Sorry for not keeping up on this month subject.
Posted 10 years agoYeah I lacked for a bit this month, sorry about that. I am on the verge of moving from one state to another so I been distracted.
BUT
here are a few video on people who have extreme phobias. This 1st one is the same therapist who I seen on a show called hoarders.
Now some people might find this to be funny. How ever it is not for the person. Fear will take hold of you and manifest you into someone else.
here another person who fears Kitties :
However this last one I do not understand.:

So with this said what animals you fear and why?
I [iconscales4sales] really scared of snakes.the fear is called Ophidiophobia. I have held a few in my life time , however I am really scared they will bite me because they can feel I am scared of them: here are a few reason why I fear them:
and here are... dumb people with snakes:
What animal scares the willies out of you?

Horror Fun Art Project for the month, Asian folk lore horror
Posted 10 years ago Now I am in love with the Asian culture, from the food all the way to their folk lore and urban legends. This month I would like to do some highlights of horror in the folk tales. Now I am doing Asian so we have a lot to cover.
So this month " fun art project" you can pick a monster that from history and do what ever. This is a "fun project" so not a "must do" thing.
Please keep it in mind you have to do a piece for the club. Using a piece some one paid for or something that was not done for the club is not aloud. HOWEVER if you want to pay an artist to do one for the club that is fine but the original MUST SAY , this piece was commissioned by so and so for the Scarystuffclub. I have to do this because it is stated in the rules on how clubs get their submission of art.
Here are a few you tube on some monster from the past:
I just got into theses 2 and I find them very entertaining!
and this one
If you have any comments or ideas or anything you like to add please share with us!
Stay Creepy!

No Entries for this month art subject , No worries!
Posted 10 years agoLike I said before this is optional. By the end of the day we ether have commissions to do for other or we are drain by life task that make one mind go bla. I for one work and have not been in the mood to draw to much. I been playing Neverwinter so much after work because I like putting my mind on autopilot and do quest instead of using my mind to determine where my lines and colors to go.
I am thinking of another subject to do research for this group for the horror of it all.
Stay creepy friends and nieghbors ;)

How twisted is Fairy Tales are in the past.
Posted 10 years agoSo To follow up with this Month them I would like to Start a discussion on how messed up and scary the original Fairy Tales we grown to love.
This morning I had read up on another fairy tale that threw me for a loop, Sleeping Beauty! "Sleeping Beauty": In Giambattista Basile's tale (which is the actual origin of the Sleeping Beauty story), a king happens to walk by Sleeping Beauty's castle and knock on the door. When no one answers, he climbs up a ladder through a window. He finds the princess, and calls to her, but as she is unconscious, she does not wake up. Well, dear reader, he carries her to the bed and rapes her. Then he just leaves. She awakens after she gives birth because one of her twins sucks the flax (from the spindle) out of her finger. The king comes back, and despite him having raped her, they end up falling in love? However, another big problem: the king is still married to someone else. His wife finds out and not only tries to have the twins killed, cooked, and fed to the king, but also tries to burn the princess at the stake. Luckily, she is unsuccessful. The king and the princess get married and live happily ever after (despite the fact that he raped her). Perrault's adaptation of Basile's updated adaptation of the story (a much tamer version) is probably what was used for the Disney adaptation, as they are much more similar. This paragraph is from the article found here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/.....n_4239730.html .
What other Fairy Tale you was shock to learn had a much sinister side. Being an adult how does it make you feel and would you tell any these tales to your children in their water down form to not give them nightmares or their cautionary versions to make them understand the evils in the world. As a parent their is some things I would not of course tell them , but some of it sounds much better.

Horror Fun Art Project for the month, Terror in Fairy Tales
Posted 10 years agoI am sure that you have read fairy tail when you was a child, and I bet there is a number of you all who read the much darker side to the tales you loved as a child. Unlike the Disney who water down these classic where there is singing and dancing , there lies a much darker and cynical side to the story.
This month fun subject is go find out and to some sort of art with the true version of Fairy tales.
A few ideas:
* Did you know that Pinocchio got so mad at the cricket that he smashed him with a mallet.
* The witch willingly helps her by selling her a potion that gives her legs in exchange for her tongue (as the Little Mermaid has the most enchanting and beautiful voice in the world). The Sea Witch warns that once she becomes a human, she will never be able to return to the sea. Consuming the potion will make her feel as if a sword is being passed through her body, yet when she recovers, she will have two human legs and will be able to dance like no human has ever danced before. However, she will constantly feel as if she is walking on sharp knives and as though her toes are bleeding. In addition, she will obtain a soul only if she wins the love of the prince and marries him, for then a part of his soul will flow into her. Otherwise, at dawn on the first day after he marries another woman, the Little Mermaid will die brokenhearted and disintegrate into sea foam upon the waves,( source from Wikipedia)
There is so much out there. What I would like is any form of medium that portray the original horror of these stories. Nothing made like Cinderella Killing the dwarfs or anything. I want a drawing, sculpture, poetry or a short film if you like to base the true horror of the Fairy tales.

