Anthrocon 2023
Posted 2 years agoToday marks the end of Anthrocon 2023, and I must say, it has been quite a rollercoaster of emotions. This year's event has brought both success and disappointment, leaving me with a mixed bag of feelings. I'll jot down my thoughts and experiences here to reflect on this unique convention.
First and foremost, the highlight of Anthrocon 2023 has undoubtedly been my participation in the Art Show and the Artist Alley. It's been the most successful year for me in terms of showcasing my artwork and connecting with potential buyers. Seeing my pieces appreciated and having them find new homes brought a sense of fulfillment and validation to my artistic endeavors. It's moments like these that remind me why I love being a part of the convention scene.
However, despite the triumphs in the Art Show and Artist Alley, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of loneliness and isolation throughout the event. Anthrocon 2023, for some reason, seemed to lack the usual camaraderie and social interactions that I've come to cherish in past years. Perhaps it was the unfamiliar setup or the absence of the common area of the Zoo, which used to serve as a hub for spontaneous conversations and chance encounters. Whatever the reason, it left me longing for those connections with fellow furries and art enthusiasts that I've had in the past.
It's disheartening to realize that in certain circles, popularity on social media or having an elaborate fursuit seems to dictate the attention one receives. It feels as if those without a significant following or an impressive suit are overlooked and dismissed. This shift in dynamics has left me questioning the authenticity of some interactions within the fandom. I believe the true spirit of Anthrocon lies in celebrating our shared passion and fostering genuine connections, regardless of online metrics or physical appearances.
As I reflect on this experience, I'm determined to make a change in the coming year. I want to focus on forging new connections and finding alternative ways to engage with the community. Perhaps exploring the dealer's area could provide a fresh avenue for interaction, where the emphasis is more on shared interests and mutual appreciation rather than external factors.
Anthrocon has been a cherished event for me over the years, and I refuse to let one disappointing edition define my outlook. I will use this as a catalyst for personal growth, actively seeking out like-minded individuals, and creating meaningful connections beyond superficial metrics. I hope that next year's event will bring back the sense of community and inclusivity that has been a hallmark of Anthrocon for so long.
Until then, I will continue honing my craft, expanding my network, and maintaining an open mind. The fandom is vast and diverse, and I am confident that by exploring different avenues and engaging with fellow enthusiasts, I will find my place and rediscover the joy of genuine connections in the convention scene.
Here's to a year of growth, new adventures, and a renewed sense of community within the furry fandom.

Long OVER DUE Status Update!
Posted 2 years agoHello everyone!
It’s been sometime since I posted a Journal on this account. 2020 was the last time I posted and that I have been all over the place doing a lot of conventions outside of the Furry and Brony fandom. My goal is to get out of my comfort zone and try new fandoms and expand my skills. Some good events, some bad, but I wouldn’t know unless I tried!
I like to know more from my visitors of my page what you would like to see me create that’s worth you purchasing a product? I am going to continue doing paper craft and shadowboxes. I am just changing them up a bit to a new format that I feel is better and sturdy product!
First week of May I am doing a Halloween show, so I am going to make some Halloween, movie monsters, horror and creepy product designs. Shooting for these designs to be simple and at a lower price range between $10.00- $20.00. Keep your eyes open for those.
I am open for commissions if you want to reach out to me for a custom product. Additionally I am on Twitter and Instagram if you want to give me a like of follow on there. It would help me out a good bit!

Birthday and Update
Posted 5 years agoOnce again, my birthday rolls around I have failed to keep an journal updated on this site. I felt 2019 was a great year with events, work, family and all-around balance. 2020 on the other hand what I did last year will not apply well this year.
As of now, my goal for the next year of my life is to work smarter not harder. Something about the past 2 years I have just been putting my nose to the grindstone and busting my but and not getting as fair as I hope. Therefor I am going to stick to a better plan of action and a schedule for myself. Its going to take some hard work butt I know I can do it!
I know I been posting a lot of art on here recently to get myself into a better grove with my work. I am challenging myself, as of today go and post a picture of your original character on my twitter account (https://twitter.com/SamohtLion) and you will get a free art of your Original Character in a surprised style. If you will be kind to follow and comment if you can.
Thank you all and have a good day!

