Posted 18 years agoSo, when I was getting ready for work today I got rushed and accidentally jabbed myself with a q-tip. I think I may have suffered brain damage.

Possible Kiriban?
Posted 18 years agoOkay, so, it's no sure bet or anything... >_> Cause y'know, I'm lethargicaly apathetic, and appaulingly uninspired... but I think that I might try and do a kiriban for whoever happens to get my 1981'st pageview.
Why mind you? Brownie points to whoever happens to actually realize, or just guess, why.

Changing of pace.
Posted 19 years agoSo, I see people going around and doing this "Feature" Meme... can't say I care for it much, nor that it'd really help anyone that wanted to be seen to be really posted here on my page. However, I can say that I at least like the idea of people featuring other people's art and giving a highlight to the fact as a sort of testimony.
Therefor[however long it last]e I'm gonna try and start doin' my own little feature corner... I guess. I dunno... I guess part of it is me adding my own little two cents when I find an artists whose works I really like in particular. Mind you, I'm not gonna do shit about telling them personally cause it seems to reek of a pretentious selfishness that almost demands recognition from that person. Not that making such a statement as I did helps any sort of fact I could claim otherwise, but it's my personal agenda to do this without a sense of give or take being asked from those I speak of. [Hell, some might not even like the attention after all.] {My BAC may be more than zero for these after all}
Anyhow................
With no further ado...

Now then, onto the reasons why I've chosen to spotlight this person's work.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/241411/
I'll start off simple and build up. So here we go with the first example. It's one of those "cute little chibi" Style comics that seem to be so ram-fuckin'-pantly going on around the internet. Most of the times I just find this kind of stuff to be some spreading disease in artists that makes them figure that if they can draw something in a deformed, cute manner, and try to insert a little joke it'll be okay [oftentimes using a copy paste technique with their panels]
For one I like the various little expressions of the character which show quite a bit about the focus's emotions without having to resort to the all to overused idea of exposition. Besides this it doesn't have the careless feeling that others put into their little chibi pics. The lines are clean, the colors stand out, and little marks here and there help add to the different emotions. An extra touch here, an added line there, they all come together to make the picture itself feel a bit more lively. Pieces added, pieces missing, there's a balance to what is and isn't shown in the different poses that helps things be that much more fascinating.
SECOND!

The exaggerated pose, the position of the character to the tilted street, and am almost confident expression from the character. It gives me a real sense of the character's importance. It gives me a feeling that something more is going on besides a pretty picture. His eyes focusing slightly to his side as if there were someone that he was adressing someone off the panel. Kind of like a dramatic entrance for one of the main characters of some comic book. Plus this picture shows a lot of what I like about
ayato 's style. Rough lines, hatching, shading, little spots across the street that make these pictures a little noir, and adding a sense of reality that can't be found in something that's too clean.
Okay... now for some faults I suppose

I think it's missing a hand...
Hmmm. to be honest, nothing really stand out from this gallery that I'd focus in particular on... Well, okay, one thing... [no women!] {Ladies}
Anyhow, Enjoy his work yeah?

Posted 19 years agoSo, I'm over here at MFF, and... I haven't been sober since Thursday really...
I bought myself a nice little suitcase worth of mini-bar and I've been mixing drinks for myself and the roomies, playing the role of bartender. [with a good bit of encouragement] (for more booze). I've had many the pleasent rum drinkings as well as finding out that you can make a DELICIOUS Concoction of a Grasshopper by switching out Starbucks cream liquer for regular Cream. I've also made a mojito, Tropical Hurricane, white lady, B52's, and well.... more... Lotta fun though.... Oh, not to mention passing out a few pounds worth of candy.
Tommorrow I'm supposed to hang out with one of the roomates at the mall and hopefully I can get my special sketchbook back from the dealer I asked a sketchbook commission of. [For another one] Maybe even get myself a conbadge while I try and think about what I can get for my girlfriend when I get back home. (Oh Crap!)
And, as a final note... I have (-16 messages) [!!!!NEGATIVE MESSAGES!!!!]

