Hey kids. Shit's gone up and down pretty rapid-fire over the past few months, and as a result, productivity (and ability, to an extent) to do the sprites people have asked for had gone down the shitter.

Hey kids, how are all.. what, is it three now? Four? *goes to check* Okay, 73 of you watching me do not much? That's bordering on creepy. SETTING THIS ASIDE FOR THE MOMENT, I've got something serious to share.

I don't talk about my personal life often, because really, it's none of all y'all furfag's business (I say furfag with love~), but figured a bit of sharing wouldn't hurt here. The day started pretty well, got to an interview on not-quite-time-but-I-called-so-it-was-okay time, got the job~ Not only does it pay a crapton of money, it's sporadic enough work to allow for another job to be jammed in there, possibly haphazardly. After getting the good news, I visited an old taco haunt on Cap Hill, where I was delighted to discover they now sell little tiny hardshell tacos for a buck apiece, and they are amazing <3.

Went up north to visit an old friend, got along well, had curry, chatted, watched a movie. During the movie, I got a call. It was my mom. She calls pretty often, but usually not that late. I pick up, not thinking much of it.

She tells me that my brother's in the hospital, has lied about where he lives for the past few years, and has fresh trackmarks from heroin use. Was told some scary shit that I'd rather not share here. I hate to say it, but I think someday soon he's gonna crash and just kick the bucket. Funny, I thought I'd more or less accepted this, but here I am, tearing up. fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

Here's the question. Should I be allowed to feel good about getting a job, or should I focus my energy entirely on helping out the rest of the family? I feel like I haven't been allowed to feel genuinely happy about things for quite some time. Content, yes, but happy's a different beast. But at the same time, my family is very important to me.

After the idea was rejected by the local police department, we opted for conbadges instead.

Welp, folks that asked kinda bailed (all for good, valid reasons, for the most part). I know this is getting beamed out to absolutely fuckin' no one, but anyone want a bead sprite?

Not gonna go into the details or politics here, if you already know what this is about then it requires no explanation, if you don't know and want to go look it up, if you know and want to yell at me for fursecuting you can just not comment. Y'know, like a rational person.

Anyhoo, this is basically a call to... um, pens, I guess, to get together an "unacceptable upload" pic that'll result in a ban from inkbunny. Creativity's encouraged here, and as long as nothing illegal is done in the process, anything effective is much desired. Go read their site rules, figure out how to break them beautifully, and get to work!

Also, should maybe explain how I'm doing this. Basically, I parse together the sprite on my computer, then the lady tosses them together on the grid. You get pictures of the thing before it's melded together. If it's a go, you send forth payment, we iron it off, and mail it to YOUUUUUUUU~

Anyhoo,  Mocha_Mephooki posted a rather provocative submissionjournal thing very recently. All two of you reading this, go check it out.

Reading it got me thinking. Why am I here, in this fandom, with this character, etc. Well, the answer's pretty simple. It's fun.

A lot of people take their character(s) as an extension of themselves, often as a projection of what they want to / wish they could be. This can be mild, from basically a direct copy of the physical person with a little minor tweaks, to heavy, like your seven-cocked sparkledogdragonvixen2000 limited editions. I hold no issue with this, as it's often just in the name of fun and/or fapping. This is basically where I am with my Ryo, who I more or less look like, but with slightly more hair. Maybe when I feel quasi-comfortable with it, I'll post a picture, but honestly it's not THAT hard to find one of me, if you know what you're doing.

Most people don't know this (including my sweet, loving girlfriend), but I have a second character I toy around with, a pudgy busty technophile vixen with a penchant for kink. I'll drop a name if prodded, but it's honestly not important enough to note. Again, she's there for fun, and I hardly have myself deluded into thinking I'm her.

On that last note, I know many a furre that identify as their character, on a deeper level. Again, I'm fine with that. It's when they think full-on that they ARE that character that I start being concerned. It's the start of a slippery slope, and the bottom of that slope can be quite dark. Some people end up idolizing their own character in an antagonistic way, berating themselves for not being as great and wonderful and whatnot as them. In extreme cases, it leads to physical harm. I've seen it, it's not pretty.

What's potentially just as damaging but seems far less a threat from an outside observer is classical furry drama. Roleplaying can be fun, and dramatic roleplaying can be a great mental and literary exercise, but at the end of the day, drama is drama. If you have difficulty handling it in real life, you may be better off not pretending it. I've seen in this fandom, specifically the online sector due largely to the double-ended veil of anonymity that fursonas and regular internet anonymity provide, people reduced to tears, cutting themselves, all sorts of horrible things. Because of little characters that exist in their heads and in art and text.

Whoever actually ends up reading this, feel free to agree or disagree. I'd prefer if you not try changing my opinion, because, well, you won't. If you happen to be one of the people I mentioned in the latter part of this journal, step away from the computer and go explore yourself for a few days. Improving yourself is easier than you think.

Hey there, all. Or some. Maybe very few. I haven't a damn clue.

As none of you may know, I do not do the art. Specifically drawing, painting, musicmaking, smearing blood on walls to make frescas, anything like that. I've got all these fantastic ideas rolling around in my head, but my severe lack of talent in the artistic world (outside of cooking) keeps me from expressing them.

That said, I've recently discovered a way to express my talents in an unusual but effective way: perler bead sprites.

To explain briefly, they're beads that can be arranged and fused together to create a two-dimensional pixelated image, better known as a sprite.

Got the idea from somewhere on yonder internets (they're typically used for videogame sprites), and thought that I could take my interest in this and go with it.

Got a simple sketch of a character you want made into a perler bead sprite? Toss it at me, I'll do a bit of work and give you a quote on it. Don't exactly have any examples of my work up to view yet, but I will soon enough.

Prices are very much "make an offer" right now, if this gets off the ground then I'll probably make a price breakdown. Oh, and if anyone wants, I could convert the sprite into a magnet, for your fridge.
