Hey all! Thanks so much for the warm reception. I am glad to be back and creating again. =]

I have begun to support myself with my art, and to this end I have created a Patreon account over at patreon.com/ryoken for anyone who would like to support me and my future artistic efforts! It has the usual high res art files, base pencil scans for colored pictures, and hundreds of previously unscanned arts, doodles and scraps. Bark and hello! I'm not sure who all still follows me here, but after a long and difficult journey I have returned. A lot has happened and much has changed, and I am going to need some time to get my momentum back on track, but I am ready to start again! I'll be posting a bunch of stuff I doodled in the years I was absent, as well as the new content I create going forward as I pivot back into art as a way to feed me and my dogs. ^^ I will have more official info available as it develops, but as of now I am open for commissions again! Yeah, I didn't want to do this. I have a lot of work on my plate, as well as a multitude of projects I'm currently working on. This coupled with my art drive suffering over Nev leaving me has led me to the decision to close down on commissions for the year. I'm sorry if you've been hoping for a spot, but I will definitely be opening up again after I've had some time to catch up and heal.

In the meantime, be on the lookout for some fun new things!

I'm finally ready to open back up for commissions! I really seem to get backed up on colored work, so I want encourage more sketches. That being said, I'm going to do it a little differently this time around:

* There are just sketches and colored pictures... there's no differentiation based on content (backgrounds, characters, adult nature, quality, etc)
* All commissions increase by $5 for each person in the respective queue. If the queue is empty, the prices will be discounted by $5! See the queue in my footer for the current rate.
* Sketches are $30 and will look something along the ilnes of http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16617034/
* Colored pictures are $55 and will look something along the lines of http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14640656/
* Turn times are typically quick (within a week for the first proof), but are completely based on my workload and muse. Sketches are much faster than colored pictures however!
* Commissions don't close: the lines will always be open until I stop doing commissions entirely! If you don't want to pay extra, you can treat it like a normal commission and just wait for the line to go away (akin to waiting for slots to open up) and pay the lower rates.

To get a commission, please paypal ryoken[at]ryoken.net and send me details of what you would like via the same email. A spot in line (and therefore the price) will not be secured until I have received the payment.

So Nevir's and my work situation just took a turn for the grim. Despite my previous decision to hold off on commissions in favor of enjoying personal work, I really need to generate some more income. As such, I will most likely be opening up for commissions very soon! That being said, I have been entertaining the idea of doing some YCH auctions for some times now. Any thoughts, tips or advice regarding those? Thanks all!

I've started to get some inquiries as to where I and my art have been for the past while, so I figured I'd post an update.

First off,  Nevir and I purchased our first home and have spent the last two months dealing with that process. We were able to move in a couple weeks back and are still in the process of unpacking and making it home! It's an amazing place, and I am extremely grateful for it! This is the great news.

The bad news... As I'm fairly certain most are aware, Nevir and I are in a committed, loving relationship. A few weeks ago, Nevir's brother-in-law told our pastor about this relationship against our will. Since then, Nevir and I have been constantly assaulted by friends and family seeking to fix and correct us. Additionally, we have been completely dismissed and cut off from our church and support groups of 15 years. Without getting too much into the effects that's having on us, it is sufficed to say that my artwork has suffered. I am seeking a peace in my life that will allow for creativity again, but presently I am completely consumed with defending myself and simply trying to stay sane.

Hey all! The good news is that I was able to secure very promising employment! The bad news is I am going to need to put a hold on new commissions until I get a good grasp of the job and know how much time I will be able to allocate to side art. So, if you were hoping to get a commission but haven't contacted/paid me yet to get on the list, hang in there and I'll be open again soon!

As a reminder, the Dragons against Bullying raffle is still going! Last I heard it was just on the cusp of hitting the first stretch goal, so go get your raffles and win free art, comics and bad dragon toys!

With my graduation complete, I am able to begin working on commissions once again! My commissions tab gives a pretty good idea of where prices may fall, but I'm in need of revisiting them, so most pricing will be done on a case-by-case basis. Commissions will be completed within days of payment as well, so now is definitely the time to get one from me if you've any inclination!

On a related note, I lost all my jobs once I graduated as all of them were in one way or another tied to being a student. As such, I would also greatly appreciate referrals to anyone else interested in commissions to me while I attempt to find permanent employment! Every little bit helps. =]

I wanted to thank everyone for the kind words an encouragrment. I for one believe that prayer helps in powerful ways, and this case is no exception.  Nevir has asked that I post a low key update on his status.

Last night, Nev took a fall playing softball and mashed his head against something. Half an hour later he started losing limb functionality and had what is believed to be a series of seizures. He was whisked away to the hospital in an ambulence where... Stuff happened. After a long night, Nev has gotten to the point where he has regained limb functionality and several scans have shown no severe internal damage. We're not out of the woods, but he's doing much better a lot sooner than expected.

After a few years of iron artists and random commissions and feedback, I think I've gotten a solid pay structure going. Along with this, I'm ramping up the commissions in an attempt to raise some last minute funds for AnthroCon and the related expenses! So, my poor little miata has served its purpose and is in need of replacing. I'm currently interested in the Honda fit and the Mazda2 (or Mazda3). Does any of you car nuts (or consumers) have any experience or feedback regarding these vehicles?

On January 2nd, 2013, I put my dear Girly to sleep. Around Christmas I took her in to the vet, prompted by her lack of eating for the past few days. They found a grapefruit sized malignant tumor on her liver and growths in the heart and lungs. We tried various pills to bring back her appetite and energy, but in the end it was too much for her.