2019 Hard at work.
Posted 6 years agoThe past two months I have been working hard on multiple things. Which is resulting in a bit of a mental burn out and some project and assignments are suffering. It’s a disappointment when something you felt you worked hard on fails.
I am taking on the role as Graphics Coordinator for the first ever Voltron Convention. This one is just in time for the 35t anniversary of the original show. My goal is to have the event grab the attention of fans new and old for this event. Right now some of my stuff is being sold on www.voltcon.org website. This may look like a one time event but I hope it works out well!
With the recent announcement of Brony Cons last event, a lot of artist and venders are doing what they can to get a spot to do something at this event. This might be last big market for this type of material and the demand may change.
That’s why I have been posting a lot of MLP stuff in the past month. Trying new styles and methods on designs. Collaborate with a lot of artist on designs to submit to the art show. Make this a once in a lifetime thing to get these items.
For the past 10 years I have been making art for furry cons and past 4 years been doing art for the Brony Fandom. My goal for the last Brony Con is to have 100 new con badge clients! I get a kick when a person has my art on them from a badge to a T-shirt! Speaking of t-shirts one of my designs is in final judging for a Star Wars contest. Hope it makes it to print at the stores and Disney parks!
With the announcement of the last season of My Little Pony, my thoughts are how the show pushed me to be a better designer. What disappoints me is that the Military Brony Group, FOB Equestria did not do more or come closer together. But I find that is something that often happens for most military fan groups. Life events change and different priories take over. Here hoping I see some of the group at Brony Con.

2018 Looking Back
Posted 6 years agoOnce again I am being lazy in updating these post. Reason is due to my attention was working on products to sell at conventions for myself and others I collaborated with such as Lighting Bliss, Key Frame, Sophie Scrubs. Which turned out to be very successful for me and then. I do hope to continue this through 2019.
I would say 2018 was a GREAT year for others and me around me. Yeah some bad things do happen but it seems like the good out weighs the bad. I did some things I normally would not do and I am glad I did them not sure if I would do these things again.
It seem like 2019 is going to be a great year for a lot of people and I hope to make it one myself. Oh boy a lot of people is getting married now. Its nice to see that people are making good money to make that change in their lives. I better get on marketing my products to that audience! The “Your Wedding Here” Christmas ordainments got allot of nice feedback!
As 2019 starts I have some goals for myself. First, is feeling healthier about myself. Right now I feel out of shape and not good about it. I want to change that. Second, is to try to socialize more with co-workers, artist, and others in my community of work. Third, I like to go out on more dates to find someone I click with that I want to pursue a relationship. Fifth, I don’t want others bad moods of feeling effect the way I feel. That has always bothered me in the past and I am tired of that.
Thank you 2018 you were GREAT and AWESOME. Here is to 2019 to make it better!
Update for 2018 and MAG Fest 2018
Posted 7 years agoTo my friends and followers:
Hope 2017 was good for you as it was for me. This year that allowed me to do more things outside of my comfort zone! I hope this becomes something that continues to 2018 for me.
This year I made a trip to an event out in Washington DC area called MAG Fest for the first time. I have herd about it in past being a big YouTube / Channel Awesome event. From what I been told those celebrities do not go to this event anymore and its been changing this event to just another big Anime Con.
The reason I made the choice to go was that I found out that my cower was going and my art partner
cosmicchrissy were making a trip out to the event. I stayed at a local brony’s home that was an hour away and drove out to the event.
I stayed at the event for two days and left early Sunday to get back home and get things squared away for my first full work week of 2018. After attending this event I can say I was not impressed and would not go again. The vender hall was underwhelming, video game sections, seem to lack verity, and the panels seem to be more geared to developers and musicians. As an artist who wanted to next work with people within the art community, this was not the event for me.
The event wasn’t toll waste. I was happy to at spend some time with my co-worker for a little and hanging out with
cosmicchrissy and talk shop. The feedback I got from the other attendees of my Samurai Voltron and Rocketeer cosplay was exciting and allow me to promote my shadowboxes to new clients. Going through the vender hall I can seem my products would sell very well and going to take steps to vending there next year.
As for the negative, I found this event to be very anti-social. If your not going to this event to play video games or have a hotel room with a group at the main locaiton your going to find this event very lonely. As a result I would return to this event if I had a hotel room at the event or working in the vending hall.
I know next month there is a big anime con at the came location. I would only try to go to that event if I could get a room at that hotel. But with a month away I know that is a no go. Additionally I need to start working updating my cosplay to be able to take the abuse of walking around at the convention.

