VISUAL NOVEL ---> GRAPHIC NOVEL
Posted 10 years agoHi everyone! Time for a little (big) update here.
As many of you may know already, I had this big project for a future Visual Novel. You have seen my character designs for all the 6 interactive characters and I've been trying to push this project on here as well as on my Patreon page. It seemed to be very nicely greeted at first from the audience, but I've been noticing in a while that the enthusiasm of the beginning slowly melted away. I tried to resist the urge to quit the project immediately and tried to pump it up, building more interest, and such (drawing porn is, indeed, one of the best ways. And the contest was so damn followed! Thank you folks!)... But the trend was clear and the struggle was real. So, I've made my decision: MISSION ABORT!
I think it would be interesting to think about the reasons behind this little failure, though. Most of the problems came from myself of course, being at my very first try with something like this - while I've been doing mostly illustrations and comics, it was my first time with a Visual Novel. Fact is, I realized how many efforst I should take in order to... learn how to do that! Even releasing a demo - which is the best way to build an audience - seemed almost out of reach for me. I'm way too slow in the process and I'm more used to reach my goals quicker.
Although, I think there's further more than my naivety and total unexperience on the topic to explain this failure. I think the heaviest struggle for me was to be almost invisible: only a few furries have actually been supportive about this project and I felt like "doing something for people who are not asking, neither caring about it". I know this may sound a bit too harsh, please don't read it like an insult: it's just a matter of fact. You probably couldn't expect a Visual Novel from me, because the things I'm followed for are mainly: illustrations & comics. But still, I was far too happy with the 6 character designs and the pirate-theme to scrap this all. So... *pause pause pause*
Time for PLAN B! The old Visual-Novel Project will be turned into... a Graphic Novel!
Enough with empty struggles! I'll be able to save the character designs done so far and the general theme, though I'll be able to get to work on it with a familiar media: a comic! And it's also more than this: turning it into a comic will allow me to get my own rythm to the narration, but also including you folks in the story. Oh yes! Paying me a little tip, you'll then appear as a cameo in the graphic novel itself! A member of the pirate crew? An enemy soldier? A bartender? A hooker? All is possible!

What would you like to see on my Patreon page?
Posted 10 years agoHi everyone! I'm writing this short PM to hear your feedback on something. Every comment is appreciated! :)
As some of you may already know, I've opened a Patreon page since a couple months. This period has been an interesting experiment, for me and for my motivation: sometimes, you know, it's hard to keep it up. Ispiration and concentration are fragile values and, in order to be a more active artist, I decided it was about time to push myself further. In every possible meaning! I'm trying to improve this activity as my real life job, my career, and also my personal growing path as an artist. It's gonna be hard, I already know that... but I'm determined. And, after all, it's been my dream since I was a child: being an artist.
That said: Patreon. I know everything about the mess about it. All the drama about it being used merely as a paywall, all the rumors about a hackers attack, all that: I've been right in the middle of the storm all the time, involved! That was strange, frustrating at some points... I've also seen my contents being re-posted in public, and I have to admit at first I really got pissed about that. Thanx to some friends, though, I reconsidered it all from another point of view. Patreon is a site allowing people to support their favorite artists and it's mandatory to give them some kind of reward, from time to time. It's true, it's not a paywall site (and I've nothing against those kind of sites, of course. Gotta pay the bills, girls!), but those exclusive contents are meant to say "thank you" to all the people supporting you in reaching your goal (a Visual Novel, in my case).
Since I've noticed the last month was kind of a poor paycheck from Patreon, and since my uploaded artworks aside from that project are meant to be gifts, rewards for you kind people supporting, I am curious to know about something: what would you like to see as contents of my patreon page, supposin you'd be one of my Patreons? Would you like to see more casual porn? Some alternative, artistic stuff? Comic strips? Or even something else?
Please let me know about it :)

