My insurance is denying my request for a new long-term wheelchair. Hell they are refusing the most basic one.

I am home and I am recovering. But that's going poorly. My back is leaking alot. I am back in alot of pain. And I have no idea if I will be getting another implant.
Also probably no wheelchair or walker. Fuck my life. Still in Hospital

First off:
Me and Nickada have bought a HOUSE!
Ok. Here is the story. About 2 months ago our shower leaked thru the ceiling into the kitchen, again, for the God's know how many times now. So as per normal we alerted our landlord. He sent out the maintenance guy a few days later. So he showed up and Nikki was the one to answer the door and let's him in..... While I was coming down the stairs, on my ass as per normal, he stood there in the living room. Talking for.10 minutes.... and then left. He didn't do shit. That was the last straw.
So she, a friend, and I finally decided to check to see if we could get a home. And it turned out that she had a good credit, and that a USDA loan was avaliable to her. So we got the ball rolling, and found a few houses. The first one was crappy, and too close to a rail yard. The next one was amazing but sadly too far out of our range. And the third was a bit small, but all the right things. A bathroom I could get in without getting out of my wheelchair, a nice open kitchen with Dishwasher, and a nice backyard with a fence and shed.
So we jumped on it. With the inspection turned out a few things needed fixed. The seller covered most of the biggest ones. And we got a friend who's gonna help by building us a ramp for the backdoor and front porch. So everything lined up great and we close this Wednesday [the 21st]. We are mostly packed up as best we can.... being in a wheelchair doesn't help. But we are ready!

Health
Well I been going to PT to learn how to walk. With the move coming up things have been hard to work around. Bit it's happening. I need to get a standing walker and a much better wheelchair [will link what that is in comments].
But the bigger news is on the 3rd I will be having back surgery to help mitigate my constant pain. I will be getting a Spinal Cord Stimulator. The easiest way to describe it is that it's a internal Tens Unit that helps block the pain signals from the lower limbs. So it will help with pain, and phantom limb. I really am hoping it works. Updates on this to come as things happen.
Life
Well besides the above things life has been going on. My mom has moved away from Knoxville so I probably won't be going back often unless it's to see my Neices and Nephew. She brought me some paintings she wanted to have safe from my sister, whom basically pulled the house out from under my mom. She also has given the my mom covid THREE FUCKING TIMES NOW.
I will admit I really do miss alot of you and my mental health has made it hard as of late. But I am trying. It's hard with the lose of a leg. But you must keep going. You must be kind. And you must love yourself as well.

Posted 3 years ago I first want to say thank you to those who have stayed by my side and helped in any way.
But most of all my mate 
Nickada she has suffered more then me. Has to drop what she was too. I was the one who would run out. I would run and do the errands. I would make sure things got done. After my leg. She had to go out with me. Put my chair in and out of the car. Pushing me in the stores. Pumping the gas. So much more!
But there are so much more who been generous with their time and money. 
Lucidum and 
lilbluefoxie helped get my chair.
And a countless others helped my gofundme. I wouldn't been able to do alot without the kindness too.
But there have been alot of difficulty even today:
I didn't get a leg till December.... and it was just thrown at me. No instructions, no therapy.... nothing. So it's hard if not impossible for me to use it. The pivot point is off. And being stick sitting for a year makes it nearly unable to support my own weight standing.
The wheelchair that I got was not designed for long term use. It's a cheap back and forth one. I need something that is lightweight and comfortable. And that gets out of hand price wise. I may get a new GoFundMe for that. [Place holder]
And disability. I was turned down even after all this. Seriously they said no. A half blind, one legged man with indeterminate word puke due to a stroke. So starting Monday I am going to talk to a advocate lawyer group.
But life is returning to some sort of normality. I am back to cooking. I can drive pretty ok. My pain doctors are talking of getting me a implant to help my misfires and phantom pain.
I do want to say: thank you everyone. I love you all. And anyone willing to help in the future are my heros and saviors. Thank you... always.

Posted 4 years ago I got Medicaid! Omg! And its dates back to the start of the year. So that means backlog! This is such good news. Now to call about getting a leg on Monday AM!

Posted 4 years agoIt feels everyday that it's getting worse and worse. I keep hurting those closest to me. I am not getting any real help from anywhere. I cant afford insurance and the state denies me Medicaid.

Posted 4 years agoI today went to a eye doctor cause my eyes as of late been kind of shitty. Before I lost the leg I went to see one and never had a five minute exam.
So today I went to Americas best. I got the eye pictures done and went on to the actual Doctor. He said he wasn't going to give me a exam due to my eyes. My macular is very dark, and has alot of leaks. He recommended me to a specialist. I don't know what its going to entail, but boy.... Life loves kneeing me in the balls. OVER ANG OVER!

Its been a while: Leg update
Posted 4 years ago Hello everyone. I wanted to give you updates on whats going on.

Now let me tell you what's been going on:
Today I went and saw a Consultant about my leg. I have been fitted, and suchh for it. Hell if I had insurance I would be waiting for it to be built. But I live in the Glorious US and where the government thinks people WANT a copay and to pay for their hospitals.
That is the main issue. No insurance. I live in Missouri where the Medicaid is a damn Dance thru Fire to get. Literally told by a caseworker: "You need to be deaf and blind, 100 years old, or have a dozen or more children." And that seems to be the truth. As well as the Healthcare.gov I run into the problems because I am Native American. And when my father passed away its become hard to find the paperwork. My mom was ment to bring to me, but she had a emergancy with her pacemaker and had to cancel. SO blah.
Now on the Power Chair front:
I managed to snag a used a Jazzy 1450. But the issue is its TOO big to use around the house. AND I can't make it down my ramp with it. The maintence man said he would try to widen the ramp but damnit. There a few cheap smaller ones on craigslist. that maybe I can down the road swap out for.
I love you guys. And I will admit this has been hard. Me and nickada have had a few small bumps in the road. Its not easy to go from the one who would do almost everything around the house to Just pushing around a vaccuum. or something else. I am sorry that I also have to keep asking for help. I really am sorry. I have considered making a new GoFundMe for a leg and a vehicle. I only have the small car, and that thing can barely fit me, the wheelchair and Nickada.