Bronycon 2017 Weekend After Action Report
Posted 8 years agoWhat a long weekend of so much going on! I went down to Bronycon 2017 for the day with: icontexacopokerkitty: Things couldn’t of not work any better. Everything that morning since to fall in to perfect timing. From getting my badge to dropping off art work to the art show and shadowboxes to vender

It seems like this year a lot of venders did well in their sales. It was nice seeing friends in person for the first time and meet up and pick the brains of people I admire. All in all it was a good day but a long and busy one too. I ended up calling it a night around 8pm. Reason was it started at 4am and it was fast pace from the start of the day.
From there on out it was all for my brother and new sister in law wedding. It was a nice gathering the family and friends of the family. A lot of love in the room and its taking me a while to recover from the weekends events.
I will be getting to finishing up commissions this week.

Bronycon 2017 Weekend.
Posted 8 years agoOriginally I had no plans to head to Bronycon 2017, reason is due to my brothers wedding. As much as I want to go for the whole event I couldn’t jump from one thing to another due to I didn’t know what was going on during the week of my brothers wedding. So I inquired if there was anything going Friday of that weekend prior to the wedding. I found out nothings so I made a jump to just to go down to Bronycon for the day.
So my mate

The game plan for the event is, first we should be registration line. Second going to the vender hall to give lighting bliss

Final hit up the Pony Burlesque event and call it a night.
I am happy that I am just going for the day and I plan to make the most of my time!

Anthrocon After Action and Up Coming Event Trot Con
Posted 8 years agoI know it’s been sometime since I have posted on here for those who read my post. This past year has been bouncing around between commission work and the day job. Things were going well with it all getting ready for the cons this summer; Anthrocon, Trot Con, and Lock City Comic Con. Unfortunately I got a wrenched thrown into the mix, I got laid off from my vector designer job.
I was brought on this vector designer job for a 5-year project, instead ended in 5 months. Major buzz kill one would say. I was informed about this right before the Anthrocon event. I wasn’t going to worry about the job situation while I am trying to enjoy the event.
The neat thing about this year was I got a super sponsor ticket for my Baseball Pirate theme design of the Anthrocon “Take me out to the Ball Game” http://samoht-lion.deviantart.com/a.....hirt-623160057 . I was neat to see everyone where my shirts design at the event. They were to have them on baseball jerseys for sale but that ended up as a bust due to customs problem. None the less it was nice seeing my design on shirts.
This was my first year bring my mate and my business partner :icon texacopokerkitty: to the event. For the past 10 years I have been coming to the event and working the artist ally and the zoo. This whole event was new to her and I had to act as a good host for her.
Thursday we just got our badges and try to attend some activates that evening. Stated to call a night around 12 to head back and try to get ready for first day of art show and artist ally. Setting up for the art show and the artist ally seems like a lot to juggle on the first day. I missed when you could set up the art on Thursday and focuses on the art show Friday.
Friday Anthrocn Con event were okay, could of gone better. I was set up the artist ally in a good spot. Which got me a good few badge commissions and some sales. I was hoping for more but the Artist Ally cashiers were having a problem with their machines. Customers were waiting in line for over 90 min to cash out. My mates strongly recommended that we get a dealers table next year to avoid this problem.
The Dirty Paw event was nice. It was nice to help with the Dirty Paw event. Similar what I have done the past year. I hope I am commissioned again to help with the event again for 2018, have come up with a fun monster movie theme poster idea.
Saturday I heading late to the event to work on some badges for pick up and got to the super sponsor lunch event. I got a free ticket to the event and might as well check it out. It was okay, not the thing for me. Right after that I b-lined to the Artist Ally, sat by a great artist () and had of more sales than Friday.
Right after the close of Artist Ally I meet up with my mate at the Brony Meet up. It was nice little event. Nice to see friends I haven’t seen in a long time and chat about things that went on the past year.
Right after the Brony Meet-up, my mate headed back to the apartment and I hanged around with a fellow brony and worked in the zoo till around 10pm. I would of stayed later but my matted need some item from the store. Next year I hope to do more late night works in the zoo. I enjoy meeting new friends in that environment.
I took advantage of going back to the Apartment to make some quick TLK badges with propaganda posters on the other side. Next year to have more villains badges such as Zira, Scar, Nuka, Vitani and Hyenas. Plus work on some commission badges that I got commissioned that day.
Sunday wasn’t too bad. I got a shadowbox commission that I am working on and sold more buttons and posters than I did in the past 2 days. What I learned from my shadowbox sales is not to have boxes bigger than 8X8. Not to many customers have space for a 11 X 14 in their bags to take home.
At the end of the event I made sold 17 out of the 27 items in the art show. Turns out the ones I thought would not sale stayed and the ones that I thought would not move ending up getting sold. Something to learn from the art show this year. Neat year try to do small cut out items for the art show nothing bigger than 8X8.
I would of stayed in the to hang out after the close of everything. But reality of my job situation started to hit me and I need to get my mind in that space and work on some commissions.
The next event I am getting ready for is Trot Con. I am doing a new badge theme related to Fallout Equestria here are some examples

