Just a little update of some sort.

Not many of you know that my unit is scheduled to deploy in April. From the minute I had gotten to my unit I was told that I was going to go to either Kuwait or Afghanistan. I was being prepped with necessary things that accompany it. Now, I don't know whether I am going or not. My Sergeant said that my section wasn't going, but I will still treat this as if I am. If I don't go, great. If I do have to go, fine.

That being said, I'm still waiting to be certain. If I don't go, looks like I'll be trying to get into Airborne and/or Air Assault School. ^u^

So, after 9 months of being under the mighty thumb of TRADOC, keeping my nose clean, and being a good boy. I'm finally graduating AIT. It may not be what I signed up for. I may also have been forced into this MOS, but I already have an action plan for that.
But I will be a cook for the Army. Not glamorous, not too special, but at least I'm still a soldier. ^_^So, no complaints. I must say that as far as Virginia is concerned, I wouldn't mind coming back as long as I don't train anymore.
I also have been selected to go to HRAP (hometown recruiting) on top of 10 days leave. I'll be home on Fort Benning/Columbus for 24 days. The majority of which I will work with recruiters. But enough time to get a car and prepare for my next duty station in Fort Knox. I just hope that I can readjust quickly and get back to the way things were.

Hello all. It is bow story time once again. This one comes from Basic Training. So there we were fresh from firing our M-16s at the range on Ort Benning, Georgia. This day was relatively cool and windy as expected in Georgia in the winter months early in the year. Well, we were getting searched by a Drill Sergeant. This particular Drill Sergeant was pretty lax in comparison to the others. No pushing around while you're being checked for expended and unexpended rounds on your person. Just a pat down with all of your things in your PC (hat) on the ground in front if you. The procedure also calls for you to hold your weapon above your head while saying, "No brass, no ammo, Drill Sergeant!!" It was my platoon's turn to be checked and long after I had been searched, the Drill Sergeant makes his way to one of my best battle buddies and eventual roommate in AIT, Private S. I'm sure it's understandable if I protect the "innocent" by not disclosing his full name and keep it to abbreviations.
The Drill Sergeant begins his pat down of Private S. Whom has made it clear to our platoon in the barracks that he was a virgin and heterosexual (weird as I refer to them). <--- Epic foreshadowing. As the Drill Sergeant completed his pat down, he picked up Private S PC and his wallet fell out. What's more odd and really funny that a condom had riggled it's way out of the wallet. As soon as the condom was spotted, the Drill Sergeant looks at Private S and says, "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS, PRIVATE!?!" Private S could only smile as he always does. He's a smiling buffoon. Great guy though.
He starts to blush as everyone in the platoon is laughing hysterically. Myself included. Some of the members of the platoon are asking him, "Why do you have a condom if you're a virgin?" Another question that was brought up was that, "Why did you bring a condom where the Basic Training is all male?" I was wondering this myself. I poke fun at him still about this whole experience. The shit that goes on in Basic. I highly suggest going. Maybe not for bettering yourself but for the laughs and the experience.

So, I had been thinkin' for a long time about things and the commitment I've made to my mate. Joining the Army and all. He had made it known to me that he wanted to get married. So yesterday as we talked I told him that after a while thinkin' that I am ready for us to get married. I am absolutely elated to say that. I'm so ecstatic!!! I'm gonna have as my husband!!!! *squeaks in excitement* ^u^ We have been together for a year and almost eight months. In January, we'll have been together for two years. I can't believe how the time has gone by. It's a wonderful feeling!! I cannot adecquately express my joy!!!!!! ^u^

Well I have received my orders and I'll be headed northeast for some training. I'm goin' to Quartermaster School. Yes, I'm headed to be a temporary,

This all being said, DESPITE the fact that I can't really do much artistically. Because I have a lackluster Paint Tool Sai program and a not too mention shabby laptop with no disc tray.

But a BIIIIIIIIIIIGGG point of this journal is to see what y'all wanna see outta me as an artist. I need to grow more and this seems to be an appropriate outlet for that. So, hit me with what ya got. I hope that I don't come across anyone in a negative way as well. Because I love to get responses.

Just a little warning. Tomorrow, I will be leaving Fort Sam Houston for two weeks to go to "scary" Camp Bullis. No biggie. I will be without my phone and laptop for about two weeks. But I'm gonna take a few books and some pencils and paper to keep me company....... and bubble wrap. I needs bubble wrap. ^u^ Hopefully I won't become a heat casualty or get bitten by a snake or some crazy shit. I'll be sure to stay well hydrated. I hope to hear from some of you after I return. This is just a little heads up is all.

First off, it ain't the worst thing in the world that could've happened.

I am bein' re-classed to a different MOS (Army job). I wasn't able to cut it academic wise here as a Combat Medic. I made it all the way to the very last written test but I wasn't able to pass the National Registry test for EMTs, which is a requirement for all Combat Medics. Fortunately for me is that I have been taught everything that a Combat Medic is supposed to know at least on a TRADOC level.

