Haven't played any Pokemon games for ages but I'm still keeping up on what's being released and how they all look.

So, my biggest problem with these games and why I don't play them anymore, is just that they are
a) just the same one game over and over again and
b) looking so unbelievably unpolished.

I'm uuusually not one to go for good graphics only, heck one of my favorite games is Minecraft and I've thouroughly enjoyed
Realm of the Mad God for years (till frustrations happened). But it looks to me like they are not even trying to make the 3D games
look good anymore.

Sword / Shield
Legends of Arceus
Scarlet and Violet which they announced recently
(maybe some other ones or DLCs that I missed in between, also not too well versed with the 2D releases)

They all, without fail, look like they came from a console somewhere between the Nintendo 64 and the Gamecube, like this uncanny
valley of graphics, and they don't seem to be trying to improve on those either, it's the exact same for all those 3D releases. They are
Switch games, I think the Switch can handle just slightly better graphics, like Breath of the Wild, which was also simplistic in its style, but
the art direction just made it look really, really good.
Aside from the graphics I've also heard that the storylines are basically nonexistent anymore, just the blandest they could be and that
makes me a bit frustrated because, clearly one of the highest grossing franchises in the world could make a better product, but they actively
choose not to because people will buy anything with "Pokemon" in the title anyway. Like literally every single comment on the Scarlet/Violet
trailer I just saw reads "Oh my god this looks so good" and I'm just sitting there thinking "what the hell is wrong with people's eyes!?"

It's just that I'd really love to see them take a break from releasing these unfinished games, not talk about pokemon for a few years at all and
then just release one really, really good game, instead of what they are doing right now. Maybe that's just the kid in me still wishing to see a
Skyrim-esque Pokemon game for once, I mean the technology is definitely there, maybe, I don't know.

On a foot note, it's the same problem with weekly anime releases, looking at One Piece and Naruto/Boruto specifically. Just stop, take a break and
then make only 12-24 episodes actually worth watching instead of one every week that's basically just wasted budget and time.

stuff about taxes and switching insurances that can help me being better off financially in the

Happy 2022 to you all and a... late Merry Christmas I guess.
Woof relaxed the hell out of the holidays, feeling very pumped for the new year now. Was even finally
able to get a whole bunch of christmas decorations for the new place so me and Kiba had it very festive
all through December~
Side note: The broken fox statue had its other leg fixed, not very clean, but at least it's attached and the
replacement got sent as well, so now they're brothers~

Also gonna open commissions right away after this. Would usually wait till monday, but nah, wanna get
right back to drawing big floofs, have the year be as productive as the last one was, or more, without
burning myself out hopefully xd

Alright, the holidays are upon us and woof is gonna take a break from drawing from now until the new year.
Not just gonna be straight up partying and nothing else though xd Also need to renovate one more room in the new place and
constantly being drawing has made that hard, so I wanna concentrate on that now.

Other than that, woof has had his most consistent drawing year so far, kept up the monday-wednesday-friday-sunday schedule
for the whole year, with the 3 weeks break in July and December. We've also reached 10k+ watchers in the meantime which I've
wanted to make a journal about for the longest time but it still feels so unreal xd But all in all, really really good year for consistency
and it's helped my mental health quite a bit.
Now the question is if I can keep that up in the new year as well. Kinda depends on what kinda projects I'll be going for, have thought
about taking a tad bit of drawing time and using that for more physical activites and maybe socializing a bit more, buuut who knows.

Thought this might be an interesting read. I've taken commissions from all kinds of folks for about 10 years now
and here's something of a little guide on how to raise your chances to get a slot and how to pitch your ideas more precisely,
since giving the artist a good image from the get go is very, very important imo~
The examples here are ones that I've been receiving from you guys, but I'll be hiding the names and all, just the pitch is important here.

Short but precise is what I always wanna see and you get a good image in your head just from reading those two lines (+refs)
Though it would have even been more crisp with facial expressions and the angle stated, could have been from the side or the front.
It may sound nitpicky, but it prevents me having to redo a WIP because important info may have slipped your mind.

