Commission openings: I think I'm going to open for Fall/Halloween icons in late September, when I come back from my trip I am leaving for shortly. I may be opening for some speedpainting slots as well because that's something I want to do more of. No more refsheets for a while. I am pretty burnt out on them for the moment as they seem to be all I've been doing lately XD

Europe Trip: I'm leaving for a trip with my guy to Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, and Germany on Wednesday. I'll be gone for 2 weeks. Not sure if I will be checking FA or not. Again, Twitter is a better bet, but even with that I'm probably only going to use Internet when I have Wi-fi access, so I won't be able to be as attentive to notifications.

If anyone is wondering, this trip is centered around seeing Ayreon Universe featuring Floor Jansen (Nightwish, etc.), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Tommy Karevik (Kamelot, Seventh Wonder), Marco Hietala (Nightwish), and of course Arjen Lucassen himself. ...It WAS supposed to feature Russell Allen, one of my top 3 favorite singers, but he bailed for some reason. I was p gutted when that was announced, but Tommy Karevik is one of my top 3 as well, so I think I will survive (the other of the 3 being Mikael Akerfeldt if anyone is curious. He's featured in some Ayreon works as well but he won't be at this show unfortunately). For those who haven't heard of Ayreon, it's a musical group with the music written by Arjen, featuring many high-end talented vocalists and instrumentalists, mostly in the realm of progressive and power metal. Basically they are one of the most amazing musical groups of all time, imo, but highly underrated/not super well-known for what they do.. I mean shit, if I'm going to pay thousands to make a trip around seeing them, I must reaaaally like them haha. The furthest I have ever traveled to see a band before was like, 2 hours driving? Sooo, this is kinda a big deal. XD

We'll be going through Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Tilburg, and Bochum. Our trip is Sep. 6-19.

So I'll be having a table at FC this year - table #30 in the West room! (the smaller one) I'll be selling prints, a few at-con bust badges & sketches, and 10 take-home commission slots! Slots are all first-come, first-served so be sure to catch me on Friday if you're interested in any of them :)

This is my first FC table and my 2nd ever con table (the first being BLFC 2016 in the Bazaar). I will be taking reprieves from my table a time or two per day, so if I'm not there it will be either captainlametastic or my boyfriend sitting in for me.

My car is in for repairs and it's going to cost more than I thought so despite my originally not wanted to have to do work right before FC I feel I must XD I enjoy doing badges anyway and wanna do more :P

It might be too early for this but oh well. At any rate I can try opening again in a couple weeks if need be, but I personally don't like working under time pressure XD

Hey all, I'll be taking 3 slots for Halloween icons for now. $30 each. These are like my favorite commissions to do ever and they only come once a year. If I don't seem too thrilled it's because I'm not feeling the Halloween spirit yet tbh though (hopefully soon!) so I'm just going to take 3 slots for now, and if I can get them done in a timely manner I will take more. I'll try to get them done in the next week or so though. Hopefully when I get started I will start to feel the Halloween spirit more, haha. Also this month is gonna be really busy for me, so I don't want to take on too much x3

Well, guess I thought I should write a journal since it's been quite a while XD

Well I've been working at Chipotle since the beginning of summer, which barely keeps me afloat financially.. if I had not made the money I made at my table at BLFC I would be screwed. I have been coasting off of that money. x_x I have been only working like 13-20 hours a week. I enjoy it though most days. It keeps me on my toes, that's for sure. I like jobs like that.

I'm just waiting for my background check to come back so I can get my substitute teaching credential. Then I will start subbingas well a few days a week. I'm preeeetty fucking nervous about that. Being in charge of a whole classroom of 30ish students? Lord help me. I have no idea how I will handle it, but if there's one thing I've learned in life it's to do the things that scare you and make you uncomfortable. It might suck ass at first and be hella stressful but I need to start figuring out if teaching is a career I want to pursue, and I can't do that without testing out running a regular ed classroom (I've worked in special ed for a few years now which is WAY different from mainstream ed haha).

I'm also now in a relationship for the first time in over 4 years. Omg wut. With someone who's been one of my best friends for years. Never saw this happening, that's for sure lol. So yeah that's where a lot of my free time goes as well.

Anyway yeah, just saying I'm alive. Even though I don't have a lot of commissions in my queue I'm gonna keep it that way to save room for HALLOWEEN ICONS. Yaaaaaay! I love doing these every year haha. Well this will be my third year doing them, but yeah!

Okay so! As you may know, last weekend I had a dealer's table at a con for the first time, at BLFC! Despite being in an obscure corner of the dealer's den in the Bazaar (in front of that blasted hidden step everyone and their mom tripped over XD), it went really well! It warmed my heart to hear so many compliments on my work, I loved meeting all the new people I got to meet, and the amount of prints I sold was just about perfect! I sold out of a lot of my print options, but was left with about 10 prints at the end. So fortunately it was pretty good estimation on my part! I was nervous because it was my first time having a table, but it turned out to be a very pleasant experience! Only one complaint is I couldn't go out and do fun things during dealing hours, and I had to miss the dance comp, but I heard that wasn't that great this year anyway, so eh! So yeah, def will deal again some time! :)

Thank you to everyone who came by and bought prints, commissions, or just to chat! I apologize if on the 2nd and 3rd day I was hyper-focused on finishing my at-con commissions and wasn't as friendly. I'm not used to doing traditional art or working on a time-crunch so I was pretty focused on getting them done.

