So as I was reading in their newest journal, FA will go for some improvements and implementations soon, one of them being the
ability to change your account name. So as someone with a garbage name like I have, I'm actually really looking forward to it, depending
on what the limitations will be. Probably you'll still not be able to have duplicate names on the site just because of the URL and some other stuff,
but I could finally get "Snowball" as my name in some form or another, which was just taken when I got here like 11 or 12 years ago x3

Are any if you having thoughts about changing your name at all?

In case you are curious what I pay attention to when choosing my slots and how to increase your chances, I've thought about
making a short list of reasons that have a chance to get you chosen or kicked for sure.

tl;dr below

1) Personal Preference - This is probably the most important point and hard to work around, but for the sake of my own
well-being and so that I can actually enjoy the pics you commission, I'll more often than not choose characters I personally
like or that I'm already familiar with over others. I am however trying to be the least picky I can.

2) Variety - I'm trying to make all the slots (usually 5) have a different theme. Meaning I'll never just choose 5 mawshot type
pics cause they're easy and not try anything else. Took mawshots as an example because that's like 70-80% of all ideas, so if
you are 1 of 20 people in that category, your chances are slim even if I do like your picture. If you go for anything else
macro/micro related your chances are bigger since you have a let's say 1:5 chance instead of a 1:20. Same with character
variety, lot of people always want their Lucarios drawn x3

3) Old and New Commissioners - In every commission row I want to give at least 2 or 3 people who've never gotten a pic from
me before the chance for a slot. Working with only.. "old customers" (I'm not a store, what the heck <-<) would be easier,
because their ideas and chars are almost always a pick for me, but I know there are a lot of people who've been waiting to
get a pic from me and not gotten the chance yet, so I wanna bring in new people as much as possible.

4) A short, precise comment - There have been times where people would tell me their idea in like 10-20 lines, and I dislike that
sooo much x3 that's why the word brief is the most highlighted word in my journals. If you manage to convey a crisp
image of what you like to see in as few words as possible, you have my attention. Preferrably enough info for me to just start
sketching right then and there to get a feel for whether your pic will work out for me or not.

5) Complete Information - Kinda ties in with #4. If you tell me "Will give you the characters/exact idea after I get chosen", I'll
most likely skip over you. I know some people may be shy to talk about their idea publicly, please just send me a PM then.

6) Reference Sheets - You don't even need a whole sheet, just one or two example pics are fine, but please have them ready
when you comment. Unfortunately not everyone has their characters... brought to life yet, sketched out well enough for me to
be able to work with. Which is not an insult to anyone's art out there, but I just wanna be faithful to most characters, which is
hard to do when I can't quite imagine what the original artist was going for.

7) My own OCs - I'm just reluctant to draw a few of them for commissions, sorry. Schwarzpelz is a no, Snowball in really rare cases.



And again, you may follow all of these perfectly, but #1 and #2 might still get you ruled out, sorry if that has happened to you
before. I know the last row was a bit unfair time-wise, considering it was not even open for 8 hours, but after like
30 comments for only 5 slots I had to close it.

Anyway, that's just some stuff I pay attention to that might help you get a slot next time around~


tl:dr

We had much more interested people this month than I thought, so I had to close the slots after only a few hours.
Picking 5 slots from like 25 people wasn't easy, either. Usually people stop trying for a slot after there are like 10 comments x3 But I'm not going
to add extra slots to include more people this time, would rather try to consistently open slots every month than overworking myself from the get go.

So you guys made it to a collective $500+pledge over on patreon, which is pretty nuts to be honest.
Ever since I started patreon a few years ago, the pledges where usually in the 200s , which, as a monthly
income, was absolutely insane and also helped establish myself at home, like I could actually show people
that what I'm doing is in fact paying out and after a while they just let me do my stuff and stopped asking
questions all the time.
The climb to 300 was a bit slow from there and never really constant, for like the last year it would pend
between 250 and 300, always dropping a bit at the end of the month. Highest point was probably when I did
those two.. 200% patreon months with a lot more pictures.
But then, last two months the pledges suddenly jumped from barely 300 to over 400 and now they're above 500!