First thing first, I decided to write down a little journal here following a suggestion coming from
dasherwhitetail, the commissioner who was behind the project of my recent comic, "I'm home, honey!". This project really meant a lot for me, both professionally and on a more... "empathic" way. So, once more, I'd like to thank Dasher for his will to choose me to bring on this comic to life! THANX!
Working on this comic, as said, took a lot of time and efforts. Not because of Dasher - he was amazingly kind - but because of the time itself I dedicated to each page. During the work I've been realizing things about myself too, my way to ink and color, and that was very positive for me. After all, this is my longest comic so far!
So, I decided to put my thoughs here basically because of two reasons: hearing your feedback on the comic itself (even if already many of you already commented upon the single pages), is there anything you didn't like or you loved above everything? Would you like to see, if any, another episode about those guys? So please, feel free to drop a line or two about your feelings about the whole thing!
And then, I wanted to add some personal reflections upon a topic that many of you already brought to attention... we're getting sexy here, so please be aware of that. I'm talking about the fact you don't actually see oral or anal sex in this comic. Yes I know, many of you cursed the commissioner, his "soft tastes", his fixation with frotting and masturbation and nothing beyond it. Many of you, on the other hand, defended the choice of the commissioner and his personal tastes; besides, anyone has his favorite things in life and in sexual life.
Needless to say: I'm with Dasher. I strongly support a choice going in a different direction, especially when it comes to something we're all so used to see - as furry porn comics. Even more, I strongly support it when the plot and the characters are actually interesting from many points of view! I loved that. And I really couldn't believe my eyes reading the anger in some kind of comments, just because you didn't have to see a scene involving some anal or oral action... Was it less intense, to you? Was it less interesting? IMHO: NO. I even discovered - thanx to your comments! - the definition of that practice: intercrural sex. So classy.
Of course, feel free to comment about this as well if yu wanna write down your personal point of view :3

I'm done with this round of commissions, since I only have left this comic project for mister Dasher, and it's gonna take some time. Bear with me, roar! :p
Aside my Tumblr, I wanted to get something new and try to push a bit more on the more artistic style I have in my mind. Also, I've been meeting some awesome people telling me they'd gladly spend some money to get one of my portraits and... Well, that was heart-melting. It gave me enough courage to finally open a Patreon page, too!
What is it? I guess you already heard of Patreon. It's pretty easy: you get to give artists of all kinds your money for each work of art they produce and submit there, and it both works as a motivation and a crowdfunding idea, finalized to make the artist live of his own art... Isn't that lovely?
I decided to create slots on there, but I shall warn you they will be very different from my usual artoworks on here. It's not something like a commission, is more like saying "ehi, here's some money. Would you draw for me a fox eating pancakes? With a lot of honey!" and I follow the ispiration. This will be suggestive, and funny! Wanna help me out?

small talks &... a new Tumblr :)

It's been some time since I've posted something on here. Reason is simple, actually: I was trying to keep updated my Sofurry gallery with a new round of commissions and then all the IMVU mess started around. Still, I'm a bit confused about what will the future be for this gallery of mine on here... I tried to talk to some artist friends of mine and we share the same doubts. I don't think we'll leave FA of course, but I'll probably clean up my gallery more often from now on. This gave me the chance to rethink a bit about my growing experience as an artist on here; I suddenly realized I'm sticking to the same style, while I should push myself to an upper level (against my laziness, for sure!) and I'm trying to focus on this for a bit.
That's why I'm grabbing some time, to focus on my style and building a small Tumblr blog with all my out-of-commissions artworks. It's growing slowly and it has a very personal mark, so I thought I could be ready to share it with you guys:

We're delighted to announce you that registration for Zampacon 15 - Fur Ro Dah! is soon to be opened.
The theme for this year, if you haven't already guessed, will be Fantasy/Medieval!
Zampacon is our (still) small but funny italian furry convention, starring artists, fursuiters, panels, games and all the fun in between! At our 4th edition, we decided to be more inclusive toward other european furries, so you should consider coming along with us! More surpises coming with the theme, too...

