Back from AnthrOhio
Posted 7 years agoI should have posted this sometime yesterday, but...
The convention ended with a nerf gun fight. I forgot my own gun, so had to use a few crappy loaners. Next year, though, I'm gonna need to soup up my gun and bring it.
It was definitely a learning experience - I really, really hope I don't have Overtime next Saturday (I probably will), because I'm pretty sure they're hosting another walk in Columbus that I want to attend - these guys are all awesome, and I need to hang out with them more.
While every furry will deny that there's a hierarchy in the convention (And really do act like it), it's really hard to not feel... inadequate next to some of the guys and girls in the adorable and awesome fursuits (Though they made it very clear those suits are HOT. I could feel the sweat soaking through the suits on some of them) Still - dammit, I want one! Unfortunately, I forgot to get the contact information from a suit maker I met who made (And was wearing) a really awesome 'semi-toon' Krampus suit.
I really, really should have taken more pictures. But my camera-shyness extends to fear of taking photos, instead of being afraid of being in them. I did get a pic of Kylo Ren in the middle of a furry Conga Line, though. There was also a Spiderman, Captain America, and Imperial Guardsman at the convention, and a Snow Leopard Ghostbuster (Who's proton pack played the Ghostbusters' theme during the Fursuit Walk, while several other suiters had their smartphones out playing "Try Everything")
I really, really regret not getting to see Seth Otter's performance during the Fursuit Dance (Which got him 2nd Place. That guy has magical feet. I'm not sure how he didn't get first, but I came in halfway through the contest, and really, everyone was great.) He spent what seemed like most of the convention either in suit, at the DDR machine in the Hospitality Room, or in his suit on the DDR machine in the Hospitality Room.
So... I need to get a new job (That gives me vacation time for conventions, and leaves the 1st Saturday of every month free) that pays better so I can get more money to go to more conventions. And, I'm going to have to seriously increase my heat tolerance if I ever want to wear those big fluffy suits. On the other hand... maybe getting one would encourage me to get out and goof off more?

Going to AnthrOhio
Posted 7 years agoWell, this is going to be my first convention. I went to the walk this weekend, had an okay-ish time, sorta met a few people, but now I'm looking forward to the convention itself coming up. It's a smaller one, and I have no idea what i'm doing.
Going to upload art
Posted 8 years agoI have a bunch of art I've commissioned over the years, and I think I'm gonna upload it all.
