As a kid, I drew a lot of horses. I love them. I've never had the experience of taking care of one, taking riding lessons, or owning one. But I've always loved them and read as much as I could about them, from care and anatomy and color genetics to myths and fiction and fantasy. So I've just come full circle, lol.

I won't stop drawing furries, but my gallery will be filling up with more equine art. If I'm gonna draw, it's gonna be subjects I like 💕

Sooo I'll be at BLFC this year, and I'll have some pieces up for sale in the art gallery. They're the watercolors I've been uploading here the last couple months. I have a few more in the works, so keep an eye out for those!

I know it's still August, but I'm already pretty pumped for Halloween stuff. More Halloween themed YCH's will be posted in the coming weeks, ranging from, I dunno, $5-$10, so pretty affordable for plenty of people.

Sometimes I regret choosing to be an office drone but considering how little interest people have in my stupid mediocre art I guess that was ultimately the best choice. Maybe? At least as far as (kind of) reliable income goes.

So, I decided to challenge myself with 31 spooky (general fall and/or Halloween related) sketches over on my art Twitter sagebrushstuff.

I ended up getting into a nifty groove of drawing chibi characters in various Halloween costumes.

Currently, there are EIGHTEEN SLOTS AVAILABLE for these chibi trick-or-treat sketches!

How to get a sketch:

1. Follow sagebrushstuff on Twitter
2. Throw me a message or DM there with a reference and your costume preference. "Surprise me" is a valid answer, but your chances of getting something generic are pretty high, like pirate, fairy, etc. (Note: I will not draw indigenous peoples' clothing or blatantly kink/fetish related wear as Halloween costumes; I am going for cute.)
3. That's it!

I plan on doing some badges to go along with BLFC's theme. I don't have samples yet, but they will be my "hungry monsters" style with the addition of little buildings and stuff for the rampaging kaiju effect. I had a great time at BLFC though maybe next time I'll have more stamina for fursuiting and will be kinder to my stomach. Hung out with some cool people, bought some neat stuff, saw lots of neat things and fursuits! Though I do wish I knew more fursuiters so we could hang out and have some cute interactions etc. I will certainly make "be more social, make more friends" a goal once I am done with school and can use that free time for socializing and getting back into art and whatnot. But anyway yeah, BLFC! Fun! It was also cool seeing my art hanging up at the Rabbit Valley table. :D

So yes I am still alive.

My husband and I went to our first furry convention ever: BLFC. It was awesometastic!

We plan on going again next year, and this time staying longer. I think I might also bring extra hula hoops to share (maybe with glow in the dark tape), since several people wanted to try it out during the dancing. Really loved getting to chat with some fellow hoopers!

And unexpectedly enough, I picked up a couple badge commissions. I haven't posted the badges I did, but a few months ago I made some little monster badges for some of my friends and a couple people really liked them. I am quite pleased, like, that weird "I am suddenly bashfully happy that people like my art" feeling. ^^

So anyway yeah oh and also I registered on weasyl because I guess everyone else is doing that too now? Same name, Sagebrush, but nothing's there yet.

And tumblr addicts can follow sagebrushstuff but it's not an art blog.
