A bit of an update
General | Posted a year agoSo I continue my trend of rarely posting journals, since apparently my last one was 4 years ago now!
Quite a bit has changed in that time. I've changed jobs, moved into a new place and at the start of this year I actually started working seriously on writing a novel. As of the time of this journal, I'm close to completing chapter 9 of my first draft, and have written more than 36,000 words. In working on the first draft, my aim is not to edit as I go, but rather just push through getting an entire first draft completed before I go back to do re-writes. By the time I finish the first draft, I should be a better writer than I was at the start. Or at least that's the theory.
I've been getting feedback as I go from a small group of friends, who I have been giving the book to in 3 chapter chunks as I progress, which has proved helpful with not just story elements, but also with the more technical aspects of my writing. I've been debating on if I should post any sections publicly to get some additional feedback, and potentially also get a little bit of publicity going, though it's likely to be quite some time before I'm ready to try and publish.
In terms of the novel itself, it's a military sci-fi novel set in a setting of my own imagining. While it does contain anthro characters (Including Chris, naturally), it's not a 'furry' novel explicitly and I have an in-setting explanation as to how and why anthro characters exist. It's been an interesting process so far, and quite enjoyable. Particularly getting some of Chris' story out of my head and into words.
Other than that, I should probably re-do my user profile here at some point. The existing one is kinda awful looking, and rather out of date. For one, Chris is Chris now, rather than Rogue. And I do actually have art of a second character in the gallery, in the form of Kim, my Jaguar gal. I'll see if I get around to it any time soon!

COVID Lockdown and YouTube
General | Posted 5 years agoSo, I don't exactly post journals often here. In fact, my last one was 5 years ago apparently!
With being in lockdown on account on the global pandemic, and being unable to run at the moment due to a couple of injuries I'm carrying, I've been looking for something to do to keep my occupied. So, I've started a YouTube channel! I'll be internet famous in no time.
Mostly I'm going to do gaming videos, since... well, I game a bunch. Aside from a World of Warships test video, my first real content is a RimWorld lets play series. Go check it out and do all that lovely like and subscribe stuff so that YouTube thinks I'm popular and promotes my vids more!

Things to know about Rogue
General | Posted 10 years agoSo I've got quite a few pictures of Rogue these days, in quite a wide variety of styles, but there isn't really a definitive guide for drawing her, or a character reference sheet. Perhaps some day I'll find an artist who can do her a ref sheet, but in the mean time here's a few things to know about her, for the definitive cheetah experience.
Rogue is not actually her name, it's more of a nickname.
Her eyes are grey.
Her hair is a dark, coppery red colour. Yes, it's natural.
She usually wears her hair tied back in some sort of pony tail.
Her spots are black.
She's plantigrade.
She has smaller breasts. (Around a B cup or so)
She's really rather muscular.
She's from a military sci-fi setting, originally.
She's been military or a mercenary most of her life.
She generally wears fatigue pants or shorts, sports bras and teeshirts.
She carries a Smith & Wesson .500 (4" barrel version). Mostly as an affectation.
She likes girls. (Sorry boys!)
She practices Brazilian Jui Jitsu, and Muay Thai boxing.
She doesn't do cute.
There's probably more, but that's the gist of it. Perhaps one day I'll get a novel finished and you can read more about her, if you particularly want to.

Activity?
General | Posted 12 years agoWell... maybe. I haven't done much of anything with this account, maybe I should. Shinnie keeps telling me I should draw... I haven't picked up a pencil in years, and I was never exactly what you could call good. Also... work. It seems to dominate my life recently. We shall see.
