Hi FA!!

It's been a long time. It's been a long time. I've had a lot of space to grow up, learn about myself, and just Be an Adult. I used to draw a lot of problematic transformation kink art in order to deal with my dysphoric feelings, and a lot of that was really disrespectful to my friends and to trans folks in general (so I'm probably not going to draw that ever again, lol). All that being said, let's start over.

Hi, I'm Rolly! I'm a queer bisexual trans woman in my 30's and 100% not a straight dude. I've been transing my gender for about 4 years, I'm out at every major institution I'm involved with, and it's become a focal point for my life and my politics. I'm really excited to get more involved with FA and start doing art again (since we're in coronavirus hell anyways). If you're having shitty gender feels reach out to me because queer theory and gender politics are SO interesting omg.

Anyways, in order to motivate me to draw a little more, I've been doing concept type stuff for a comic I'd like to start up. I'm still hammering out the kinks for a decent story, but hopefully by the end of the week I'll at least have a sketch to throw up. If nothing else, this will be some extensive training in anatomy.

Hi I'm in Taiwan as of writing this. Why does google.com always redirect to google.com.tw? I can't search for porn that way! I should probably see what porn I can look at that doesn't end with me getting the chop if I'm caught (when you get to the Taipei airport, the first sign you are greeted with is "DRUG TRAFFICKING IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH"). 13 hour flights suck. Apparently, the way back is supposed to be 15 hours. My laptop battery lasts... an hour and a half. There are no wall sockets on the plane except in the BATHROOM of all places! D: D: D:

Oh, and don't expect any pictures for the time being. I will be too busy sweating and not drawing to draw and scan. Oh, also no scanner. So there's that too.

It is about 90-something degrees at this particular moment at 1:00 in the morning. The A/C only heats up 1/10th of this room. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 100 and fuck degrees out. I cannot wait, I am so excite. TANK TOOOOOOOOPS and SHOOOOOOOOOOORTS.

By this time tomorrow, I will be sitting in the airport wading through security and crowds of people to jump on a plane to Taiwan. I should have some flavor of internet to stay up to date on FA going on's, and.... oh jesus I have not taken into account just how hung over I am at the moment. tl;dr going to Chinaland be back in a year, hopefully see people on Steam.

My cat Taboo, a 14 year old American short hair, had to be put down yesterday. He had been suffering from diabetes for the past three months, and he was finally at the point where keeping him alive would have been even worse than ending his suffering.

I've had two cats before this, but I never got to see them die, as they were both about 500 miles east at the time. This was my first time seeing an animal euthanized, and boyhowdy it was not fun. I already miss the little bugger, but like everyone said: It really was his time to go.

If any of you folks have seen the films Paprika or Millennium Actress, or watched the series Paranoia Agent, then you've seen this dude's work.

Unfortunately, this fellow has just passed away recently at the young age of 47 after a battle with cancer. Kinda a lot of depressing, he was an excellent director and will be missed. He had a way of telling psychological thriller stories that can't really be matched by others in today's world.

That journal was SO six months ago. So I have finals in two days, but instead of studying I'm gonna say words on this page.

One of the major differences I've noticed between FurAffinity and DeviantArt is the severe lack of constructive criticism on FA. I've talked about this with a couple other folks, and apparently lots of people don't take too kindly to those shenanigans.

I am not most people. Please please PLEASE! Tell me what I'm doing wrong! If I didn't have people telling me how Godawful I was doing with my anatomy, line-work, etc. then I wouldn't be at the point I am today: I'm at a position where I both love and hate my artwork. I think it looks snazzy, but lots of you folks can see the flaws that I pass over because it's something I created.

Of course I'm not asking people to say "Shit sux, fail moar nub." Quite the contrary, I would prefer some direction about my artwork. I hate making the same mistake over and over again, but I'm doomed to do it if I don't know what the mistake is!

Also never drink Rockstar's orange and guava energy juice drink. It's pretty close to the most disgusting fruit-based beverage I've consumed.

Gonna be 21 next Sunday. I cannot wait to completely destroy my liver and all it stands for.

I'm gonna pretend to be a Demoman and spawncamp all my buddies. BRB.

Most of you will recognize me from the TFP server on Team Fortress 2. Usually main Heavy, but Soldier is nice now and again.

Imageshack has pissed me off for the last time, and I think that this would be a better way to garner some feedback. That, and I like that FA has a little more freedom compared to DA in terms of more... graphic works. SO. I will be uploading my various stupid crap throughout the week.

One more thing to mention about my uploads: I typically judge my works by how much effort went in, and if they're not super awesome I won't put em in the actual "Art" category. Short answer, check my scraps often.