Posted 19 years agoSo, yeah, I guess I'm gonna go and do the "HIP" thing and follow one of these "Memes" because I'm just kinda bored and lack direction... Anyhow, if you want a quick little sketch I'll do my best to fill in the first FIVE people that manage to fill this space [with a reply]
I'm not gonna throw in the little list of blank numbers because that's just a dead giveaway and I want people to actually read this. In the spirit of that, include something about your favorite kind of pie in your reply.
Rules are simple though, you take a space, you post the same kinda thing in your journal offerin' up five spots of art as well.

I had fun at Anthrocon... I should learn to talk more and not feel that it's impolite to simply introduce myself to someone without any lack of pretense... at least... y'know... at a fucking convention where people are kinda sometimes looking to meet other people...

Morphicon 2006
Posted 19 years agoWow, so, yeah, MORPHICON... an entire week ago now, really.
So, hmm, I guess I'll start from day one...
Friday Morning: Begin!
To begin I actually realize that I have NOTHING packed up for the con. I spend an hour finding what I need and throwing it into my bag. This hour, however, is spent over the course of three as my friend Alex awaits his attractive sister's arrival to return his cigarette packing kit. [he rolls his own now, as that's cheaper.]
Breakfast! One simply cannot start without it. I enjoyed myself a nice Eggs Micheal, at the Original Pancake house with Alex and his sister. At one point he'd decided to nudge me about teasing him for having a hot sister by saying "Imagine me, but with breasts."
Now, normally this would be no great deal, but you see, his sister is quite attractive as a female. He, however, is not a twink. He is a greasy ass, irish bred, potato eating sumbeetch gear monkey. The idea of him with breasts in comparison to her was so absolutely nonsensical and ridiculous that I was about ready to choke to death from laughter. Well, laughter and a bit of english muffin that had got caught in my windpipe. Seriously, blue faced and teary eyed, he had to give me a few slaps on the back.
Damn you karma and the Friend's sister rule!
After that, though it was out of the way, we went back to my place because I forgot the directions at home. Also stopped off at Jungle Jims to pack some treats away and we got some Furry Funny bear. Old Speckled Hen, who has a fox for a mascot, and Flying Dog's In Heat Wheat.
So, once we got to the place, after a detour because we got off on the WRONG END of 275 [cause we were supposed to take the road that cut THROUGH it as a shortcut.] We made it to the Con, the fact that the people at the entrance just looked... well... SO Typically furry... kinda freaked me out. A little...
We got our badges and meandered about, it was pretty fun actually but half the time I was just thinking... "Wow, this is SO... no ladies..." Okay, so there were ladies at the con, but not that many. Even less that were naturally born so. [Shush X3]
We finagled ourselves a room at the econolodge just up the road, a walk away in fact. It was only 50 bucks a night so a lot cheaper than the con hotel. Also, after being at cons like MFF, Anime Central, Otakon, and even Sakura Con, as soon as I saw how 'big' the con area was I about froze. It was SO SO SO SO SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tiny!!!!!!
