Regarding patreon rewards and commissions
General | Posted 3 years agoIt was October 2021 when I started offering rewards, when I first started Substar/Patreon I didn't expect such a big support or honestly didn't expect any
However at this time I find myself behind on commissions thanks to my inability to keep up with two different lists, having to complete rewards within a month, up to 5-6 have proven to bee too much for me.
I'm sorry to inform you, the future of rewards is... uncertain, as you have seen, prioritizing rewards has been proven not only to slow me down with other paid work but been unfair for people who've been on my list for a while, of course I take all responsibility for this and will see thru and get people their commissions in an appropriate time over the next two months.
I've further discussed this with patrons and some clients on queue alike, it's for the best to stop right now, think about what I want to offer on patreon again, besides HQ files, discord and discounts and occasional postcards or stickers.
Again, I'm sorry if patreon or reward exclusives was something you liked or looked forward to be posted, in the future I'll work to bring something y'all guys would like to see.
For the time being I'll soon be contacting clients on my queue with thumbnail sketches/sketches.
Also get ready for the November art dump, it's small but I did some pieces I hope you'll enjoy too.

Hello there! I hope you all are doing great!
For those who don't know me, my name is Morgan and I'm a 26 y.o trans man (closeted to my parents).
I know I don't often talk much about myself on my art accounts, but right now I haven't been doing so well. My family situation has been complicated, I have been living with my mom for over 3 years now, sharing a single room and a bed and that honestly hasn't bothered me at all, I pay for some of my expenses and supplies and we've been cohabitating just well.
Recently we've had to take one of my older sisters in, in order to keep her company so she isn't alone, since she had a 3rd suicide attempt and my parents don't trust she'll not try it again, I've been making sure she wakes up at a decent time, I make her breakfast and take care of a few things around the house for her, take her to her appointments and manage her medications, and it honestly doesn't bother me, I am helping my sister get better and get back on her feet again.
But the thing is, our living space is small, and since she moved in with us I've had to sleep in our supplies room of sorts, I only have a small tent to sleep in, a few blankets and that's all, I have very little privacy, in the beginning I didn't even have much privacy if any at all, but lately I rarely have time alone and to work on my commissions, plus my back pain has only been getting worse, since I barely fit in the tent, I sincerely can't keep on living like this, my sister is struggling but so I am, I have to put up with her mood swings and have had fights over stuff often, I am not even allowed to reprimand her things such as not cleaning her current living space or leaving a mess for me to clean around the house, because if I reprimand her she'll no longer want to live with us and will want go live on her own (or that's what my mom believes) despite not having a job currently or no one else to go to, it's been extremely stressing for me.
For my own good and well being I've decided I want to move, but with my current irregular working hours it's been hard for me to save enough to move out, I need to be able to at least move away with my computer to keep working, I need to be able to pay for rent, bills and food, I wish to move closer to my boyfriend to different state from where I'm currently living so if I needed immediate help or can no longer pay for food or rent I can at least rely on him.
I've had my Subscribestar set up for that exact purpose for a while, while it had been on my mind that I wanted/needed to move out, now for the first time it is URGENT that I MOVE OUT, for my mental health and health in general, I may be ((needed)) here, but my sister has my mom, my relatives and my oldest sister to rely on, yet I've had to carry most of the burden.

General | Posted 4 years agoJust a quick journal to announce collab commissions I do with will temporarily be closed. At lealst ultil he's fully out of quarantine (he only tested positive this Wednesday).
Don't worry, we live in different cities and haven't seen each other since the beginning of June.
I would have loved to draw some commissions for this current sale with him but I don't want to push him to work when he's not feeling fine. That's mostly the reason why I did not include a link to our collab pricelist on this last sale.
In the mean time, you know regular commissions are open ✨

That... and I'll be as well adding a few things to my T.O.S, will too be removing 2 tiers, sketch and lineart as they're not that requested.
I will probably still open sketch commissions from time to time as I see fit.

