deathly hallows part 2 (no spoilers)
General | Posted 14 years agoi saw harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2 yesterday and it was soooooo great! they really ended the series on a high note and did the book justice. There were a couple things that i wish weren`t left out but i felt the majority of changes that were made were justified and worked really well. what do you all think?
Harry Potter!
General | Posted 14 years agoWho's going to see Harry Potter on friday? I've had my ticket for weeks and I can't believe it's almost here! It all ends in two days... so crazy.
Thanks for the feedback. :)
General | Posted 15 years agoThanks for giving me feedback on my last journal. I have been thinking about it and you guys helped me realize I can revive my page by being more active. If I just post more often and get more involved in the community, maybe I can build some momentum again. I can't let Sanji die yet!
Sincerely, Sanji.

Thinking about abandoning this account...
General | Posted 15 years agoOver the past couple years I have been really bad about staying consistent with my artwork as well as putting myself out there in the FA community, so it seems like any interest anyone might have had in this FA page has dwindled down to nothing. I'm not whining or anything, I know it's all because of my past laziness/apathy toward this page.
So I guess the point of this journal entry is to be a final call to anyone who might have an interest in seeing more art from me. If ANYONE cares about me abandoning this page, leave a comment or something. Give me some kind of indication that I'm not talking to the wall here. Otherwise I'll abandon it and that will be it. I'll move on to other things.
Much love, Sanji.

Good news, Everyone!
General | Posted 15 years ago-Futurama is coming back on June 24th for a brand new season! It'll be on Comedy Central at 10 pm. Mark your calendars, folks.
-Even though I haven't posted anything since January, rest assured. I have been drawing heavily the entire time. In my psychology class I had an assignment where I had to modify one behavior in my life, and what I decided to do was make myself draw more often! It worked, and I got some great drawings out of it. The reason I haven't posted any of them is that I'm missing a cord for my scanner :( I know exactly where the cord is, which is three hours away at my mom's house, unfortunately. Sometime soon I'll be able to drive up there and get it.
-Who remembers my comic, Eschaton? Well, guess what! I'm remaking it. Yes, about a month ago I decided to start from scratch. I redesigned all the characters, outlined the plot point by point, divided the story into chapters, gave them titles, and even assembled a list of songs that could be considered the Eschaton "Soundtrack". Silly, I know. But yeah, I've been working on drawing the prologue (which is 10 pages), and I'm almost done!
Sadly, I won't be able to Ink it and scan it until I manage to scrape together enough money (after paying rent and bills) to buy some new ink pens.
-The semester ended over a month ago, and I still haven't managed to find a job (sad day). The job market here in Muskegon is just the worst. There's nothing here! But that's ok. I'm getting by! Ain't nobody gotta worry 'bout me :P But in light of these developments I have decided I am taking commissions again, if anyone is interested. I know I haven't uploaded anything in months, so it's kind of a faith-based thing, but you have my personal guarantee that I can tackle any kind of request and make it AWESSOME. I'm even considering taking porn commisisons but it will cost a little bit more. Help out a starving artist, will ya? :)
Right now my prices are as follows:
conbadges: $10
Sketches: $15
Inked: $25
Colored (no background)[or Ref Sheet]: $40
Colored (with background): $50
(explicit porn will be $5 more. I don't count nudity as porn, just sex or any fetishes)
I have no restrictions based on number of characters. You could have one character or twenty. It'll still be the same price :)
-Anything else? I have a girlfriend now :D We've actually been together for more than three months at this point, but it's been so long since I've posted anything here x_x Things are going great and she fully supports my artistic endeavors :) She isn't a fur but she knows I am and she's ok with it.
Anyway, I guess that's enough for this long-ass journal entry. I'm on top of things even though my situation looks bleak. Live loves to throw snow balls at me; the trick is to catch them and make them into delicious sno-cones. :3