Zampacon is our (still) small but funny italian furry convention, starring artists, fursuiters, panels, games and all the fun in between! At our 4th edition, we decided to be more inclusive toward other european furries, so you should consider coming along with us! More surpises coming with the theme, too...

Molti di voi già ne saranno al corrente: Zampacon è la nostra furry convention, giunta ormai alla sua quarta edizione. Come ogni anno, ci saranno tanti artisti, fursuiters, conferenze e giochi di ogni tipo. In più, grazie al tema che abbiamo scelto, introdurremo qualche piccola chicca a sorpresa ;) Stiamo anche estendendo l'invito ai furry esteri perchè, come risulta dal nostro sondaggio, c'è il desiderio di aprirsi al bilinguismo... Quale migliore occasione?
Le iscrizioni saranno aperte a partire da lunedì 16 marzo fino a martedì 31 marzo alle ore 23:59. Vi aspettiamo numerosi!

Happy new year! 2015 started in a very rough way here. Bad things, new things... And I think a good clean-up is the best way to gather the energy I need! So I decided to review my old 2011 and 2012 artworks and delete some from my gallery. I kept some for the purpose to show my artistic path trough the years passing, but mostly I removed them because they didn't meet my personal tastes anymore and didn't mean too much in my style development.
If you are a commissioner and you didn't save your old commission, just write me a PM and I will send it to your email, for free of course!
Otherwise, if you're interested in grabbing all my artworks, you'll be able to get them!
I've created and put online a small archive (about 22 MB), downloadable trough a Dropbox link, and you will find inside:
- 56 old artworks!
- 3 new doodles!
- 1 special gift!

Summer vacation!

After my last submission, I'm officially on vacation for this summer! YAY! Gonna relax for a little bit and take a break from all the commissions routine. I'll be also attending Zampacon '14 here, so I'll be back just in september with new slots for commissions.

Zampacon 2014!

This short journal will be written in Italian, because its main purpose is to inform Italian furs about our annual edition of Zampacon, the Italian Furry Convention! I know some of you would gladly join us, but still, all the panels and activities will be mainly in Italian language. Hopefully, we will have luck and grow more and more, gathering the furries all around and bringing the furry fandom to success here in Italy, as well :3
Yo gente! Eccoci arrivati alla terza edizione di Zampacon!
Anche quest'anno abbiamo pensato di pubblicizzarci un po' su varie piattaforme, così da raggiungere più persone possibile, soprattutto perchè abbiamo aperto proprio oggi le iscrizioni (che chiuderanno il 19 febbraio)! Per chi rimanesse un po' spiazzato alla notizia di una furry convention in Italia, posso dire che Zampacon nasce dal desiderio di conoscere di persona e unire i vari furries sparsi per tutta Italia. Le scorse due edizioni hanno registrato un incremento progressivo del numero degli ospiti, di pari passo con l'interessamento verso il furry!
Zampacon'14 si terrà a Bellaria - Igea Marina dal 3 al 7 settembre. Questa volta non ci sarà un tetto massimo di partecipanti, quindi siete tutti i benvenuti (salvo i minorenni, per questioni ovvie legate alle responsabilità). This is a short, bitter journal. Some kind users noticed there's this guy on Facebook who is pretending to be me. Notoriety, you could say, is a good way to approach new friends... Fact is, I don't think I'm a popufur of sort: I should probably rethink this, considering this guy bragging around about how many friend requests he had. Which truly, is so pathetic anyways.
So I'm telling you, I'm not Rov Avedon; this guy talks big and pretends to be me, also using my pictures (and mostly, commissions) editing them as he pleases... using a filter of Instagram, of course, since it seems he can't even draw.
If you want to help me out, then please go to his Facebook page and report to Facebook for pornography, false account, etc etc. Thanx!

