Holy FurCon Batman!
Posted 11 years agoWow, my first year selling stuff at a convention and I did remarkably, wonderfully well! I had a real blast talking to people and painting and drawing for people, and I think I'll definitely do it next year. Admittedly, there were some issues, like hauling my giant watercolor board around, my receipt book exploding, and burning myself out thoroughly by being so damn excited over the whole thing, but overall I had a great con. I was a little sad I didn't get to meet everyone I wanted to, but I got to meet so many awesome new people that it all evened out I think.
I want to thank everyone who commissioned me, you're all wonderful people, and for those of you who I wasn't able to give their things to at con, I'm really sorry, but I'll be sending them out in the next couple of weeks. And on that note, I would also like to give a list of the commissions that are still outstanding. If I miss any, and you commissioned me, please, please let me know.
Kain: Watercolor Badge of their dragony character.
Zantal: Crocodile Watercolor Painting.
Sisaro: Watercolor Badge (I'll probably just hand you it in person at the meet up)
Dragonorca: Vertical Watercolor Painting (with extra drippiness)
Rani: Full-page sketch of your fluffy puppy is done, I just didn't have a way to contact you at-con! D:
Cassie: Your ink drawing is incoming, I wanted to do it on proper paper. :3
Now unless I forgot some people, that's who's still left, and anyone who GOT a commission from me, I'd very much enjoy it if you could scan it, take a picture of it, transmit a psychic impression of it to the Internet. Especially Cassie, who wins the award for 'Strangest Commission' this con for the "Fucked-up cockatiel" painting.
Con was so crazy, I entirely overbooked, so I want to apologize to those people who commissioned me who I couldn't give them their things at-con. And if said people could also give me an address, either here or over Skype (where I'm also RustyTheBrave), I would very much appreciate it, as it saves me the cost of a seance to divine your mailing addresses to deliver things. :P
But in all seriousness, please send me your mailing addresses, I'll be sending things out as I finish them over the next couple of weeks. :3
Oh, and if anyone knows a fluffy, light-blue puppy named Rani, can they give me her contact info? I think she has mine but she never came by the table when I was collecting info, and I can't seem to find her on FA. I did the sketch for her but I never got a chance to give it to her when it was all done.

Posted 16 years agoSO! After returning from an extremely awesome Further Confusion, I have decided to start scanning and posting things again... For a while anyway. I have, like, oooooodles of art to scan in, though the first pieces will be the trades I did with people at FC, 'cos some of them requested that I do so. But yes! More art time!

doctor because the idea of me as a supervillain is too amusing.
1. Choose your closer ultimate objective:
A. World Domination
B. World Annihilation
C. "One Million Dollars"
D. 72 Vixens, herms of course
D
(World domination? Feh! World annihilation? No fun! One million dollars goes quicker than you think, but 72 vixens provide a workforce, an industrial base, a vacation and loyal agents)
2. Describe your secret lair
A floating castle made of the strongest materials known to man, held aloft by powerful magic, sporting the very finest in fine dining, breath-taking views and secret biological labs.
3. What is your supervillian name?
Lord Rusty of the Shining Palace.
4. What is your superpower?
Chaos magic.
5. What is your costume and what snappy little uniform do you make your thugs wear?
Me: A black fitted shirt with a simple breast-pocket, form-fitting black pants, and a long, dark cloak that shimmers with all colors.
Thugs: Loose-fitting dark red shirts, black flak jackets, black cargo pants with many pockets and black combat boots.
6. What elaborate death awaits your superhero, that you have just now captured by the way..?
He will be lowered slowly into the power core, where the barely-contained chaotic energies within will warp his body through the very fabric of time and space, sending his soul to a place where time has no meaning, there is only pure, maddening chaos.
7. The superhero escaped, blame the MPAA I don't know, you shake angry fist at them and say.....
YOU FORGOT YOUR MUFFINS!
(Hey, it might get him to turn around long enough for the siege weapons on the walls to get him)
8. YOU are captured by the superhero now, what heavily fortified facility do you escape from in time for the next issue:
A. Prison
B. Asylum
C. Hell
D. Government Lab
E. Childrens' Birthday Party.
D
(Chaos magic CAN technically do anything, a valuable asset)
9. Finally give your best evil laugh :)
Mwahaha mwahahahaha, MWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA! *hack* *cough*