I got a job! And an awesome one, at that.
General | Posted 16 years agoOK, I've had quite a few jobs in my life, but none of them are anywhere near as great as the one I just got.
Starting at the beginning of the semester, I am going to be working in my school's TV Studio! I'll be editing shows, doing camerawork, helping direct, and miscellaneous technical stuff. I'm soooooo excited!
This job is directly related to my major, so by the time I graduate I'll already have a bunch of experience in my field!
I went in on monday to see the manager of the TV department about getting a job, and I talked to him for like two and a half hours. He said he already had a full staff but he liked me so much he's going to get rid of someone just so he can hire me! He said he liked my enthusiasm for broadcasting and also that I remind him of himself at my age.
Oh, and he also said that I can use the computers there to edit my own projects anytime I want, which is PERFECT because my friends and I are in the process of planning a short film that we want to make with my camera. Yes yes and more yes!
So now I have my own place, an amazing job, and I'm all set for school to start in January. On top of the world? You bet.

Update on the apartment and other shit
General | Posted 16 years agoSo I'm all settled in here, although I still have a little bit of unpacking to do. I've been hanging around the apartment all week while my roommate has been working in Grand Rapids. I've been kinda lonely but I've kept myself busy getting all the things done that need to get done.
I signed up for my classes at school (I'm taking Business and Technical Communication, Computer Information Systems, and Applied Psychology).
I got my student ID and applied for a student loan to help pay rent in the coming months (yes, my school allows that).
I've applied for jobs in the area and online. I've been reading up on transcription a lot, and I applied to a few legit transcription companies. I figure with my 90+ WPM typing speed and familiarity with microsoft office and other such programs, I should have a good chance of being hired, but you never really know.
Chances are I'll end up getting a work study job at school. I went in the other day to see if i am eligible, and yes i am! So i got a list of all the departments with openings and I'm going in on monday to talk to the heads of said departments.
Aside from all that I've just been putting shit away in the apartment and keeping it all clean and organized. My roommate and I have a couple giant boxes of old dishes, so I've been going through and cleaning all of them. So many dishes!
I will be getting my new laptop in about a week when my dad comes up for christmas, so that's sweet. In the meantime I have my old old old desktop hooked up to my LCD TV haha. It's like having a freakin' 37 inch monitor, so that's awesome. But it's only temporary.
I've made a few attempts at drawing shit with my desktop (it only has the original photoshop CS yikes!) but I haven't produced anything worthwhile, really. I've become so accustomed to drawing on paper over the past six months. I just need to get back into the groove of digital art (which is quite groovy if i say so myself).
What else.. I've been watching The Office a lot (the american version) and it is such a great show! I decided to start from the beginning and watch the series all the way through. I'm just over halfway done with season 2 at this point. I have to say my favorite character is Jim. He's like the voice of reason among all these crazy people (especially Michael. Oh my god).
Haha, so that's my life.
OH MY GOD HOW COULD I FORGET?! I saw Avatar last night and it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. It just blew my mind right out the back of my head. It's one of those movies that you don't want to end because you just become so attached to the characters and the amazingly beautiful world they inhabit. That movie was seriously amazing, and I feel like it really raised the bar in terms of special effects and just the amount of effort that should go into movies in general. It was a true labor of love, and it shows.
Ok, I think this journal has gone on long enough. Until next time, Furries!

Moving into my new apartment!
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, I've got all my stuff packed and in about a half hour I'll be on my way to Muskegon to move into my new apartment!!!
I'm actually on the lease this time so my living arrangement is a little more permanent than last time, thank god.
Things are finally coming together. I'm enrolled at the community college across the street from my apartment, I've got my financial aid, I've got plenty of money for the deposit and rent, I'm all freakin' set!
And I'm getting a new laptop for christmas, so you can expect new drawings from me soon after that!