I do not, however, know what my next MOS is going to be. I am also still supposed to go out in the field with my company. Which means I am MIA from FA as of the 7th. Unless something happens between now and then. I am very happy for those of my battle buddies who were able to complete the course in it's entirety. We will see where I will be goin' sometime next week. I don't feel particularly bad about not bein' able to pass, because I tried the best that I could, but unfortunately I wasn't able to do well enough on the test.

I am goin' to keep my head held high and keep goin' forward. It's all I can really do. It also seems to be my best option. Dwelling on failure isn't a healthy way to go into my next set of training, whatever that may be. Wish me luck, I suppose and I will keep those who'd like to know updated on what is to become of me.

Today is my mate 's birthday. He is always there for me whenever I need him. Especially through all the episodes that I go through. I have received my PCS destination earlier this week. I was initially under a lot of anxiety of my PCS. Mainly because there are a lot of bases that I want but I really didn't want a deployment out of the box. As many of you know, I am in a serious relationship and we've been planning on moving the both of us to wherever I was stationed. I feel incredibly blessed that I have gotten what I consider a high honor for my first duty station.

I have not yet received my unit but I am told by experienced sources that I will likely end up in the Airborne Infantry unit. But enough suspense. I've been called on by FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA!!! My report date is 2 September 2013. A month after I finish AIT in Fort Sam Houston. Hopefully this will mean I will be attached to the 82nd Airborne and be sent to home sweet home, FORT BENNING for Airborne School. Though I have been explained the PCS situation. We'll just have to wait and see what unit I get. So as it stands, I will be PCS'ed to Fort Bragg, where I can move out there to Fayetteville. ^_^ I AM SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

*puts on my Atlanta Braves ball cap* IT'S HERE!! IT'S HERE!!! BASEBALL SEASON IS FINALLY HERE!!! Probably doesn't mean too much to anyone else, but baseball was one of the best things about my childhood. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the pilgrimage to Turner Field in Atlanta with my Dad to go see the Opening Day game together this year either. I finally get to watch my team, with which I grew up watching since the early 90s. Hell, I've missed baseball season. I probably won't be able to watch any of the game but I'll be keeping tabs on it. I do plan on going to a BRAVES game when I am shipped back to Atlanta from Texas. I may stay a few nights with my mate, , so we can experience a game or two together. ^_^

So in summary, the BRAVES baseball season starts on Monday an I have something to look forward to in the evenings. I just have to make sure it doesn't interfere with studying.

I have as of 21 March 2013, completed Basic Combat Training on Fort Benning, Georgia. There has been a lot of memories made there and I look forward to continuing to make them in AIT in Fort Sam Houston, Texas (San Antonio).
I actually continued to work on art while I had SOME free time in Basic. Not any furry art, but I made some money on the side with tattoo designs. I made about $80, at $10 per design. I do really miss working on furry art though and miss digital art. Basic Training was a hell of a lot of fun for me. I would make a journal about stories from BCT, but I fear that I don't really have that kinda time on my hands. Sorry to dissapoint. Perhaps at a later time during AIT when things have cooled down and I am in my dorm. My training is designed to turn me into a Combat Medic, Healthcare Specialist, 68W, [insert another job title here]. I can expect to graduate AIT between 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 months from now. I have missed my furry friends and maybe will meet some whilst I am here in San Antonio.

Okies on Friday I was just finishing taking a shower and I heard a banging upon the bathroom door. It was mother, and she had yelled, "Misti's here!!" Now, my friend Misti is someone who used to live across the street from me with her husband Teddy, who is a soldier/recruiter for the Army. They had for the last two years been in Chicago, IL because that's where he had been PCS'd to. :I I hadn't seen Teddy in about a year bow and hadn't seen Misti or their son in about 5 months. So i spent time with them and will likely spend more time with them today and tomorrow.



So during the weekend DJ and I had spent some time together. On Saturday, he had informed me that there was a six month old Boston Terrier puppy that was up for adoption because it was coming from an unfit home. Sunday, the puppy was given to DJ and I as a late Christmas present. (DJ works at an animal hospital and he absolutely loves his job) Anyways, now we have a Boston Terrier along with a Great Dane and a mutt. XP

On Sunday we went out to our friend's house in Alabama where we had all gotten together as we had the previous Saturday to have a little New Years party. As always ambulances could be heard throughout the backroads of Alabama. One reason I hate being in Lee County, Alabama is that EVERY GODDAMN ROAD IS LEE COUNTY ROAD [insert number here] D:<
As the evening progressed we had been shooting fireworks, drinking, and having a little bonfire. I had just lit off a bottle rocket and as I was walking away from it, the rocket ignited and its trajectory was headed in my direction. I was oblivious to the rockets whereabouts, until I heard a growin hissing of the rocket. Before I could even turn around or make any kind of reaction, the rocket burst NEXT TO MY EAR!!! I had that ringing that usually accompanies tinitis for over 15 minutes. XD Not even an hour later, another bottle rocket explodes in my direction. We all believed that the bottle rockets had it out for me. This New Year's Day was very special indeed, it marked DJ AND MY FIRST ANNIVERSARY TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!! Where we shared a drink of champagne and a kiss. Then I sprayed our friends with the residual champagne!!! >:3

so with all that has happened I wish everone a wonderful New Year and No one will hear from me for about two months after January 8.
