Busy as a bee!
Posted 9 years agoGreetings, everyone! Hopefully now that some personal life issues have been smoothed over (at least for the time being) there will be lots more activity on here and Etsy! I am gearing up to make some goodies for Easter (been dabbling with all sorts of new stuff) and even been thinking of making some unusual but good stuff too! I made a new batch of Warfstache shower jellies that I'll be posting to Etsy, as well as Vixen, Blarney Setter, etc. bath bombs! I've also added another scent to the No Evil line as well this time it's one for Huey the Coyote.
Thanks for reading and I can't wait to share more pictures and whatnot with all of you!

Updated Ingredient List For ALL Items
Posted 10 years agoI figured it was about time that I post my ingredient list on social media, not just because we've updated our Perfume Balm base, but also so that people can know in case of allergies or other concerns:
Bath bombs: Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), citric acid, corn starch, may contain, depending on the batch (I'll be glad to specify), of coconut oil, avocado oil, grapeseed oil, or cocoa butter, cream of tartar, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate**, body safe colorant***, fragrance derived from high quality essential oils, fragrance oils, or any combination of the two****.
**- Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, or SLSA, is not the same as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, SLS, its more notorious cousin. All controversy aside, SLSA has been proven to be a much gentler foaming/bubbling agent derived from coconuts. A lot of people with skin sensitivities claim this product doesn't bother them at all. I tend to have sensitive skin and it doesn't bother me, but if you have a history of allergic reactions to this ingredient, by all means, I'll take this into consideration and omit it from your bath bombs.
***- This usually consists of something natural, like beet juice. I do occasionally use powdered soap colorant to get very bright colors, but I'm always striving to keep things as natural as possible. I also use micas and cosmetic grade glitters, which again, if your septic system is not glitter-friendly, definitely let me know.
****- Again, I strive to keep things as natural as possible, however, since I'm still new to making and selling bath and body products, sometimes using fragrance oils is unavoidable. Rose oil, for instance, is extremely pricey, so in some blends, like She-Wolf in the Boudoir, I have to substitute with rose fragrance oil. Also, for the items I sell to my fellow parishioners at my church, I try to keep things simple, so I do make crowd favorites like Pink Musk, Vanilla, etc.
Bath Bomb Cupcakes: The bases have almost identical ingredients as regular bath bombs, except they contain kaolin clay, also known as cosmetic clay. The frosting contains powdered sugar*, cream of tartar, and meringue powder.
*- Some people have concerns about the powdered sugar in the frosting causing a yeast infection. I know a lot of other soapers who use this frosting recipe for their products, and their customers have not complained of anything like this, so again, use your best discretion. I've heard of non-sugary bath bomb cupcake frosting and I am SO game to try it, so if this new frosting recipe works, this concern will be null and void.
Massage Lotion Bars: Cocoa butter, shea butter, an oil blend that may contain any of the following: olive oil, moringa oil, tamanu oil, grapeseed oil, or avocado oil, fragrance (same thing as mentioned above with the bath bombs), and some may contain glitter/mica.
Shower Jelly: Glycerin, water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (an alternative to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), Carageenan (seaweed) powder (makes it thick and jiggly), Phenoxyethanol***, Pentasodium Pentatate (lathering agent that causes chelation, which protects the skin from negative effects caused by hard water), Tetrasodium Etidronate (a safe stabilizer, but some people may be allergic to it), colorant (same as with bath bombs), and may contain glitter.
Solid Perfume Balms: A blend of coconut oil, cocoa butter, tamanu oil, avocado oil, etc. and fragrance (same situation as everything else, though I tend to prefer strictly essential oil blends with these).
As you all can probably tell, these are my main items and I'm still experimenting to see which methods/recipes that I like the best. Sure, I'll definitely make shower tabs every once in a while, but people don't seem to want them as much lately, which I can understand as I made them mainly for cold/flu season.
In any case, this journal was a lot longer than intended, mainly because I wanted to allay as many fears and resolve some frequently asked questions.
For the record, I have no problem whatsoever answering questions as long as they are appropriate (for instance, you may certainly ask, "Was this *fill in item name here* made using Coconut Oil?" or even something as simple as "What is the purpose of *insert item name or product name*?" but you will be immediately shut down if you ask, "Are you only doing this because you're a loser who can't hold down a 'real' job?" Why? Common sense: the latter is extremely rude and shouldn't even be dignified with an answer.)
Anyway, as I said, feel free to ask questions, and I hope this list is helpful. :3