Remember how I said my life was stable? Guess I was wrong.
General | Posted 16 years agoSo, in my last journal I said I had an apartment in Kansas City and a great job at a movie theater, and everything was peachy-keen!
Well... My roommates decided on a whim to break the lease and move back to Michigan. That left me with nowhere to live (again), so I had no choice but to come back to Michigan with them and move back in with my mom :(
This happened a week or so after I posted that journal, and I've been spending my time since then trying to find a job in my mom's city, with no luck. The job market in kansas is much better than the market in michigan. Hell, the job market on the moon is better than michigan.
But anyway, I'm getting a new apartment now, still in michigan but a few hours away from my mom. Hopefully it will be a little easier to find a job there. I'm enrolled at the community college across the street from the new apartment, so that should be good.
I move in on November 2nd, and assuming all goes according to plan, I'll find a job before school starts in January. Wish me luck, everyone! Money has been, and will be extremely, extremely, extremely tight for a while, even if I do get a job.
But things should be stable again soon. hopefully. And then I can start posting art again.

The Prodigal Cheetah Returns!
General | Posted 16 years agoOk so i'm back from the world of mysterious mystery beyond the limits of imagination. But I didn't end up where I originally planned.
Yup, I'm living in Kansas City now. yayyyyy :D
I left school after two years and made my way here. Now I have myself a steady job at a movie theater (working 45-55 hour weeks :D) and I'm getting a brand new computer within two weeks. I'm so excited! I'll be able to make digital art again, and even animation! I've been wanting to get back into animation for a while now, and I'm DEFINITELY going to do it. I'm at a perfect place in life for this. I've got a regular routine again and a steady flow of income.
So you can expect to see more submissions from me, and more ambitious projects than ever before!
It will just be a couple weeks. Don't give up on me yet, FA! <3

I'm coming back! (and the ME Meme :D)
General | Posted 16 years agoOk, it's been a while since i've posted any art, but I've got a bunch of it coming real soon. And remember, Commissions and trades are always open!
now, onto the meme.
1) Who are you?
2) Are we friends?
3) When and how did we meet?
4) Would you kiss me?
5) Give me a nickname and explain why.
6) Describe me in 1 word.
7) What was your first impression of me?
8) Do you still think the same?
9) What reminds you of me?
10) If you could give me anything, what would it be?
11) How well do you know me?
12) Are you gonna put this in your journal and see what I say about you?
13) Would you meet up with me?