Brony Con 2016 & Updates
Posted 9 years agoIt’s been over two weeks since Anthrcon & a week since Brony Con. Sorry for the late update, had a little of the con flu hit me for 2 days. But I am back to par now drinking plenty of water and other liquids to bring up my immune system to full strength.
Brony Con 2016 was a big event for my mate (Riyo Bast) and me. This was going to be our first big event coming as a couple and working the artist ally. If you didn’t know I meet Riyo Bast at Ponycon 2016 in the line for Ashleigh Ball autograph. Then around April we became a mated pair and started to plan to work Brony Con 2016 together.
For the past few months we have been planning products to sell at the event. Riyo specialized in prints and custom OC Ponies, here a link to her Etsy account (https://www.etsy.com/shop/MoiraCatDesigns ). For me it was a combination of prints and commissioned OC badges. We did very well in out sales despite our location was in the back row of the artist ally. That most likely hurt some sales and was hoping to get our main 6 posters moving more; her rendition: http://www.redbubble.com/people/moi.....duality-series
mine rendition:

Good plan of action that I took some prints to Anthrcon to sale. But a lot of the fans seem to like our Luna Spawn prints; her rendition:

Looking at the event from the sale prospective, it didn’t suck too bad!
We didn’t just come to this event to work; we wanted to do a little fun and socializing when we could. On Thrusday we meet up with some horse famous people for The Fiery Joker birthday party. Here’s a video from that event:
https://www.facebook.com/deathbatro.....68504537198138
Plus I have out some gift badges to some of the people, here is a link of Dr Wolf showcasing those badges:
https://youtu.be/2tGjeCDqqas?t=5m15s
On Friday after sales we planed our whole evening around the Brony Burlesque show or Tavern Purlesque it was called in the schedule. Plenty of drinking and wild dirty talk from Jenn Blake acting as MC for the event, great performance from other dancers and Ingrid Nilson. It was most needed after a long day of work. Prior to the event Riyo Bast got this sexy Luna dress that would make your head turn.
Saturday was our only day we set aside the morning to go see Tara Strong. This has been something I have been planning since our communication on twitter back in February. To make sure things go smoothly we got up supper early to get in line first. As we stood in line patiently it was like a quite clam before the storm. Then she walked in and the place roared with excitement. Then Tara Strong approached the line and asked whos the one that designed her shirt (http://www.redbubble.com/people/sam.....f=recent-owner ) Riyo Bast immediately pointed her out to me and she gave me a great big hug! She also told me that the prints I gave her raised additionally $550.00 to the charity. She knew that she owed me at least one free signature for that work done. The staff allowed me to run back to get one of our prints to be signed by her. Which was donated towards the charity auction on Sunday went for $550.00 (https://twitter.com/BronyCon/status.....98835879940097)
Plus Riyo Bast had a print in the auction as well.
https://twitter.com/BronyCon/status.....16333727784964
It was a memorable experience meeting Tarra Strong. I asked her a favor if she would provide feedback regarding my step moms voice acting demo reel once it was completed.
Here are some photos that were taken of me and Tara Strong.
https://twitter.com/SamohtLion/stat.....93528150294528
I hope I can do some fun art of her in the future. Riyo Bast got some photo with her also and all together we had a nice fun moment that morning before we headed back to our Work station in artist ally. That night at the Grand Galloping Gala we had a chance to show off our stuff in our 1940 my little pony cosplay https://twitter.com/SamohtLion/stat.....96143949713409
On Sunday we decided not to sell and close shop. We made good bit of money and needed to get ready to go back to our homes and what ever our work week had in store for us. I am so looking forward to working with Riyo Bast again at another pony convention!

