Just wanted to say,
Posted 13 years agoHappy New Year to all of you, and thank you for your continued support, either through watching, commenting OR commissioning (or all three!) throughout this past year.
I also want to thank ALL of you who have added me to their watch list, or favorited things of mine (You probably won't see this, but hey, might as well)! It's really a bit of a boost of confidence to see those numbers go up. Makes me feel like I am, indeed, making some progress with my work.
Again. Thank you all, and may this coming year be even more awesome for you!

Huh... well that's... interesting.. (Paypal)
Posted 13 years agoApparently, at some point within the last two days, my Paypal account had been limited.
I was never informed that it was limited (checked my spam folder too, just in case). But I did get a notification that the limited status had been removed, and asked to take a survey.
I am now thoroughly confused.
They also requested tax information from me a couple of days ago (my tax ID number). I know I have neither reached the 200 sales or $20,000 total payments limit this year (or probably even totally for the $20k).
But yeah. o.o Generally, I am clueless as to what happened.

Cheap commissions, awesome art, AND helping someone in need?
Posted 13 years agoI personally can't afford to do anything for my friend at this time, but
Jive's stuck in a kind of sticky situation at the moment, and can't afford food even - for himself OR his pets.
He's taking "Pay what you can" commissions, and every dollar counts. Please take a moment to check out his gallery and think about getting a commission if you can afford it.
If not, it would be appreciative if you'd spread the word to help him out.

You know what hurts like hell?
Posted 14 years agoGetting bit by a spider.
You know what hurts worse?
If you happen to have an allergic reaction to that bite.
:|
Boyfriend gets bites all the time on his legs. They don't swell up to grapefruit size and get all infected and shit.
*annoyed*

So, let's try this again, shall we?
Posted 14 years agoNow that hopefully you're all home. I seem to have sorely misjudged when anyone is home during (for me) the day. :P
Let me know you're here!
Now that it's after 5pm my time - should I start up my stream?
If so, what should I be offering today? Should I just keep up with the "pay what you want" stream? Should I do another $3 cute icon stream? Something new?
Throw some suggestions at me!

Yep... I see. Nevermind.

Stream, anyone? :)
Posted 14 years agoEdited, but still. When dealing with me through Paypal...
Posted 14 years agoOkay, so basically... don't include your commission information in Paypal with me. Seriously. If you have to, note me with what email the payment is coming from. That works out just fine for me. Leave everything else blank. :)
ON ANOTHER NOTE. I know sometimes you guys do it trying to be nice, and I know I asked a long time ago for people to do it, but please don't abuse the "send as gift" feature on Paypal. It can get the recipient's account flagged for investigation. Paypal remains open because of those fees they take out. I'm willing to have them take out the fees in order to retain my ability to use the site.

$5 Sketches, anyone? :)
Posted 14 years agoSo yeah. I have a few slots open for $5 sketches, much like the aardwolf in my gallery. Sketched out, shaded, details, etc.
Single character is $5, every additional character after that is $3. No extra for character types or sexual nature, etc. Just good old cheap art.
Any takers?

Welp. My phone's bricked.
Posted 14 years agoYeah. So, guys? If you've lost your glasses and are running around the house looking for them, and decide (desperately) to try and text your S/O, boyfriend/girlfriend, roommate, mom, etc.... hold on to the phone with BOTH HANDS if you're around any water source. Including the toilet that's three feet away. Because inevitably, your phone WILL fall out of your hand when you hit "send" and, consequently, bounce off the counter top and fall into the toilet. And then it will be bricked.
If you're lucky, like myself, you have a warranty on the phone that actually covers water damage.
We're gonna try and see if we can go over and get it fixed/replaced, tomorrow. IF the boyfriend gets out of work before they close. Which is, unfortunately, unlikely. Due to his workplace being full of jerkfaces who won't let him leave on time.
And before you say "well at least that's overtime!" - yeah. It's UNPAID overtime. Because he's salaried. :| Not everyone gets time and a half.

So what did YOU do today, Roc?
Posted 14 years agoWell, first my stomach decided it hated me.
Then, I curled up to die on the couch for a while.
After I came back to life, I SERIOUSLY lost my glasses. As in, I knew where I put them, and they weren't there anymore.
THEN. THEN. I DROP MY SMARTPHONE. IN THE TOILET.
Good news? I found my glasses. Someone moved them for me, onto a desk that is not mine and I haven't been near all day. :|
Other good news? I think my Android is still under warranty.

Splitting accounts...
Posted 14 years agoSo... I've seen a lot of people do it before. Create a new account, move all their (insert criteria) art over to the other account, delete that art from their original account, and go on submitting their art to either account, depending on the criteria.
I'm just wondering... what do YOU people think about this? Do you think it's a good idea? Bad idea? Is it great for those who don't want to see XYZ, or does it seem underhanded like they're trying to lie to you about who they are/what they do?
I'm just... real curious. xD

Next Stream - What do you want to see?
Posted 14 years agoFor those of you who watch me, you know that I do random 'specials' in my streams, where you get art on the spot for a generally cheaper price than if you had regularly commissioned me. These deals are only available during my stream, and the only deals available are the ones I posted for the evening. SO!
My questions:
Do you like this idea?
Do you want to see me stream more often?
What kind of deals in particular do you like to see?
What kind of deals would you like to see in the future?
And please, include anything else you'd like to add! I love hearing you guys' opinions.

