Posted 10 years agoJust heard that David Bowie has died. So sad and shocked to hear this. One of the greatest musicians of all time well known for his various aliases such as Ziggy Stardust and his space themed albums. Dead at 69.
The intelligence of pokemon
Posted 10 years agoI like to think that pokemon in general, well most of them but not all, are probably a lot more intelligent than they are made out to be in the games and anime. The anime portrays them as being more intelligent than in the games but I like to think of them as more like how they are in the Mystery Dungeon series to some extent.
This would apply mostly to those living in the forests, mountains or extreme wild territories as well as legendaries. Many wild areas could be so deep that hardly any humans have encountered them and these are where pokemon have probably had time to develop rich communities where different species of pokemon reside in.
I believe the Mystery Dungeon series could exist within the main series universe although in areas what are blocked off from humans. I think pokemon do in fact talk like they do in Mystery Dungeon but it is only humans who cannot hear it. They instead hear them say their names apart from a lucky few who have been blessed with the gift of understanding pokemon from Arceus himself.
These highly intelligent pokemon mostly look out for one another and will expel those who betray their trust. Most pokemon are aware of humans but do not like them much so will do whatever they can to deter them. If they have to, they will not hesitate to capture any wandering human. If the human is too dangerous, the pokemon will kill them.
Like with people however, there are good pokemon and bad pokemon all by their own free will. Pokemon are not bad to the point of how certain people are like Team Rocket or Team Galactic but I think pokemon do still commit bad things by choice such as steal, lie, trick, kidnap or even kill particularly against humans. But no taking over the world or anything like that. It is people like Team Rocket who are the usual targets for pokemon to act against.
There is no such thing as a 4 move limit like the games and to some extent now, the anime claims. The word move is a bit ambiguous in fact. Pokemon can have as many moves as their bodies take, particularly those what are physical moves where they can learn many different attacks. Tackle is the most basic attack any pokemon should learn and all pokemon should be able to learn Tackle. It is probably the first move they are taught by each other or their parents. Special moves are different and varies depending on what elemental type a certain pokemon is.

How do I make my LP videos so that my voice can be heard? I have played back bits of my videos and I find that my voice is a bit quiet most of the time and is drowned out by the gameplay audio. I record through the in-built microphone and the speakers set to 60%.
I try recording LP videos and can't get my voice to be heard loudly. I even done a test video with the system volume at 30% and my voice is still really quiet. Do I really have to shout or what? How do I solve this?