Too vague. Unless the artist is really into the idea/character/setting, they will just move on to the next guy's idea that they can already picture.

Also too vague, plus always remember reading through what the artist offers carefully since I for example always mention "no or simple backgrounds".
Like, more often that not, I personally add backgrounds on my own volition, always check what other artists offer cause we all do our own thing.

This is a weird one cause, while reading this, I have like no idea what is even being talked about. "Something like that old pic" is extremely vague and
rings no bells for me at all, same with "like that char you made on patreon." I have no precise references here to work with. Since I cannot remotely picture
this one, I have also no idea where Schwarzpelz would fit into any of this, so... pitches like these are ususally a hard skip for me.

'Tis a special one. I remember taking this one, but even though it said "freedom for the exact composition" I ended up having to redraw the smaller character
like 3 or 4 times because I couldn't nail the exact position they had hoped for. Still thinking about that one from time to time x3
It's not.... thaaat big of a deal? But it made me remember that "you have a lot of freedom here" is generally to be taken with a grain of salt.
Just don't say it if it's not true is my point x3

This falls into the category of "Artist, here is like.. half the idea and half the characters.. decide on the other half on your own" x3 Hard pass

This is also a good example of an idea that could have been explained with less words, like I get what you want, but it all sounds quite a bit convoluted.

A completely fine way to present your idea for a change. Not too short, not too long, only the necessary refs, you immediately know what they wanna see.
That I never picked it just comes down to preference, but I'm sure 10/10 artists would be completely fine with how this was pitched.

just friendly suggestions and no matter how you pitch your idea, the artist will always be happy that there was someone out there interested in getting a picture.
And even if you repeatedly can't seem to get on the final list, even though you feel your messages are always proper and follow all the regulations, that's just...

Uh... bit of an emergency going on here.
Was just walking my dog and when we came back he noticed something in the pool, that's when I realized he found a tiny bat.
It's dry now, crawling on my hands and doing high pitched chirps now and again, but it doesn't fly at all. Anyone with bat experience
that can guide me through this a little bit? Wanna make sure the little guy is ok.

Also first step I did was what google told me. Put it "safe" in a box with some airholes in it and balled up toilet paper. Just no idea what to do now :(


*Edit: Thanks for your help so far. Found an animal protection service online and called them to get more information.
Apparently it needs to first calm down and warm up from having been in the cold pool. Actually feeling stupid for not having thought about that
myself. Gonna feed it with some insencts in the morning and will then try to see if it can fly or not.

*Edit2: The bat's now being taken care of in an animal protection center. It didn't want to eat any insects in the morning and I couldn't get it to drink,
so instead of waiting any longer I drove over there and left it in their care. To the comments about possible rabies, the bat neither scratched nor bit me
in any way and I don't have any open wounds on my hands either where any sort of virus could have entered. Also washed my hands a few times of course.

I'm back from my vacation~

Was a lot of fun to just relax for a few weeks, but now I'm really itching to draw stuff again. Also need to work
out more again cause I may have had more Pizza than usual xd Not sure what else to say as of now, but there'll be more
journals coming up with a few things I want to adress seperately. For now, woof will just doodle a lot of stuff~

So far this was my busiest year on FA yet, I kept up the monday-wednesday-friday-sunday schedule up for an entire 6 months
without missing a single upload, which I'm very very proud of and it was a lot of fun to doodle the tons of pictures, and while
it wasn't even exhausting until maybe a week or two ago, now's the time to relax a bit, get away from doodling and return
with a completely fresh mind and new motivation for the rest of the year in August.

I have not reeeaaally thought about that throughout the years, but now I do.

Obviously, my #1 worry is about people who join my patreon, stay the whole month and then jump off on the 30th/31st/1st of the month
when payments are collected. The problem is that patreon doesn't tell me who does this repeatedly, unless I make a list of my own to keep
track of these people. Which is also nonsensical since they could just create new accounts each month if they wanted.
Now I don't have a problem with someone joining, seeing that my stuff is not really to their liking and then leaving again, and patreon
actually does give me quite the list of people who leave the same day they joined. BUT how do you detect like an actual fraud?

