It's about time for this major update because I just don't connect well with this username anymore. I will not be disabling my account or deleting it! Changes for the beginning/mid of this year
Posted 8 years agoHello everyone! I hope everyone is having a pretty nice start to the new year! Anyways, I wanted to inform everyone that I have thought about this for awhile now and I feel more genderfluid then trans though I will continue with the treatment and get most of the surgeries done for myself. However because of the recent things I've discovered about myself, I felt like the name "Jake" is too masculine for me and have heavily considered switching over to the name "Kirin" to be changed legally this year which I'm super excited for! It'll be a hard change but I hope that everyone will be able to adapt to it sooner or later. <3 I might attend TFF this year which is exciting and if not then BLFC will be my next con I'll attend to! I'm excited for the new changes this year and looking forward to lots of positive things!

Health update
Posted 8 years agoHey everyone! Other then my transgender updates I usually don't let a lot of people in on my medical updates however I will share this in my journal. About a month ago I had to go into the hospital to get a sleep study done because I have sleeping issues. After waiting for a few weeks, I got a call from my PCP (primary care physician) letting me know the results for the study and I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea unfortunately. I am in the current process of getting a cpap machine to help me sleep way better and make sure I'm actually breathing during the nights. I'll be bringing the machine with me to cons cause its kinda essential for my health. XD; anyways that's about it! Hope everyfur is doing well!

Yay updates!

Gosh it's defintely been awhile since I've posted up a journal so here's the short version of what's going on:
After RMFC finished, me and
and 
moved together in with

into a very lovely house! I know that Karma mentioned awhile back that he and Ryo had gone their separate ways which did make me pretty sad to see them part but after finding out that Karma had a pretty big crush on me for awhile, we got together after waiting for a bit after the break up happened. Karma has been incredibly patient with me especially since I have a serious depression issue and I've been through a lot of financial situations which stressed me out further with my life. Tomorrow marks my final day of the current job I have then afterwards I'll be officially working with 
as part of the main crew and it'll be my full time job for hopefully a very long time! I'm pretty excited to finally work from home with very low stress and working along side my bestest buddies! I'm very content with my current household surrounded by amazing and loving people that is practically my family so...I just got extremely lucky that I ended up with a safe, loving household!
I have been arting on and off but just finished my fursona and icon for the Sparkle Kreations company which is a rainbow American Crow that has a slight hint of raven DNA in there. Originally I was going to have an art table for BLFC but I unfortantely backed out because I don't think I'll ever have an art table for the rest of my life because I just don't have the motivation and dedication anymore and my art is now just a general hobby of mine.
Yes, I'll be working with Sparkle Kreations for a very long time however I do not think it'll be till the end of my time because I have a high interest of becoming a marine biologist when I grow much older. I would like to wait until I get offered free education and all of my loans have been paid off plus I'm living much more comfortably financial wise. As much as I do love feathered and fur creatures, my allergies will not allow me to work with these animals but I can defintely work with aquatic creatures and I've always been fascinated with the ocean and other massive water sources that contain life forms. But like I said, this won't happen for many years down the road because there's other things I would like to get out of the way first. xD
I'm still taking the hormone shots and it has been way past the 1 year mark but I could not be happier with my choice! I am most likely going to go with the name change next year because I cannot wait any longer to get that started up. Looking forward to getting my top surgery done soon as well but just gotta make sure that I'm financially stable before surgery comes around!
There are a few cons that I will be attending next year and if you plan on going to any of these cons just give a shout out and maybe we can meet up!

Back from RMFC!
Posted 9 years agoHey everyone! RMFC this year was actually a tad bit dull for me to be honest. XD however Co hosting the Japanese game show panel with my good friend 
on Sunday went extremely well and it's a high possibility that we will bring it back next year! I got to meet some really awesome artists in the den and bought, my very first NSFW prints. Oh lala~ B3 with some money left over to help me get through this week and also stop by the aquarium to hopefully get a job there, most likely in the gift shop, I'm going to start saving up to pay bills and also rent for moving into the new house which is in a few weeks. It was a pleasure seeing old friends and whichever new friends I've made! Next con I plan to attend to is MFF! It'll be my first year going there! *throws confetti* hopefully by that time I'll be on a roll with doing artworks and managing my stress better. I hope everyone had a swell time at the con!

