Sooooo basically on Wednesday I cut the tippy tip of my finger off :D and it was all downhill from there
luckily it was at work so workers comp took care of me, but it's been a FUN TIME LET ME TELL YOU.

Note to self, when you're cutting with an exacto knife, know where your thumb is.
Anyway, I can still draw as it's my non-dom hand, but everything has been kind painful and awful. Getting better though, and I'll grow skin back and have a scar and a weird little dimple in my thumb. Whatcha gonna do?
The grossest part is that my coworker found the 'piece' later and had to throw it away :I Dang. could have made some me-leather.

On another note, I miss freelancing a lot. Working 40 hrs a week leaves me crabby and grumpy and tired. Go figure. I've been drawing in my sketchbook a lot but otherwise, not too much else. The single commission I took has taken me ages to complete because I only work on it maybe 30 minutes a day, and sometimes I'm too tired to do even that much. Weekends are terrifically precious...
Next weekend I'm going up to see my family in TN because we get both monday and tuesday off for the holiday. Thank god. It wont be much rest, but I look forward to it nonetheless! I miss my folks. :(

Otherwise, poshfox and I will be moving next month into a bigger apartment and I'll have more of an office space. Once this internship is over and school starts, I'll have way more time to draw!

Writing a small update to explain why I'm awol, yet again. I got a fulltime paid internship for the summer, rather quickly and unexpectedly. My professor prodded me to email them my work and literally the day after classes ended I did an interview and got the position. I'm working at a toy company in the mock-up department, so a lot of what I do is cutting and constructing packaging and boxes. Not very glamorous work, but it's super educational and keeping me on my toes~ This is my second week but it already feels like it's been a month...
So, as said, it's full time so... I don't have a LOT of time to do commissions or art for myself. I'm trying to do what I can with the time I have, but... apologies if I'm dead tired and just kind of... gone.
I'm doing my best to maintain my patreon, but I honestly don't know if I can keep it going if I don't have time to work on comic pages or anything like that. I don't even seem to have time to upload things. It's cray cray!

So, as I wrap up my first year at SCAD I reflect on just... how much has happened lately. it feels insane the amount of progress in my goals and aspirations has been achieved in this short time. I've lived on my own in the big city successfully, and though there were some mishaps and stresses and worries, everything turned out okay~
I've learned a lot in school that I apply to what I do. I landed my first big gig. I took in a stray kitten and now he's a wonderful big turd and I love him <3 My boyfriend finally moved in with me and we're exploring what that means for us. We've applied to an apartment to move in the next few months that will have room for an office space. I have a summer internship at a toy company that involves mock-ups and drawing and doing what I've dreamed; arting for a living.
Of course there's plenty of stress that comes with that... A lot of unknowns, a lot of fear of messing up... But I feel mostly confident.
I won't say that the last few months have been easy, but they've been formative.
I know I'm not very active here, but I'm doing my best to balance different things and get busy with life.

I'm sorry I've been gone guys! I've been busting my ass on not only school but an intense professional project. I can't tell you what it is, but I can say it's a nine page comic and it was finished in two weeks. I'm dead tired! But at the same time, I feel like I'm just buzzing from the pleasure of having something done and completed in so little time. It was a hell of a gig, but I'm just about finished with it. c:

So I recently found this site: https://www.omgyes.com/ through http://www.ohjoysextoy.com/ and lemme tell you, it's sparked some thinking.

The (cishet) porno industry has a very particular view on female orgasm. If it DOES happen during a porno, it's during penetration and typically only because of penetration. The female orgasm is something that isn't discussed, and as said... if it does come up in a porno, it's a direct result of the man's particular prowess. Like getting a woman to orgasm must be a gold star on his own abilities and has nothing to do with the couple working together.
And women do it too. I remember thinking for ages that there was something wrong with me for not being able to easily orgasm when with a partner. If I wasn't blaming it on my own inadequacy, I was blaming it indirectly on my partner for not being 'good enough'. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.
When I was younger I thought that sex was something that would just... blow my mind. That it'd be unbelievably intimate and intense and-- and what movies showed. What porn shows. Not what it actually is... which is typically tedious, giggly, somewhat awkward, cramped legs and uncomfortable.