And before anyone tells me, I know there's an option to charge patrons for each post individually (at least there was last time I checked), but
I wouldn't want to implement that at all.

Of course you can check out their profiles and see if they are supporting any artists at all, in that case there's no real reason for blocking anyone,
but there also these really sus accounts who jump off when payments are collected and then their profiles are completely empty as well.

Anyone got experience with that?

All your support has been nothing but amazing so far, like for how small my patreon is, you've been pledging way

Some stuff based on the opinion that whoever directed Digimon Adventure 2020 should probably not be a director.
I don't know who the director is or if they were evolved in the original seasons btw, just saying xd

- WHY CANT WE HAVE A SINGLE EPISODE WITHOUT TAICHI?

He was the main character before, of course, but back then we had 7 more main leads together with him, so you could
figure out for yourself who you liked the most. Now it's just Taichi and a couple side characters. And whenever it's now
their time in the spotlight, Taichi will just drag along and steal said spotlight in the end. Long story short, we could need
a Taichi-break.

- HOW ARE THESE GRAVITY DEFYING CHILDREN NOT CONSTANTLY DYING?

It's beyond me how they're still alive, I just don't understand. They "fight" on top of their partners going at Mach 7, not
holding on to anything, just... collecting Chackra at their feet to hold on or something no matter from which height they
occasionally drop or which mountain-pulverizing blast hits them face on, they barely have a couple scratches on them in
the end. It's so extreme that you can't even answer "it's just anime, just fantasy and not real". Something being fiction doesn't
mean you can BS your way around absolutely everything and this takes me out of the experience for there are literally no
stakes at all and no danger at any time, which eventually gets rid of any emotional tension they are trying to build up, thus
having those moments fall flat.

- SOME OF THESE PEOPLE / DIGIS HAVE A SPECIAL LEVEL OF CRINGE TO IT

Maybe I remember wrong, but I liked Hikari very much in the original series. But she's such a psycho here x3 You can't tell
me she behaves normal in any way, shape or form, it's like she suffers from some mental illness that is never explained, she
is just sooo eerie, and I can't tell if that's because she's written that way or because of bad facial animations or whatever,
but she's just such a creepy pile of cringe.
Unfortunately it's somewhat the same with Gatomon and very very much so with Lopmon, their monologing is sooo over
the top it's unbelievable.

- MISCELLANEOUS

Non-Existent pacing
Power of Friendship asspulls to solve every problem. I mean Fairy Tail final season levels of that.



Other than that, we got some nice animations every now and then plus that evolution sequences are usually really cool~
The one thing I'll really recommend them for is not using any CGI on the Digimon, pretty much no matter in which form,
like those are some detailled guys and everything's done without CGI. Feels like the show as a whole could have had 20
episodes less with proper pacing and leaving out some really useless stuff and given them the time and budget to animate
what's already decent a little bit better with more highlights that'll stick in people's heads instead of what feels like filler
episodes that are forgotten immediately.


Aaand that's it.
Still enjoying it for what it is~

Gonna map out the next two months for me and you a little.

June will most likely be a Patreon month filled with just a lot of little sketches.
Been drawing and also coloring a ton this month and getting a bit exhausted, so I'll just do little
doodles and finish some at some later point if I feel like it.

ALSO I'll clean up the gallery a bit again. Haven't done it in a while and I don't believe a lot will
disappear, but just giving a fair warning here. Save stuff you're especially fond of if you want.
And NO I'll not give out a warning for each picture that'll get deleted. The point of this is to have
them disappear, not to give them more attention, plus I will not justify every single pick and argue
about it.

In July we'll have a couple sketch commissions for the first two weeks.
And in the last two July weeks I'll take a short break from drawing. So far I've been really proud
of how things went this year. Have not been missing a single post every Monday-Wednesday-Friday-Sunday,
have been really consistently active in this half of the year, BUT I've definitely noticed a slight decline in
motivation compared to what it was in January, so I'll try to have a few good summer weeks to recharge
and then come back fresh in August.
During that time I will have scheduled a couple sketches for Patreon so nothing will come to a halt over
there at least~

Aaand that's it.

