This Megaplex was better than ever, Day one (Thursday) was a bit long with an early morning, but that has to do more with working the night before. Load in and setup was done in no time, as always it was a pleasure and a privilege to work with so many dedicated and talented people. Now the fun side, getting out and seeing so many furs I have known online and getting to meet in person was just awesome. I was able to let a new ball of fluff out into the world and derp around. It seems like this weekend went so fast, everything was just so much fun.

I did have to step away for a few hours to go to a party in my friends honor, I am starting to feel more at peace because of it.

I think one of my favorite things about this con is it always ends right around my birthday.

Last night at 11:18 pm after a long battle with lung and brain cancer, a good friend of mine was called home. He was a big influence not only in my life, but countless others. So here's to you Floyd, you may be gone but you will live on in our hearts and it memories. Thank you for everything, always being just a phone call away, those summer projects, getting ready for the races, or perhaps the thing I will miss most of all are those days just bullshitting at the shop.

I finally completed the final phase of my dive training, I did the test dive for work. It wasn't really all that difficult, just had to prove some basic skills and do a short dive in The Living Seas at EPCOT. which was really amazing. The moment we swam past the restaurant everyone dining started taking pictures. So now I'm qualified as a Disney diver

Arrived at the hotel early on Thursday. Met up with (was awesome suiting with ya btw). During the con I was able to meet Ron Schneider (for those of you who don't know he was the original Dreamfinder from "Journey Into Imagination" at EPCOT. Looking back over the years Dreamfinder and Figment really had a major impact on my life. Once my roomies and my "daytime" roomie we suited with james for a bit (my first time). Later on in the weekend we were joined by and who were in need of a place to stay. Later we also had (was really awesome hanging with you all). Got to meet Dr. Conway (or as everyone else knows him Uncle Kage).

I think the best part is monday (technically the con was over we were still taking all the stuff down) was my birthday.

GO GO GO

Figured I'd write a bit about the concert I was able to see. It was everything I expected. It was just amazing. I was 28 rows up and could still feel the heat from the Pyrotechnics. It wasn't really too crowded, but I don't believe the word really got out (the only reason I knew was due to an email). After listening to them for 10 years I was really happy to finally see them live.

Figured I'd share about my new work location. This is my 3rd week after transferring (2nd week on nights) Ive been learning tons of new things, all of it is the same concept however working on several generations of systems. Technology from 60 years ago to state of the art systems. And the people I'm with, theres less bickering and fighting, everyone is so much nicer. I should have done this ages ago. Ive been getting to the point where I cant wait to get to work. So the grass was greener in this side.

Been looking for a new job location, and while waiting for the people from transportation to call I get an email from an attractions dept wanting an immediate transfer. So in 2 weeks I'm leaving the gate and barriers and going into animation and robotics. It is a bit of an odd feeling moving, but I think its worth it. the last thing I have set for the gates, i wrote a book on them thats going to be part of the standard training on them and continued maintenance.

This week we had to have my moms dog put down. He was with us for the past 14 years. that poor dog fought his entire live with Irritable Bowel and other digestive issues. he took a turn for the worse this past month. he ended up with advanced stomach cancer. it git to the point where he was not able to eat. Theres no pain where you are now, we will always love you.

At work I've been trying to bid on a new work location, which is done by qualifications followed by seniority. Having only 2 years in its rather difficult to get the location i want. 2 weeks ago I bid on a job I really want and I came up 3rd. It doesn't sound like much however I lost it at 3rd twice already. so just before logging off for the weekend I get this email. I need to contact the supervisor in that location to schedule an interview. I contacted the day shift supervisor and He gives me an appointment for next week, while talking to him I mentioned that I had interviewed last winter with the 2nd shift supervisor. He instantly says "so your the one he keeps talking about, let me talk to him we may not have to interview". so I'm rather excited to find out the result. So here's to hoping I get to learn a whole new system and master a new set of skills. It's going to be an interesting experience testing my skill on this new system.

I'd like to organize a Disney fur meet I wanna shoot for Saturday January the 14th 2012. As for which park I figured we would leave it open to popular vote of those attending. Leave a comment or note me if interested. The 4 parks available are Magic kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.
Base price ticket is $90.53 or $127.80 for a park hopper. As of right now just planning on one park but that's up for debate. If anyone has any questions feel free to leave me a message.

insurance came through, due to a dumbass highway patrolman my insurance paid out $100,000 for something i wasn't involved in. long story short never stop to help someone if someone wrecks infront of you don't stop. never deal with highway patrol.
