Moving to a new account.
Posted 4 years agoI have decided to move to a new FA account and can be accessed right here:
https://www.furaffinity.net/user/thepilotdogee/
The reason for the move because since I have changed my OC's name in which this account was named after, there is no sense in keeping it around anymore since I'm not using it, and its quite an eyesore (As of this writing no one here on FA can change their usernames).
There is also another reason why;
Let me be clear that I am not deleting this account, as I rather leave it up for archival purposes. As I have stated many times before, I am not proud of how I started out in the fandom. I did some terrible things reguarding my art and I am still trying to atone. This account will remain up as a reminder that I still need to hold myself accountable for how I started out in this fandom.
The art I had here on this account will be moved to the new one, but the past journals will remain here. Someone around here may learn from my mistakes and hopefully not repeat them.

I have removed the Soup Store meme comic
Posted 4 years agoI have decided to remove the soup store meme comic. The reason why is because recently, it occured to me that I have made a huge mistake in the making of that comic: the three videos on youtube that influenced the comic were referenced for the art and I went way too far in the art referencing. A number of the comic pages were too similar to some of the videos, and copied some of the poses and compositioning. Although I have credited the original videos and their timestamps for the sources, it was wrong of me to copy of something that isn't mine in the first place. So I determined that its appropriate that I remove the entire comic and redraw most of it. In addition, I have made a number of changes to my earlier artwork so they don't look too similar to the sources I have previously listed for each of them. As usual, I will still credit my sources of inspirations. It is only right that you know where I get my ideas from.
I am very sorry about all this and to the original artists for the youtube videos. I already mentioned this before but I'm disgusted with myself with thinking that copying other people's work was okay. I talked about redeeming myself as an artist and as a person before and I am still committed to doing that.
I hope you understand that I am trying to atone for my past actions. And I won't blame you for unfollowing me because of my past behavior so I won't hold that against you. Considering the shitty things regarding my art before, I don't deserve the followers anyway.

Changes to my OC
Posted 4 years agoI have decided to make some design changes to my OC. Although he is inspired from different characters from Digimon, Pokemon, and the Sonic franchises, some of his original design influences came from a furry character that is problematic in the furry fandom and I don’t feel good about it. (I will not be mentioning the OC's name as I dont want to give more attention to this character or risk starting a fight with the original artist). So I eliminated as much of these design inspirations as best I could while retaining the cute puppy design. You can see the changes made to the design on the ref sheet now:

In addition, I have also decided to drop the “Ronald” part of his name in exchange for the name “Rodney.” The name came from the character in the cartoon Squirrel Boy and figures this makes more sense as both characters are very derpy and get into trouble a lot. And he would also share the name of “Rodney Copperbottom” from that 2005 Robots movie, and I love robots. Plus, in the long run, I want my OC to drive a fast racing mecha, basically a “hot rod” robot. Get it? “ROD-ney” driving a hot rod?
I am also dropping the nickname “Ronny” and instead change it to “R.J.” Aside from the nickname’s cool factor, the nickname originates from the main character from that Dreamworks movie Over The Hedge. That RJ started out with a terrible personality but undergoes some character development that makes him more likable. That kind of character arc lines up with what I have planned for my OC; start him out as an annoying troublemaker (a la Naruto) and have him realize his mistakes and develops into a better person. Basically, a redemption arc like what Star Wars likes to do.
Now if only I can change my username here on FA to reflect that…
Edit: I have made the decision to change RJ's surname to "Radruff." (pronounced "Rad-Ruff"). Figured that Rodney Radruff Jr. (or "R.J. Radruff") sounds cooler.

YES YES YES! (Live Action Gundam)
Posted 4 years agohttps://www.ign.com/articles/netfli.....erts-directing
From what I am hearing, the director who did Kong: Skull Island is doing this one. But I have so many questions. Is it set in any of the Gundam timelines? (The TV Shows universes) or is this an original universe created specifically for the movie? Who will be playing the main protagonist? And what will the titular Gundam will look like?

Comic Removal and Rewrite
Posted 4 years agoI deleted one of my comics as I feel that its too cringe and offensive. Originally, it features Kelly yelling at Ronny for something inappropriate and slaps him across the face. While I am happy to see Ronny get what he deserved in the comic, I feel that the context behind Kelly's face slapping to him needed to be changed as the way the situation comes across is just too creepy, so I am doing a rewrite of the comic.
Before anyone asks, no.... no one yelled at me for said comic by the time of this writing. Its original incarnation is a mistake and the comic's removal and rewrite is a decision I made on my own so its my belief its for the best.

