Career consideration
Posted 12 years agoI know that I've always had an affinity for herpetology, and I would love to work in a herpetological centre, taking care of reptiles and the like, and no matter what I end up doing as a career, I'm definitely going to study zoology (narrowing down to herpetology) in university and get a degree.
However, I also feel that I have a calling for a different job.
I feel a strong pull to work in an LGBTU centre and help out people like me. Being both transgender and asexual, I know how tough it is to not be accepted because of one's sexuality or gender identity - I know I sure as hell couldn't have managed it this far without my friends and select members of my family to support me. I feel like I have a duty to prevent people from feeling the same way that I always have and likely always will.
So those are my thoughts. 0: I'd be interested to hear other peoples' input on the matter, too!
