Looking for help from fellow Touhou nerds
General | Posted 2 years agoWell this is rather specific and probably kind of old, but I might as well try. Anyone know where I could get a copy of the (first) Extra stage theme of the Touhou fangame Touhou Mashousei ~ Fairies of Sorcery? I haven't had any luck poking around looking for it, but if anyone could help that would be appreciated. It's not a huge deal though, so if you don't know, don't worry about it.
For reference, the track is played in this video from near the beginning to about the 5:20 mark. Thanks.
EDIT: Went and asked a lead I had over on youtube and I was pointed to the song that was surprisingly for another game. But it was the song, so I'm cool with that! For the curious, it's here.

Now a centralized place to host the translation for this webcomic. For those that don't know, it's a mix of a romance and fantasy story centering upon two guys named Tetsuru Nitobe and Sousuke Natsume, written and drawn by the artist Cotton. You can get links to the source site and his twitter through here. I should probably add his pixiv link in there later...
Anyways, hope you enjoy it.

Forever Twenty-One
General | Posted 14 years agoSo, today's my birthday and I turn 23 today. Not that I'll let that stop me from claiming to be 21 in any non-official context. Because you are never too old to go into denial. *-*
But anyways, hope everyone's having fun. I need to find something to dowhile I procrastinate on the job hunt until any of my new games come out.

Today's Dream journal, plus a quick thought
General | Posted 15 years agoToday, I had a bizarre enough dream that I think I should jot it down. It jumps around a lot, but that's how it usually is for me.
*1st scene: I am at some combination of where I went to middle school and elementary school. Everyone's dressed up, passing around Valentines. Somehow or other, I tripped someone, and a PE coach sees. I run away, and the coach later approaches me asking about the pillow I was carrying. It was totally a pretext that I fell for, and I think I was given some official form or other.
*2nd scene: I'm investigating this house with 4 other people. What makes it interesting is that this house is an old Japanese castle, surrounded by either water or lava. There was also a big plastic 火 sitting on a rock outside, and I heard it was put there as to prevent damage or whatever. Anyways, we jump over on rocks, ring the doorbell (?), and the lights go out in the big window by the door (??). A guy greets us, and we go in under the pretext that we're TV repairmen. Two of us go further inside while the rest of us stayed near the entrance to fiddle with the TVs and wires near the door. It all looks so similar to how my god aunt and uncle (or something) furnished there own home. (???)
3rd scene: I'm playing a top down shooter, flying around in turquoise clouds in some nondescript jet. Things are normal enough, aside from the soundtrack done by Yuki Kajiura. It almost sounds like the music in Mahou Shojou Madoka Magica...anyways, the chanting sets in when I come across the midboss or boss, which is this hexagonal ship surrounded by similarly shaped flunkys, with added markings. They're all shooting lighting around, among other projectiles, and the main enemy starts moving in the Z direction (top down shooters only have XY movement). Cue explosions.
Then I was woken up when some guy accidentally reached my cellphone looking for a Rico John or other. And lastly, I found out that my local Borders is likely to close. Goddammit.

漏れなつ released?
General | Posted 15 years agoI'm not sure how many people who watch me know about it, but I've just noticed the team behind the Morenatsu project released the game the other day, right before my birthday even. For those of you who don't know, Morenatsu is a visual novel about a boy (default name: Hiroyuki Nishimura (I think)) going back to a village to visit his old friends for the summer. As a point of reference, he's human, the friends are furries. Specifically, a cat, a tiger, two dogs, a wolf, a bear, a lion, a dragon, and a tanuki. Some adult stuff is in it of a gay nature, so that'll be something to keep note of. It's also all in Japanese, so you'll need to know how to read at least a little bit to get it and play it. Check their site for the torrent file if you're interested!
http://morenatsu.sakura.ne.jp/index.html
EDIT: ...oh yes, I forgot to mention that playing the game requires your computer to be able to handle reading Japanese characters for non-Unicode programs and stuff.

Summer Wars: the manga
General | Posted 16 years agoJust found this in my quick break of new message managing. I don't expect to see the movie anytime soon, and I'm feeling too lazy to search for it around youtube (or anywhere else), so this is nice.