That Night we went to a Cinco De Mayo room party. I had all of... TWO margaritas and drew in a corner while Alex got flat out wasted. Bored, I walked away and played a sort of duck, duck, goose kind of elimination game about werewolves. Seems that while this was happening, Alex got flat out wasted even worse than before and become quite heteroflexible. Tossing aside his devout cries of womanly love to lick and tease a guy that looks like friggin' Vash the Stampede personified. Eventually they wound up grinding on the dance floor before Alex passed out from drunkness and all of security decided to make sure he was still alive. Luckily "Vash" was actually a pro EMT.
I drove him back to the hotel as he swore adamantly that he apparently must be Bi, and that it was the only likely conclusion. This was entirely forgotten/denied the next morning.
SATURDAY!!!
I got bored early on, also pissed that Alex had drank so much and didn't even have the slightest of hangovers. He spent most of the morning just chatting in the outside smoking area. I got bored and walked off down the road because I saw a french bakery. Even if I ate a few hours ago, it was a french bakery dammit, and off I walked. Rather pleasent, but a LOT longer than I'd thought it'd be. Oh well, I could use the excercise.
When I got there I had some creme brulee and a french pressed tea named "japanese Senaka", or something. The tea was SO BAD XD. It had such a bitter taste to me and I was reminded of seaweed with every sip. Eww! but the creme brulee was pretty nice. Nothing too outstanding to me, but nice. I got some chocolate mouse cakes and a couple of tarts, then walked back.
It was nifty handing out the mice. I even had one of the security people make playful vore pics of themself eating the choco mouse cake. Didn't get to try one myself, but everyone said they were top notch. Instead I enjoyed a lovely strawberry tart and about 33 ounces of energy drink. [Sobe Gold and Tab are NASTY!!!!!!]
I participated in the Ironclaw RPG that was there and had a GRAND, GRAND I SAY, old time. Even met some cool people who I'd wished I'd ask contact info for... but I never do that kind of thing as my screwed up socially anti-active childhood causes me to find it impolite. The dice weren't usually in my favor though, guess I have to get my own next time. However, in the end I actually got voted as the most RPing of the people there and was given an awesome Ironclaw character Workbook which I now cherish. Plus the Ironclaw Novel Scars. I just wish I could get an actual Ironclaw/Jadeclaw RP group worked up locally. Xb I'd have fun.
Later on, while I was black marking [not inking] a pic, I actually got asked to do a trade by Growly Genet and her spice rack toting friend Dragon Girl. That doubly made my day ^_^.
Later on I got hungry, that night, and managed to get something from Buca Di Beppo [awesome family italian, heavy on the family]. Got a seafood linguine and a to die for tiramisu. 'Cept, it's all Family sized stuff, so even a small serves about 3 people or more and I wasn't that hungry. I wound up going all around the con pandering off my linguine and bits of tiramisu because I simply couldn't store it all. [100% success though]
Then, Alex and Havoc got TOTALLY Blitzed again. Although Alex was better off than Havoc and Jewel who were completely THRASHED!!!!!! Constantly had to shush people so we didn't get hotel staff called on us ;b.
Sunday: Got my trades in with Growly and Dragon Girl... <3!!! Found David Lilie of the future comic Dreamkeepers. [ Www.Dreamkeeperscomic.com :CHECk IT OUT!] He was offering character sketches for $10 each, and at his level of skill AND what he put into it, $10 was an absolute STEAL! If I didn't have to leave I would've headed to the bank for more cash. You can see them in the link from my previous journal.
Then it was back home to the mundane, and a long worknight in which I'd had very little [no] sleep beforehand. But I survived. Happy times. Too bad con mode can't last forever.
So, hmm, I guess I'll start from day one...

