I'm coming up on 38 revolutions around this rock. Most people fear the age 40, but for me, 38 is that threshold. 38 has always held a weird power in my mind. It's always my threshold number for alarms, volume, weight, etc. To me, to exceeding 38 crosses a threshold into excess. In my mind, I'm getting *old*. (I know that just caused a lot of you to roll your eyes, just go with me on this one. :0P)

But what is so bad about that? If nothing, this last year has put a lot of things into perspective for a lot of people, myself included. I'm a much different person at 38 than I was at 37, and I'm okay with that. My change had been slow and steady, but I think the biggest difference is my being more comfortable about being open with other people about who I am.

Many folks who know me can attest that I'm very different in private than in person. I've started to blur those lines, because they are SO arbitrary. And it's not that I'm not being more genuine in one venue or another, it's more a matter of letting different parts shine through for different groups. But now I'm getting more comfortable with the idea of opening those windows wider and being more unapologetically honest, especially about my needs and vulnerabilities, but also about my interests and opinions.

It's been a rough process, soul-searching, especially through quarantine and living down south away from most of my RL friends, but I do think I am in a better place for it. This year especially, I'm going to be more vocal about things that I've both been comfortable with or struggling with for years, which might seem like they're coming out of the blue, but they're really not, no matter how odd they may seem. And I'm always happy to explain my motivations or thoughts if things seem like they're weird. (Let's face it, I'm a weird person, so sharing what's in my head and heart are bound to be a little weird. ;03)

So fuck the fear of 38, I'm ready to embrace excess, if only for the fact that if I am more excessively "me" more of the time, then I'll consider that a massive *success*.

So here's to 38 years already, and to the many more than 38 to come in even greater excess.

We've finally finished writing the next chapter of Second Serving, (our slice-of-life story featuring a chubby bunny and his buff deer baker employer,) and boy was it a long one! I was able to pick my car up last night, thanks to everyone's generous support. I'll be working back toward paying your loans back shortly, once I have a cushion built up from my new job.

If you want me to pay you back in art, I can do that as well - half price for any tier of artwork out of the money you donated. So if you donated $50, and wanted $20 worth of art, I'd charge you only $10 and pay you back $40. I just want to be able to give back to you guys somehow for your generous support, so if you want to take this option, let me know. Otherwise I expect I'll start being able to repay folks around mid-March. You've all really helped me out here.

Hey all,

So, I missed my second car payment in a row due to unemployment. I expected I'd have the "10 day" late period they list on the payment slip, but I suspect with my credit, there weren't any chances being taken.

The irony is, this was my first week of work at my new job, and I was planning on making a payment before that deadline. Now I'm kind of stuck. I can get my car back if I make an ~$600 payment back to the creditor company, but it has to be done before the car goes to auction, which could be any time this month. I was able to pay $200 of this out of the cash I was going to spend on rent, but I'm going to have trouble coming up with the full remaining amount.

My roommate has graciously offered to lend me his car the rest of the week so I can go to work, but he can't do that forever, and I don't know how long I have before my car goes to auction. So I'm asking for help trying to meet the rest of the $400. I will pay back any and all generous donations (plus interest if need be), but it probably won't be for a month or two while I get my feet back. (Want to be up front about this so that there's no confusion.)

I really don't like asking for help, since I do pride myself on being self-sufficient, but a couple friends have encouraged me to admit there's no shame in asking when it's really needed. Every little bit helps, so thanks for your consideration.

I am extremely proud to be doing the music for a visual novel game called The Pirate's Fate! Illustrated by  Volkenfox and written by T.F. Wright, this choose your own adventure style novel is in it's last week in Kickstarter! Lots of Weight Gain, Transformation, and all sorts of other changes. Plus, it's got an awesome cast of pirates!
