Why now?

I have to pay rent. I worked on that on my own, but people (in real life) were only taking advantage( 30+ hours hard labor - $170). I dropped them like rocks. I sent resumes to a lot of places and even though I have an attractive resume, nothing really came through. So I decided to have just a job while I prep to make my website and make steps towards the next (and hopefully happier) chapter of life.

Okay. I have to go on to sell commissions again because something came up and forced my hand again. 

You know the drill, if your char isn't really complicated and you're not having props, then it'll be $25 from the usual $40 base. SFW Only. 

I'm fairly loose with the subject of complexity, your char can be a little complex and the commission will still be $25 or $30, but if your char is a seven-coloured Unicorn-Pegasus with an Adonis body, expect to pay more. If you have your character covered in armor, expect to pay more.

First, thanks for your support. I wasn't posting much art because I was working. That involves a lot of Photoshop, so I get tired of Photoshop which unfortunately is a good chunk of my digital drawing skills are at.

I really don't touch my Mac right now because I don't know what I will do in PS, my PC has GraphicsGale which I got used to work on for sprite work. Really I only use the Mac for resume revamping.

My coding progress is fine, I am actually getting used to doing small trivial programs in C# and a little C++ as well. Maybe finally starting to make use of those sprites I made and making some sort of demo or getting some sort of job that is a hybrid of the stuff that I have put into a ball isn't far off after all.

Well I got a job, it's a 3 month contract that pays me $14 / hour where I take calls and make graphical fixes. Ehh, better than Gamestop.

But I am here making a go at it with C++ and with what I learned with C#, I am actually understanding the basics of one of the hardest programming languages to learn. Pretty hype about that.

Art wise, I have been doodling, but the job and commute takes up most of the week. As I get acclimated to the job expect some stuff from me. I was in the running to become an artist at a huge retail chain, but things happen, and I didn't get picked. So is the way of the world. :/

Yes I am still open for commissions, and I plan of streaming again soon. The thing is that this isn't working and I am making an honest effort in learning C# and relearning .NET, so I can show that I can easily do the front and back end of web design. I got the hard part down though as I can make good modern UI because that's just easy.

LOL last week!

It was an interesting week and well in keeping it short:

I did what I had to this week in order to have something to eat, pay the electric bill and get stuff done in spite of multiple setbacks and disappointments from myself.

Speaking of setbacks, whenever the downloaded copy of OS X El Capitan, was incomplete. ... In short I had to clean the hard drive in order to have it run. There was no backup. So basically if I want to get say,,, my big sprite, I have to get it through here! XD Oh well, I do view this as a clean slate to move on. Plus I now have a new 7 year old Mac! I did get back CS4 but it's the base version. No updates, I think because it's so old.

I now plan to teach art, or to start a career in programming. I couldn't make it as a freelancer mostly because of my own failure to get exposure. It cost me dearly to be that naïve about myself. I still need money so with that I am open for commissions and stuff, but I have a plan A and a plan B, and hope to execute them to create a better life, soon.

Here's what is going right now.

I'm still like 200 in the red, and everything is past due. It stems from an art print commish gone unpaid and not enough business activity these last two weeks. So I figured that this is not the time for me to make doing this type of art stuff for a living because of the lack of interest and the lack of revenue I am gaining. Hell, I would actually be starving if my mother didn't give me $15 to go to the grocery store with. So I am out there advertising my other skills to get a job.

I have a lead, and it looks promising at the moment, with a marketing agency, but with the experience I gained with the last few companies I interviewed with, I know that a good feeling from an interview or an art test means nothing without the following call. I also have some people asking me about my programming skills which I am forging on my own time. I am not a confident coder right now, so I am kind of avoiding the more advanced positions and looking for more entry level jobs in IT.

The point is that I really prefer to work my way out of this. I even took a job at craigslist for a day, but once I found out what it was about I really didn't want anything to do with that so I just stopped with that shady mess. Applications at places like Target and Dollar Tree haven't netted interviews, and I have a HS Diploma and a Bachelor's. Frustrating as it can get this trying to get a job stuff is, really.

This is no joke, things are pretty dire and I am trying to do stuff but it's not exactly working. I really need the money. I sell commissions at $50 for a full body, shaded character. $35 for a flat color. $25 for line art.