"It's a little cute and a little insane". MFF con report.
General | Posted 17 years agoTonight was the end of MFF, and I'll start my report by telling a little story.
Earlier tonight i was sitting in the hallway drawing picture. A huge percentage of furs had left already, since it was getting pretty late. A guy walked up and looked at my sketchbook.
"I really like this for some reason, but I can't put my finger on it," he said.
"oh, thank you," I replied.
"It's a little cute and a little insane at the same time," he said with a chuckle.
And at that point my friend chimed in with, "Kind of like this whole con."
And I thought that just perfectly summed up the whole weekend right there. But I'll go into more detail.
As this was my first furry convention ever, I was understandably taken aback as I walked in on thursday afternoon. Fursuiters were all over the place, as well as a wide variety of people dressed in strange clothes. I thought it was wonderful. I was surrounded by furs for the first time. It's very surreal.
Of course, it was also very liberating, since I planned on cross-dressing for the entire time I was there. I was not afraid of being judged. Furs are very open-minded people (for the most part. I'll get to that in a minute). So my friend and I went to register, but we found that we had to wait an hour and a half for the registration room to open. While waiting I got into a conversation with someone I never met before, and although I don't recall his name, I remember that he was a dalmation...
Anyway, it should be known that on thursday night I was not cross-dressing. I went outside at one point for a cigarette. I got into a pleasant conversation with a couple guys out there, one of which was a Pony. This pony guy was cool, and I thought maybe I had made a friend. Well, was I wrong! The next day, I showed up wearing my girl clothes and I happened to see him again. I talked to him, but he was very standoffish. I saw him plenty more times over the course of the weekend, but I didn't bother talking to him. I think he didn't approve of cross-dressers or something *shrugs*
Anyway, I went to some cool panels and stuff at MFF. One was a thing called "Fox Gameshow", which was a jeopardy-like game with nothing but fox trivia. And my team won! woo! We got little teddy bear plushy ornaments as prizes, and I tied mine to my jacket and wore it the rest of the weekend. It looked really cute :D
I also went to a discussion about Dragons, which was quite interesting, and I saw the movie Animalympics for the first time since I was a little kid. gotta love animalympics. It is one of the things that led me towards the fandom in the first place.
On friday night i went up to the con suite, where they were serving ravioli dinner. It was delicious, and while I was there I met the most interesting person. The name on her conbadge was Iveyangelo, and she is the number one ninja turtles fan in the world. She has an extensive collection of TMNT memoribilia, including dozens of animation cels from the various cartoons, original print comics, and even two of the heads from the third movie. She knows the voice actors from the original series personally, and she has a t-shirt signed by almost everyone who has ever been involved with the franchise. She also showed me pictures from comic-con, where she met and had in-depth conversations with both Seth Green and Corey Feldman. Fascinating.
I met a guy today named Pouncer
pouncer who I had a long discussion with, about photoshop tricks and other various things. He's a cool guy. check out his work. So, to sum it all up, I had a great weekend. There were just too many things that happened to mention in this journal. It was a very unique experience and i'm sure i'll never forget it. It's going to be weird going back to the outside world. I'll probably find myself wondering why no one is wearing a badge with their name on it, or wondering why no one gets the joke when i say, "and i want videos of all of it!" about random things.
~Off to MFF!~
General | Posted 17 years agoWell, i'll be leaving for MFF in about twenty minutes. i posted my conbadge here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1728577/ so come find me!
I'll get online at various points throughout the con, to update people and stuff. And i'm going to try to buy a disposable camera so i can take tons of pics!
Alright then, I'm off to MFF!~~

Sanji Rasha, what's up with you?
General | Posted 17 years agoI'll tell you what's up with me! it's time for an update.
So after my last journal i got a few commission hopefuls, but only ended up getting one actual commission. oh well, though. better than nothing!
The commission is for
Prowler7 and i'm making progress on it slowly but ever-so-surely! I'm almost done inking it, and then the coloring shall begin :)
So, aside from that, there isn't too much to say. I'm really looking forward to MFF! it's going to be a blast and a half. I'm going to try to get as many photos as possible and maybe i'll post some of them here, or at least a link to them :)
One more thing, before I go: GO OBAMA! WOO! OUR NEXT PRESIDENT, YEAH!!!

looking for a ridiculously cheap commission? look no further
General | Posted 17 years agoOk, so remember how i said i was going to MFF in my last journal? I still am going, but things have become a little bit more complicated. Due to some complications with my financial aid (being charged for a whole new class and textbooks) i will be receiving a significantly smaller amount of money in my refund.
So, i'm trying to raise as much money as i possibly can, so i can get there all in one piece. that means Commissions! and as many as humanly possible. Right now i have one on my queue. I need more :o
My prices are ridiculously cheap, and they go something like this:
Sketches: $10
Color (no background): $25
Color (with background): $30
Icon: $10
conbadge: $15
and just so you know i do not put a limit on the amount of characters per picture. So if you wanted a picture with five people in it, it would be the same price as a picture with one. It's a steal!
I'll end this journal by saying this, "please, please, please help a poor cheetah get to his first furry convention! I won't let you down. Quality guaranteed."

Midwest Furfest!!!
General | Posted 17 years agoOk, i have been thinking it over, and i realized that going to MFF is a completely real possibility this year! finally, after being a fur for almost four years, i'll be able to go to a con! :D :D :D
if anyone else is going, i'd love to meet up and hang out, or at least say hello! so let me know if you'll be there. woo!!!