Da Pimp!
Posted 19 years agoSo, after gaining [IMO] more attention for the fact that I had a Foxy Roxy Icon than anything else, :3, I've changed my avatar.
Thanks be to Kim, artist and creator of the comic Moondog http://moondog.tripshotpress.com/ . Totally see her and adore the art.
Red panda Pimp FTW!
P.S. Holy Crap, I passed 1K views...
P.S.S... I feel super wordy today apparently...
P.S.S.S... Will I ever stop adding to this before I go to sleep?... I love staring at lint floating in the light of my room as I watch it gently waft about before me. Sometimes I bat at it playfully and then realize I didn't choose a cat as my fursona. Then I chide myself, despite not really knowing how a red panda should act besides sleeping in a tree a lot... But that seems a lot like a cat too, so then I just get confused... Wow, wordy today... I haven't even had coffee...

I am constantly TIRED of seeing people posting things from SL and the like as wank fodder because they can make their character look naked or give them a mammoth wang. I mean, it'd be fine to post a picture, or even a collage, ONE COLLAGE, of your character because you wanna say, "Hey, that's me" or something to the people that're out there too, but FOR FUCKS SAKE, we do not need galleries full of "And here they are with this poseball, and here they are with that poseball, and murr, yiffy, murr, murr, unf!"
ANYONE CAN USE THOSE, anyone can wear one of the suits you can just BUY from the stores, and ANYONE Can turn a normal wang you bought from the store into a giant Penta-pene that blasts Mega Cum Wads! But I come here for the art, and the people that do the art.
Look at Whinge, Whinge posts pics from SL of avatars... Avatars HE MAKES. THat is an artform in itself. But he does not post a picture of his store bought avvie banging another store bought avvie because it's so Yiffie! Nor does he post pictures of avvies in variously bought lingerie and go, ooh, it's transparent and you can see the naughties... or things like that... rrr...
*Has his fuse sizzle out and puff smoke, panting to calm himself down* So yeah, stop with the bullshit, Fender says so. I mean, I can stand an occassional piece or so, but when everyone posts the same damn stuff from the same damn place, with the same damn lack of any effort whatsoever, I get pissed.

Posted 19 years agoSo, I mean [like [/valleygirl]], I know people do all sorts of trades [barter system] out there and all that with the art and stuff. But I'm not really good at that [IR Teh Suxx]... I mean most [all] of the time I have trouble working through an entire full body piece unless something just screams [in pain] at me or [like [/valleygirl]] stuff... Even if I'm working on that at the moment [more art books!], I still have a real issue with mental [very mental] imaging and deciding just WHAT [Yeah..! [/Little John]] I want to actually draw without seeing a pic like it first...
Anyhow, I also realized that I've used the same Icons [lame] on LJ for quite some time and that I'm bad at doing expressions and stuff... [also working on that...] Especially with the bonus pics added... a whole six for me [cheapskate]
Rambling aside, I figured I'd see if there was anyone interested [not offended] by the idea of doing an icon trade with me? I can't promise speed [or quality] but I can say that I WILL get the icons done within the best of my ability at least.

Happy New Year!
Posted 20 years agoSo hey, Happy New Years People.
Out with the year of the Cock, into the year of the Bitch. Just because I like to say it's now the year of the Dog like that instead of, it's no longer the year of the Rooster. Anyhow, I was encouraged to do some new art, both from my determination to celebrate, as well as the fact that I just got a new book of Pin-up Art.
Whee, I love vintage pin-up girls
Yay art...?

FC No'6
Posted 20 years agoNope, ain't going. But oh well. I still wish t eh best of luck to those of you who ARE going. Because, well, it'd be rather silly of me to wish otherwise, right. I mean how horrible would it be for me to say, I hope your plane burns in the atmosphere, or that you all get VD's at FC?
Pssh, I've got an ENTIRE WORLD of people to wish that on. I don't think I'll use up my fury on what's not even lackluster pettiness. ;b Hah.
Besides, I'd rather hope that people who could USE a trip like that could go instead. Like Lyenuv, so she could forget about her boyfriend. Or Nauv, so he could find a new girl. And, well, probably a furry or two from New Orleans, I'm not sure.
But I DID want to go ONLY, and surely, for the fact that ... REN FAIRE!!! Oh what a theme.... I would've loved to seen it. Heeh. Just because.
Just make sure to get your conbages in, y'all, and take care.

Watched
Posted 20 years agoOkay, I think that I will always feel a bit nervous when an actually GOOD artist watches me... because I know i can draw and such and that My pictures aren't utter crap and such... but I also know that it's one of those things that I really have to work hard on and struggle over sometimes because it doesn't come to me all that easily. I mean I sometimes don't even draw anything for the longest of times until something just pops up.
I don't have a steady hand for inking or the patience for coloring so most all of my stuff now is just penciled and dirty.
Then I have artists, good [better] artists watching me without solicitation... y'know even the watch-backs count since there's no real obligation for it... even out of formality... it's weird... but uplifting too y'know...
Kinda thinking Ho' Shit... I can actually be considered among peers like this, even if A bit of me screams and Emos about not being up to cut. Makes me work that much harder for it y'know... that illusory zen of art that seems to radiate from all these people I look up to... working with care, determination and true effort, creating pieces which seem as though they were not of labor, but of some strange coalescence of mind and color, merely born into existence.
Of course, I think before that Happens I need to go through a few coloring books Xb.
