General | Posted 14 years agoSo I had another dream yesterday, this one was creepy because It had a huge sense of deja vu... It was a dream leaning a little more on the nightmare side.
Well, the dream starts off with me and one of my buddies were talking, leaning against the side of a blue car. It was night. I notice a pair of headlights up the road coming towards us, and I urged my friend to get back. We jumped over the bonnet of the car and this huge truck collides with a whole bunch of traffic on the road. We were unscathed and I had a huge sense of relief. Then I saw it, a ghastly figure appears ushering a whole load of people with him, and I shouted at him desperately "Oh fuck off! We survived that! You can't take us, we're still alive!". He looked at us and scowled, "You know the rules." he said lazily. Death had cheated us.
We had no choice but to follow him, and I knew what awaited us. I had been here before, I was certain of it. I survived the first time, but I knew, that my chances of beating it a second time were extremely minimal. He lined us up and rostered us one at a time and gave us rather plain looking grey jumpsuits, Once each person had their clothes on, he gave them, one at a time, what looked like a receipt, some paper which I recall contained all our body information. He stapled the receipt to their chest, and the folded papers to the shin, and sent us one at a time into the dark thresh hold that lay beyond.
I, naturally given my reluctance to face this experience yet again, fumbled endlessly with my clothes and got side tracked by an odd scene of a war involving sailors and seals. Once I regained my focus, I walked over to the impatient ghastly figure who then took the liberty of stapling the receipt to my chest and then handed me the forms and the stapler to do my last. He then scowled, turned face and walked into the abyss, following everyone else. I felt lonely here, and I knelt down to try and tuck the the papers into my pants, but they were loose and (now) crumpled up and messy. So I bit my lip, lined the forms and the stapler and slowly, timidly punctured the flesh. I could feel it, and it was painful (isn't implied pain supposed to end dreams? D:). The pain numbed down and I walked hastily through the abyss, where I found the last section, that I was dreading... A line of 5 people, standing in front of what looked like an exposed sewerage pipe, the one at the front armed with a shotgun. We were down to only 5? How many people couldn't I save? I told them all desperately, "Listen to me, if you want even a chance to survive this, remember: Press shift to run." (HAHA I had a call of duty reference in my dream..) The one at the front, armed with a shotgun, turned around and nodded. "Yeah... I know. He got me the first time.."
At this I was surprised. Last time, there were no second chances... I watched he bravely enter the pipe, her shotgun armed and ready as she disappeared into the engulfing darkness that lay beneath. Not even minutes later, after she went in, the next person in the queue was given a bloodied shotgun and instructed to enter the pipe. She didn't win... I trembled, and time seemed to accelerate until I was the only one left, with the ghastly usher beside me standing impatiently. My hands were suddenly filled with the smooth metal and wood of the shotgun. It was my best defence to what lay beneath, and thankfully... Seemed never to run out of cartridges.
I walked... Into the pipe. I never looked back, I focused only on what was ahead, knowing damn well that a untimed glance could spell the end to my return to the living. Suddenly my chest was pulled in. Far in. Shotgun gripped in my hands, until I saw him, under the dimly lit light... That face, I'd seen it before. Far before in my nightmares. He had the appearance of a child, with light brown buzzcut hair, and blue eyes. I was face to face with "Death" once again. He spared no time, and neither did I. I leaped backwards. He called after me "This time, you'll be mine" he said, in that haunting, child voice. I let loose my first barrel of fire upon him, his skin rippling like it's been hit with airsoft pellets. It didn't look like much, but injuring death is no easy feat for a mortal weapon. He slouched forward and I knew what was coming, dashing into one of the safety sideways as a sudden shockwave rippled the skin at my cheek as it dashes past me.
No more time to be wasted, I lunged back into the main tunnel and strafing sideways, back through the pipeline, riddled the childish figure with shots, evading shockwaves down the hall. I was lucky, a well timed leap managed to evade a ripple of dust that flowed beneath my feet, as Death sent out a wave along the floor. This was new... Shot after shot, pump after pump, dashing to the sides and jumping... It was exhausting, but finally, death was bleeding. But.. Of course... Death loved his games.
He suddenly zoomed up right behind me, my shotgun slipping through my fingers as I stumble backwards in a panic. He grabbed my side with one of his deathly grips, and with a smile, raised an open hand into the air above him. In my fear and frenzy, I had forgotten what I needed to do.. I sent a fist at the palm of his hand as it was thrown towards my face, driving his hand back with a following push and smack to his face with my free arm. Death winced and scowled at me. "You can't get away from me. Not this time.." And he repeated the attack. I could feel that heatwave breath from him run over me. I parried his hand and smacked him across the face again. My heart was racing, I could lose this round at any second... Death flew into a rage and pushed his face up to mine, my eyes widening in terror, twitching and pushing whatever I could away from my body.
-- In this panic I woke up... x3; But I woke with the feeling of Deja vu... As if I had had that dream before, or if I really did cheat death IRL a long time ago, and won my life back. I remember, I had even recalled memories of my first survival... Even if I had won that round, Death isn't known for being fair... He required the survival of 6 full rounds, and each time he'd be more furious for you returning. Very similar story arc to an anime called 'Gantz' in hindsight. But I wasn't even supposed to be there in the second round. I was still alive, I had survived, but I was pulled into the games anyway. Once you are able to see the ghastly figure, you're pulled into the game.