So today I tried out Biomutant~
Long story short I had to refund it and wanted to share some thoughts about it and maybe you have already
played it as well and made similar experiences, or different ones, who knows.

I was actually a bit shocked by the literal day 1 steam reviews, was at 48% positive reviews at the time I bought it, like 1.500
different reviews at that point. Haven't written my own, for neutral reviews still do not exist for some reason and it doesn't
reeeeaaally deserve a negative score.
People have been complaining about the narrator that constantly talks and indeed, there
are no ten seconds in which he does not speak, but he didn't bother me too much. I understand they are going for this world
in which newly mutated species have developed a new and somewhat still primitive language so the narrator guides you a bit and
that's fine, even the sometimes really childish dialogue is ok, you're playing a lot as the kid-version of your character in the beginning,
so that's alright I think.
The combat is... clunky? A bit 2-dimensional with not a lot of feedback to your attacks, you button-mash either shooting or swinging
your weapon and unlock a few combos along the way and that's kind of it.

But there are three things that really got in the way for me

- The amount of dialogue that gets in the way of just being able to play, even after you get out of the tutorial section, is just too much
and it's too slowly paced by design, since first you need to listen to the animal grunts, then the narrator translates, then grunts, then
translation, and so on, constantly, and that gets really repetitive, up to the point you think it's never gonna end, like, it'll be like this all
the way till the end of the game.
- The graphics are too underwhelming compared to anything I've seen in gameplay trailers, not just the cinematic trailers. While the
art style and overall direction, the aesthetics so to say, are beautiful, it feels like I'm playing at 480p for some reason. I'm just playing on
my small laptop, yet the game looks pixelated at the highest settings possible. It's like a beta-state that's waiting to get finished, which
for $60, it really should be.
- It does actually cost $60, which I cannot tell if it's worth or not given I've only played 2 hours, but the game gives me this fear that I
don't wanna play any longer to find out when everything hints at more disappointments later on. For $30 I would have kept it, most
certainly. Maybe there'll be a sale at some point in the future.


As a foot note, this game was done by indie developers so I'd like to cut them some slack, but it's still a full priced game that has to
compete with other AAA titles and I don't see it being in that range as of now.

I keep titling these journals quick rants xd But anyway, when something beloved to you turns garbage you kinda
wanna present your thoughts, so here I go. Spoilers ahead of course. This is mainly about EP6 I think.

We're currently in a kinda... boring random arc, school battle in a tournament-esque style, and I get the point is
to develop more of the Class A and B characters... but they don't actually do that and somehow... break the universe
a bit, correct me if I'm wrong. So here's what kinda ticks me off.

Komori shouldn't exist

Talking about the girl with the quirk to infinitely spawn mushrooms on and INSIDE everything. First of all, if you
have the power to just create freaking FOOD out of thin air, and we have seen the sheer masses in episode 6, you
would just instantly solve world hunger. In every superpower anime I kinda look for these powers that can break a...
fundamental struggle of a still somewhat realisticly built world, and creating food willy nilly always breaks the world
a bit for me and correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we've seen a power like that in the show before.

Also that power is way too OP if it can just infiltrate a person's LUNGS and let them suffocate like she tried to do with
Tokoyami. Also can she make them DISAPPEAR as well? Because if not, best bird boi is just straight up dead in the next
episode. And the stupid teacher of Class B was just all proud at the end of the battle, I would have expected him to at least
tell Komori "Hey... Don't do that you freaking psycho!"

Yaoyorozu has evolved... just backwards

Wasn't she always one of the smartest in class? Why couldn't she, like, create items to help against the opponent's quirks
at the start of the battle when the teams were chosen? Instead of standing there like "even the unexpected lies within my
expectations" and just lose anyway. Like where is the character development in that? Why were we shown a weaker version
of herself in that battle and not someone who overcomes their weakness instead?