If you ordered a take-home commission from me, you've been added to the queue in the link at the top of this journal. I should have everyone there but if I somehow forgot anyone, please let me know! I'll be contacting people a few at a time to get further info if needed. Not necessarily in the order in the list.. just by order of what I feel like working on, really.

Update pretty similar to my last one but with a tad more detail.

Just letting you guys know I think it's safe to say I'm going through a temporary phase where I've become really disinterested in the furry community in general. I'm SURE this is just temporary so don't panic. I have been really putting off responding to people or talking to people as well on here in a timely manner, so for that I apologize.

I've been going through something a bit of a personal nature that's been putting me all out of whack and really messing with my head for several weeks now. Tbh, sort of the reason all my art lately has been more of a dark nature. It started when this thing did, so I can only assume it's due to this. I won't discuss it publicly but if you think we're close and you're curious feel free to ask me privately. I will be fine. I always am. I've been reviewing some books on mindfulness that will hopefully help.

I have however been working on BLFC stuff.

I haven't made a post about this, and I should soon, but I will be sharing a table with icykat at BLFC!! This will be the first time either of us will be hosting a table ever, so we are both a bit clueless and nervous haha. We will be doing collaboration badge commissions at-con. We won't take too many just so we don't overwork ourselves. We'll be selling prints and I will be doing sketch commissions as well.

Hey, so just thought I ought to explain that I'm going through a phase where I haven't been wanting to do commission work for a while, and I only feel like doing personal art. I know I don't NEED to explain myself per se, cause it's my life and my art, just wanted to explain why, if I've been avoidant whenever someone asks me about commissions, etc. I'm sorry for that if you're someone I've blown off. I feel bad whenever I do it but I just.. don't like the idea of commissions right now. My art flow has been very slow lately as is and when I do feel like drawing, I want to do something entirely my own, experimental etc. Which is something I need for my own art growth anyhow. And I still need more prints for BLFC, haha I'm up to 5 now, woohoo! When I started 2 monthsish ago I only had um.. 1 or 2 so I was kinda freaking out. I at least have a somewhat safe minimum number now, but I wanna get a couple more in before BLFC if possible.

I dunno when this phase will be over, but yeah, just letting you guys know.

Other than that life has been looking up lately (I haven't spoken of it here but I've been having a rough several months ever since moving back here from Australia back in late 2015). I have an interview for a 2nd job next week, a tattoo getting started in a month, and a lot of events like concerts and stuff coming up in the next 2 months, so that all has put me in a lighter state of mind, thankfully :)

I'm going out of town for the next few days, so I'll be getting badges printed next Friday, so hopefully I'll have them all done by that time. If not then I will just save what's unfinished for a separate batch. Then I just need to do badges for my FC roommates.

Not going out of town now because I pulled an epic fail and forgot my wallet on the way to the airport and rescheduling tickets was going to cost way too much. So uhh I should def have the badges done in the next few days (other than the ones for my FC roommates, which are only a priority after I finish my feetpaws), and will print them some day this week.

Sorry but 7 out of the 8 badges I have taken are canines and I really would like to draw something else ;__; Also no more full-bodies, unless they are chibis! Sorry. I want to keep things light just in case, since the con is just a few weeks away.

Exceptions would be if you are a pretty idiosyncratic canid species, like a fennec fox or something.

I've had FC planned since last year's and had a hotel booked and everything so it's not that I am disorganized. But my friend I was going with has had a lot of financial troubles pile up all at once and has to back out. Which makes me really sad because she is my only good furry friend who is going, other than icykat (who is not going either). And now I basically need to adopt some new friends that I barely know.. :\

I haven't had the chance to make fur friends here in the states yet (I made tons over in Australia) so I don't know where to turn.

I would really like it if I could room with people that I am at least familiar with over FA, or whatever. But I know as it's so close to con time my chances are probably slim and I would have to just room with random people. :\ Which is such a gamble. I am a bit worried but I will make the best of it.

Anyway, if you are an artist that I know, that's a big plus. I am an artist of course, and a partial suiter. I'm clean and respectful, laid back and open-minded. I am a prude so I def won't be hooking up in your room. lol. I don't smoke, but I don't care if you do. I drink but I keep good control of myself and don't go overboard especially in unfamiliar settings. I am usually pretty quiet but I plan on socializing a lot here because I would like to make a lot of US fur friends.

Someone please adopt me?? ;____; I planned on being there Thursday-Monday, if possible.

If I get more than one response I will have to choose one of course. Please don't be offended if you're not chosen. It makes me nervous having to room with random people I've never met so I am in a tough spot at the moment and want to go with whom I think I will feel the most comfortable.

Because I have some last commissions/slots I've promised Aussie friends, and Khamisu fursuit 2.0 is happening.

Half of the point tbh is so I can meet people at FC haha.. because I hardly know any local furs. You're not obligated to hang out with me by any means but it would just be nice to meet some people. Because at the last FC I failed and met literally like 3 people.. XD