Paypal policy update >>> Raising commission prices

I'm sorry to bring "bad news" this early in the day, but this has been bothering me for a while now and wanted to talk about it and how it affects me and you (as a client) as well.
About a week ago paypal announced a change in their service policy
https://www.paypal.com/mx/webapps/m.....locale.x=en_MX
Basically it means a few things:
1. No longer being able to keep paypal balance, money will be sent to your bank account at the end of the day.
2. USD will automatically be converted to MXN (so you'll be subjected to the daily currency change) (making me pay for it every day instead of paying it once every 1-2 weeks)
3. Payment plans will be disabled, this one I'm not sure if it'll mean I won't be able to use payment plans or I can't use payment plans on my invoices (meaning you'll have to pay invoices whole)
It has me worried since I'll be receiving less money, I'm already paying the usual normal fees and now I'll be paying daily currency exchange rates that I cannot control nor predict
Also since I can't keep balance anything I buy in USD will be subjected to the same exchange meaning I'll be paying more than the current USD exchange (since paypal has it's own currency exchange)
It sucks, I know.... I been trying to find other services to use, that you guys also use, but it's really hard, not everyone uses Venmo or Strype it reduces the chances of clients being able to pay for commissions.
So the only likely solution is raising commission prices, sadly, despite these new policies I can't bring myself to drop paypal as a payment method for international clients
Ofc I'll drop it for local clients but lmao that's not even a 5% of my usual clientele
I'll be uploading an updated commission list on Sept 25th, before that I'll still be using the last pricelist.
So this is a small heads up for upcoming changes.
Please also have in mind that right now I still have a 20% OFF sale, take the chance to buy commissions for cheaper before I inevitably have to raise prices....

I'm not thinking about SOON but at the beginning of next year, since I need to plan out stuff (original content, progress videos/gifs, art packs, PSD/SAI files, rewards, pin ups) and save to upgrade my computer for better streaming quality.
I have a poll running on Facebook so I'd love if you could help me figure out if it's a good idea ^^
Also in other news: I have two upcoming planned breaks:
📌 The first one from July 25th to Aug 2nd to prepare for make-up exams (*sobs*;;;) before this break I hope to finish most of my commissions or at least delivery some good progress on them.
📌 The second one from Aug 6th to Aug 13th, I have a camping trip to help protect the turtles at a local beach, so I won't have wi-fi or be able to work on anything around that time. After this break I go back to classes and my working hours and commission spaces will be shortened considerably.
There's a few days between these two breaks, which I hope will be enough to delivery the rest of the commissions. (I'm working at a steady peace so I really think I'll be able to meet my own deadlines).
I'll be talking to commissioners personally if I have to make them wait extra time, this post is just a heads up so you know why I won't be as active or downright MIA.

That's most of it? it makes me happy, partly because I'll stop feeling bad about not being able to work commissions (or the fact that I have been leaving the super difficult ones for the end), in fact I haven't had much leisure time lately as this is my final's week (well, this week + Monday) that plus having mom over every weekend and having to drive her around ALL DAY LONG. Sighs.
I have already contacted some of you for the small extra art you're getting as an apology, some I haven't contacted yet;; but will as soon as I'm free uwu, most will be flat colored chibis, but for the person that has been waiting the most and has been super patient I'll definitely make something bigger as I'm super thankful for being thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis patient (you know who you are *eyes emoji*)
Hopefully will get some art trades done as well, as other owed art and some SS's I signed up for on FB (I suck I know)
Maybe open one or two discounted commission slots for the holidays, maybe some Christmas art of my characters as well!!

When you're drunk it's hard to lie so, these things are bound to happen for me, at least
I'm not feeling very well as of lately, personally, academically and even artistically, I won't go into details this time with the personal and academic parts, but with the art part.
This is where the story time begins! remember I been trying to sell small quick headshots on facebook (furry) sales groups to raise funds? those, yeah, while offering one I was asked if I could show more of my art, and I did! among the pieces I showed was a YCH commission, one of my "oops I fell" YCH, specifically this one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23614156/
I apparently called someone's attention, and from then on I was harassed for art theft!!??? without any proof, just a feeling they had seen the pose before... I have some screen caps from my phone before the post was deleted by a mod/admin (that literally rescued me from further harassing)

It's funny that I did send them an uncensored version so they could search and try to fit it on someone else's drawing (if they did find, said imaginary drawing)
I just felt, shitty? that someone literally threatened me for something I didn't do, have never done, and will never do.... I think after that headshot comms dropped sales too... I feel like this is way too unfair... to ruin someone's mood (or even day, week, month) because of something you swear you saw before and then call ift tracing or art theft.
The funny thing is, that someone did trace one of my "oops I fell" YCHs? some guy wanted a link to my FA gallery and gladly linked him, he came back showing me my NSFW drawing and saying he's touching himself to them, didn't go into details or sent pictures, but was hella uncomfortable... I brushed of directing him to my kofi and pricelist if he wanted hahaha...

