Posted 8 years agoHey yeah, there's a 40% sale on Armello and it's free to play for the next two days, or close to it.
I've done a couple of games and it seems decentish.

Might as well throw my hat into the ring. I'd be a fool not to.
And hey, if you come across this entry before May 25th and would like a sketch and haven't yet entered yourself and aren't actually Toulouse themselves you might as well enter also.

23. Favourite sport (to play)? I enjoy skiing but that's more due to the shared culture and environment; I don't do it competitively.

Random thought and Book Review #1
Posted 14 years agoI hadn't really planned on putting anything in my account, it was only intended to be a way for me to let all these great people know what I thought about their work.
And maybe because I needed to be a member to view? My memory is a little fuzzy on things that I have no need to remember.
Anyway, I finished reading a book recently that I couldn't let pass without comment.
Out of the dark by David Weber.
The writing was decent enough to get me to the end of the book, despite the monumental facepalm I had at the sudden ex machina towards the end.
Can we get a spoiler tag in journals? I can't be sure right now.
Anyway...
The human race is saved from orbital annihilation by vampires.
Yeah. Vampires.
But yeah, half-decent characterisation and scene-setting. I never had trouble working out who was talking to whom and why.
Will I be looking for other books written by this author? Not likely, though I doubt I'll go to the effort of avoiding any other books written by David Weber if they pass my desk and appear interesting enough.
