Quick Thought on The Bad Guys 2
Posted a month agoI gotta admire Bad Guys 2 for gleefully indulging in a sort of cutesy grown-up sexuality that I'm certain various puriteens found cringe-y.

Visit my article over at https://www.infurnation.com/2025/05.....ners-for-2024/ to find out more. Congrats to all the winners and nominees -- including FurAffinity!
Hit Pig
Posted 11 months agoOkay, so, Hit Pig was a pleasant surprise. Yes, it's silly, it's childish, it had WAY too much bodily fluid humor for my taste. But for a "cheap indie" film, it certainly did NOT scrimp on the animation at all. It was gorgeous.
PawCon
Posted a year agoI'm looking to share a room at PawCon in San Jose this November. Anyone know anyone who's going...?
Thoughts on Veterans Day
Posted 2 years agoThis and every Veterans Day, I think about a Vietnam veteran I heard speak at a presentation some time ago.
He told us a story about a speech he gave once, where after the talk a young boy came up to him and announced that he wanted to be a soldier when he grew up. The veteran asked him why he wanted to do that.
The young boy promptly answered, "Because I want to be a hero!"
The veteran looked the boy straight in the eyes and said, "There is nothing heroic about killing people. >I< have killed people, and I don't feel like a hero for doing it. You want to be a hero? Great. Be the one who figures out a way to solve problems without killing people."

Jaw-Drop Furry Commercial
Posted 2 years agoPuss in Boots returns
Posted 3 years agoGot a chance to see a preview screening of the new Dreamworks animated feature, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. Definitely head out and see this one when it premiers, just before Christmas. Not only is it a great adventure film -- darker than you expect it to be in places -- but it's quite likely the furriest film ever in the Shrek universe. And the Wolf... he could give the head Bad Guy a run for his money.
The Bad Guys
Posted 3 years agoNo Spoilers. The Bad Guys turned out to be even better than I expected it to be -- and I had pretty high expectations going in!

New Turtles Artist
Posted 3 years agoI don't know if people have been following the recent IDW TMNT series (plural), but my gosh... Jodi Nishijima is one hell of a furry artist.

Sing 2
Posted 4 years agoJust got back from a preview screening of Sing 2, which included a Q & A with the director, Garth Jennings. No spoilers here. Just this:
See it. Do not wait for streaming, do not wait for the DVD. If you can do so at all safely, see this on the big screen. Trust me.

Riverdance -- the movie
Posted 4 years agoSo I watched a (probably pirated) copy of Riverdance: The Animated Adventure on YouTube. It's probably not up there for long. The copy was TERRIBLE.
Now as for the movie... it was very silly, very dumb, very strange... and I Loved It!
And oh-my-gosh... Patrick, the lead Irish Elk, is sooooo yummy! ^^

Posted 4 years agoAnimated Music Video for 2021
Posted 5 years agoThis year I want to get serious about an animated music video I've wanted to work on for a long time now. I've written the script, now I'm trying to get character designs and storyboards. If you like the idea of animation that combines Disney's Rescuers with Bakshi's Wizards, talk to me ^^
Veteran's Day
Posted 5 years agoI have said this before, and I will keep saying it on this day until I die, because it is perhaps the greatest thing I have ever heard a veteran say:
"If you truly want to honor us, don't thank us. Make us obsolete."

Looking for Artists for an Animated Music Video
Posted 5 years agoI'm looking for artists to help me out with a long-simmering animated music video project that I've scripted. Specifically I'm looking for help with character design and storyboarding. And yes, I'm looking to pay.
One set of characters look like they're from Disney's The Rescuers. The other set of characters look like something out of Bakshi's Wizards.
The kind of thing you like to draw? Let me know. Or feel free to point me at someone.

RIP, My Father
Posted 5 years agoI was just informed by my stepmom that my father passed away early this morning (August 19th) after a lengthy illness. He died peacefully, which is nice, cuz I know that he's been struggling the last few years. Prayers for Charles Edward Stansfield and his family are appreciated. Thank you.
The Fandom is out
Posted 5 years agoSo, Ash Coyote and her talented crew have released their documentary film "The Fandom", about (what else) Furry Fandom. As part of making it, they extensively interviewed my lifemate and myself (as well as many, many other people).
I have the first words in this film, and the last words in this film. I will be blushing until the day I die. What an honor. Thank you to everyone who helped make this film happen.

2020 Ursa Major Awards for 2019
Posted 5 years agoHelp the Ursa Major Awards
Posted 5 years agoThe Ursa Major Awards, Furry Fandom's answer to the Hugo Awards ™ or the People's Choice Awards, have been around for nearly two decades. (Visit www.ursamajorawards.org if you haven't already!) And now, time being what it is, some of the folks who've been spending many of those years helping to make the awards happen every year are looking to retire. [No, I'm not one of them yet!] In fact, several people involved already HAVE retired -- or passed away. And so, those of us who want to see the awards carry on into the future are now looking for some new help! And so, we are putting out a call for new members of the Anthropomorphic Literature and Arts Association (ALAA), the organization that puts on the awards every year. Our all-volunteer organization makes collective decisions on how the awards move forward, helps to secure funding (for our beautiful award trophies, among other things), and does the work necessary to make this all happen. It's not a great deal of work, but it does require a real commitment and some genuine interest. Sound like something that fluffs your fur at all? Send me a message and I'll fill you in on more details. And, thank you.
Art Show Up and Running
Posted 6 years agoAnd after a few years away... we're back! The Art of Furry Fandom returns to the AvantGarden Art Gallery on Broadway in Santa Ana, CA. And not for one month, but TWO! We're on display for For Sale 'til the end of September. I'll be there Friday August 2nd for their Open Mic, and Saturday August 3rd for the Santa Ana Art Walk. Come see!
Last Chance!
Posted 6 years agoLast chance, furry artists! We're hanging The Art of Furry Fandom this coming Sunday in Santa Ana. If you have any pieces you'd like to be a part of it, please get in touch with me right away! [And even if you don't, if you're in Southern California come on by the AvantGarden during the 1st Saturday Santa Ana Art Walk!]
Time for another Furry Art Show
Posted 6 years agoHello! Once again we've made arrangements with the Avant Garden Art Gallery in Santa Ana (at their new location on Broadway) for a month-long Art of Furry Fandom display. If you're an artist living in Southern California (or an artist who can GET your stuff to us in SoCal!) we would love to display and try to sell your work. We're looking for framed original works or framed limited-edition numbered prints. Best of all: No cost to you, other than getting it to us! The show is through the month of August.