Big Meaty Fist Girl makes no sense

Unless I've misunderstood something... her quirk enlargens body parts, so far only the fists as we've seen. That doesn't make
any sense. The fists would be so heavy that she couldn't even lift her arms anymore, like it's not a... muscle/strength boosting
quirk like One For All, just look her tiny arms, those can't move fists like that. And even if they did, they could not deform a freaking
tungsten shield. Tungsten on Mohs Scale of Hardness is second only to DIAMOND. I don't think a human fist, even an inflated one,
should scratch that, like her bones would just break on impact.
I know it's just anime and all... but come on, make it a little bit believable at least.

The comic sounds guy is the dumbest thing I've ever seen

They're trying to pass that off as an actual character. A man with a pot of ink as a body and a manga page as his face. His quirk
makes... things appear based off onomatopeia... how does that manifest as a quirk in the first place? I can absolutely not wrap
my head around that. It's kind of similar to Levi's letter magic from Fairy Tail, but that one at least was kinda fun and more creative,
especially in terms of appearance, but this one's just... so stupid.

-The twinkle guy is absolutely useless, and Tokoyami shouting his name actually had me burst into laughter.

-I actually really like Tokoyami, he got some actual cool development throught the series, too bad he lost to a girl with an OP
quirk trying to kill him.

I'm a little reluctant to call it a 200% patreon month, but I'm going for a little more than usual this month. Just wanna sketch a lot of little things,
practice a bit and not worry about fully finished pics too much. Maybe we're gonna have a few quick sketch commissions, we'll see~
I currently have this problem with Schwarzpelz where, while drawing is fun and all, I'd much rather get more pages done just to finally progress the
story some more. But I can't just not fully commit to the pages either cause that would make me feel bad, too. That wasn't as much of a problem in
earlier stages of the comic, a couple years ago, cause pages didn't use to be so full in general, but I guess there were other problems back then as well.

Ok, a couple things to talk about~

First of all, in March I will mostly try to concentrate on Schwarzpelz. Since the next chapter looks like it'll be shorter than
usual, it would be reeeeaaally awesome to complete it in a month to really get the story going, but if not than at least in
two months would be nice as well. Stuff on patreon will be like ususal, we're gonna have a 200% month at another time.

THEN, I feel like I've really been active a lot lately and extremely consistent with drawing and uploading pics. So far in 2021
I have not missed a post yet, which is every monday, wednesday, friday and sunday on patreon. I think that's pretty exactly
that sweet spot where it feels like I'm posting enough to feel good about it while not being overwhelmed by it. Like I'm
taking a break from commissions, but still feeling full of energy for personal doodles, especially Schwarzi this month. I've
actually been so active that there are still quite a lot of sketches and finished pics on my pc that I couldn't post yet x3 So
it's also nice to always have something lying around JUST in case I ever need a break. Doesn't sound like much but it really
takes this tiny bit of stress and worry out of my mind. Could even just take a day off now and again to do more sports and
not having to feel bad about missed drawing hours, that kinda stuff.

ALSO, now that the schedule is going well, positive feedback loop, all of that stuff, I'll also answer all comments regularily
again and try to make that part of the schedule as well. While I might feel more active, I do feel a little bit... ghost-like when
I don't interact a lot, but for the sake getting the schedule going I was just concentrating on drawing and not much else. I'm
also always getting really excited when, especially in Schwarzi pages, people are intrigued about the stories and come up with
theories about what's going on, so it'll be interesting to answer some of that again. But yeah, in all other pics as well, of course.

So as someone who really likes anime, good artwork and a good story, I've been slightly disappointed in a few of the
current releases and I'm just gonna quickly rant about why and explain why some of the arguments I've read online so
far really get on my nerves.

Attack On Titan - No Spoilers since I have not read the manga


The big thing I wanna talk about when it comes to AOT is their current use of CGI.
Now you have to absolutely understand just how much I hate, despise and loathe CGI. I cannot look at it, it actually
hurts my eyes. It just becomes immediately obvious when it's on screen and makes the characters and their movements
look so... goofy. It is so unbelievably out of place to me and just takes me out of the experience.
I understand why it is used, mostly to make animating a highly detailed character easier or to save some
budget or time since the studio is on a deadline and there are rare cases where I think it's absolutely fine. A good example
would be Inuyashiki if some of you have seen it. All the scenes in which the robotic parts in his body become visible are done
with CGI and I understand it completely, that would be a horrible task to animate in traditional 2D and I was completely fine with that.