Back from BLFC and other updates
Posted 9 years agoHey all! Been back from BLFC for awhile and going back to the normal life is pretty lame. I did attend DCC (Denver Comic Con) on Friday and went to the Denver Pridefest just today! It was lots of fun and eyed several very sexy/cute guys and girls~ ;D
I'm very pumped for RMFC and NDK! I hope to see friends there and maybe even meet some new people! Just not so many all at once. Hey maybe I'll even find my special someone at one of the cons! Paws crossed and I hope everyone is doing well!

BLFC+Personal updates
Posted 9 years agoHello everyone! I think it's about time to get my previous journal off from my page and start with a brand new one!
First off, this will be my second out of state furry convention but I'll be attending to BLFC with! Be seeing a few good friend as well and it'll be super exciting! At least much more exciting then Oklacon cause I didn't have a great time there but if I didn't go I wouldn't have met some pretty awesome artist friends. <3
I'm pretty sure I'll be suiting at BLFC so keep a look out for me and if you plan on going please give me a shout out and maybe we can hang or something though I have social anxieties and have issues being around random strangers so please bare with my shy personality. ;w;
Also I'm really looking forward to moving in with my best buds and the dragons (listed above) into an actual house hopefully within the next few months! It'll be great and I'm also gonna look for a much better job because fast food can only get me so far and most of my stress unfortunately is coming from my job...plus I need higher pay in order to make my life easier especially with my student loans creeping up on me soon. *shudders*
I am pretty happy with my life right now especially with continuing hormone treatments and looking forward to getting my surgeries in the future but I have been getting sad often but it's because I'm lacking of having an amazing mate in my life and it sucks because one, I have trust issues and need to emotionally connect with someone so well that I would love to go out with them and two, it's incredibly difficult for a transgender to find the right person who doesn't have a fetish with the genders. I don't get jealous when I see friends dating in fact I think it's really adorable! But I definitely get very lonely and have the high urge to get clingy and cuddly. I absolutely have to have a one on one relationship and not have multiple partners because it's a huge turn off for me and it makes me extremely uncomfortable. I'm sure I'll find the right person for me and mostly looking for the type of a "gentle giant" as an ideal partner because of my personality.
Anywho other then that, I've been slowly doing art on the side not much unfortunately but I'm trying. Kinda difficult to keep up with when you have an actual job that you work so many hours just to keep yourself alive. xD I cannot wait to get a higher paying job where I can have more free time to do more art and one day make a living off of it.

RMFC+Life updates
Posted 9 years agoHello everyone! January sure went by fast. I've been struggling to keep up with the work hours I've been receiving and on top of that I gotten terribly sick about two weeks ago which made me lose hours however I'm gaining more hours which means more money. I usually don't open up my personal thoughts to the interwebs or any social media but about two days ago I hit a depression stage because there were two things that really upset me: me still being single and the thought that I might possibly work at a fast food job for the rest of my life. That thought alone terrifies me and I don't want to work at where I'm at for 50+ years. I talked to my best bros about the situation (since I now feel more comfortable opening up to them about anything) and they gave me several options for my future. I wasn't sure about being an artist because I don't feel motivated ever or I have an incredibly nasty art block. I don't enjoy doing commissions at least not often. But I have the possibility of maybe selling some silly cute design on a designer site or make fan art and sell prints. Taking commissions is an extremely rare thing for me. I need to see where I'll go with these ideas and try to push myself to draw or hell even doodle something everyday!
In this sense, I unfortunately backed out of my planned table this year for RMFC and I'm glad I did it before I paid for half of the table. I feel awful but at the same time I can enjoy myself at the con and even fursuit for once! Plus I will be helping/co-hosting a panel this year. :D
Also Valentines day is coming up but I call it "Single Awareness Day" I'm gonna hang out with the two besties and my fellow Korean bro plus other people that are single! It'll be a really nice hang out day to know that we aren't alone. <3
That's about it! I hope to upload more art sometime this year!