Scarpine
Scarpine is a blue dragon lord of peace of happiness. He is very loyal and caring to his friends and cares very much for the survival of his species. He is very sad and disgusted at the discrimination and stereotypes of dragons. He comes from a world rich in dragons and other species. He hates war and fighting and would like the universe to all get along. He will however fight an enemy who is a threat to him or his kind if needed be and fight to the death he will. Scarpine will destroy those who threaten the dragon race and won't show any mercy. One thing he hates more than anything is evil and will do whatever it takes to remove such evil from his world.
Ozrane
A reptilian alien of the Nilothian race from the planet Niloth about 4,000 light years from Earth. He has the title “Lord” in front of his name and he is the leader of his race and lives in a temple on his home planet. He dislikes humans and believes them to be a destructive and violent race. He has dealt with potential human settlers before and has his followers capture them for interrogation and imprisonment. If he thinks they are too dangerous, he will have them executed. Luckily for those who are captured, this is very rare. However, it still doesn't mean they will get to be released so easily. If a human gets caught by Nilothian guards, they can expect a long time in Ozrane's temple dungeons. Ozrane wants to keep Niloth and his people safe and he does not believe humans can be trusted so will order his men to grab any human on the planet and bring them to the temple to be dealt with.
Mespet
Ozrane's chief henchman and minion. A bit taller than Ozrane, Mespet is a darker skinned Nilothian. He is intelligent and always gives Ozrane advice if needed. He is skilled in unarmed combat.
Mario FCs
Monty
A hammer brother from Vibe Island. He works mostly outside of Bowser's castle and only appears at certain times when important missions come up. He takes missions very seriously and will ensure they are done to perfection. He is the commander of a group of about twenty hammer brothers what he has personally handpicked and trained himself. As leader, it is his responsibility to ensure his squad are fit for purpose and their well-being is kept in check. Monty is highly intelligent, quick and strong. He has taken it upon himself to train both himself and his troops in unarmed combat what can be for the most part, a lot more effective than simply throwing hammers. This form of training helps him to overpower and capture enemies very easily.
Milo
A duplighost working for Bowser. Like all duplighosts, he has the power to shapeshift into anyone he chooses. He acts as a spy in various places to obtain information for Bowser while hiding his appearance to be able to get access to places he wouldn't be able to in his normal form. He can also use his abilities to pretend to be any of the Mario brothers or their friends but captures them first so they don't interfere. If Mario or anyone is missing, Milo poses as them so the missing/captured is not found.
Charlie Wilson
A human who stumbled across the Mushroom Kingdom through a random pipe in a similar way to how the Mario Brothers discovered it. He had been originally captured and imprisoned by the Koopas when he was walking around the koopa kingdom and was thought to be a spy. He was later released when he was proven innocent. Having been back and forth for a bit in between the Mushroom and Koopa Kingdoms, Charlie now works in Bowser's Castle as an arms supplier/trader in one of the castle's lower floor rooms. He also fits the weapons together as well as designing and building wands and similar weapons what is later traded to members of the koopa empire. Most koopas don't trust him for the simple fact he is human but Charlie doesn't let it bother him. He has his reasons for helping them and he does not like the Mario Brothers much.
Pokemon FCs
Blaze
Blaze is a Wartortle originally coming from a tight-knit community of Squirtle and Wartortle in the western part of a forest south of Johto. He is very protective of his community and his friends. He does not like humans much and with the help of his friends, will try and keep humans away from them and if needed, will set up traps to capture them and use them as hostages or will kill them if they are dangerous enough. Blaze also hates his evolved form as much as he hates humans and refuses to evolve into Blastoise and has much pride in the Wartortle race.
Sunny
A Raichu who is also Blaze's best friend. Sunny was born to a Pikachu family within the forest where he resides. He is a very agile pokemon and also takes pride in his kind and of being a pokemon. He comes from the same forest as Blaze although originated in another section.
Vernon and Fraser
Vernon and Fraser are a duo of Team Rocket agents. They are very dangerous and loyal to Giovanni. They are also murderers and will not hesitate to kill anyone, human and pokemon, who gets in their way. They see Pokemon as tools for Team Rocket's global dominance and other pokemon trainers as inferior and unworthy of being “true” pokemon trainers. They aim to destroy all Pokemon Centers and other places they see as pointless. They have murdered many people and pokemon during their campaign and are utterly more dangerous than a lot of other TR members. Several other pokemon are aware of this and begin plotting against them to end their reign of terror. The good humans try to have them arrested but the pokemon have other ideas and an operation led by Blaze ultimately leads with both Fraser and Verson being killed in seperate incidents. Their bodies are never found and the pokemon made sure that they remained missing making the humans think they just disappeared.
Spencer
Spencer is a human who has the ability to understand pokemon language. He is an explorer and Pokemon protector who resides in a base deep in a forest. The pokemon are aware of his abilities and sense he has a different aura to most other pokemon. He is of a small group of humans known as “Emeralds” who all can understand Pokemon and also are more in tune with the Pokemon World. He can notice things what other humans can't such as sensing changes in the Pokemon World's atmosphere or seismic activity, etc. He has yet to meet anyone else with the same abilities but an event what has yet to happen will bring them together. During his incarceration at the hands of Blaze and a bunch of other human hating pokemon, Spencer learned many secrets of the pokemon world.

Ben is a human who is part of a Pokemon Rights group who believes in freedom for all pokemon. He is a strong believer that pokemon can be more intelligent than many people believe them to be and capable of many things so does not agree with battling. He despises Team Rocket and blames them for why many pokemon don't like humans. Ben actively travels the pokemon world and helps those who are in need.
Power Rangers OCs
Professor Robert Coleman
In an alternate MMPR-PRiS timeline, Robert Coleman is a university lecturer in chemistry and astrobiology from Stone Canyon. He is aware that there are beings out there other than on Earth and tries to learn all he can when the news of Rita's, etc existence comes to Earth. He learns of Dark Specter and other factions long before the Power Rangers do from unofficial sources.