General | Posted 17 years agowell, i've been a busy little bee this summer, working at good ol' meijer and working on mah doodles at the same time.
sadly this summer has and will continue to be internet free. but on the plus side, that gives me more time to do productive things and interact with people face-to-face (the horror!)
i uploaded a couple of my newer pieces to my gallery today. take a gander at them and feel free to leave critique. i'll tell you right now, though--if you havent looked already--my newer stuff is more intense and vibrant than the pictures i've posted before. i'm getting better at expressing myself, i think. but blah, tell me what YOU think and all will be well :]
so the second strip of Space Dementia will have to wait to be uploaded until the next time i get online (which could be weeks, sadly). i dont really like to post more than two or three pictures in one sitting.
alright, that's all for this time! Sanji out!
{Long live the [UMM]}

what is this "internet" you speak of?
General | Posted 17 years agowell, i've been gone for a long time. i have no internet access at my apartment and i most likely wont have any until i go back to college at the end of september. major league suck.
i've worked on a lot of art while i've been gone, but i dont want to dump it all on here at once, so i'll probably just post a few before i go to work here soon.
anyway, i just wanna say i miss all my online buddies, and i'm not gone for good! i'll be back in a couple months at the latest. and the art shall flow.

BIG NEWS (possibly)
General | Posted 17 years agoi know it hasnt been long since my last journal, but a lot is happening right now.
I found out that the internet wasn't working because somebody hacked into my school's network and fucked it up. so now it goes in and out, usually staying on for only a few minutes. It has been that way for a couple days, but now i think it's starting to get better. I can manage to stay online for at least ten or fifteen minutes without being booted. but it seems like IRC hates my internet, since everytime i sign on it instantly kills my connection. i dont know if it takes up too much bandwidth or what (which would be crazy because it's just a little chat program...)
but anyway, that'll all be over soon since i'm leaving this friday for my mom's house. I've decided i want to get a simple factory job. Factories pay pretty well and it doesnt take much effort. Sure it's boring, but what job isnt? I just want something to bring the money in while i focus on my art.
ok, here's the real BIG NEWS i mentioned in the subject header: there's a pretty good chance that I'LL BE MOVING TO GEORGIA THIS FALL!!! A good friend of mine from high school is moving there with her family, and she came up with a plan for four of us to go there with her. As of right now, the plan is to get a place together in a small town (i forget the name of it, but it's where she is moving) just outside Atlanta. We'll all work for a year and then go to the University of Georgia (where the first two years are free if you are a resident) and finish college. This would be so perfect for me, i would get away from Baker (dont ever go there) and west michigan in general. I'll be with people who all have the same idea i do about pursuing your passion and taking risks instead of playing it safe. i have a friend who makes his own music, and another who does physical stunts. I have my filmmaking skills and drawing skills. we all plan to put our efforts together and make awesome videos and stuff. It'll be a totally awesome environment for me, surrounded by people who are passionate and encourage creativity. It's basically all i've ever wanted out of life, and i hope it works out.
plus, i'll be able to go to FWA every year, since i'm right there! and maybe i can hang out with other people i know in the area. It would be sweet. I could probably even make it to some of Ilani's parties down in florida.
anyway, i hope that all works out, and let me know what you all think!