So, thanks so much for all of your support, reaching 500 was always a big milestone for me, it helps me out so much,
especially with the upcoming winter months where I know that depression will creep up a bit more than usual. Now I
always have something hugely positive to remember, to give me comfort and especially confidence that I can keep
going with my pics, without too much financial struggle in the back of my head. Especially since rennovating the new
place has so many costs involved for the tiniest of details as well, it's amazing to have you guys' support always with me.

Just letting you know that, in case pictures come in late or not at all in the next days/weeks, that's because I'm only barely
able to concentrate on drawing right now, but I have a handful of pics finished already, so I'll at least try to post them accorindg to schedule.

Reason being, a tl;dr of sorts: The new place is still being renovated, parents came to "help" for that, they messed it up, so I had like three days
of extra work with it and it still looks kinda ugly, but I can't afford to put any more time into it or I'll mess up my drawing schedule again. Had
this... seriously messed up panic attack because things just wouldn't work out again no matter how I tried, started hyperventilating and just collapsed
onto the floor. Like imagine, you move out just to get away from them, and then they fucking hunt you down just to mess up your new place, it sometimes
feels like I'm freaking cursed or something.

Anyway, I'm fine now, or at least trying to recover as much as I can. Like... I'm just happy I'm even posting pics here and on patreon right now. Had this same
scenario happened a year ago I would have probably stagnated so much that I would have gone completely quiet for a few weeks. So I think I'm at least
learning to recover from bs like this faster.

The new place is not fully finished yet, but I do have all of what's important for me to live here and especially draw in peace.
To be honest I've already doodled quite a lot in the last few days again and was finally able to catch up with posts on patreon again. Only
the first 2 nights here have been kinda... sleepless, but it more and more feels like finally getting an own life that is worth living instead of
just being a small part in the lives of everyone else around me, if that makes any sense...

So here are some plans for my future on this site and what you can expect from now on if I can make it happen.

- I wanna be able to post stuff, whether it's finished work or just random doodles, on a consistent basis, 4 times a week to be precise.
Monday+Wednesday+Friday I'll have something for FA and then Sunday will be the weekly pic for patreon. Which is honestly not that much
since the Monday posts are just going to be the re-uploads from the oldest pics on patreon.

- I wanna interact with people a whole lot more than before, this time for real. Will consistently reply to comments again and also comment
on much more pictures myself + give people a lot more faves. As I used to say, I'm usually more confident and not as shy when it comes to
talking in groups as opposed to talking 1on1, soooo got no excuse not to make some comments from time to time. I was also thinking about
making a discord group, or at least joining some for now. Just wanna try to talk with people a lot more again since I've felt for a while now that
I'm losing the connection to the community a bit or... a lot.

- I wanna try to post Schwarzpelz pages as regularily as possible, preferrably every 4-5 days at the very least. It's not as fast as I'd like in order
to make progress with the story, but given that there'll be a lot of pics and sketches in between as well, it shouldn't feel that terribly long either.
Saying I wanna "finish" Schwarzpelz is still a bit of a stretch, even though I have what I need to sketch out the rest of the story. But I think it's important
to have that goal visible somewhere in the distance, as I'm already thinking of other, slightly shorter comics. Especially one-shots really interest me right
now, just a small story or concept without super deep story or tons of people to design xd

- Oh right, I also want to have commissions open every single month from now on, amount depending on how well I feel or how much other stuff
I've got left to do, but expect some slots every single month. The price for my usual manga-style pics will probably go up to 70$, especially
since I have a lot more things to pay for with my own money now, but I'll expand the offers a bit with 40$ quick sketches! Lots of people have been
asking if there are cheaper options for pictures, so I'll try those out, starting next month already.


That's pretty much it for now. Kind of a lot of stuff, if I reread it like that... but now I can actually do it all without having to worry too much about rl
people getting in the way of it.