To Friends That Are No Longer With Us
Posted 17 years agoIn case anyone was wondering why I vanished off my IMs yesterday (though I doubt anyone did, it wasn't for very long), the thing is... Well yesterday I found out that an old friend of mine (one of my first online RP buddies actually) had passed away. Of lung cancer I didn't even know he had.
It made me realize how many people on my contact lists I know and talk to, but don't really know anything about. It's not that I don't care, I just feel that if they want to tell me, they will. It made it so I couldn't go on my IMs or chatrooms for the whole rest of the day. I just... Couldn't. Because every time I look at the contacts on my list, I notice the over a hundred names that have either blocked me or have vanished.
It was also rather alarming how quickly my bottle of Bailey's came to mind. I understand now what my mother meant when she said I have an addictive personality. It goes with the ADHD apparently. Fortunately my response to depression is lethargy, so I didn't know what was worse: Being depressed and grieving and wanting to drink myself into oblivion, or not caring enough to actually do it.
So, if anyone was wondering where I was... Now you know. I'll be on today for a while probably.

It's my birthday! Woo!
Posted 17 years agoYep, it is!
I am officially 21 as of about two hours ago. :3
And in the morning I'm... Gonna help my friend move, and THEN go celebrate...
... Presumably.
X3
But anyways, I shall be having a party at my home in La Honda on Sunday, and it will be much good. :3
Honestly I don't expect any presents, my parents paid for FC, and I'm very grateful for that. My grandparents spent waaaaaay too much on me for Christmas, so I'm just looking forward to being with friends and family. 'Cos after all, that's what made these 21 years worth celebrating.
So to all my friends out there, thank you, and thank you to the whole furry community for helping to give me the confidence to find myself and grow into who I am today.

Posted 17 years agoHoly hells that was fun!
So lemme list the awesomeness:
1: I met a LOT of new people and got to sketch in a lot of sketchbooks.
2: I got a lot of new sketches in my con sketchbook, including ones by Coonkun, Pell, Eric Schwartz (Whee!), RienKarrot, Kazen, Sidney Eileen, and more (that I can't read the signature of) Thank you all so much!
3: I got absolutely SPOILED by
desert_rose who not only arranged the sketch by
ews but also got me an original page of Ozy and Millie, and we got it signed by DC Simpson in-person!
4: I got to meet friends from out of state whom I have never gotten a chance to meet before. I also, randomly, ran into members of a forum I used to frequent who RECOGNIZED me.
5: MORE AWESOME!
6: I got to draw on-stage live during the dance on Sunday night, and got to fill the dance hall with marker fumes as I made a MURAL OF AWESOME! I'm so proud of that picture, I'll have to take a picture sometime and post it. It was freaking awesome.
7: Smut. Lots of it. X3
Anyways, that's all I can think of at 2:44 in the morning, so WOOO! FC!
*falls over*

So... Angry...
Posted 18 years agoSo, some of you might've wondered why I'm not posting a lot of artwork recently... Well in point of fact, it's because of SCHOOL!
Yes, crappy crappy school.
Speaking of school, I'm royally SCREWED!
So here's why... In the order of chronological events.
1: We have to make a research project about the ethnic diversity in restaurants and every time I go to a restaurant it seems to be the one time there's no-one there, so I got a relatively small sample size unfortunately.
2: I am severely limited in mobility and time, so the fact that I was able to get out at the right time AT ALL is amazing.
3: I had to work until late late on Thursday to get all my data written up and sent in on time.
4: I sent in the e-mailed data, and all seemed well for a while. Then, tonight, I got a message saying that one of the group members had arranged WITH THE TEACHER to get myself and this other member thrown out of the group for getting poor results, and we are now forced to pool our limited data and draw shaky conclusions. This other member has INCREDIBLY strict demands on his time, and has no car either, so the fact that he got to A restaurant at the right time is just freaking amazing.
5: I now have to draw conclusions from my own data because, assuming all was well, I didn't check my e-mail until tonight. The project's due tomorrow, I have very little time to do it, I'm stressed, lonely and just had a minor breakdown.
... You know what, fuck it, I'm gonna go get ice cream.

