Update
Posted 9 years agoI haven't posted any updates here in such a loooong time apart from a very few posts on stuff.
I really need to start posting here more often. So it's August already and we are nearly once again coming to another new year.
I have been quite busy mostly with real life stuff, mostly campaigning and activism for animal rights and anti-austerity and other things.
Hope everyone is well.

Independence Day
Posted 9 years agoHappy Independence Day to my American friends on here
Devastated
Posted 9 years agoI am devastated at the result of the EU Referendum. The whole country is split and the result is a victory for the racist and xenophobic far-right. I fear for all the human rights and animal welfare laws what will be affected.
EU Ref -latest
Posted 9 years agoWell I hope you Brexiters are happy. We will now get Boris as PM, the far right will now take over and Scotland will become independent and both the UK and the EU will be completely fucked. Bravo. Bravo.
Referendum Day
Posted 9 years agoWell today is the big day for the UK who have their vote on whether to remain or leave the EU. I have already voted early this morning and my vote is Remain. I believe we will be better remaining in the EU instead of a self-governed far-right wing Tory UK, which will make things a lot worse if we leave and will cause riots and stuff also.
EU Referendum - thoughts
Posted 9 years agoRight, up till now I have been undecided on this whole EU Referendum debate. I am disgusted and sick at the whole racist attitudes of people seen on Question Time and BBC related news programmes etc. Immigration, immigration, immigration. Why don't you all fuck off? As if it is the only thing what matters, it's pathetic. Tbh, that is the least of my concerns and I have no problems with it whatsoever.
I do not want to be any part of that group of people and I will be voting Remain in favour of refugees as well as for disabled people and for the animals. I am appalled overall as to how this campaign has progressed and I fear this is going to turn very ugly after the 23rd whatever the result is. The murder of Jo Cox has shown just how dangerous this whole debate has become and then that disgraceful poster from UKIP not long after also.

Discord
Posted 9 years agoIs anyone here on Discord? I only know a few people on there and am only in one little server. I would like to join more servers but Discord's way of doing things means you need codes and stuff just to access them. Would like to know what good servers are about and access codes too.
Update
Posted 9 years agoHi guys, how is everyone? I haven't posted much on here for a while and haven't really commented much on anything either.
I'm still here on a regular basis though. I'm good. We are now halfway through 2016 already and this year has been pretty good so far. I've been out and about mostly doing vegan/animal rights stuff and got a lot more stuff coming up the following weeks also.
Hope everyone is well. I will try and start posting more here again.

Another routine shooting
Posted 9 years agoHere we go again. Another mass shooting on American soil. When is this going to stop? It's awful seeing this on the news all the time. It's about time the second amendment was repealed. It is outdated and has no relevance today.
However, this shooting seems to be a lot more different to previous ones as this has been directly targeted at one particular group.
Homophobia is a big problem in society and I am appalled at the attitude towards it particularly certain people in my own family. This goes far beyond just this particular event as attitudes in general is disgusting.
We are in 2016, when are we going to evolve as a species and be accepting of all people and all living things as a whole.

Fuck the zoo
Posted 9 years agoI'm really pissed off. I was really upset and angry to hear about Harambe the gorilla who was shot dead at Cincinatti Zoo yesterday all because of a child who got into its enclosure.
The gorilla was not harming the child and was apparently protecting him moments before he was shot.
The parents also were very neglectful to allow their child time to get into the enclosure.
I've been reading up a lot on this story and it really breaks my heart. I hate stories like this and I wish zoos in general were finished with permanently. Gorillas and other animals belong in the wild, not behind closed doors.

Domesticating foxes
Posted 9 years agoOkay, I've had some time to think about this and it is something what has been bugging me some time. This goes out to those particularly in the furry fandom.
Now I was recently made aware of some person on Youtube who had kept a fox as a pet and there are people who are advocating domesticating foxes like dogs and cats.
Let me just say this, foxes are wild animals and should be left as such. The era of domestication should come to an end. There is a difference between a tame fox and having it domesticated and it causes damage to their wild habits and habitats.
As someone who cares about animals and animal rights, I absolutely find it deplorable there are people who think its okay that foxes can be bought online as pets. The sale of living creatures online itself is totally wrong, whatever animal they may be.
What kind of person goes and takes a wild animal then sells it online?
It's sick and it is disgusting.
Leave these beautiful animals alone, they are not meant for pets. They are meant for the wild.