Sooo things moved a bit faster than expected and I, somewhat, already moved into my own appartment,
at least I've already spent the first night here last night. Now I've got my desk and the PC down here as
well and can technically start drawing again, hopefully more in peace and more consistent than before.

To be honest the first night was really weird. Slept for like 5 hours, but that was it. Having moved out of
my old room got to me a bit more than I expected, plus the new place looks still quite empty, even after
having moved most of the important things already, sooo felt kinda spooky and really quiet. Trying to get
used to the new feeling though.

I'm trying to get back to drawing right now, but since moving isn't fully over yet I'll still be a bit slow.
Once October starts I'll fully go in on drawing again, means monthly commissions, regular Schwarzpelz
pages and patreon sketches as well. Been planning to post 4 pics a week for a while now, 3 over here
and the 4th on patreon each sunday, so hopefully I can finally get into that rhythm.

This is kind of a big deal, even though I won't even be moving houses, just down to the 1st floor of the same house,
but it means I'll finally be able to live on my own a lot more than before. Our grandmother died two years ago and now
that the dust has settled a little, we decided to clean up her old floor and completely overhaul it so I can move in. Unfortunately
there is a loooot of stuff left to get rid of, so moving down will still take a few months probably, but then I can finally start
living at my own pace so to say. My drawing schedules get constantly disrupted by all the people around, so getting an own
floor will be a huge step towards more consistent drawing times without constant interruptions.
Really hoping I can already move this year, the earlier the better. Will keep you updated I guess xd

Until then I'll try my best to still draw of course, but truth be told I'm running a little low on energy. But don't worry, will
try to be as consistent as possible. All that really means is that commissions for example will not open anymore until
the new home is ready. BUT when the time has come, you better watch out! Woof will throw a lot of doodles at you~

Sooo the 2 months where I just put all my effort into sketching for patreon have come to an end. It even fell off a little towards the end xd Probably overworked myself a little bit, but I'm very happy with the amount and quality of most of the pics and I finally got the chance to doodle more characters I usually wouldn't have had time to doodle. Uhh.. reasoning behind this. I think I'm now at the right spot where I've figured out the big overarching

STILL, I of course need a certain financial support to get through the days and last month I lost like 80$ worth of pledges that
were declined for some reason, so I'd like to just get a little boost hopefully and get more people interested in the sketches
over there. Having this... patreon-pillow so to say, a certain amount of money every month, is helping me a lot to get over my
anxiety and makes drawing commissions a lot less stressful, since the thought of "I already have some amount of money for
this month" is very stress relieving, like... in case commissions don't go well or not a lot of people are interested in them.

Not gonna lie here, the Corona situation is not affecting me a whole lot yet. Since I usually don't go out, unless it's with the dog,
I'm not really in any danger or endangering others, plus our store still has a good amount of food. Have not really seen anyone
panic-buying yet, though the load on the shelves is definitely smaller than usual. There's also no rule in Germany yet that forbids
you to go outside, you are just not allowed to meet up in pairs of more than 2 people at a time, unless it's family.

for proper hygiene, being aware of what you touch and what others may have touched before you. And of course in stores, buy as
much as you NEED, not as much as you CAN.

The last row went really well, soooo let's try again this month. Thought about taking 10 slots, but I'd

Happy New Year first of all, hope you guys spent the holidays well.
Been a while since I said anything here, but being on my own gave me a lot of time to think about all the personal issues again, sooo just gonna share a couple thoughts here.

First, I'm going into the new year with an actual schedule/plan all the way from January to December with goals for each month, instead of just... "forcing drawing
hours" as much as I can so that the number at the end of each month will be satisfyingly big, which, even though it feels good in the moment, just ends up in burn-outs after a while.
I want to draw in a way that makes me realize again that I started drawing because it was fun and not because I had to, and that drawing in your own style is ok even if it
doesn't look as good or professional as the style of other artists, it's all about what you yourself feel comfortable with. So, trying to be less paranoid about that stuff in the future.
Just in general I'd like to be less... panicky when it comes to drawing. Like, so often when I think about the new Schwarzpelz chapter I get very panicky about not only its contents, but
also the detail and work put into each page because I usually wanna make each panel memorable and as good as I can. Often one single panel that doesn't turn out like I imagined
can sour the experience of the whole page, and since I'm quite slow still, every page is important to me as this "one big thing every couple days", so I don't wanna mess them up.
So I want to try to be less paranoid about quality, cut some detail here and there and just develop the story.