::Announcment:: fun project art concept of the month.
Posted 10 years agoOn May 1 I will be announcing the Concept piece that I would like to be done for the club . This is a fun project so this can be done any way you like, I just want to to start doing fun projects with the members of the club to help get creative juices flowing and possibly help the fellow members get notice for their dark creativity by like minded furs in the community.
I am still thinking of a subject. How this is done can be by traditional mediums, digital . Photography or if you like a short youtube.com film. What ever you like. The duration of when it needs to be done is the end of the month. Also I will try to keep the month weekly discussion close to the month art subject so it will stay consistent to one subject.
I would like this to be new stuff not old commissions you done for another. If you commission an artist to do this monthly project please have the original state it was done for this club. I guess some place in FA rules that we can not re-post art that was not done for the club unless the original state it was.
Please share your thoughts on this if you like.

Posted 10 years agoA game or a Movie?
I am enjoying a book on tape called Rose Madder By Stephen King. I am half way through the Book/ audios MP3 and I have to say I would love to see that turn into a movie.
I Know that Creepy Pasta's Slenderman is a game and not bad as an Indie game. I would Like you the watches in this club tell me what story would make a great Movie or game and why.

What remakes you feel was the best and utter waste of time?
Posted 10 years agoIn your opinion what was the remakes you felt was not bad as a rendition of the director's take.
The I like to know what was the remakes you wish they just left alone. This week only American and British films.
I will be frank with you I do like some remakes despite it was the same idea that already been done. Here is my top ten of Hey, not bad remake:
1. Carrie: (2002) Despite this being a remake I feel the actress Angela Bettis done a stellar job. It had all the elements from The Stephen king book along with the First Carrie with Sissy Spacek.
2. Invasion of the body snatcher (1978) I love love love how they added the star from the original , Kevin McCarthy in this version.
3. Patrick (2013) They have change some from the original story but I found this was as good as the original.
4. The Thing (1982) I actually like this more then the original because of it being more gory and less spoofy.Don't get me wrong I do love the classic however I enjoy this version more.
5. I Spit on Your Grave (2010) This revenge movie was Just as good as the original .
6. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) I like this movie for still keeping the key element to how the original was with adding the directer own tid bits to this remake classic.
8. Thir13en Ghosts (2001) I did love the original with all their special effects and such for it time and well story . The remake was just as good with adding more of modern day darkness and the house was such a nice idea with the cast being a fun movie to watch with friends.
9. The Shining (1997 Mini-Series) I felt this was more closer to the book then the original movie. The child actor was kinda and ok from the original. However the mini series was more a worth to watch.
10. Maniac (2012) So eerie seeing Elijah Wood who i have seen him in so many movies when he was a kid being a twisted psycho killer. A good movie to watch.
Honorable mention for remakes I like ( I am gonna just list them.)
The Stepfather (2009)
2001 Maniacs (2005) I had to watch since Robert Englund is a favorite actor of mine.
The Last House on the Left
A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010)
Little Shop of Horrors (1986)
Fright Night (2011)
I Am Legend (2007)
What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?(1991 TV Movie)
Straw Dogs (2011)
Now here are my top ten Why did they have to do a remake...
1.Carrie (2013) I am sorry but she was pretty and everyone in the school look like models. When you read the book and seen the last 2 Carrie movie you figure you get a girl you would overlook in school. In this version the girl was very much model material making the story less true to the nature of this flop of a film.
2.House on Haunted Hill (1999) I felt they tried too hard to be awesome. They did have some creepy concept on the ghost and such but it felt more rushed with lots of glitter of cgi stuff.
3. The Hills Have Eyes (2006) It kinda went with the original story but there was some things that was too much to make me want to watch it because it just grossed me out more then scared me. The make up/cgi was good but this one I felt was Just disturbing then good.
4.The haunting. The actors was great don't get me worn on this but I felt their could be more to this movie. The original in my opinion had a fantastic story for it's time and I do love the FX that went into the move. This remake with all it's new high tech trick fell short to the original. I did love the scene in the house though, other then that the movie was a sort of bore.
5. Godzilla (1998) This remake was ok. I did not like the creature design so much as well as the rush bland story.
6. The Town That Dreaded Sundown (2014) I seen the original that was based on true event that happen in Texakana. This remake was a blah attempt to make this into something. I did like the ending but the story just seem to drag on with trying to be scary.
7. The Island of Dr Monreau.(1996) The cast was ok with the cgi and make up. The only thing that made it flop was the story was too bland and dragged on for some reason.
8. When a Stranger Calls (2006) - Just boring to watch and I felt I was not engaged with the movie based on the actress was kinda robotic and the story was just a drag to watch.
9. Psycho (1998) No one can touch the performance of Anthony Perkins in this role. I watch the series on AMD called the Bates Motel and the actor,Freddie Highmore is far more creepier and fitting for the part of Norman bates then Vince Vaughn. I do like him in other roles but this was a role her should of pass up.
10.The Wickerman (2006) I am sorry but Nicolas Cage acting was crappy for this horror movie. It makes you want to laugh more then want to get creeped out of the story.
So This week give me your list of likes and hates of remakes you feel are worthy or chuck in the trash.
The I like to know what was the remakes you wish they just left alone. This week only American and British films.