But here is the deal with CGI. You can make it look as good as you can, but it will still not look as good as what it could have been, had
they used 2D animation. Which especially hurts on AOT because the animation so far throughout all seasons has been absolutely incredible
and people got used to the quality. In a bit of context, the first seasons have been animated by Studio Wit, while the current one is animated
by Mappa. Which is ALSO freaking weird because Mappa has been on a real roll lately with Jujutsu Kaisen, The God of Highschool, Kakegurui,
Ushio to Tora a while back, and so on. Just seeing Inuyashiki was also animated by them.

Now here's my biggest question. Why did the CGI even have to get used on really all the titans? I mean... they are muscular and all, especially
the Armored Titan, but to my eye they are not really any more detailled than the humans, especially with their 3D Maneuver Gear and aerial
movement that is just so complex sometimes. Like take the Jaw Titan or the Warhammer Titan. They are good, but simple designs. They do not
warrant the use of CGI to me. Even Eren's titan is not all that detailled, for me he would be, but not for professional artists I would assume.

And it just sours the experience for me is all I can really say. I would take stiff 2D animation over fluid CGI any time. Like have you seen Berserk?
Or Kengan Ashura? Neither have I. Also just a disclaimer, if you have seen them and liked them, that's alright, everyone can like what they want,
just my personal opinion here.


The Promised Neverland - Contains spoilers, this rant does not work without spoilers


So if you're still reading that means you also have read the manga.
I cannot even put into words how they are annihilating the story right now. And just FYI, I have not even read that many manga in my life, especially
not the big mainstream ones like Naruto, One Piece, etc... I do occasionally look at some pages that have really good artwork or just skim through the
pictures, but not much else. Only thing I've completely read so far are literally all of Junji Ito's works, The Promised Neverland, Toriko, Baki and Kengan
Ashura/Omega. Probably forgot some. (Coincidentally they also completely ruined Junji Ito's stuff <-< ... and some of Toriko, and Kengan... wait <-<;;; ... )

So... Neverland is getting an anime original season two at the moment, and by that they mean they are just going to completely cut the most beloved
characters, arcs and character development moments from the manga and try to cram the entire story into the next like 10 episodes or something.
Yugo? He gone, boy! Goldy Pond? Dried out, boy! From what I remember in the manga, they literally skipped ahead like 1 or 2 years in the story and...
that's just it. No Louis/Lewis, no epic showdown at the demon hunting grounds, like come on, that's the point in the story where you see the actual
resolve of these kids to survive despite sheer hopelesness against beings on a clearly higher level. And it's just gone.
Instead they completely jumped the gun on revealing Norman's return and it was sooo lukewarm, so lackluster, so undeserved. When I saw Norman
being alive in the manga and how he has become this.. near criminal mastermind, that was amazing. And now it's just "lol, I'm still here by the way, lmao."

And the argument I hate the most is "just be glad we got anything at all animated, and it's good so far."
I bet those are the people actually defending Pokemon Sword and Shield because "Hey at least we got some game at all." How can people be so okay
with just sucking up anything that gets fed to them without imagining at all what there could have been instead? And it really is not good so far at all,
it is atrocious, it cut everything manga readers loved and immediately jumped to Emma's current character arc about "Demons are just trying to live,
just like we humans." Without it being deserved in any way, shape or form. Like... you do not know what you are missing, and you are fine with that, and
that in the face of people with information actually telling you what you do not see.

COINCIDENTALLY THE CGI DEMONS IN NEVERLAND ALSO SUCK REALLY, REALLY BADLY. D8<

So as I was reading in their newest journal, FA will go for some improvements and implementations soon, one of them being the
ability to change your account name. So as someone with a garbage name like I have, I'm actually really looking forward to it, depending
on what the limitations will be. Probably you'll still not be able to have duplicate names on the site just because of the URL and some other stuff,
but I could finally get "Snowball" as my name in some form or another, which was just taken when I got here like 11 or 12 years ago x3

Are any if you having thoughts about changing your name at all?
