It's been a number of years, and I figured this spot could be occupied by something other than a travelogue.

For those who recall, some time ago I was speaking of my plans for thru hiking the Appalachian Trail. I've fallen hopelessly behind on the blog, so this seems the easiest route to update everyone. I'm in Monson, ME, 114 miles away from completing the goal I set out on over six months ago. I'm going to make it, hell and high water.

Too much has happened to really describe it well now; but I've seen floods, insane winds, and learned well where and how these mountains grind body and spirit alike. I've known an exhaustion beyond words, but I'll be on that summit in ten more days. It's already surreal at this distance.

So, for the uninitiated, I have some pretty ambitions plans for next year. The primary note, walking from FurryWeekendAtlanta to Anthrocon. Obviously there would be some vehicular asistance to get me to/from the trailhead but yeah, that would put me on around a 1,300 mile footpath between the two events.

Now, it's not enough to walk; I think I should walk with a purpose in stride. Namely, every year, people look around and remark at AC who came from however far away; those who came internationally always have the greatest milage, but I believe I'll be setting a record for walking. This shall be celebrated.

That's my plan really, it can be hammered out futher at a later date; but expect some sort of blog to show up eventually.

There was a discussion among some friends of mine late at a donut house that...well, it would be a perfectly swell place to hangout and be indoors for once. So, that said, I know of at least three of us who'll be sitting at Fray's Donuts on 66th street north, at 10pm on Friday. If it works, may turn it into a bi-weekly thing with.... idk, whatever comes of it.

That one. So, commit it to memory. 10pm, Friday, Fray's Donuts. If someone brought apples to apples or some other light hearted way to kill time, that would also be acceptable. This is really aimed at being a decent little hangout on the Pinellas side, given it seems every meet is over in Tampa xP

Probably not worth suiting it, given it's y'know, a donut shop. A little small, probably too warm, and too confectionary for such, but yeah, if anyone has Risk or something, that would be awesome :V

So, I'm thinking now that I have an iPod again, sort of an inherrited gift. It was broken, but by the powers that be, and spare parts I had on hand anyway, it's working quite well once more. Now, I can only think of cosmetic improvements to this iPod. I've toyed with the idea of commissioning a sylized 'sona pic, in the sort of simplified profile which would be best expressed in a metal engraving. That said, my first few choices are all closed on commissions for...forever? So, here's where I seek the help of my community, I require a simple and small design, with rather obvious content. So yes, propose people who may be interested in such a venture!

So yeah, the stage was set on craigslist, many would enter, two would prove victories. After an interview to the death, I arrived with my announced victory. Today, was my FINANCIAL INDEPE- nah, I just got a job packing boxes for some ecommerce company. I am now on the front lines of Cyber Monday.