Sunrise and Gibberish
Posted 18 years agoI got to see a sunrise this morning.
This may not strike people as particularly unnatural, but I usually see a sunrise after SLEEPING a little.
I haven't slept since... Well... Sunday. I have a lot to do today though, and I'll likely be consuming mass amounts of caffeine to allow me to complete my tasks and remain conscious. It would not do, for instance, if I were to pass out in the health center, and get condoms everywhere. Because no one likes waking up to a faceful of condoms.
So my friend Alan and I played video games until 5 AM, and I found I was miraculously wide awake. So I fidgeted a bit, played some Diablo II, read some comics, hoping beyond hope that sleep would take me soon, but oddly, it did not, and now I'm contemplating getting breakfast, because I BELIEVE the convenience store is open by this hour...
Mm, it's nice, staying up all night sometimes, the sunrise really was beautiful...
Makes me wanna start on one of my stories.
And now... Coffee and doughnuts.

Rusty the DM (Scary isn't it?)
Posted 18 years agoSoooo I just got done hosting a 2-day marathon of D&D at my house, in which I drank too many Monster energy drinks, stayed up way too late, and ran my players through a sewer-themed dungeon full of creatures, puzzles, conspiracies and surprises, culminating in a massive dragon war and the players being marooned in another plane of existence! Fun!
Mwahahaha!
Anyways, I'm gonna have to think of a whole new storyline 'cos D&D and GURPS are what we play almost constantly at the dorms, and it would be ill-done of me to not be properly prepared.
Feh, I'll probably just BS it again.
Mwaha
Anyways, oh and I got a call from one of my new room-mates, named Christine. Heh, and there's someone named Tori there too. X3 Emily thinks it'd be funny if I ended up in a suite with four girls and me. *chuckles*
Not that I'd really mind, I get along better with girls anyways.
So yeah, schoolyear approaching, and D&D... Wow...
o.o

Shameless Girlfriend Promotion

Well my girlfriend asked me to advertise for her, 'cos she's making badges now and will probably be selling them in the future. She's supposed to be making the badges for the gofurs for Further Confusion, so you may see her work there too.
Here's the journal with the details.
LOOOOK AT TEH BADGEEEZ.

Owl Stretching Time
Posted 18 years agoOr, more accurately, our stretching time. >.>
Sooo, Emily and I decided to put the feeldoe to the test, and well it works wonderfully but...
Or rather butt...
Eh heh... ^.^;
It's been a looooong time since I've had any sort of gay-like action, and while admittedly my first time I did wonderfully... This time it was the largest feeldoe available... And it's been over a year since I've done anything similar.
I now have great sympathy for my ex-girlfriend. >.>;

Addicted To Speed Sketching
Posted 18 years agoMy gods I'm addicted to cheap, quick and dirty multi-user art programs... More specifically the Funny Junk scribble pad thingy... Here.
It's great! I get to draw with simple tools, and interact with other people. Since OC and other similar programs for some reason refuse to work with my computer... This is a great boon.
My only real complaint is the age ranges from 10-15 on average so I feel old. X3
I've been drawing there when I should be posting art. X3
Bad Rusty, bad!
And my scanner's still broken so I have little initiative. The scribble board sucks all my desire to do digital art!

I attract people from Australia!
Posted 18 years agoI swear it's true!
I have more friends and acquaintances in Australia due to my online chatting and doodling than I do in my own hometown! X3
It's craaaaazy... One day, when I arrive there on vacation, I'm gonna be swarmed by all the people who know me... Because I will know half the bleedin' continent!
Mwahahahaha... It's late, I'm stressed, which is probably why I'm posting this.
That and I just made ANOTHER Australian friend. *chuckles*
Ah iz jusht irresistable!