I don't think it ever occurred to me, truly, to wonder how other women handle this. The women I'd been with had either been blessed with hypersensitivity or weren't communicating with me fully, because they never expressed difficulty the way that I did. I felt lost in it, confused that I could be fine if I was alone but seize up and take hours with a partner.
It never occurred to me to wonder if it's just the way that my body works. And that it's fine. And that literally every woman out there has their own quirks and ways of doing things.
I'm particular, in the way that some people are picky eaters. Some women aren't, and are delighted by multiple things. And you know what? If picky eaters are ok, then I'm ok. Doing what you like is ok.

I'd like to see more pornos that are realistic... more furry adult art and comics that handle sex in a way that removes the stigma and taboo of female orgasm, or communication. Consent and communication are fucking hot!
I guess, at the end of the day, I just want to tell other women that it's ok. You're not broken if you can't orgasm, or if pornos have made you believe that the only thing that can bring you orgasm is prince charming's life changing dick. It's all a scam... and the best way to know yourself and your body is to give yourself permission to be particular. It doesn't make you difficult, it just makes you... you.

And dudes? I know FA is a sausage fest, and a rather gay one at that, but if you've made it this far I just want to say... Acknowledge that this stigma is something women have to deal with, and just be supportive.

Hey y'all, just dropping a couple reminders for people interested in commissioning me c: These are things that I may not have done a good job at stating previously, so I take some responsibility for that. In the meantime, I appreciate your understanding of the way I work.

1. I don't tend to do commission work during my 'off' time. I do most of my work during my dayjob, so once I'm home I'm typically done for the day or working on personal/homework stuff. I am a full time student and also work on my own things. Commissions are high on my priority list, but I also schedule down time where I can relax a bit. Don't worry, just because I didn't stream my work on your piece doesn't mean I didn't work on it. If you're concerned or curious about progress/ETA, note me!

2. On a similar note, you can message me for progress shots within reason. Please understand that some work such as paintings are completed with very few WIP stops, as they're projects I enjoy just sitting down and working on to completion. If you need confirmation on details, let me know before I even start so I know to take it into consideration and check with you to see if I did it right. I don't stop and send WIPS on smaller projects or paintings so that I don't delay the project, particularly if it's not necessary, so let me know in the beginning if you're concerned about details. I'm not a good mind reader!

3. If I say I'm not comfortable drawing something, please don't push it. This hasn't happened lately, but it's one of the fastest ways to get me to blacklist you from purchasing future commissions. If I say I won't draw your commission because of X, either drop X completely, suggest a new idea, or back out of the slot. I won't draw things that make me uncomfortable no matter how much someone tries to justify it.

4. I try to be accommodating to commissioner's deadlines, payment needs,(split payments, payment plans) lack of character references, etc... but I ask that as a commissioner, you observe the above-mentioned issues. Commissions are a two-way street where money is traded for goods/services. Please treat me with respect, and I'll do the same to you!

Heeeey everyone! I'm slowly but surely getting back on track after FWA. It was an interesting con with as many ups as downs, but ultimately it was a good time! I did artist alley for Saturday, managing to pay off con expenses, so I promptly turned around and spent a ton at the dealer room. /mildshame/

It was awesome hanging out with all my friends, though I wish I hadn't been so worn out and sickly and dumb at some points, but I'm picking myself up and continuing to roll. The show must go on!

This quarter is beating me up a little bit, so to all my commissioners, I thank you for your patience. It means a ton.

So I live in Atlanta
and a portion of i-85 fucking caught on fire and collapsed last week.
and it's made my commute go from 15 minutes to an hour of stressful backtracking through people's fucking one-street neighborhoods every fucking day to get to school. I'd do the bus/train but I'm really nervous because my job doesn't let out until 8pm. I don't wanna be walking home from the stop in pitch black darkness.

Hey y'all!
So yeah, I'm finally going to try to come off of Lexapro because I suspect it's what is making it really hard to keep weight off, and I'd like to see if I need it still. I got my doc to approve and help me taper off with lower dosages, so I'm not being stupid and going cold turkey. It still kind of feels like I can't sit still.

This week is spring break for me, until I start my next two classes for the Spring quarter. I managed to get A's on my past classes, so yay! And my projects for next quarter are lined up and ready to go. This week is mostly catching up on comic work, doing con preparations and making dat money.

Speaking of, I'll be at FWA! I'll alert y'all when I know for certain that I'll get the time off.