Life update 2016
Posted 9 years agoWell happy New Years everyone! ...a bit of a late saying on that part but I hope you all made your resolutions!
First of all, a few days ago I got into my very first car accident (never have I been so terrified in my whole life) and unfortantely it was my fault. I'm okay thankfully! My car however...is not really driveable at the moment. D: If I can get it fixed, I would have to pay a thousand bucks for the deductible which sadly I do not have right now and that would be difficult for me to save up for and I cannot skip out on making current payments like owed debts and rent plus able to feed myself. So I'm hoping that I'll strike up a deal with my mother and have her pay me for half of the deductible to ease up on the stress.
This last year has been a roller coaster for me. But towards the end of last year, I've been really happy mostly meeting the most amazing people in my life and getting a stable job plus getting my hormone shots. Money hasn't really been the best but a lot of my friends have been struggling too so everyone has been dealing with financial issues.
I've also come to a closure with what I want to do with my skills/talents for my art and sadly I will have to truthfully admit...I cannot become a professional artist. My motivation for doing art has steeped so low to the point where I just don't want to do art on a daily basis anymore and if I push myself to do art, I'll stress out and become really unhappy especially with doing commissions. So instead, I'll be doing only personal arts, occasional gift arts for close friends, and that's pretty much it. However I will have prints available and sketch commissions for my table at RMFC this year so that way I can gain some extra cash to stash away. That will be the only time I'll open up for commissions then no more after that. I do apologize but I won't do art if it makes me unhappy.
New Years resolutions I have for this year:
- Find myself a really nice boyfriend (sorry but not into ladies really anymore)
- Lose weight and gain muscles
- Find a nice place to live in (as much as I love the husky and sabernub don't wanna barge in on their new home with the dragons ;w; )
- Improve my art (at a comfortable pace!)
- Save up enough money to get top surgery done and get other trans stuff for myself
I don't have a lot but that's because I'm not expecting much or rather asking for a lot. Living a comfortable life is mostly what I want to be honest! Not really...looking forward to making new friends but that's because I've become extremely anti-social and shy. >_>;

Fall weather shenannigans
Posted 10 years agoHey all! I thought I go ahead and update my journal and get the old one out of the way.
There's some things that have been going on and I'm discovering more things about myself as time passes by. I'm in a very comfortable living situation right now thanks to my best bros (you know who you guys are!!! *stares intensely through my skull*) and I will finally be out of a miserable, under paying job to a much higher paying job in a possible happier environment. Mostly ups but there are a few downs. Been doing great with my shots and slowly but surely my voice has been dropping and my emotions have been getting a lot more calmer basically the testosterone has been like a major chill pill for me and I couldn't be any happier with my choice!
I've been invited by friends to attend FC next year and I'm going to take up on their offer so if you plan on going maybe I'll run into a few familiar faces! I won't have a suit but hey that's okay as long as I have a great time at the con and get a few laughs in there...okay a lot of laughs cause I get easily amused by many things. xD
As for my future living situation I honestly don't know what I'm going to do other then live by myself but that would be highly expensive and I've noticed that I'm extremely picky whom I would like to have a room mate. But when the time comes I'll see what comes along my path.
I'll also be attending the local furry Halloween event with the roomies which is called "Howl-o-ween" which I've been looking forward to for several years actually! I'm very excited to attend to this event. :3
I think that's pretty much it other then me trying to pump out more art. Hope everyone is doing well!

NDK and life update

I'm back from NDK that I roomed with karmaai ryo-aki soongdae aimichan and I have to say that it was the best NDK I've ever been too! Granted my cosplay was incomplete the gun prop that I helped ryo-aki make for Graves (from League of Legends), defintely made the cosplay super epic! I'll be more prepared next year and hopefully bring 3 to 4 cosplays to wear and some will be group cosplays!
I've just recently moved in with the saber and the circus husky and pretty happy with my current life although I'm still struggling very roughly with financial needs. I'll be getting two jobs as soon as I can which will mean less free time for me until I save up enough to be okay meaning eating out with friends and having some extra spending cash while also paying off bills and stuff.
Happy to announce that this year's NDK, I am now officially mated to the amazingly beautiful aimichan who I fell head over heels when we first met at DCC! Once I've got more money I may or may not spoil this lovely lady. <:
I'm currently working on one commission since my YCH isn't doing so hot so I'll take that down and close down commissions till I'm ready to take on more since I want to focus on personal arts and artworks to sell at next year's RMFC...plus I will be pretty busy with two jobs. >>; I've got one trade that I need to really finish up but after that I'm good to do whatever I want to draw.