As I already did in the past years, I decided to "purge" my FA gallery from older artworks: I kept some for the purpose to show my artistic path trough the years passing, but mostly I removed them because they didn't meet my personal tastes anymore and didn't mean too much in my style development. If you're a commissioner and you can't see your old commission in my gallery anymore, don't be afraid to ask me your commission and I'll email it to you without problems!
Otherwise, if you're interested in grabbing all my artworks, you'll be able to get them! I've created and put online a .rar archive, for you to download!
You can buy it from me for only 5€. For this cheap price you'll get my 2011 Art Archive, which is about 20MB and includes:

Zampacon 2013! Italian Furry Convention
Posted 12 years agoHi everyfur! As someone will already know, I'm in the Staff of Zampacon along with my mate and two friends; it's the first Italian furry Convention and we kicked ass' last time! For this year we changed plans and placed the event in summer. Err- so, this journal will be in Italian, since the Convention is still focusing on gathering all the Italian-furs around! Thanx anyway for your support! :3
Ragazz*! Siamo giunti alla seconda edizione di Zampacon! Beh, a dire il vero ci stavamo lavorando già da un po'... Ma abbiamo pensato di pubblicizzarci un po' su varie piattaforme, così da raggiungere più persone possibile, soprattutto perchè abbiamo aperto proprio oggi le iscrizioni (che chiuderanno il 15 maggio)!
Ma andiamo per ordine... Forse non è giunta a tutti la notizia; ebbene sì: esiste una furry-convention persino in Italia! Sorprendente, vero? Così come abbiamo già spiegato in altre occasioni, Zampacon nasce dal nostro desiderio di conoscere e unire i vari furries sparsi per tutta Italia, così da "metterci al pari" con i gruppi di altre nazioni europee. Noi italiani siamo tristemente famosi per essere sempre un po' gli ultimi arrivati, in molti campi: ma le cose le stiamo già cambiando... Si spera in meglio! :) Vi lascio qui di seguito alcune informazioni spicciole:
►Riassumendo... Dove e Quando?
L'esito dei sondaggi proposti tramite il nostro forum ci ha portato alla scelta di prolungare la durata complessiva di Zampacon'13 a 4 notti, dal 4 all'8 settembre (check-out domenica 8). La location si troverà tra Rimini e Riccione; si tratterà di una delle 6 opzioni illustrate nel thread "Costi e Strutture" sul nostro forum, che vi invitiamo a consultare per maggiori dettagli. La scelta definitiva verrà presa in base al numero effettivo di caparre che riceveremo.
►Chiuderete le iscrizioni? C'è un tetto massimo di partecipanti?
Purtroppo siamo costretti a farlo. L'anno scorso avevamo fissato un tetto massimo a 30 partecipanti (Staff escluso), quest'anno ci sentiamo abbastanza preparati da stabilire un tetto massimo a 50-60 persone; numero che dipende dalle strutture da noi scelte, che hanno un certo numero di camere e, soprattutto, una capienza massima per le sale comuni!
Vi sollecitiamo quindi ad inviarci le vostre caparre il più rapidamente possibile, così da farci avere un'idea precisa e tempestiva del numero di partecipanti e, quindi, velocizzare la prenotazione degli hotel! E poi in fondo, vige la regola del "chi prima arriva, meglio alloggia"...
Le Caparre vanno pagate entro e non oltre il 15 maggio 2013!
►Ok! Come faccio ad iscrivermi?

Zampacon'12 &... Zampacon'13!