Little Update
General | Posted 14 years agoI managed to at least upload something of substance, and of my own imagination. As it turns out, I really can't draw things outside of my own imagination well ^-^; I'm ashamed to say I had to scratch two of my commissioners due to my terrible skills in drawing and my hopeless self confidence. It may be some time still before I can churn out something special for others.
Truth be told, I've been having a pretty tough time, on every frontier. My old man reinforces how much of a failure I am, and refuses to listen to me. He avoids talking about me, but my whole extended family know how much of a disappointment I am to him. I'm still practically unemployed, with no hope of leaving this birdcage of a home. I still don't have my license or car, so there goes my freedom. Still single. It's lonely, but I don't mind... My life could be much worse, so I'm grateful for the little things I have,such as a loving mother, my music and headphones, and a few friends that give me the smallest shred of value in this terrifying world. I'm very grateful for that.
I've been on a little bit of a low, my self confidence quivering and my self esteem is dead. I feel like I've lost my value to the world around me, and I'm scared I won't get anywhere in my little life. But I'll keep trying. Before my dad went off at me, I had the inspiration to rebuild my resume, and apply for a few jobs I was scared to apply for. Oh! I also quit smoking! I thought that was a success, it's been almost two months. And at least I managed to finish that picture. I hope you all like it.
Here's to hoping I have more positive things to talk about in the next journal. Hope you all have a wonderful day. *bows*

One thing I was worried about when I started taking commission requests last week was time, as it always seems to be against me. I've been very grateful to have three very patient commisioners, which has taken a LOT off my mind. In doing so, I'll admit I didn't start the sketching phase immediately after receiving the details, (Terraria was just THAT awesome) however, the sketching phase is coming along nicely. There was a few complications with one of them, however I have now completed the sketching phase of two of the three commissioners. I punch those numbers into a calculator it makes a happy face.

Will now be opening 2 commission slots for the 'Wildcard' set. The commission you will be buying is a character of your choice, done in my own art style, digitally inked and coloured on a central panel, with a symbol of your (or mine if you wish) design and a card suit of your choice. The conditions of the suit is that it must not be the regular set (no spades, hearts, clubs or diamonds), however, the class must be traditional card class (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace). The result will be similar to this:

The winner will get the final slot on the wildcard set. (yay!)
Other particpants that put in effort, won't be left out though, if it makes me smile or giggle or cry (not that hard), In return I'll do something like an Icon or head shot of a character of your choice as a thank you.

In a few minutes, I'll be streaming an idea I've had for a while, of a series of artworks called "Wildcard", of which a character will be depicted in the center of a playing card style template, with a unique suite (decided by the character owner, or by me if they are indecicive). So instead of diamonds, clubs, spades and hearts, it'll be a suite of choice. I plan on making at LEAST 4 of these pieces, depending on how the first card which I will be streaming goes.

If all goes well, there will be a variety of ways to get into the list. One of these is by my own choice. I will gift art a person(s) of my own choosing for any reason. So consider this a free slot. I won't pick the closest person to me, but I won't pick a complete stranger either. Make your voice heard to me (without pestering me) and you might be surprised :o

Now an Art Factory
General | Posted 14 years agoNow that I have a metric f-ton of freetime, I'm going to be outputting art like nothing else (hopefully!). Today marks the first digital piece in about a year I suppose, 'Twisted Slipstream', done in a new style to present 'Vorgir' a species I created! Happy days. Seriously don't ask what I'm getting myself into, I'm terrified myself... Buuuut....
I'll be doing commission badges for midfur XI, for the masses... Like... here. :P I don't really know what else to say in this section... Due to TAFE and time restraints, I will only have slots for 3 people... But this doesn't mean only 3 people can get badges! This simply means, that I will only accept and work on commission requests at 3 at a time. Any more than 3 people will be slotted into a queue, which I may get to if I can.. / have time. Due to this, I will only accept payment from people who are registered in one of the 3 slots. The pricing is simple! :D

Japan Time!
General | Posted 15 years agoSo! So many things have happened recently. I've been getting out heaps and spending time with furs I don't usually spend time with locally. It's been great ^.^ And I haven't been this happy in a long while. Some new information is here though...
I'm now accepting commissions! ^//^
The added stress of money and expectations will be good in adding a new drive to my drawing. This is a special type of commission list though, pretty much, you tell me what you want me to draw and how you want it (pencil sketch, ink, digitalised, markerised, etc), I'll draw it, and you pay me what you think it's worth. Just to put down a few things...
1. As soon as I start doing marker colour or digital colour other than the lineart, the minimum I'll continue for is $5, since markers are expensive and colouring is very time consuming.
2. If you want a pencil sketch or ink, and you _don't_ like it, don't pay me anything ^.^" I'm in this for the learning experience. If you don't like what I drew for you, then by all means don't pay me for it! I really don't mind. :3
3. Maximum I'll accept for a full digital colour or full marker is $20, reason for this is (while I don't think so...) some people think the time and effort I put in it is worth more... And I do put a LOT of time into colouring and doing pieces... But there are MUCH better artist you could be comissioning for an equal ish price. I guess if you want me to do a commiss for you, I'm very grateful at the opportunity *bows* that you want to give me a go rather than someone who could probably do the job much better.
Things I'll be able to do:
Icons (I won't accept more than $10 for these. They're easy and fast to do. And I enjoy doing them)
Conbadges (I can do these too. Never tried doing a traditional conbadge though... Speccing in digital for this part)
General Comission (These things are just one character with a simple background. I haven't learnt to do backgrounds yet... *blushes* I'll get there, I promise)
Tomorrow, I make my way to Japan for 12 days, alone, no family, no friends. I am EXTREMELY excited at the opportunity to rely on myself more, and tune myself for motivation and self development ^.^ It'll be EXTREME!!! April 5th to April 17th, from Osaka > Kyoto > Kanazawa > Akita > Sapporo > Niseko > Hakodate > Ueno, Tokyo. An epic adventure to be had, really looking forward to it. I will miss you all... I'll log in from time to time.