Dream journal Cliffnotes version
General | Posted 17 years agoBecause I actually had this dream sometime last week, I forget most of the details. Still, it'll help me flesh it out a bit in my mind if I put it here.
*8 year old girl and 3 year old little sister home alone, parents grocery shopping. (Best parents ever. <_<)
*Random murderer breaks in.
*8 year old hides little sister and tells her to be quiet...somehow.
*8 year old killed trying to ward off murderer with screams and toy telephone.
*8 year old's ghost/what-have-you possesses toy telephone, starts going crazy
(my dream went along with the girl. I should think up a part where she goes after her killer.)
-At night, the toy phone starts ringing, sounds like a bell. Nothing happens if you try answering it.
-Ghost may appear sometimes carrying around toy phone replica. The toy sorta looks like an touch tone telephone, with the base extended like a cube was added to it. (Is this too muddled for anyone?) Plastic screen on the front that lights up according to which of the extra buttons on top are pushed, makes the video symbols (play, rewind, fast-forward etc.). Ghost's blood is on it.
-Ghost herself is pale, gaunt. Messy hair and bloody shirt. Eyes are gouged. Zombie gait, expressionless face. Makes ragged breathing sound and footfalls.
*Ghost tries to take sister with her, parents concerned since they only see 3 year old sceaming and crying.
*This happens again for a few more nights before the girl says something about her older sister coming to get her. Parents alarmed and resolve to stay up the next night.
*Ghost stalks in, parents see her and freaked, run and take 3 year old with them. Ghost makes parts of toy phone larger to attack them.
And that's all I remember. I'm gonna end this journal by shoehorning in a few unrelated personal comments on stuff.
*Tamiia.net banner: hate the art style
*Anatomy of a Werewolf: hate the art style
*Sneezefurs.org: Rule 34 on sneezing? It's not even bizarre funny. Just bizarre. :/
*discussion of another place, no personal involvement in either part: someone doesn't understand sarcasm on the internet. His page says he's 27. This depresses me.

Bizarre Dream
General | Posted 17 years agoI had this really odd dream last night/this morning, and I don't remember all of it.
It started out okay. I was on a bus headed to a movie theater sometime in the afternoon. There was some sort of event that I was attending and I was all excited to be going. It was pretty packed by the time I got there, but I had no problem getting a ticket to the thing I was going to. When I actually do get there, the room doesn't look like a theater as it does a school auditorium with basketball stands set up on all sides. In the center was a man with carrying a microphone around, sometimes saying something to the ushers who were seating everybody.
I remember that I ended up sitting next to one of my old high school classmates and talking to him for a little bit. The show starts and it's a sort of reunion thing for either my school or college, but I forget the details of it.
When it ends, the man announces that the attendants will be led out by the ushers to help move things along, one row at a time. When it comes to the row I'm in, we all get up and I follow my classmate ahead of me. Somehow the lines get mixed up, and I end up following another line out. It was already getting dark outside, and I swear the clocks read it was past midnight. At least past 10 PM for sure. I check the bus schedule I had, and there was one last bus coming in about half an hour, so I head to the restroom first. Not at all eventful, but I did wonder why it seemed jammed together with a locker room.
Getting to the exit was a little freaky. Somehow the entire floorplan had changed and the lights were dimming a bit. I started walking fast through the hallways trying to figure out where to go and which door to take. Other people were around, but were either the staff busy with something or random people talking and walking unconcerned. I went through like six doors, some of which went through twisting hallways, some which had stairways behind them, and some that were labeled office doors.
When I get through them, I ended up at what looks like the back, where there's a concession stand nearby and double doors leading out. The clocks say I took about 15 minutes to get there, but I was still kind of panicking when this girl runs up to me. She was going on the same bus and asked if I knew the bus was there yet. It wasn't, so we headed out to wait.
The bus that comes turns out to be really fancy. It was one I remembered riding on a fourth grade field trip to an aquarium, where it had big comfy seats and tv sets for showing movies. The movie we all watched is probably the most oddest thing of my dream. It was an animated film where somehow or other, a lion cub from a zoo gets turned into a human boy with no memories.
Details here get fuzzy. He goes to an elementary school, he plays and is generally happy. One day a news story in the newspaper mentions that the lions in the zoo are getting mysteriously sick. This gets talked about in his class, and it stirs up strange memories in him. Next thing I know, the boy goes downtown to some kooky toyshop with a rumored wish granting shopkeeper. The boy is told that the lions would be cured, if he trades in something precious to him and stays for a while.
Next scene, the boy has been turned into a doll of a lion cub, alive like the ones in Toy Story. He's set with some other living toys, when the camera pans around to show all the stuff the boy left behind: school projects, some drawings, some okay test scores, and a drawing right out of The Lion King. The boy remembers nothing (again), when another kid comes in. She is offered the same deal, and the last scene I remember shows a screen like an arcade game's "Continue?" screen, timer winding down with the question "Will you cancel before the deal is final?" while the toys are laughing and dancing.
