Migrating Accounts!
General | Posted 10 years agoI've settled on migrating my account to better reflect myself and also because FA doesn't facilitate name changes.

What Influenced You To Become a Furry?
General | Posted 10 years agoI've always been interested in how people became furries. What made you a furry? Or what did you find that made you furry is in the first place?
For me, during my childhood, I came home from school, and watched lots of cartoons. Specifically, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, and even TMNT. I was fascinated at anthropomorphic animals and how they can symbolically represent a personality or being. I think the most influential had to be the movie, Over The Hedge.
Literally I fell in love with the character of RJ the raccoon. When I had access to the Internet, I basically got pictures of RJ, using him as my avatars, and so on. Even my original alias was influenced by his initials; I used to be called RJ for short. I didn't officially have a fursona until early 2009. I thought a fox character might be a nice animal to represent myself.
The rest is history.

Found Some Old Drawings..
General | Posted 11 years agoI was clearing out my cluttered drawers and found my old drawings from 2010 to 2012.
Holy crap, those were bad. But hell, it showed that I did improve! Never discard your old drawings so you can look back!

What a way for Singapore to get noticed. This anti-gambling ad went viral after Brazil's massive loss vs Germany. Lawl.

Undergrad Studies
General | Posted 11 years agoMy university days will be coming up shortly. I'm done with my active years in army, and it's time to study again. Onwards to freshman year!
I don't know if I'll have the time to draw in the near future. I'll try to keep drawing 'cuz I love doing it as a hobby.

The Most Expensive City In The World Now Is...
General | Posted 11 years agoSingapore.
Yes, EIU, Economist Intelligence Unit, has recently ranked Singapore as the most expensive city in the world, topping Paris and Tokyo in the charts.
You'll be surprised by how much a car costs here. The car itself is expensive, then the government makes you pay a lot more in taxes and a certificate of entitlement to use said car.

First Time as a Bank Guard
General | Posted 12 years agoAfter trying out my post as a bank guard, I can safely say it may look easy but it's actually a tedious job to stand there for 4 hours, then have a mere 1-hour break, before doing it for yet another 4 more hours until closing time.
Sure, my legs were killing me as I stood there near the entrance, looking all astute and alert, but it was more like the main building's lobby music that were killing my ears. Guess what, whoever was in-charge was looping the same jazz track from the time the bank opened till it closed...
Hey, the job pays, that's why I'm doing it before beginning tertiary studies.

Happy Lunar New Year!
General | Posted 12 years agoYes, the Chinese culture have their own calendar and they celebrate their New Year with lots of house-visiting and food. To top it off, in Singapore at least, it's made a public holiday, usually 2 days of no work! Welcome the Horse year.

Full-Time Army Enlistment Ends
General | Posted 12 years agoI collected my Operationally-Ready-Date (ORD) service plaque on Nov 21th 2013. Yay, 2 more weeks till I'm officially ORD, meaning I'll be collecting my civilian identity card and ending my full-time army service. Finally...
Infantry Combat Course (Update for Week 5)
General | Posted 12 years agoIt's done! The combat course is technically finished since the last week is mostly getting ready to leave full-time enlistment, ending with a ceremony some sort.
I'm so happy I survived 3-days-2-nights in a fieldcamp. I was doubting myself if I could continue but I just managed to overcome each training exercise over and over till it's all completed. I really know it's nothing much to brag about since officer-cadets do a 9-days-8-nights fieldcamp with 2-days worth of combat rations. Fun fact: I was the only guy out of a section (6-7 guys) to actually participate in the fieldcamp. F-ck me right? Lol.

Infantry Combat Course (Update for Week 4)
General | Posted 12 years agoNothing too special except for a section-live-firing course that the company had to run down several times. Basically shoot to cover your friends that charge towards the enemy, and then you do the same while your teammates execute their covering fire. We do this several times till we're close enough to the objective. Thrilling but tiring.
I hate it when my LMG double-feeds in the chamber, the outgoing bullet cartridge that's supposed to be expelled out gets stuck together with the new bullet from the magazine well, and the whole gun jams up...
2 more weeks to go before my infantry course is done.