Create a Dragon
Posted 10 years agoI'm looking for some dragon creator sites as I want to be able to show off my OC Scarpine but I can't draw at all. I'm a writer, not a drawrer. I especially cannot draw things like dragons although have had a go at it.
I have seen this site what looks good but not sure if it is effective enough to making a good enough dragon.

Some news on character OCs/FCs
Posted 10 years agoI will be rewriting a lot of my character bios sometime, what I rediscovered from an old journal from last year along with the one in my COTKE journal. I plan to make them a lot more detailed and interesting and want to include much more backstory on most of them as I can. I will start on this when I complete Bowser's Victory.
Forgiveness
Posted 10 years agoIn my first journal for 2016, I am going to say I want to forgive a lot of people who had previously caused me a lot of trouble on DA and other places. They may not deserve it but in order for me to be able to make a full recovery and move on properly, I have no choice but to forgive them even if they do not do the same in return.
2013 was the build-up to what happened in 2014. 2014 was the year of hell, 2015 was the year of awesome things with minor stuff going on as a result of 2014.
2016 will be a much better year and this forgiveness for everyone who took part in the 2013/14 bad times and causing my depression/anxiety will be the start of an even more awesome year than 2015.
Hope 2016 brings everyone good things.

New Year's Resolutions
Posted 10 years agoWith a successful year almost over, I have come up with some things I want to do to make next year even better. Things I want to do are:
1) Travel more including going to have a go at some trips abroad for the first time ever
2) Cook more and make the effort to make more recipes instead of eating out or getting takeaways a lot like I have been doing lately
3) Make more Youtube videos and talk about stuff what I really care about as well as more LP videos
4) Write more fanfic and more character and fandom theories
5) Completely rid myself of idiots who are in no way good enough for me
6) Focus on this identity and totally rid myself of the name I used to be known as
7) Read and write more

Star Wars question
Posted 10 years agoI am just interested to know are there any Star Wars fans here who collect the books or comics, etc? Of course, these are known as the Expanded Universe. I never really got into this but have read some of them. My question is do you think these are canon or real, shall we say? I, personally, do like the movies but don't take the fandom too seriously to say everything from the books or comics or even the games are canon.
Episode 7 for example basically killed off the EU with Disney explicitally saying it is not canon. What do you guys think?

2015 review
Posted 10 years agoThis year has overall been a pretty awesome year for me and I have really enjoyed it and all my experiences. Not too much to say but that it has been a pretty dram-free year for me and nothing bad to report unless you count all the other bad stuff on the news.
Anyway the most significant change to me is getting more involved with Grapevine's projects such as the H team and the Self Advocacy project. H stands for Health so I work with health professionals and health students and help them communicate better with people with learning disabilities. Self-Advocacy is basically that and I help with campaigning for disability rights and stuff like that. I have also very recently become a rep as part of the Learning Disability Partnership Board what happens every two months at the Council House in Coventry.
Also, I have begun to start doing Youtube videos, what I like to refer to as a multi-purpose channel and not for any particular purpose. I use it for Let's Plays, general talk on the news, movie reviews, etc. Some of these I have not done as much but hope to get more involved with this in the new year.
So overall, this year has been a good success and looking forward to another successful year in 2016.

