Price list update and a question

I'm going through rough times. Due to the fucking war our "leader" waged and the sanctions that western countries put on us, the prices even of the basic food rose up around +40%. I just can't scrape enough money for living expenses. So, even neck-deep in commissions and overworking myself I can't get money for more than barely survive and not get into debts often. On the plus side I lost some weight, haha.
My hopes were on subscribers from boosty, but as I don't do subscribers-only exclusive content, I have only 2 paying subscribers and 12 free ones. I think I'm beginning to understand people who make paywalls. They just want to live off their drawing. And as I don't even get tips (3 cases for all these years, heh...), I am forced to increase prices for everything except sketches 5-10 USD up. That still won't be really enough, but my drawing skill isn't good enough to ask for more.
For the people who already wait in the queue — considering we spoke of the prices before this announcement, prices of the arts and animations we talked about will not change. It won't be fair to impose new prices on you without your consent.
I am also thinking about doing YCH auctions or drawing OCs for adoption auctions more often, but I'm not sure if someone wants them — what's your opinion on auctions?

I have bad news for you, guys.
As you may know, the country I live in, has attacked another, because our “leader” is a bloody maniac.
After the first sanctions he began to make artificial rate RUB to USD. And so, even with my recent price raising I earn twice less than when I began to draw for money. And it’s my sole income…
Now he declared a mobilisation. That means I have only two ways — to be forcefully conscripted into the army, or to go into prison because I don’t want to hurt anyone or help to those who want to hurt them. So, I am now hiding from the conscription officers and police. If I'll get myself caught, I'll choose the prison.
As I never hid anything behind patreon paywalls and the likes, I have no money to run from the country to anywhere else. And the borders are almost closed.

I am from Russia. I am mortified by what the mad midget Putin did and does, even now.
I hate it. And I hate that I can do nothing about it — even peaceful anti-war demonstrations or even a solo picket will lead to arrest and possible torture. Not "can lead", but "will lead". Paranoid little shit did everything to ensure that.
And I can't leave the country, especially now, when the covid restrictions are now mixed with war. Even if I had the money...
All I can do is speak. The smallest thing — speak that I hate it. This is like a fever dream... So surreal and horrifying.
I may be not guilty in what happened. But still feel partially responsible, as we, as our people did nothing when the shackles weren't that tight but began to weigh on us.
I am very sorry for all the grief this war brings. I can do nothing, but speak. And so, I cannot let myself be silent.

[Problem solved]
Posted 4 years agoLong story short: a FurAffinity user ordered an animation for a $120.
As I rarely charge forward, we agreed upon this: I make a line animation for approval, after that they pay me the first half and I proceed to colour it. After all is done, I receive the rest of the money.
The line animation was done and the commissioner approved it. They said that they have some trouble with paying right now, so I agreed to wait 2 or 3 weeks, as I was asked for.
I waited 2 months.
Today I wrote them and asked how are they.
I received an answer "Sorry, forgot, consider it cancelled" and was blacklisted in Discord and on FurAffinity.
The fun part is that this user uploads an expensive-looking arts in "commissions" folder, heh. One was uploaded today...
So, I believe I simply was scammed. The work is done, but no payment and blacklisting me are making it pretty clear.
What can I do now, friends? I did not use their name here as I don't want to inspire someone to harass them or be banned by moderators.
I have all the logs and stuff, of course.
It's just... They literally stole the food from my table even as they are buying expensive stuff. I feel betrayed...

I have some news today.
My patreon page always was aimed on supporting me only, with no paywalled content. So, I guess it were somewhat expected that I still had only 4 patrons and all of this stuff paid me almost no money while needing my time and attention, even as small as it was.
Well, it is time to change something, ain't it?
I still don't want to close the access to my stuff by a paywall, so I'm closing my patreon page. I already suspended patron billing in previous month, so it is a logical thing to do.
A great thanks to the ones who supported me.
A bit sad that it came out that way.
I have some news today.

So, I'm back to work too. I'll finish the YCH prize for
TeraKat in a week and will begin a new round of YCH raffle in the next Sunday.
I'm a little behind in the commissions schedule too, but I hope I'll make it in time as well...

Sorry, I once again found myself in unexpected trouble. That was a close one.
A clot clogged the vein in my leg. If it became unstuck and slipped higher, into the heart and brain, there were no Ruan anymore, heh.
But I noticed something wrong and the doctors made it in time, saving me. Which makes me happy.
I'm in the hospital, now in no danger, but they want me to stay under monitoring for a while to make sure I'm recovering right 'n' proppa.
I have only my phone and a sketchbook with pencil, having no access even to the discord. So, everything is on hiatus again. At least until I'm discharged.
Well... That's kinda it.

I am mostly settled in this place and all that is left is to make some repairs and renovations to this house.
So, I am almost back in the saddle.
I will not take new commissions for a while though, as I shall contact the poor guys who waited for their turn in the queue all this time... I'm so sorry. But I'll make it right.
And my Sunday YCHs will start again just in a week!
As in the last times, I will take your suggestions for 24 hours in the dedicated post, making them once in two weeks.
Time for me to finally whip out my tablet for long and draw some stuff!

Forced to move to another country - everything on hiatus

The migration law in the country I live now was changed and I am forced to move to another country a month earlier than I expected. Tomorrow.
In the new place I will need some time to settle on and try to somehow continue work when there's my elder relatives walking around in the same small place... I hate this situation.
That will change in some time later and I will be able to freely draw again, but for a time being I must freeze everything — the queue, the raffles, the uploads...
I cannot even finish the prize for the latest raffle winner! It's driving me nuts.
So, everything is temporarily on hiatus. I am very sorry.
I will write a new entry when something will change to inform you about it.

So, what I decided to do is:
Starting from the next Sunday I will begin to make simple lineart-styled animations for the free YCH raffles!

A question about future raffles (want your opinions)
Posted 5 years agoI thought about some things and found out that these raffles every week begin to feel a bit boring after these years.
You see, when I started them, it was, apart from other fun stuff, the way for me to learn and try and master new techiques and methods. To improve my skills.
Some time ago I stuck on the one level in flat-coloured arts. I can't really improve them for now. And so, the weekly YCH raffles began to become tedious. A routine.
But I think I found the solution.
If I want to improve my skills and I'm stuck in this type of the art, I can try another! :D
I don't want to make the full-coloured arts into raffles. It takes from me too much time and efforts to make them and, frankly, I already draw a lot of them for commissioners.
What do you think about animations, friends?
Something simple and nice like these two line-styled, but in the old Free YCH raffle format?

I must go to the unexpected travel to another city to resolve some administrative shenanigans which they're think I must do. And it's not like I really have a choice. So I'll ride away at Sunday and return a couple days later.
But that doesn't mean I cancel the raffle! :D
It'll just be held a day earlier, at the first day of February, at the same time.

Some of my friends told they want to support me and convinced me that someone else in the internet may want to support me too.
It’s too tempting to have an opportunity to make more of my own ideas into drawings and to have opportunity to learn more. And, as my studies in animations advancing, I realize it’s taking a lot of time… The time I use to make commissions.
I really don’t like the paywall system, so everything (except if the commissioner wants otherwise) will be in free access here or on my inkbunny page. There will be no exclusives and no patreon rewards!
I made the page just for people who like my arts and animations. And who want to see what things I can do if I’ll have some spare time — between making commissions for food, heh.