Infantry Combat Course (Update for Week 3)
General | Posted 12 years agoI had two live-firings the past week. I'm so happy I got the marksmanship standard for the first one with the standard-issue assault rifle, which means I can wear the marksmanship badge on the arm. Well, not like it matters a lot since my 2 years of full-time enlistment is almost done, but hey, a bonus of 200 bucks will be added to my pay-slip for the month though. :D
My second shoot was the U-100 which I've been learning how to operate and fire one. Feels good to fire a light-machine gun with live rounds. Thankfully, I shot all of the rounds without a single stoppage (for both live-fire sessions), which I really am grateful for.

Infantry Combat Course (Update for Week 2)
General | Posted 12 years ago2 days of outfield training...dirt, mud, gravel, sand, dead leaves, ants, spiders, mosquitos, and the list goes on. Sleeping on the ground of a jungle is no fun either. :c Oh man, my body aches up till now from carrying 15kg worth of load on my back.
I had to haul my light-machine gun here and there, tiring but manageable. Good thing I'm not the one carrying the anti-tank weapon. At least, the firing of my weapon was fun. Tak-tak-tak, tak-tak-tak, tak-tak.
Mock missions for assault and flanking were fun, but they were planned and all my section had to do was execute, no deviations unless instructed.
I swear once I reached back to camp, it felt like heaven. I guess that's what happens when one's deprived of his luxuries, one will just learn to love what he once commonly had, especially a good cold shower with soap and shampoo!

Infantry Combat Course (Update for Week 1)
General | Posted 12 years agoNothing too stressful. I found out I'm one of the light-machine gunners in the section that lay down support and cover fire in the field. First-time handling a light-machine gun in technical terms, but it had to be done so I can be proficient at it. I got the hang of it, at the cost of slight cuts and sore paws from disassembling and reassembling it more than 10 times.

Infantry Combat Course (again)
General | Posted 12 years agoI'm going to be staying in-camp for an infantry combat course for 4-5 weeks, meaning I'll not be surfing FA so much like I used to on past weekdays. I still don't know if I'm assigned to carry a LMG, a HMG, an AT weapon, or a sharpshooter variant of the standard assault rifle...hopefully I DON'T get the AT weapon since it weights a lot. x_x
2 more months till I'm no longer a full-time serviceman. Yaaay.

I-hate-wasps
General | Posted 12 years agoI got stung TWICE by the same black wasp, one on my index finger and near my wrist on my lower arm, both being on the right hand...
That's great, I didn't even disturb that bloody thing, it just went "OHHH, LOOK A HYUMAN, LET'S DISTURB HIM! BzZZbzzZzz"
Yea, f-ck, really? Now I can't even draw when I wanted to draw today while over my leave break from Army. Not to mention I can't even play games since pressing mouse-1 is already a b!tch.
-_- I swear that small black wasp was invincible, I slammed it into my thigh a few times while it was hanging onto me, "HURR UBERCHARGE" *flies away* Wasp got lucky 'cuz I was a sitting duck as an armed sentry guard who couldn't move away from my designated location...

General | Posted 12 years agoGordon Ramsay in Singapore
General | Posted 12 years agoYup, Gordon Ramsay, the professional chef with a really harsh mouth when it comes to cooking, is here in Singapore to face-off against three of the top-voted hawkers. I'm eager to see how the competition ends! Also tempted to go watch the show-down live, happening at a local food center.
The Haze Did It Yet Again!
General | Posted 12 years agoYup, yet again the pollutant standards index (PSI) level in Singapore reached a soaring 401 today @ 12pm, June 21 (local time). A reading above 300 is potentially life threatening to the ill and elderly and considered hazardous to all. And I thought it wouldn't go further than a 371, the highest yesterday!
Get this, "Indonesia on Thursday accused Singapore of acting "like a child" over acrid smog from forest fires in Sumatra that has triggered the city-state's worst environmental crisis in more than a decade." I'm amazed one of their representatives said that in a statement to the Singaporean government.

The Air Quality's Going to S*** For Real Now
General | Posted 12 years agoNever before in Singapore, the pollutant standards index (PSI) reached an all-time record-high of 371 at 1pm on June 20 (local time), again, due to the haze from Indonesia's forest-fires. The air quality is officially considered HAZARDOUS when it's above 300. The air is difficult to breathe with a foul smoke odor, plus it irritates the eyes/throat/nose if one's sensitive. Fortunately I am issued with a N95 respirator, so it helps in the outdoors (for a period of time), as my duty demands it.
Farmers continue to slash-and-burn huge plots of peat land and trees, creating massive haze that result from the winds blowing over the entire island. In Indonesia, the PSI is 400 and above if I'm right.