Brony Con 2016
Posted 9 years agoIts been a busy few days since the end of Anthrocon 2016. I have been getting ready with
riyobast for our artist ally booth at Brony Con 2016. We will be selling prints, postcards, shadowboxs, custom toys and custom commissions. There will be forms at the table for clients to fill out for the custom commissions.
This will be our first time working Brony Con together. Tho we will have separate items to sale, we will share the table D9 at the event so stop by and say HI! I am looking forward to a productive fun event! Me and
riyobast will be doing the cosplay for the Grand Galloping Galla, doing a WWII Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. Additionally I am excited to meet Ms. Tara Strong, who I did several art works for and getting a photo taken with her.
Hope to see every-pony there!!!

PONY CON NYC!
Posted 9 years agoThis weekend I am going to pony con NYC. This is my first time traveling to NYC since 1991. Yeah that long ago! I been doing what I can to get ready for this event and get the most out of this weekend. Its going to be a fun time!
Another note, I had a fan boy moment this past week. As you know I have been making Art Nouveau badges and prints of horse famous people and voice actors OC. Recently I did a image of Tara Strong’s OC : http://samoht-lion.deviantart.com/a.....veau-589624826. About hour of posing it art sites and twitter. Mrs. Tara Strong contacted me and requested 25 prints for her charity https://www.gofundme.com/teamollieoxen. She giving signed copies of the print to the first people who donate 100 to that charity.
Also I want to give an update on my commissions:
Maasai: Sketch
Fangorn Sercath: Sketch
Gryphon Ex Nihilus: Not started
ATug231: Not Started
I will be working on these commissions while I am on the 11 hour bus ride to NYC for Ponycon. If your going to be at the event hit me up!

