Hey everyone! This is a game for artists! It's called Hellbent! It's about war in the underworld!
Take note that this is going to be an alpha test to see if the system is actually fun. If you can think of a simple way to make it more fun let me know.
Because this is an alpha test, all drawings should be quick, sloppy and sketched out. Don't worry about it.

•be sure you understand the rules beforehand! Ask if I'm not clear about anything. I just made this game so it might need some polishing.
•By joining you get 3 generic demon grunts and a captain. The captain can look however you want (even your fursona!) There's also a default captain in case you just want something simple to draw.

The grunts all look pretty much the same. If you bought any enlistables from me previously you can use those as well! They'll actually give you bonuses!
•You will be assigned to one army or the other. At this point both armies are placeholders fighting over who has better hats or something. Don't worry about it.
How to play
The order of play is such-
1. The phase begins when the Game Master (me) announces when the deadline is. Everyone gets 3 points when they start.
2. You decide an ACTION that you want to perform, and PM the Game Master (me) with what you want to accomplish.
3. The GM says "ok. you can do that."
4. You make a piece of art of your troops performing this action. (The art can be anything from a picture, to a comic, to an radio performance, to even a story (only if its funny enough though))
Be sure to finish this and post it on the board by the deadline, or it didn't happen.
5. The GM posts the phase wrap-up, showing the changes to the map, etc.
Followup pictures may now be posted for bonus points if the GM says so.
Every player who participated is awarded 3 points regardless!
•••••••BASIC ACTIONS
-Capturing unclaimed territory
This is the main staple of the game. To capture a territory, select a space adjacent to one of your armies territories. Each space has a reference number and cost-rating. Refer to the map guide for more information about the specific space you are capturing, so you have an idea of what to draw.
Once captured, the space's cost-rating will go up!
-no followup
-Capturing claimed territory
If you want to capture a territory already owned by the other army, the same rules apply, only your picture should probably include you dealing with the enemy troops camped there. Every claimed territory has a few grunt troops wandering around aimlessly.

-Capturing spaces that enemy players are on
-I.E. ATTACKING.
when two players inevitably wind up adjacent to eachother they will most likely end up clashing.
To attack another player PM the gamemaster with;
1. which space you are attacking
2. How many extra points and GP you are willing to spend along with the current cost of the space. 1GP = 3 Points
Then draw a picture of your guys fighting with the opponent!
Whichever side spent the most wins the combat, but you wont find out until the Phase Wrap-up. After You know who won you can draw a followup picture of your squad victorious (or vice versa) for a bonus 2 points! The winner might get some of the loser's GP as well so watch out!
-teaming up
If two friendly players try capturing the same space the cost is split between them. You can draw your squads meeting in a followup picture for bonus points!
-Capturing multiple spaces
You are now allowed to capture as many spaces as you can afford. Keep in mind that you still have to draw your troops capturing and dealing with each territory you find.
Also note that capturing unclaimed territory, and claiming captured territory, are separate types of actions, so you cant do both in one turn, that would be overkill!

You don't always have to fight or march! Heres some other worthwhile things you can do!
-Build defenses
Pay the overall cost rating of a territory your army owns to raise it's cost rating by 1! Be sure to draw how your characters are making this area more resistant to attack.
-R&R
Select a friendly owned territory to take some much needed ME time. Gain 2 points for drawing your troops relaxing, or training or whatever they want!
-R&D
Need an item to help you across certain parts of the map? Maybe you want to upgrade your wooden clubs? Make it yourself! Cost is variable depending on how useful the item is. GM will let you know if you can afford it. These items will most likely break by the end of the battle.
Be sure to draw your dudes working with dangerous and heavy materials.
-Collect allowance
Go back to your HQ to beg for and collect 1GP. (GP stands for Gold Pile, or pile of gold, in case you were probably wondering) Be sure to draw your guys looking pitiful!
OTHER THINGS
If you can think of a neat other action to perform, by all means ask if you can do it!

i had a dream last night.
General | Posted 15 years agolast night i dreamed that i was at a craft store that sold exotic pets and for some reason there was an aquarium-style petting-zoo full of chihuahuas and wiggly crayfish-lobster-trilobite critters and I said to myself "THAT'S NOT RIGHT CHIHUAHUAS WILL EAT ANYTHING" so for some reason I was absolutely determined to pick up the wriggling freaky crustaceans WITH MY BARE HANDS and save their wriggling freaky little lives by putting them in other tanks, but I had to be sure it was the freshwater tanks because there was a saltwater one with a shark in it, unfortunately after the deed had been done I immediately noticed that the chihuahua tank was truly the safest and most reasonable place for them because the deeper tanks I had tossed them into were full of creatures trying to kill them, especially this squid. So for an extended period of time I have my arm in this tank trying desperately to grab the nasty little bugger as the squid does this kind of tentacle spear attack, hitting my arm instead of the creature it's aiming for and generally threatening to reduce me to a left-handed person. Then after that I realized somehow one of the crustaceans got in the shark tank, but I was far too busy trying to pick up the millions of beads I'd scattered on the floor. (it was a craft store remember)