Just an idea
Posted 10 years agoSo I read a little bit more into the idea of Yooka-Laylee, the proposed game for next year across multiple consoles. I have read that it is being made by Playtonic, what I just found out is a bunch of people who were prominent in the Rareware days. These are people who made the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark and Conker's Bad Fur Day, well known games, all of which are among my favourite games of all time.
My idea is what if Playtonic, which has the same people as Rare or Rareware, whatever you want to call it could gain the rights of the Donkey Kong games and be able to produce high quality games again and bring back the kremlings. As well as other new titles, this would be good if this could happen. It might even make Nintendo great again. Or at least just the Donkey Kong Country franchise.
My idea is what if Playtonic, which has the same people as Rare or Rareware, whatever you want to call it could gain the rights of the Donkey Kong games and be able to produce high quality games again and bring back the kremlings. Posted 10 years agoThe third revamp of this idea of mine is coming back. I have not figured out a full script yet for a full fanfic though. This is just some ideas and some episode summaries I have thought of. I imagine it as a kind of TV series expanding through several seasons. The title may just be a working title and it's a name I have stuck with although could change if I can think of a better title.
I imagine it to be a multi-season series with 26 episodes in each season with each episode lasting for roughly 30 minutes.
This is my current cast list: (May edit if I can think of more info for each character or if I add more characters)
KOOPAS
Royal Koopas
Bowser
The main character and the star of the show. The king of the koopa kingdom. He is a tough ruler who expects complete loyalty from his minions and orders to be followed with completion. He wants nothing more than to rule the Mushroom Kingdom and imprison the Mario brothers. He also wants to marry Peach.
Ludwig von Koopa
The eldest of Bowser's children collectively known as the koopalings and the rightful heir to the throne. Ludwig is very intelligent and very skilled at a lot of things. Larry Koopa
Larry works as a spy with other troops and is as sneaky as he is clever. He also helped Ludwig in the planning stages of the development of the Doomship as well as Ludwig's other projects. As a spy, Larry reports back to high ranking troops who in turn report to Bowser secret information.
Roy Koopa
The toughest and strongest of the koopalings, Roy is the second eldest of the koopalings. He doesn't take crap from no-one and will defend his siblings at all costs. He is able to restrain his enemies and trespassers with ease. Roy has a stomp what can paralyse enemies making them immobile giving him an advantage over them.
Morton Koopa Jr
Morton, like Roy, is quite tough although not as strong as his elder brother but is strong enough to keep his enemies in control. Morton's siblings find him annoying and his big mouth can get him in trouble at times and he can find himself to be a liability but they all still love him nevertheless.
Wendy O Koopa
Being the only girl among her siblings can make Wendy feel left out at times but she gets by. Usually seen with either Morton or Larry, she ends up on various missions doing different things. She is probably closer to Bowser than the rest of her siblings and is a real daddy's girl.
Iggy and Lemmy Koopa
These twins are hardly ever seen apart from each other. They are the youngest of the koopalings. They help each other out when problems arise and always fight together too.
Minions
Monty
Monty is a high ranking hammer brother hailing from Vibe Island. He is the supreme commander of a group of elite hammer brothers personally handpicked by Monty himself. He is a long serving member of the koopa empire and is a freelancer along with his troops so will only end up on a mission on Bowser's orders on certain occasions. Otherwise he works alone or with his men on his own missions.
Milo
A duplighost who is able to transform himself perfectly into other unsuspecting people. The only problem is he cannot fully match their personalities although he is still learning. One thing he can do very good though is capture those he intends to impersonate and ensure they cannot do anything by tying them up, gagging them and hiding them away where they can't be found.
Buzz and Scott Koopa
Two junior hammer brothers who are quite new to the koopa empire. They want to impress Bowser and they want to make it their mission to personally capture Mario and bring him to Bowser alive. They are never usually successful. They try and come up with all sorts of plans to trap Mario although are usually foiled each time.

Mario
The so-called hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. Having arrived in this world through a warp pipe in Brooklyn, Mario has gained the affection of Peach, his girlfriend who gets captured by Bowser a lot but he always saves her. He is also the target of many kidnap attempts from the Koopas but manages to escape. He can be quite arrogant and has quite an ego.
Luigi
Mario's brother who is not as confident as his older brother. He is also quite jealous of Mario and the attention he gets. He doesn't like conflict and surrenders too easily when the Koopas come to get him.
Peach
The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and Mario's girlfriend. She is also in a love triangle with Bowser who is trying to steal her affections.
Oscar
The Mushroom King and Peach's father. He is a racist and stubborn king who rules his kingdom with an iron fist. He is a hero to the Toads but the Koopas are aware of his true personality and will do whatever it takes to end his reign.
Charlie Wilson
A regular human from the real world. He is also quite clever and has studied a lot of the histories of the Mushroom and Koopa Kingdoms. He lives in Toad Town but is secretly in league with the Koopas although most of the Koopas don't know it.

I imagine it to be a multi-season series with 26 episodes in each season with each episode lasting for roughly 30 minutes.

