red Lantern collars, as those are nifty, but the Medium was big on me anyway and the smalls were sold out waaay too fast anyway, so that saved me from making bad life choices... for myself, I'm sure Rukis wouldn't have thought it was a bad choice! ;)
In any case, I did sell some of my stickers, but not too many. I also didn't take any commissions, even to take home, this con, so it was a major money sink for me, and we're trying to figure out expenses now - however, we're not hurting really, just dug into savings a little more than we wanted to - but I'd say I still came out ahead in experience, as usually I'm sitting behind an Artist Alley table, working as hard as I can on on-demand drawings all day, every day, and don't really get the chance to talk to anyone or see anything. So I'd say overall, I do enjoy working a Dealer's booth than trying to make ends meet in the Alley. Something about not having to worry about making my own ends meet, takes a lot of stress off. I like it. :P
Aaaaand as a note, I do realize I didn't sell too many stickers because I didn't have a wide variety. I hit a sort of mental wall until the last day (thanks, muse. Good job there.) and didn't have Puck, Puck x Ransom, or Grayson available yet. I'm definitely going to be working on those, however, as I have to make sure I get Rukis her copies.
The fox even had fun, too, and said that it was totally worth the time and finances to do this, and I'm looking forward to coming back again next year and booth-sitting, and seeing all the faces and people again. I'm really an introvert at heart, but when it comes to people I share interests with, it's really nice to actually get to socialize a bit... even if it leaves me physically drained at the end of the day.

A little update...
Posted 11 years agoI haven't been able to do much, recently.
My shoulder has been killing me for a week and a half now. Every now and then my arm goes numb from my shoulder down. My RIGHT arm. My DRAWING arm.
I'm pretty sure it's a pinched nerve. I had one once in my lower back, made me unable to use my legs one day. That one I was able to go to the doctor for, and was able to get rid of it with muscle relaxants.
This one though... augh. Since no medical insurance, and the fact that it's just my arm, and not my ability to move or walk, I'm just waiting it out. Unfortunately, just because my shoulder blade, shoulder, and arm hurt.. doesn't mean that there's any less work around the house that has to be done by the only person around to do it - aka me. Laundry, food, taking care of the cat. So my arm's already stressed as it is by the time I get around to art.
Don't get me wrong! I'm still working on it, and if requested will post more WIPs to prove it. I'm just really really slow about it because I can't stand my shoulder for too long, since the only time it doesn't hurt, is when I'm laying down on that side. :/
Again, I do apologize, and I AM working. Just not as fast as I usually can. I'm so sorry.
Full refunds will be given to anyone who wants them. It's not your fault that this happened, and I understand if you want to get a piece from someone with a bit more time (and health) on their side. Just message me if you would like to request one. You can have the artwork done up until this point as well. Again, I am so very sorry.

Posted 11 years agoIt has been twenty-six turns around the celestial star, riding upon this ever spinning ball of rock and water and various other elements, which so graciously spawned the organisms upon which our ancestral path began their journey to the creatures we have become today.
I am grateful for each and every one that I experience, as it would be one more that I would never have believed I would survive this harsh reality beyond eighteen, for various unspecified reasons.
Rejoice, and partake in beverages crafted from fine fruits and other diverse varieties if you so prefer. Indeed, I may even provide a delicious pastry of either chocolate or vanilla, to sate the cravings for sweet confections that often occurs with this annual celebration and share these delightful acquisitions with friends.

Hey guys, it's mah birthday again. Happy to be here. Gonna have some cake and maybe some drinks with the people I live with. Woo.

Pay What You Want commissions
Posted 11 years agoSerious inquiries only, please.
Anything is up for grabs, if you make a non-silly offer (no, I won't do a painterly portrait with intricate background for $1 - sorry; however, for $20 I could do the portrait itself, though it might not be as detailed).
First come, first served.

Posted 12 years agoWe applied to rent a gorgeous house, on a years' lease, and if we get the money together to buy it before anyone else buys it off the guy (and he's not really advertising), then we can buy it. :3 I'm excited. We get to move in this coming month. Excitement!
Sigh. Fine. Guess I have to come back to FA
Posted 12 years agoI can't, financially, leave Fur Affinity for good.
AKA I'm not able to get commissions anywhere else, apparently, as the DA kids want everything for free or for "da points" (and not even a decent amount - they want to pay me like, 10 DA points, lolwhat) and Weasyl just... while there are people there, I don't think they're the commissioning type. -_-
So. Here I am. I'm back. Gonna post up a YCH image, see if I can start actually start saving for insurance, since my fillings are falling out. :|

Posted 12 years agoIn case you weren't aware, I have moved over to Weasyl!
I've got commission information set up over there, as well as I've been uploading some new stuff, so please add me if you have a Weasyl too!

Commissions - Closed until further notice
Posted 12 years agoDue to life being, well, life.. and some friends getting hitched and me being a part of the procession and planning, I will not be available for commissions for a while. I'll be sure to make a post when I am though! Apologies for the delay!
Hey. Hey guess what. Guess what.
Posted 12 years agoI'm 25. Or, as my foxy says, "Half way to middle age." :P
Woo barfdays!

Something that bothers me about the internet...
Posted 12 years agoWell, really it's the whole world in general I guess.
Let me tell you a little story.
I go on one of the game sites I frequent (sim game, basically pictures with stats that you can improve over time). The pictures are dynamic, meaning that with each animal you breed, it gets a picture with the color that you bred. They're adding new species all the time, and whatnot.
So I go carouse the forums, and lo and behold, a post looking for artists! How awesome - I like drawing, I like this game, I like helping out... why not apply?
Open post - They simply ask for examples, and point you towards where you're supposed to submit your examples. Nothing more. No mention of compensation, no mention of guidelines, no end date, nothing.
So, I comment in the chatroom, since there's quite a few staff handy in there and I'm the only player active at 3am. It happens, right? I mention that I'm interested in applying, but there's no mention of compensation for the work that would be done... The reply I get? "lol, why should there be any compensation?"
I'm utterly baffled, however this frustration is ended promptly by my seeing that the post was made over a month before I found it - and the places to go submit have been deleted or cleared.
Now that I've told my story - a little rant.
Why the hell would I do WORK for anyone for no pay, let alone something that requires a recolor of every possible color combination available because you don't have layered images?
This whole "lol, it's art, it's not worth anything" or "lol, you expect to get PAID for DRAWING? It's FUN for you, that's your reward!" is just... uugh. It pisses me off to no end. Oh, I guess I should be so grateful that you use my art and get my name out there, that people enjoy it - I shouldn't need any more compensation than that! Right? Wrong. Dead wrong. What's that you say? You LIKE working on cars? Here, mine's broken down. Why don't you fix it for me, for free. You should be grateful you're making me happy, and that my car working shows your handiwork.
*wanders off, grumbling*

Doing laundry, and noticed something...
Posted 12 years agoThose Tide bars that you can put in the dryer are awesome... but they need to revise the label. Unless you're a poor, single college student who only does clothes once or twice a month, they do not last four months. It LIES.
TMI note to artists drawing solo...
Posted 13 years agoCum doesn't come out of anyone's anus without there having been a cock there.
True story.
That's all.

My commissions...
Posted 13 years agoAre currently closed.
Please do not message me asking if I will squeeze you in, accept your commission, or get back to you about a commission you want.
I understand that I haven't posted that my commissions are closed, outright. This is that post letting you know.
Also, the only form of payment I will accept, when commissions are open again, is USD via Paypal. I will not accept your 10 DA points, I will not take money orders, cash, or personal check by mail. I am currently not open for trades, either.