My thoughts on WandaVision (SPOILERS)
Posted 4 years agoSo I know that WandaVision ended like, a few weeks ago, and Falcon & Winter Soldier just aired its first episode. I might talk about that show down the line perhaps? But right now, I just want to quickly go over what I liked about WandaVision, and what I didn't like...
Be warned that there be some spoilers for those who havent seen the show.
The Good:
The show takes place after Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. In Infinity War, we see Vision die thanks to Thanos. Although Thanos is defeated in Endgame, Wanda is left without her boyfriend because... well... he's dead. The show does a great job with exploring Wanda's grief, her pain, her suffering after losing Vision. Its so bad for her that she literally enslaved a town to create her own little world, and her own version of Vision.
Since Wanda grew up watching sitcoms from throughout history, she made her world athstetically similar to the shows she wached. Most of the episodes have openings that pay homage to classic shows like Malcome in the Middle, Family TIes, Dick van Dyke, and Modern Family. Plus, the episodes where they pay tribute to the TV era's were done pretty well. In between these "sitcom segments" are moments where the characters realize not all is what it seems to be.
I alos love that they included past side characters from other MCU movies like Jimmy Woo (Ant Man), Monica Rambeau (Captain Marvel), and Darcy Lewis (Thor). Before WandaVision, I didn't care much for these characters. But this show makes you appreciate these people more, and makes revisiting their past scenes in their debut movies more worthwhile.
I also want to apreciate that this might as well be the "Origin Story" of the Scarlet Witch. This show made me realize that throughout Wanda's MCU appearances, she was never refered to the Scarlet Witch name, so its pretty cool that she is given that title at the end, complete with the costume to boot.
The Bad
What I didn't like was how they handled the "Quicksilver" character. At first, we were led to believe that there may be some sort of multiverse thing going on. Why? Because Evan Peters is playing "Quicksilver" in this show! Evan's version of Quicksilver is from the X-Men movies so you think maybe something is at large for introducing mutants to the world? Nah! It turns out that he is some rando maned "Ralph Bohner" (Seriously). Which lead me to thinking, Why? Like, your bringing Evan Peters from the X-Men series into the MCU for a joke?
Honestly, with the time they spent with this Ralph guy, I rather have more time spent with Wanda and Vision instead.
Other Thoughts
I've seen comments about not having this Mehphisto guy in WandaVision. I'm not too aware who this guy is I'll admit, but considering that this is just the beginning of Phase 4, then there is always a chance that he can come in a later project. Its worth noting that since Kevin Feige has gone on record talking about integrating the X-Men in the MCU, so having mutants come into the fray will happen. Its only a matter of when. It is also importatn to remember that this show is called "WandaVision" so naturally, the show should focus on Wanda & Vision. A "Luke Skywalker" styled cameo would be awesome but resolving the story arc for Wanda is very important, so I am glad that is handeled well at the end.
And where does Scarlet Witch go from here? Marvel is gonna have us wait till Doctor Strange 2 comes out, and thats reported to have Wanda in it. EIther way, I am pretty much onboard where does she go from here.

An apology to the furry community...
Posted 4 years agoI feel like I should get this off my chest. When I started drawing furry art, I used to do NSFW "Cub Art" of my characters in the past just to get more views. That was selfish of me. I was more naive and impressionable at the time because I wanted people to like my art but I realized that its a bad decision as it can normalize pedophillia. This is something that I don't want to support going forward and I have since then, moved away from that kind of art. I have already removed that crap from my Inkbunny gallery a few years ago by the time of this writing (and said Inkbunny account I also removed) but I am embarrased to think that drawing that stuff was okay at the time. Today, I condemn Cub Art and pedophillia and I am vehemently against them both. So I apologize for drawing it and I refuse to draw that kind of garbage anymore.
What I drew back then was unacceptable so I am not expecting forgiveness right away. All I can say is that I am working to better myself as an artist and a person. If you are disgusted hearing this, I won't hold it against you. I do hope to earn back that trust one day. For those willing to give me another chance, I really do appreciate it.
Edit: more on that on my twitter :
https://twitter.com/ADogeboi1/statu.....611709952?s=19
Edit 2: I see people telling me that I did nothing wrong and defending what I did, but thats missing the entire point.
The point is to take accountability for my actions, and is something everyone should do. If we dont hold ourselves accountable, how are we gonna move on as a society as a whole?
Are there those who won't forgive? Absolutely, and its their right and I support it. Some may say I am irredeemable and while I disagree, what I did are art sins, so I can't blame them.
What I'm saying is, I am not proud of what I drew in the past and I am disgusted with myself. Please don't defend my actions, dont justify them. I'm the one that is in the wrong here. The actions that I did should not be normalized at all.
Edit 3: And before anyone asks, no, I am not coming back to Inkbunny and posting my artwork there. Sure I could just reestablish myself there and only post SFW art but the site is infamous for NSFW cub and I shouldn't have established myself there in the first place.
If you are one of those people that came from IB and support this horrible kind of art, please either unfollow me on here and twitter or stop supporting NSFW cub.