Bowser
The main character and the star of the show. The king of the koopa kingdom. He is a tough ruler who expects complete loyalty from his minions and orders to be followed with completion. He wants nothing more than to rule the Mushroom Kingdom and imprison the Mario brothers. He also wants to marry Peach.
Ludwig von Koopa
The eldest of Bowser's children collectively known as the koopalings and the rightful heir to the throne. Ludwig is very intelligent and very skilled at a lot of things. The Three Kings
Posted 10 years agoNope, it's not what you think. Despite the title, I am not talking about the "Three Kings" as such but I am talking about three very different kings. They are in fact Bowser, Dedede and K. Rool. The three Nintendo kings who have have introduced and made their style of villainy quite fun and interesting.
Unlike most villains such as Ganon(dorf), these three seem to show some form of goodness and have their moments. I do not know too much about Dedede but from what I have seen, he shares the same qualities as Bowser and K. Rool.
They all have castles, which they reside and all have their own group of minions what are loyal to them and who worship them.
Bowser is the only one who seems to have a family as neither K. Rool or Dedede have been shown to have families.
The cartoon version of K. Rool seems to be better than the game version as I've not actually seen much development in the game version of him other than his "Super Show" style aliases. His henchman Klump and Krusha in the cartoon seem pretty cool also and do not seem intent on hurting anyone.
In contrast, the game version of Bowser is better than the cartoon version of King Koopa who is portrayed as a mean, Scrooge like bully who only cares about himself who at one point said "forget the kingdom, I just want to save my own scaly skin". Bowser on the other hand would never say or do something like that.
I still have to research Dedede more as I have not played enough of Kirby or seen the anime/cartoon to make much decisions on him. Seen a few Wiki articles though.
All in all, I can imagine these three teaming up in a Smash-like game whenever K. Rool is brought back and ganging up on their enemies.

The three kings all deserve to have more recognition and have more of their own games.

Posted 10 years agoWTF is this Bayonetta character? Sick of all these Fire Emblem characters and clones appearing in Smash. This is devastating news. A character what no one has even heard of gets #1 in the vote while K. Rool, a more deserving character never gets a look in. I call bullshit.
I don't even play Smash but I do care about characters and K. Rool's treatment these past 10-15 years or so is pathetic. It would be like scrapping Bowser without a second thought and you cannot do that to a well established character.
It's just like what happened with the koopalings and I remember full well the campaign done by Lemmy's Land many years ago to bring back the koopalings.
I have recently discovered the Kremling Kampaign in various places to do the same thing for K. Rool and the kremlings. This is just not on and I fully intend to take part in this campaign just as I did with the koopalings.
I don't even play Smash but I do care about characters and K. Rool's treatment these past 10-15 years or so is pathetic. It would be like scrapping Bowser without a second thought and you cannot do that to a well established character.

Kremlings and Koopas
Posted 10 years agoI don't particularly like crossovers much and like to show characters from different franchises in their own respective universes. However I have been thinking and have thought of the connections between two of my favourite gaming species, koopas and kremlings.
Now as you probably know, I have always considered the DKC franchise to be more of a Rare franchise than Nintendo despite DK's origins. And I am very disappointed at the treatment of the DKC franchise post-Rare and the absence of the kremlings.
Anyway, another species what I love and one of the earliest fandoms I got into is that of koopas. Not Mario but just koopas.
I had thought of a Koopa/Kremling based crossover a few times. I do think they may or may not be based on the same planet although a long way from each other. Probably about the same distance between the UK and Australia roughly with a large ocean separating them.
Culturally, koopas and kremlings are very similar. The fact that both of their species begin with K is just one. The use of K instead of C at the start of words is more prominent with the kremlings with it being used in various things such as the kremling breeds themselves, place names and various weaponry.
Koopas also have a wide range of weapons, although probably not as effective as the kremlings.
Koopas and kremlings are both reptiles while Bowser and K. Rool share some physical similarities as well as similar personalities. Both have a wide range of different kinds of koopas and kremlings serving them. Bowser and K. Rool are both kings.
Both have castles largely built as a home for the respective kinds. The castles are both very different but serve the same purpose. It is also a military base as well as a home for troops, prisoners and guests.
It is also possible that K.Rool and Bowser probably know each other although rarely see each other. They probably share intelligence information by various means of contact.

Feeling better now
Posted 10 years agoI am feeling much better now but still don't know whether I can trust this other person properly again. I have already fallen out with her before and am wondering if I can trust her ever again after some of the things she said.