Second, I've actually finally found a proper 2D-Animation program called OpenToonz, so finally I can try out tiny little animations. Have already watched tutorials for help
and started a tiny sketch animation myself and rendered it to see if it works, and it actually worked, sooo woof is actually excited to throw out some animations now and again.
They feel greatly different from usual drawing, which is actually a good thing since it makes for a different art-experience, so I hope the fatigue won't collect as easily in the future.
Will actually upload the first one soon after finishing it a bit more, hopefully it's gonna be... saved in the right format to be uploadable here, still am a bit unexperienced about that.


Third, I wanna get back into contact with people again, which I've said before, but still couldn't do it until now. Gonna open up Discord again, do more streams hopefully and
not take them too seriously. Streams have often been scary to me because I'm usually never watched while drawing, so it felt like I was pressured to "deliver" as an artist, show
professional sketching or... be fast and precise with every line, stuff like that. I wanna try seeing streaming as just hanging out and having fun with characters, ideas and of
course the people showing up, instead of me having to act professional as an artist.


Uhhh that's all I can think of for now. So, expect pics again, here and on patreon aaaand hope that nothing gets in the way for now.

So... had a lot of time to think about stuff in the last days, so I'll try to put those
thoughts into words.

First, since that's so weird to me, for some reason my last journal was removed forcefully
and I got an automatically generated note from FA, saying a lot of things but not explaining
at all why it was removed. Apparently FA doesn't want people talking about these kinda topics
on their site, so they went ahead and removed the journal of a guy trying express some of the
deepest despair he's ever experienced in his life, so, thanks for that I guess, will never try to
talk about my feelings again, that'll probably be more convenient for you.
See, I don't wanna sound so stupidly sarcastic, but damn if it's not the f*ing truth. At least
give me some form of explanation from a human being and not an auto mail.

Speaking about the journal, I guess I'll also have to sarcastically thank people for honoring
my wish not to receive comments and spamming my shouts instead. I even tried to disable
shouts before posting, but that's not an option unfortunately.
At this time I'm 100% sure I've developed some sort of split personality issue, because one
side of me wants to at least appreciate that people tried to express their sentiment and support
and thank you honestly, but another side of me just knows whatever I read did not even reach
me at all, it's all words from people I've never even seen in person in my life, all so far away from me
that I'll probably never meet them in all my life, so... it all sounds so distant and unreal that I
cannot evaluate it properly.
For some reason there were also a couple troll comments in there, some kids having fun laughing
about the situation, sooo welcome to the block list.

Also, the issue with the tablet not working anymore has been resolved after a few days, so
drawing, in theory, works again.




So... that's the stuff regarding the last journal.




Now I wanna talk about the future of this account and me.

I f*ing want to make progress. Just any. Sort. Of progress. Every day I'm not getting anything
done feels like 24 dead hours, a day that might as well not have existed. That's mostly about
two things right now, my Schwarzpelz comic and Patreon. So I wanna do something, even
if it's only temporary or until I get out of this depression phase again. I'm going to have a
submission ready every single day, if not here on FA then over on Patreon. I wanna be so much
more active, I have to catch up on all those days I wasted in the hospital or that I wasn't able
to take out the tablet cause it would give me panic attacks.
So from now on, every day I'm gonna post something, even if it's just WIPs or practice sketches,
cause I still have so many tutorials and stuff to learn from as well, I'll get back to the stopwatch
and actually stop my drawing time every day to get a feeling for how much I'm doing every day.
And... I just gotta hope for nothing else getting into the way again. There can't be that much
happening to me anymore to prevent me from drawing, bad luck has got to stop at some point.

So... Can't think of anything else right now.