BRONY CON HOLY COW!!
Posted 10 years agoThis is a journal long over due, but to sum it all up in a nutshell, had amazing time at Brony Con. Staying for the whole event was a great move to do, next time try to leave Monday morning instead of Sunday night.
Brony con was the most social experience I have ever had at any convention! Its like going to home coming at high School but you like everyone. I am still trying to sum up all that happened at the event but so much keeps coming back to me about the event. Nonetheless I am going to try!
Trying to get down Thursday after work was a hot mess, the traffic was just jacked up around the Baltimore area and didn’t make in time to register. I ended up just getting things set up in my room with 3 other Bronies I have never meet before. Ran into some Horse famous people out in about in the Loby. Then wrapped it up to try to get in line early for the first day of the event.
Friday I was in line, had the badges for gifts and commissions ready to go, plus I was in my Rocketeer cosplay which many of the Bronies got a kick! Here are some videos I been spotted in at the event. Where I gave out some of the badge gifts to the horse famous Bronies on you tube.
https://youtu.be/j4YOOteQTQ4?t=1m2s
https://youtu.be/oxNOgFroms8?t=5m33s
https://youtu.be/9s5LGtRoTr4?t=1m6s
So got some clients who are promoting my work, outstanding!
The rest of the day I got some gifts I gave out to the visiting guest plus some original prints of mine I made to get signed which was neat. I would say the highlights with the guest were Cathy Weseluck givng me a hug after I gave her a print. https://twitter.com/CathyWeseluck/s.....27511577354240
Plus Andy Price showing of my drawing of his OC behind his work station at the event.
https://twitter.com/SamohtLion/stat.....82194326056961
The rest of Friday I spent with the FOB Equestria in giving out their badges and joining their crew for dinner plus Pony Palazza show. It was so nice to see these guys I been chatting with for the past 5 months online.
Saturday, was a bit all over the pace again. Was able to get John DeLancey to signed a custom print I made and gave some gifts I made for him to his handler. He didn’t look to well that day. Over herd he got sick off something he ate. Looked like he needed to go to BED!
The rest of the day just cosplayed it as the Rocketeer again, got some great photo ups. Changed into a WWII class B’s for the Grand Galloping Gala. O my that was a fun show to go to, they had cosplayers acting like the show characters interacting with the crowed as if the event was taking in part of the Equestrian universe. I would highly recommend taking a date to that part of the event. TOTALLY worth IT!
Sunday I was able to get some panels, the animation panel about the opening ceremonies behind the scenes talk and the IDW MLPFIM comics panel. Then the rest of the day hooked up with the FOB Equestria and meet up with some of the venders and chatted about their work and some ideas I like to give them. I wish I could go into more details but that day is still hard to recall what happened!
At the end of it all I DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE! I wanted to say good by to many people as I could. Just driving back to Pittsburgh for 3.5 hours alone wasn’t going to be too fun. I didn’t get back till 2am Monday.
The rest of that week was hard, not post con depression more like post con funk hitting me. Just having enough energy to get through the work day and then crashing!
But when this past weekend came around again, I was at another event in Fredrick MD, and I hit up a local club where I knew some friends were going. O behold I ran into some Bronies from the con. Had a great chat with them. Seems like two weekend in a row had some sort of Brony fan meetup experience. I hope I can have something like that this Friday for my Birthday!

Brony Con Prep 2015
Posted 10 years agoFirst of before I start this note. Here is a link of those brony con 2015 badges I have printed out ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17296904/ ). Please note me ASAP if I have missed printing your badge out and I will have it ready for you.
Since Anthrocon, I have been all over Pittsburgh and online making new connections for future fur events and connections for Brony Con. I am so looking forward to the event this year. I have some con badges to give out to commission clients and to some horse famous bronies at the event. Plus some of the prints for the guest at the event, I cant wait to see there reactions!
I will be staying in the Hilton hotel, with 3 other male bronies, which will be easier to move about to and from the convention since I do not know Baltimore that well.
Be there from Thursday event to Sunday afternoon. Be hitting a lot of the panels and getting in line to meet the guest to give out their gift prints. This event is going to be so AWESOME…. ( Said in a Rainbow Dash voice)
Additionally, here is a run down of commission status:
germanpanzer --- Drawing approved, back ground needed, will vector the whole art work for better effect for print out.
Maasai--- Haven’t started
fenrir-lunaris --- Haven’t started
Will have these completed before the end of the month.
I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to see you all at Brony Con!