RMFC wrap up
Posted 10 years agoThis year's con went extremely well! I got to meet new people and it was very nice. Yes granted there was a few downers during the con but over all it's probably my favorite year! I snagged a ram skull sticker but that was the only merch I got from the con which I'm totally okay with! Hung out mainly with my hotel room group and my main roomie, spent most of my time helping out karmaai's panels which I didn't mind at all cause I had a blast watching the fursuit games.
Next year I'll have my own suit (hopefully), and on top of that, I'm gonna most definitely have a table and happily sharing it with my friend
springdragon (who has freaking amazing art!) and hope to be table neighbors with a few selected artists who I have lovely connections with! I'll be a lot more prepared and am looking forward to seeing which hotel the con will be moving to.
Got to suit a bit with karmaai and the rest of the gang and surprised lots of people which was probably one of the best parts. xD I am kinda sad that the con is over but glad at the same time cause I just need to scurry to save enough money for NDK and start paying bills along with food and other owed money cause being broke sucks...however! I did sell my large watercolor Okami piece and on top of that I had a fur that was highly interested in buying my three legendary dogs pieces whenever they have the money so hurray for making some profit! \o/ cause I gotta help out my room mate 
roguewolfclaw with the rent. Being a worker bee sucks. >:C I hope to eventually work from home with just one job and be that freelance artist to make enough money to pay bills and feed myself! But that'll take awhile...>>;
I had so much fun at the fur con that I am VERY eager to attend to more fur cons in the future! I would love to meet more furs on top of that get to know other artists from out of state and just have a great time!
I am going to probably not attend A-Kon anymore however cause well...kinda moved on and I'm having more fun at fur cons anyways.

ONE MORE THING! (give you a cookie if you get the reference): My second fursona, Hyung, that Ragdoll feline, he's getting a major update! He'll still be a Ragdoll but only half cause the other half will be a white tiger but with very light stripes. Hyung will also...pretty much be a muscle fur but not too much muscle cause that's over my limit. I'll be fixing him up soonish after I do a small change with Cloppin (cause he needs a cute Dall sheep tail sticking up in the air from his butt).
That's pretty much everything! Once I'm more financially stable, I'm going to pay FA to advertise myself to snag furs into my business and hope to do more commissions. I'll be uploading examples on my other account so that people can have a clear idea of what I can do.

karmaai's panels which I didn't mind at all cause I had a blast watching the fursuit games. Next year I'll have my own suit (hopefully), and on top of that, I'm gonna most definitely have a table and happily sharing it with my friend
springdragon (who has freaking amazing art!) and hope to be table neighbors with a few selected artists who I have lovely connections with! I'll be a lot more prepared and am looking forward to seeing which hotel the con will be moving to. Got to suit a bit with
karmaai and the rest of the gang and surprised lots of people which was probably one of the best parts. xD I am kinda sad that the con is over but glad at the same time cause I just need to scurry to save enough money for NDK and start paying bills along with food and other owed money cause being broke sucks...however! I did sell my large watercolor Okami piece and on top of that I had a fur that was highly interested in buying my three legendary dogs pieces whenever they have the money so hurray for making some profit! \o/ cause I gotta help out my room mate 
roguewolfclaw with the rent. Being a worker bee sucks. >:C I hope to eventually work from home with just one job and be that freelance artist to make enough money to pay bills and feed myself! But that'll take awhile...>>; I had so much fun at the fur con that I am VERY eager to attend to more fur cons in the future! I would love to meet more furs on top of that get to know other artists from out of state and just have a great time!
I am going to probably not attend A-Kon anymore however cause well...kinda moved on and I'm having more fun at fur cons anyways.

Missing tablet....
Posted 10 years agoDuring my move I think my tablet got lost and I looked everywhere. It is my fault that I didn't pack it properly so basically if the other tablet that has been given to me doesn't work with my laptop, all digital works will be put to a long halt. So this means I have to figure out what I gotta do for my art table at this year's RMFC cause traditional materials are expensive however I can probably get colord pencils and provide traditional badges. I fully apologize to everyone that was expecting digital works from me. However if you want a traditional piece instead by all means that's perfectly fine with me! The more examples I have the better. (:

I think after about two months (seems like ages to me), I finally picked up my tablet again and started working on stuff for RMFC! I'm also working on some personal art as well as I go along but I hope to have at least a few things to offer at my table rather then JUST badge and sketch commissions. I'll be working on a small price guide next month and put it somewhere on my side of the table...somewhere. >_>;
But here's what I'll be working on in the two weeks (or if I possibly can cause I'll be moving very soon here):