Wanted to write different journals for these topics, but I wanna just address everything at once.

First I've been to the hospital again due to a weird kind of headache I've experienced once when
I was younger, like... 14 or 15. Basicially there were these intervals where it suddenly felt like my
head was about to explode from some extreme pressure, the feeling stayed for a couple seconds,
completely freezing me in place since every movement felt like it added to the pressure. When the
intervals came quicker I decided to go the hospital. They said it might be a case of my body not
being able to let go of water properly and it collecting in the head, basically squeezing the brain, but as always they're not 100% sure. It's fine again now, though.


Of course this incident ruined my work schedule again, like I lost all rhythm and motivation, especially
since they told me to not overwork myself in the next days/weeks, both physically and mentally and
not being able to do anything at all, not getting anything done, triggered panic attacks and anxiousness
again. I just really, really wanna get stuff done and it's all the more important because I'm such a
slow artist anyway, like when there's a pic or panel that I really like I'll spend way too much time on it instead of progressing to the next one. But anyway, it feels like I can get back into a proper drawing
rhythm now.

Which brings me to Schwarzpelz and Pokeventure, especially the latter. I never wanted to
officially announce that I won't continue Pokeventure anymore because I always hoped I could
get back to it after becoming more stable financially and becoming faster as an artist, so that
every now and then a page could be squeezed between two other pics, but it's not working out.
Whenever I do have spare time I find myself spending it on anything else but Pokeventure, mostly
on more Schwarzpelz, which is just much more important to me personally. So I just have to stop,
there'll be no real progress again, I don't even remember whatever I planned for the story anymore. So yes, Pokeventure is officially over.

All in all, the last weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster again with a lot of ups and downs, but I'm
generally in a better state than before. One thing I've noticed is that whenever I'm feeling really
down, I can get out of that state a bit faster and pick up work again easier as opposed to going silent
for weeks and months like I once used to do. Was even able to finish the commission row, even though
thered were some major disruptions that caused a long delay, but it worked out in the end.

The one thing though that hasn't been 100% consistent is my work for patreon, though it's been a
lot better recently than it has been in some phases. Which is why I'll use this month to boost my
productivity over there a little more instead of opening commissions. In general I wanna just sketch
more random stuff I feel like drawing, not stuff I strictly "have" to draw.

Another point on my list is that I wanna start replying to comments again, which I've been neglecting
for quite some months now. In general it's been harder to talk to people 1on1 lately, I'm rarely even
online on discord anymore since I felt I had to be on my own a bit more to figure things out in peace
and silence.
Me not replying to comments anymore had like 2 major reasons though. First I used to gather all the
comments and notes for a week and then answer everything at once each monday, which was sometimes
very overwhelming and disrupted my drawing rhythm, so after a while comments were nothing to look
forward to anymore. I also got really annoyed that whenever I left a comment anywhere it was just
ignored in 99% of all cases, and the mentallity of "well, fuck you, too." kicked in and I just wanted to
stop answering stuff as well.
Anyway, now instead of answering every monday I'll just reply to comments with every new picture,
meaning like posting picture A, then picture B on the next day and replying to picture A at the same time,
and so on. Because not answering at all really sucks, it kinda defeats the whole purpose of posting the
pics in the first place.


Anyway, that's pretty much all I can think of for now.

Just found out there's now a way to support artists and be supported
yourself via FurAffinity directly, which is a really neat addition to the site
I think.
When I set up my patreon page a few... years ago at this point, I remember
it was super confusing and I thought there are probably a lot of people who
wouldn't ever want to go through setting up an account to support others
since it can be a huge hassle. So just being able to BAM send a quick buck
to someone, especially without being bound to do it monthly unless you cancel,
seems like a really easy, uncomplicated way that way more people could
probably get behind.
I also think it's really cool that all of the money goes directly to the artists,
paypal fees being the only exception of course. Soo I'm just going to enable
them for now, see how it goes and see who else has them enabled as well.
This is not gonna cut into the usual work for patreon of course, stuff over
there will all stay the same.