Anthrocon 2015 Reflections
Posted 10 years agoHello watchers online, hope everyone is doing well. For those who went to Anthrocon 2015 I hope you got home safe. It has taken me a day or so to process what happened during the event. As for anyone who has attended event like Anthrocon, you get a post con depression. In my case I am feeling post con regret.
I seem to get post con regret when I feel I could of done more before the event to prepare to make the event better for myself. This year I seem to be so forced on creating art works for the art show and items for the Artist Ally I failed to make connections with friends who may be there to make plans in the evening.
Hers a break down of how I recall Anthrcon 2015 went for me.
Friday at the event I was jammed up with setting up for the art show, going to host The Lion King Fan Meet, and the Art Show Reception. I was just about running from one location to another to make it to the events on time. Note to self try to have the Lion King Fan meet on Saturday or Sunday next time!
For those who went to the Lion King Fan meet I hope you had a wonderful time. That you enjoy the prizes I gave out. With next year with the start of the new Lion King show some more energy in that fandom can start up again.
As for the art show, I enjoyed the feedback you gave me regarding the art I had up for Auction. The Unicorn Shadowbox design seems to be a big hit with the show. Here’s a link on a tutorial on how I did, that I submitted to another online contest. http://www.instructables.com/id/Uni.....aft-Shadowbox/
If you get the chance please go vote for my submission.
I had 30 items up in the art show this year and sold 18 out of the 30. I was hoping to get the items I made to sold to support friends this year sold. But at least the image for http://cosmicchrissy.deviantart.com/ got sold. Once I get account of how much that went for I will send her the winnings. Next year I am going to stick to less than 20 items for the show and don’t make any more.
As for the artist ally, I was set up on a poor location on Friday to help a new brony attending the event. But Saturday was must profitable, my Brony and Furry tshirts sold well. I am making arrangements to have them sold at Brony Con this year at a friend’s table.
The minimalist badges were the one commission I sold the most of at the ally. I have some full badges I have to work on at home. I will be doing a posting of what I need to make in the next few days. Next year I will work on doing more preorder for these prior to the event. With the next year theme being the “Roaring 20s” I am expecting to sell a lot of Art Nouveau theme badges and have a lot more Art Nouveau prints in the show.
But as I walked around the ally I saw allot of artist I haven’t seen in along time and new artist I wish I made connections with prior to the event. Case in point, a local artist has a new comic series called “Dawn of the Furries” kind of a “Dawn of the Dead” story with the infected becoming Furries. Here is a link to support his book. https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....of-the-furries
What I should of done is post some fan art related to his comic online and make some more post to draw attention to his work and his place in the Artist Ally. I am going to try to make it up to him by making some fan art online.
But what is bugging me in the back of my mind is it seems like this year it was hard to make connections with old friends or even new ones. Which I blame myself due to I spent the last few month busting on my butt on art contest and the art show this year. Most of the friends I use to see at the event were not there or not available. I want to change that for future event.
Going through my archive of watched messages I realized that I had not made a comment, or read any one else journal posting for over a year. Which adds on to the regret feeling. Some friends you have to take note that they are not the same people you once knew or they will not be in the same friendship relationship you hoped. The only action is to cut your ties and wish them well.
I went to a local meetup tonight and they were talking about post meetup interactions and how its best to reach out to those who you made a connection with to see if they are okay. I going to reach out to those new friends and the old friends who contacted me to see how they are doing. Just because I am not depress doesn’t mean I can help.
The next con I am going to is Brony Con, I am going to make this con to be my fun interaction con. I am going to see if I can help my one friend at the event which will allow me to sell some of the Brony tshirts. But the true objective is to have fun at that event. So if your going to the event drop me a line, lets chat prior to the event and may be we can do something together at Brony Con!

Changes for 2015
Posted 10 years agoGreetings,
I know its been sometime since I posted on here. Been out of the loop on whats going on with FA and other actives. Sort of stuck in a rut near the end of 2014 that cause so major changes in my career. But now i am working at a great job in the Pittsburgh area and looking to reconnect with friend and new clients.
As for commissions I owe, I understand if you want your money back and I be happy to return it and I still want to do your commissions. As for art, making arrangements for the Anthrocon art show, doing the artist ally again and hope to do Brony Con again this year. As of this week I am on twitter now (https://twitter.com/SamohtLion), I know better late than ever to get on that site but I want to get more social online I figure thats a start. Hit me up I love to hear how everyone is doing!

Reading my first MLP:FIM fan fiction.
Posted 10 years agoA friend of mine sent me a link to this story (http://www.fimfiction.net/story/133.....diers-twilight) over the weekend and I just spent the past few days reading this story I have to say I enjoyed it very much. I think it sums up what alot of military bronies feel about the show. I would of wished for more main 6 interaction with our character Toby other than that I hit some elements I did enjoy. I want to contribute something to this story, fan art some day. But as I was reading each chapter I envisioned a soundtrack playing. I want to share this playlist I made for this story. I hope you enjoy the music I selected for each chapter. ENJOY!