I wanted to take the chance to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who joined us; the convention was truly a big success and we will soon come back with the second edition! Forgive me, but... Idem come sopra: non avendo ancora deciso la data precisa (siamo fan della democrazia), rimane difficile anche trovare un luogo da subito: infatti, per fare l'esempio, Bologna è impraticabile durante l'estate, per via del gran caldo afoso... Ci si orienterebbe più verso il mare/montagna/campagna. Anche qui, sondaggino. Se non voterete, vi cadrà il pene!
Non sarà che poi mi costi un rene e mezzo venire da voi?
Tranquilli: abbiamo già qualche ideuzza per cercare di tenere il prezzo bassino, in modo da permettere a tutti di partecipare. Tuttavia, dopo aver sperimentato cosa significa avere i bagni in comune e non avere tutti i pasti offerti dalla struttura, è probabile che la quota per la prossima edizione sia un poco più alta... Ma senza esagerare!

ART ARCHIVE! Artworks from 2008 to 2010

Once again, I decided to "purge" my FA gallery from older artworks: I kept some for the purpose to show my artistic path trough the years passing, but mostly I removed them because they didn't meet my personal tastes anymore and didn't mean too much in my style development.
So, if you're a commissioner and you can't see your old commission in my gallery anymore, don't be afraid to ask me your commission and I'll email it to you without problems :)
Otherwise, if you're interested in grabbing all my artworks, you'll be able to get them! How? I'll put online a .rar archive, for you to download!
How can I get the archive?
You can buy it from me for only 5€. For this cheap price you'll get my super-juicy (you bet, 76MB of furry pictures! LOL) Art Archive, which includes:
- 104 pictures from 2008
- 139 pictures from 2009
- 116 pictures from 2010
- 1 original Banner, created from my previous artwork "Orpheus", used also for Sofurry.com
- 2 exclusive digital copies of the 2 versions of "Zeus & Ganimede"
I accpet payments on my Paypal: horserov[at]gmail.com
To get a copy, just send the 5€uros and specify in the payment message where you'd like me to communicate the link for the download of the Archive. If I'll not receive any notifications in this way, I'll send the link to the address appearing in the payment itself!
Please note:
I will wait for at least 10 people to buy the art archive before giving the link. The reason if, of course, to try avoiding spamming of the link around the fandom ( I know, it happens LOL)!
Anyways, I'll start sending the links from the 20th of November either if I'll reach that goal or not ;)

Posted 13 years agoHi everybody! Unfortunately, All my commission slots are filled at the moment... So I guess it's about time to get you to know some other italian artists you could look at, just in case you're in a hurry for a good commission and you don't know where to ask! ;)
They have very different styles and experiences, I'm sure you can find someone who could inspire you! You may already know some of them, anyways I strongly invite you to take a look at their artworks and enjoy some italian creativity :3

ZampaCon, 1° FURRY CONVENTION ITALIANA!

Ciao a tutti! :3
Dopo l'intensa e bella esperienza dell'Eurofurence18, con alcuni amici ci siamo soffermati a riflettere sulla possibilità di organizzare una furry convention tutta italiana; il furry fandom in Italia è sempre stato molto frammentato, piccoli gruppi isolati che difficilmente riuscivano ad aspirare a qualcosa di più di raduni occasionali...
Abbiamo deciso di buttarci e fare un tentativo, la prima furry convention italiana di respiro nazionale!!
Ci stiamo lavorando di gran lena e con tanto impegno speriamo riesca un evento divertente, che possa essere proposto anche nei prossimi anni!
La convention si terrà a Bologna, durante il periodo di capodanno (nello specifico, 29-30-31 dicembre e 1 gennaio 2013), e prevede una serie di attività a tematica furry, incontri con gli artisti italiani del fandom e tanti nuovi amici da comoscere!

Una volta iscritti e presentati nell'apposita sezione, potrete accedere a tutte le informazioni riguardo alla Location e al programma delle attività! :)
Abbiamo ancora dei posti disponibili, ma considerate che per questo primo evento cerchiamo di andare sul sicuro, per cui abbiamo fissato un tetto massimo di partecipazioni, così da rendere la cosa più gestibile per noi organizzatori. Quindi... Iscrivetevi al più presto, leggete e confermate il prima che potete! :)