One month vegan
Posted 9 years agoSo it has been a whole month now since I became vegan and am very proud of it. I made a few mistakes I must admit but I'm not angry or upset about it. Still a lot to learn and intend to carry on the best way I can.
Another shitty driving lesson
Posted 9 years agoJust finished another lesson. It was a little better than last week considering I was away from the busy roads but still not enough progress.
I had a discussion about it and my disabilities too with my instructor and she like myself believes this is a problem what could take a very long time to fix. Speed and positioning are the main problems.
I also said that it isn't essential and it is only something what I'd like to do.
I got one more lesson to go on my block booking but don't think I will carry on afterwards.
Don't feel like wasting money or getting myself stressed over.

Driving update
Posted 9 years agoSo I not long just had a driving lesson and it went really bad. Steering/positioning all over the place and I didn't realise I was off at times. Speed control quite bad also. My instructor said I was not ready for the busy roads yet and next lesson, going back to the quiet roads. I got a few hours left from my block booking but not sure whether to carry on with it afterwards.
Got theory test next Tuesday and even if I do pass, not sure if it's going to do any good on actual driving.
Will see what happens though.

World Day for Animals in Laboratories
Posted 9 years agoWell I had a fantastic time in Manchester for the World Day for Animals in Laboratories. My first AR related demo in about three years. I've done a few "[insert city] against the Badger Cull" marches but that's all I've done.
Haven't been to any since. Now that I have reimbraced my beliefs and fully transitioned to veganism, I feel a lot more comfortable going on these sort of things. I fully intend to learn a lot more about the AR movement and attend more demos.
Great people also. I found these a lot more interesting than the Anti-Trident and the People's Assembly marches mainly due to the fact it is almost exclusively vegan and AR friendly.

I watched Earthlings
Posted 9 years agoI survived the week
Posted 9 years agoSo I have lasted a whole week as a vegan and am quite impressed. I have now just joined The Vegan Society and hope to carry on improving myself as a person and adapt my lifestyle in the best way I can.
Why I Became Vegan
Posted 9 years agoBREAKING NEWS!!
Posted 9 years agoThree years ago I tried becoming vegetarian, something I really struggled with at the time and lasted six months. I ended up going back to meat, something I was not proud of but the meat cravings and what-have-you were so bad and was getting so skinny.
A few weeks ago, I decided to have another go and this time, feel more determined to succeed. However I now intend to take this to the next step.
Unlike last time, I am a lot more better in my food options and have done tons of research through various webpages and Youtube videos.
As of today, 11th April 2016, I am officially vegan. No going back from now on and I will stay committed to it.

Best speech you will ever hear
Posted 9 years agoThis lecture is really interesting. All about the ethics of veganism. This man is very knowledgable and knows what he's talking about. The video is over an hour long but is worth watching if you got a lot of time. I'm so glad I watched this. Makes you think..

This really pisses me off
Posted 9 years agoI just found out some shocking facts what I did not realise beforehand. I was browsing through the Animal Rights UK page and found an image what depicts lots of little chicks being sent to a grinder. That shocked me to the core. I have done some research into this and the truths what I saw really made me tense up and really think.
This is the first article I read: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/…/40-m.....n-conveyor-…
I then had a look at this also: http://www.theguardian.com/…/f….....-are-your-eggs
How the fuck did I not know about this? I really hope Quorn is paying attention to this kind of barbaric activity. If this is what happens, then I have eaten my last egg.
Although I am a vegetarian, I am still consuming dairy. However I am not going to buy or eat any more eggs if this is what happens.
Fuck that.

One week later
Posted 9 years agoSo I have lasted a full week now without any meat whatsoever and I feel great because of it. This is my second try at doing this however as I ended up going back to meat a few years ago after six months of being veggie. This time, I don't intend on going back.
I had actually previously thought about it many years ago although I was living with people back then who criticised me for it. Now I am fully independent and more strong-minded, I can now focus on the things what really matter.
This actually started when I was in my early to mid teens when I started questioning the use of animal testing and the fur trade and other similar things. This was when my mum was still alive actually.
I have now been looking at several sources as to how to get all the proper nutrients and in the process, have discovered many ingredients what I had never even heard of beforehand.
Instead of eating out like I used to do a lot, I am going to get some recipes and cook more as well as try living cruelty-free as much as I can.

Zootropolis (Zootopia)
Posted 9 years agoI watched Zootropolis (Zootopia) earlier today in the cinema. It's quite a good movie and very entertaining.
Take Two
Posted 9 years agoI talk about vegetarianism and animal rights. Going to give this another go since I have been neglecting this the past few years, which I really struggled with first time round.