Anthro Con 2014
Posted 11 years agoBack from another Anthro Con in Pittsburgh. Wasn't too bad this year. I made 20 items for the Art Show this year and sold all but 6. I got some idea what to do in my next art show event. Also, I just missed allot of my old friends who normally go and my friends who were at the events. With that amount of furs in one location it bound to be hard to do.
I arrived to the event early to help Mushi Magic :iconmushi Magic: with her room situation. She stayed with me that night and she going to build a Lion tail for me for my help. She is a impressive fur suit builder and I recommend checking her stuff out.
Originally for Anthro Con I was going to room by myself at the Omni, but I found out 2 weeks prior from Amp Dragoness
AmpDragoness, that one of their room mates couldnt go and there was a room opening with them. Plus I was able to get out of the rest of my other nights from my other room. That saved me a good bit of changed plus it would of sucked to room by myself!
I stayed with Amp Dragoness :AmpDragoness: and her friend Houston
at the Omni. I had a wonderful time with them. They were great room mates to have at the event!
For the rest of the con there was so much going on, I was debating how to split up the event between the artist ally and the events at the con. In the past I have gotten allot of commissions at the event, but I end out burning myself out and missing out on allot of events.
First thing I took care of was getting my The Art of The Lion King book signed by Jim Cummings [Image]http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13923576/ [/image] it was cool meeting such a talented voice actor. I gave him two buttons of my stylized minimalist icons of Ed and Scar, since he voice both of them in The Lion King.
After that I headed over to the Disnymanina talk, which turn out to be kind of not what I expected. I was hoping to see some of the Furry Lion King fans there due to so many things going on we couldn't get a Official or Unofficial Lion King Meet up this year. It would of been fun to do with Jim Cummings there and with this summer being the 20th anniversary. Next year we should do something with at Anthro Con for Lion King fans.
After that I went to the art jam, it was nice to sit around a doodle for fun. When the day came to a close I hung out with Amp Dragoness
AmpDragoness at the room and went down to the zoo to work on some art. It was kind of disappointing that many of my artist friends were not in the zoo that often this year. I guess with some much going on we were all spread out.
Saturday before the Artist Ally I head over to Jim Cummings Saturday morning talk which he was a no show. But they said they would try to work something out before the event was over. I spent most of the day in the Artist Ally. Ran into some friend I meet at the zoo last night and did some work with them. Got a nice collection of commissions done and some to work on at home. I found my old friend Dagger
thewhitedemon in the dealers area. I havent talked to her in over 10 years. Nice to see she made it up to the Anthro Con event.
After the Artist Ally wrapped up I went out with a local friend for dinner. Which was a bad idea. I should learn not to invite local non fur friends out to Anthro Con unless they are doing something at the event. I can not give them the attention the want and things just dont work out well.
I wrapped up the day down at artist ally to get some commissions done and meet some local furs near my home. Making arrangements with them to go to FA united, I have been there since 2010 and I have a creative motivation to work on more art for cons and art shows!!
Sunday they reschedule the Jim Cummings talk for the morning of that day due to the SNAFU of yesterday. As a special treat Jim and the other voice actor Lee did the talk together. The both did a great talk. Here's the rich part of that event, I was the first to ask and question, even before I could ask my question both Jim and Lee star to riff on me due to I was wearing my Lion King on Broadway shirt. I couldnt get my question out for a good mini plus I was RED in the face. I sure someone at the event recorded it and put it on You Tube.
I asked theme the question: "Would you consider do a Rifftrax?" I told them its MSK3 on newer movies. Lee wasnt sure but Jim did a sample if he did it for the Movie Gravity. He put out a challenge foe me: If I can get a 1000 followers on twitter to ask him to do it he would. I dont do much on twitter but there's the changed everyone! That talk with them made my day!
The of that Sunday I worked the Artist Ally, got the good news about how my art work sold for the Art Show. Tried to look for fellow fur friends to sit and draw with. The fact it was so hard to find anyone at the event this year is disappointing. I guess its my own fault not keeping communications with everyone online.
So I working on getting things ready for the next event and making arrangements for FA united. Start planing on a big TLK meet up. Next year is going to be buzzing with news of the Lion Guard and 20th Anniversary of TLK fan art site.
Hope everyone had a good Anthro Con and hit me up sometime. I like to here from you all!!