I been thru a lot in the past 2+ months, including my grandmother passing away, my relatives (including my mom) fighting over her possessions and inheritance, my parents divorcing (which is a very good thing, but I didn't want all this NOW) and of course school being a big bad bitch and stressing me out even more...
I won't go into details about anything other that school is taking a big chunk of my actual "free" time, since I have to get 2 clinical cases for pathology and my attempts at getting a decent one have been futile :'3 DESPITE SPENDING SO MUCH TIME ON THEM, it's been so bad my friend offered to let me use her cat's possible chronic kidney failure.. also I got my lowest grade in a while in a midterm *coughs* 4/10 *coughs* so I literally have to break my head to raise my grades... (is it weird that I talk about my major?)
Long story short, I had been to busy and mentally tired to get on my laptop to do anything other than my homework (btw, who invented school sites, who gives you 3 hours to turn in a paper???), lately things have gotten better on the "personal side" so despite not having oh so much time I have more energy to work on commissions, I'll try to finish as many as I can during my free time specially over the weekends if I don't get any wonky hw to upload on the school site :'3

I miss my housemates!! so much!!! AND you should have seen my car again, it was packed even fuller than before :'D aaah but the bright side is, I get to take in my brother's dog, Kala, she's like a big puppy, like, very big, and dumb she lived in a backyard all her life without much human interaction (that's why I took her in) so she's a very awkward dog, heh
Anyway, so yeah!! I'll be around as much as I can!! finish all the stuff I owe, I kind of really wish I could open commissions again soon, I'm almost blonde again, I could use some hair dye *sobs* I died my hair a different shade of blue/purple while I wasn't around FA... General | Posted 8 years agoUGH, just... sorry I really really had a ton of things going on and finally I have "time" I just went back to college today (at day late), ahh well we had a free day on tuesday but I had so much to unpack and buy and cook and it was a mess...
Like I said if I'm taking extremely long on your commission please don't worry, I'll make it up to you (I have done so in the past, first two crayon chibis were a gift for taking so long on commissions)
anyway, I don't have homework yet so evenings will be FB live evenings, because I feel more compromised to work on commissions if I'm being watched, so come watch (a link can be found below here or on my profile info), I'll try to go online anytime around 4-10 pm (-6 GTM) and stay onlie for at least an hour? or two or more if wifi doesn't die or something.
I just realized speed is terrible here, we're switching companies to the one we had at the residence probably soon???
ALSO, I should really have saved for a desk chair, the one they gave me doesn't have the back piece so my back is killing me.... and I can't adjust height so I had to put my tablet on the table so it feels funny and a bit more tiring to draw.... augh....
I'll come back to upload a thingy for when I go online, maybe sketching a tiny ello or smth in the meantime, also chat function is impossible using xplit, I'll answer comments after I'm done breadcasting :D bear with me!! please!!11

So there's still no concrete date yet but yep! vacay! so expect me to disappear a few days (I'll give you heads up when I have a date!) also do expect me to disappear tomorrow too because VOLTRON (and now instead of going to the retreat I have an appointment to get my passport HA)

The other thing I wanted to talk about it, that I'm going to a retreat with my mom on aug 4,5 and 6 so I'll be taking those off along with 3th because there's a premiere (?) of Voltron's 3rd season on Netflix and it happens to be released at 2 am on the 4th which is the day I'm leaving, AT 7 AM... I'm not sleeping at all before the retreat so thursday will be used to sleep to my heart's content.
I'm not into the whole YOGA retreat thing, but I was promissed massages and other amenities and therapies that could oh so help my anxiety and stress, and my stiff shoulders :D plus it's pretty much my task to go with mom to anywhere she wants and doesn't want to go alone.
I get everything on my to-do at least sketched before then, hopefully? maybe finish a piece or two out of the ones that take less time to finish rather than depending on the order (so I don't feel like I left without finishing anything)