Holy Crap Feeldoe!
Posted 18 years agoSo yeah, my girlfriend and I got our Toy today. We got a Stout version with vibrator, and, let me tell you, it's wonderful... Big... But wonderful. For those of you who don't know what a feeldoe is...
http://www.feeldoe.com
It's frickin' awesome... And soon, very soon, we shall be... Screwing around with it *badum-tish* full time.
As for right now, I've got some... Stretching to do. >.>;
It also comes in handy if Emmy decides she needs a lesbian lover on the side. X3
Which is okay, so long as I get to be present. :P

Why Gay Marriage is Wrong. (Stolen From MicahFennec)
Posted 18 years ago1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Sonuva...
Posted 18 years agoMy dA account has been hacked, and I'm very annoyed about it.
Most of my actual finished art was deleted off it, including pieces which I have only on another computer.
You know I can't help but wonder what motivates these people, hackers that is.
Do they get some sort of pleasure out of random destruction? Mischief, I can understand, writing BOOBIEZ across someone's page is infantile but mostly harmless. This deletion of artwork however is just... Stupid, and pointless. Why do people feel a need to destroy what others have created? Is it merely because they haven't the wit to appreciate it? Or are they jealous of the fact that someone can make art when all they can do is write code. Granted, writing code and stealing passwords is an art, but by all the gods, do something constructive with it.
*snorts*
I know hackers who remotely fix people's computers, and those people I respect for their knowhow and cleverness. But this wanton destruction and/or defacement that seems to amuse so many hackers is annoying beyond measure, and serves no purpose.
Gods I hate destructive hackers...

*snorts*
I know hackers who remotely fix people's computers, and those people I respect for their knowhow and cleverness. But this wanton destruction and/or defacement that seems to amuse so many hackers is annoying beyond measure, and serves no purpose.
Gods I hate destructive hackers...
Questions, YAY!
Posted 18 years agoSo, because my girlfriend told me about someone else doing it, and as the gods know, I have no free will where her urging is concerned... Except when I do...
Anyways... I'm answering questions. Any questions! Well unless they're about other people.
... Well specifics about other people anyway.
Anyways, ask away, I will never shy from an answer! Ever!

Fur-st entry. (Har Har!)
Posted 18 years agoIt seems somewhat inappropriate to begin my first journal entry with a long-winded rant, so in lieu of that, I shall revel for a while in the memory of my extended birthday celebration.
The celebration began on the actual day of my birth, February first. My girlfriend arrived on the first, and after some public merrymaking with our friends, things went to a more... Personal celebration, the details of which I will not divulge here.
*grins at the memory and chuckles*
Rest assured though that it was as loving and exciting a reception as may be expected between two vulpine lovers who've not seen one another in weeks.
In any event, the next day I was not feeling well, so I skipped class, and MORE partying went on once I was feeling better. That evening, my girlfriend and I went up to my house in the mountains and had dinner with my parents. We found, to our dismay, that I had misplaced our large bag of contraceptives so our night was not as exciting as it may have been, though the fun did last longer...
The following morning, I drove up north to pick up an old friend, a wonderful girl indeed, and then we all returned to my abode and played games until the sun went down. It was then that I found that the last party was not arriving that night due to unforseen circumstances, so we began the festivities in full, serving the cake and opening the presents that were so lovingly wrapped. We all ate cake and played video games late into the night, then all three of us left standing once midnight tolled retired to my bed for rest.
The following day, the missing party had arrived, bringing with them tales of their adventure, which, though eventful and exciting are not for my lips, or fingers to tell. Both of my friends seemed drained by the ordeal, and if they had not seen fit to only stay for a short while, I would've offered my bed and insisted they get some sleep. Still, we made merry until such a time as the festivities were forced to end, for no matter how merry the occasion, there will be a time when responsibilities catch up. Such was the time, and my heart was heavy to see my friends go.
Then it was just myself and my girlfriend, holding one another in the wake of the party, each basking in the other's presence. Then came the time for our own departure, and we began the trek to her home first. As I held her in my arms, now only a few hours ago, I kissed her lips and although I knew I would see her in but a few more days, I knew it would feel like an eternity.
So it was that I came here, to my dormroom, where I toiled over my homework, which I have yet to finish. I plan to inform the professor that I was sick, which is quite true, and deal with the rest in the morning.
So, until my next post, whenever that may be...
Farewell, wherever you fare, my fair furry friends and fine fuzzy companions.
May love warm your heart when the winter of indifference threatens.