New PC!
Posted 14 years agoWell, everything went smoothly, and I now have a new PC. Sadly, it has Windows 7 on it, whereas I prefer XP, but it'll do!
The manlyfox says that it'll only be mine until we get me a NEW PC though.
Transfer of data went simply enough - hook up the old hard drive temporarily, with the new one still hooked into the new PC (so, two hard drives), and then copy everything from my user folder on the old hard drive, into a new folder on the new PC's desktop :P
So, yay! :D
Now for the fun of re-downloading the drivers I've been using, as well as re-downloading Steam and the other games. o.o

Sooo... I blew out my video card. o.o
Posted 14 years agoThe one I just got... that just passed it's warranty point.
I was just trying to play Eve with my boyfriend. o.o
Soo... now I'm back to factory settings, and I'm afraid to use Photoshop because I've seen what it can do (my old e-machine's video card would die within five minutes of running Photoshop 7, which is what I'm using now).
Good news? Tonight I get a whole new machine! :D
Bad news - I'm wondering how the hell I'm going to get the stuff off of this one, on to that one. ^^;
Edit:
My boyfriend is a tech guy, that's why I'm getting a new machine :P He's got one on stand-by. He'll transfer all my stuff, I'm just kind of... wowed at the moment that a single game blew out my new video card. xD

Okay, no, really. Home from Anthrocon - Report!
Posted 14 years agoSo! Report!
Got there Thursday after spending 3 hours or so in transit. Stopped first at the hotel to drop off our stuff, and then hit up the 'con. Due to not knowing if we could go or not, we waited until last minute to get a hotel... and we ended up getting one about thirty minutes away from the con. Not really all that bad, considering I actually got to go.
The hotel room... stank of cigarettes. The only rooms any place had available were smoking rooms. But we made it work.
After arriving at the Convention Center on Thursday, we wandered over to the registration line...
Well. We would have wandered to the line, had there even been a line. :P There was no wait, we got directly to a computer, signed up, and got paid for very quickly. The pre-reg line was still hella-busy, too, which made me giggle.
After signing up, we went over to the Zoo area, and wandered around to see if there was anyone I knew. Turns out - not really. :/ And it seems with the falling-out with my ex-boyfriend (omgz, better not say he was my boyfriend, despite being with him for four years, sleeping in the same bed, cooking him food, and doing everything with him!), came a bit of... well, for lack of better words, disinterest from his friends that I happened to be in good standing with before hand.
Ohwell. Life goes on, I guess.
After not finding much of anyone, we headed back to the hotel, since I wanted to be up early to sign up for the Artist Alley.
Friday, got up at 6.... well... I did. :P The foxie had to be coerced into a semi-cognitive state, after two hours of negotiations. So, around 8am, we got up and got food, and headed to the con. Arrived early enough to sign up for the Alley, but had to wait about 30 minutes in line. Which is why I wanted to leave earlier than we did. Ohwell. :P Was gonna be sitting on my ass all day anyway!
Got into the alley, got set up, and after about thirty minutes of no interest in my table, I ran over to give
Rukis her case of DrPepper, and
FaroreNightclaw her adorable little sculptures I did for her. Headed back to my table, and managed to get three commissions before the end of the day, netting me $45 to take home. Yay!
The line to wait for payout was stupid crazy long. Like, an hour and a half standing in line (no joke, I kept tabs..) long. Apparently due to one of the registers not... well... registering.
Ohwell! After that, I was starving. @_@ We went out and got some good foods, and then went back to the hotel to pass out for the night.
Saturday morning, around 6AM, I checked the con website to see if I had gotten into the Artist Alley. My name wasn't listed, so I passed out and didn't get up until around 11am. We got up, dressed, ate... and while at lunch, the Foxie pointed out that I wasn't on the waiting list to get a table, either.
At that point, it was too late to really do anything about it, so we just went to the con and wandered around a bit. Turned over a sketchbook I had been working on the night before, and got to see the fursuit parade.
Stopped at the Alley table to find out that my name had, indeed, been called that morning. But since I wasn't there, it was knocked to the bottom of the list. I explained that I had checked the website, and it seems that the list on the site was from last year. @_@ I was following the instructions on the information packet I was given on Friday. Didn't matter, though, cause I had a great time just hanging out with my foxielove.
Went back to the hotel early, since we planned on getting to Con early on Sunday anyway.
Sunday was great. Woke up on time, ate breakfast, got into the Alley sign-ups right as they were starting to call names, and got a table. Headed into the Alley, and got a few commissions done before hunger hit both myself and my fox, and we went to grab a quick bite to eat before I headed back to shove my face into my work again.
Finished that Alley session with $60 in my pocket. Was going to go to Closing Ceremonies, but that was already more than halfway over, so instead we went ahead and got on the road. Since we got out before the closing ceremonies were over, there was little to no traffic, and we had a really short drive home - only 2 hours home, as opposed to the 3 hours or so in. Amazing timing.
So! To recap for those of you who are all "ZOMG TL;DR" - Went to con, had a great time, spent too much goddamned money, and everything I own that went with me now smells funny. x3

AnthroCon, ahoy!
Posted 14 years agoPosting from my phone, on my way to AnthroCon! Be there in just a few hours to register, after we check into the hotel room!
Looks like we're going.
Posted 14 years agoSo yeah. My boy asked his parents for a loan until the money's refunded into the account (Priceline told him "well depending on your bank, it'll be five to seven days before that money's given back"). So yeah.
I'm still stressed. x_x I shouldn't be. I should relax and realize that everything'll be fine but I just... it aggravates me to no end. I wonder how many people these guys screw over by doing this shit...