AMAZING NEWS!!!
Posted 10 years agoSo, I know I've been posting this ALL OVER Facebook, but I figured I should mention it on here as well:
Some of you may know of Betsy Lee, and her cartoon series Swingers about mythological creatures that run their own night club, as well as her furry-themed cartoon series called No Evil. Well, I scrounged up as much courage as I could and messaged her on DeviantArt and asked for her permission to continue with the No Evil themed line of scents on which I'm working, since Calamity has been pretty darn popular, and she said YES! Mominatrix and I are SO very thankful and can't wait to keep updating her on the progress. ^_^ I'm not sure which character to make next, but I'm going to keep playing around and brainstorming! If anyone has any suggestions, please either note me the suggestion or leave it in the comments below!
Also, here's a link to Betsy Lee's DeviantArt, I highly recommend checking out her stuff, she is wicked talented:

St. Patty's Day Bath Bomb Contest!
Posted 10 years agoSince this contest worked really well on FB and I still have a few St. Patty's Day bath bombs available, I'm going to have one on here as well!
So this is what I'm going to do:
I have created a really fun holiday exclusive St. Patrick's Day scent called Blarney Setter, made with the beautiful, red Irish Setter breed in mind! ^_^ The scent is Irish cream and Vanilla. I will send some lucky person a FREE Blarney Setter bath bomb (all you have to do is pay for shipping, which makes that a $4 discount from having to pay for the bath bomb AND shipping), and all you have to do is answer this bit of trivia about the Irish setter breed's STANDARD (meaning how they usually are, since every dog is different):
Trivia Question: Are Irish Setters a good choice as guard dogs? If you say yes or no, PLEASE GIVE THE REASON, since the reason is very vital. ^_^
The first person to answer correctly wins a Blarney Setter bath bomb, with the option of the white banshee sprinkles and orange glitter! It's like having a shot of Bailey's in your bath, without the hangover! X3
Contest will end by 11:59 PM EST on March 17th, or when someone guesses the correct answer for the breed standard.

Possible Contest News!
Posted 10 years agoSo, I'm debating on whether we should start having some contests to garner interest in our products.
I'm tending to think that it would be cool to have people model in their fursuits for our products, and maybe if they do they get a free jar of the perfume balm that they model. Either that, or have a writing contest involving "scent stories" and the winner gets a free perfume balm or bath bomb. Something like that! :3
Any suggestions would be awesome!

To Sell at AnthroCon, or not to Sell at AnthroCon?
Posted 10 years agoI'm not sure if we officially announced it on here, but Mominatrix and I are considering getting a dealer booth at AnthroCon. It would be a huge commitment and whatnot, but it might be good for us to get our name out there and actually get this business off the ground!
Does anyone know someone who was a vendor at AnthroCon whom would have good advice for someone just starting out?
Any advice or help in this matter would be GREATLY appreciated!

Updates Galore!
Posted 10 years agoWe've been busy, as you all can probably tell by the sudden deluge of photos! We added more size options for the perfume balms, added a couple more scents to our line-up, and started making bath bombs too! We're also starting an Etsy store, which is a bit slow going because Etsy is VERY specific, but we hope to have that up and running soon. Hopefully we'll soon be able to add more products and scents soon too! I'm sorry if this journal isn't the most articulate; it's late and I'm starting to space out. I'll be sure to update the page more often though, no worries!
Oh, and before I forget, I will be starting to bring some of our products along to the CT Furries diner and billiards meets (if the coordinators don't mind, of course!), so if any of my local furs want to buy or commission anything, they can do so there! :3