Things that are happening
General | Posted 17 years agook, i have a few updates.
First: if you know me personally, then you know that i have kind of lost an interest in my art over the past few months. It even got to the point where i wouldnt even pick up a pencil in weeks. Well, i just want to let you all know that i have realized that art is what i truly love, and that passion was burned out somewhere along the way. I'm now re-igniting that fire, and you can expect a lot more work from me in the coming weeks, the first of which being the rest of the avatars and my trade with
jayness
Second: my laptop has gone and decided to be a little bitch and wont connect to the internet. I've tried both wireless and ethernet, and in both cases it will connect to my local college network, but i cant get onto the actual world wide web. needless to say, it's pretty annoying. I've tried restarting countless times, uninstalling and reinstalling the software that i have to use to connect to my school's network, i even took my laptop's battery out and put it back in. I'm obviously pretty desperate here. I'll probably have to take it to a computer shop and pay way too much money for them to fix it.
Third: I have just over a week until i'm out of college for the summer, and you know what that means... work! yayyyyyyy. The thing that sucks is that i have to live with my mom for a while, since i can't stay at my friend's house (where i stayed last summer). So, i'll be at my mom's--cut off from all contact with my friends--until my friend Sandy gets her house and lets me stay there. It could be a couple months. so that's fun! (sarcasm). At least i'll be able to pull some money in (art supplies, anyone?) and work on my art without any distractions. At the moment my mom does not have any internet, but she said we can get it once i get there. yey.
Fourth: Convention? At this point in time, i am hoping to get to Midwest FurFest this November. Although FA:U WOULD be much better, i dont know if that will work out. I know some really awesome people who are going to FA:U who i would enjoy hanging out with, but what can ya do? Sometimes you just gotta play with the cards you are dealt. we'll see how the summer plays out, and i'll surely give more updates as i go.
Finally, here's what i still need to finish:
Contest Winners:
Cherry/Kaza (need to color it)
Taras (need to color it)
Trades:
Jayness (need to finish inking and color it)
Extra crap:
Avatar for Drax (color)
Avatar for Kirune (color)
that about does it for now! I'll be hangin out on IRC in #christianfurs and #artconference, not to mention #sanjisforest, for the next week or so, before the end of the quarter. So come chat with me! The more the merrier :)

100 Watchers
General | Posted 17 years agoSweet. i have a hundred watchers! Thank you everyone. I know i've slowed down lately, but I'm sure that'll change once i'm finished with school in a couple weeks.
i still have the rest of the avatars to do, and i'm workin on them, dont worry. I also have a trade with
jayness that i'm working on just as hard.
Also, i would like to point out that critique is always welcome whenever i post something here. Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think (whether it be good or bad. In fact, negative reviews are the most helpful in the longrun).
ok, that's about all there is to say for now. until next time!

species meme (the ups and downs of being a cheetah)
General | Posted 17 years agook, i was tagged by
Keb to do this species meme. so here it goes!
The Good Aspects of Being A Cheetah:
1. We look totally badass with our spots and face markings.
2. we are extremely fast and agile. we can get out of most bad situations by simply running away. Well, unless our enemy can fly.. *cough*dragons*cough* in which case we are screwed.
3. Our amazing vision. we can see in the dark, baby!
4. sex appeal. i mean, come on. who can resist a sleek, muscular cheetah? no one, that's who.
5. our fur is short and easy to clean. it's not like canine fur that gets all sloppy and sheds everywhere.
6. grace. as cats, we are naturally graceful.
7. our tongues. who doesnt love feline tongues, seriously? they tickle you when we lick you, and they are perfect for grooming.
8. our tails. they're long, thin, and swishy. nuff said.
9. our teeth. perfect for biting into meat and tearing it off. no steak knives for me!
10. our spots. this one is so good it deserves being mentioned twice.
The Bad Parts of Being A Cheetah:
1. the stigma that all cheetahs are flaming gay. yeah, i'm totally not gay, thank you very much!
2. catnip. people can easily sneak some catnip into my food, then i'm gone for the rest of the night. trippin' balls.
3. the sex appeal. yes, this can be bad, too. people always want to get in the pants of a cheetah, and with good reason. we're hot as hell. but it can get vexing if i DO NOT WANT D:
4. dragons. for some reason dragons love to prey on poor little cheetahs. we must taste good or something. and dragons can fly, so we can't run away. it's quite unfortunate.
5. We can be conceited sometimes. we're cats, we can't help it.
6. our spots. i know, i said spots were good... twice. but there is one thing about them that sucks. for some reason, people love poking my spots! i'm like a living dart board.
7. hairballs.
8. we're almost TOO awesome.
9. tails can get caught in things, and that hurts like a motherfucker.
10. we are NEVER sarcastic.
alright, now i have to tag three people.

General | Posted 17 years agoso i've become quite distant from my art lately. i hardly ever draw anymore. the most i ever do is doodle during class.
