Posted 12 years agoMy birthday was pretty cool. My mate pandra woke me up bearing gifts and cupcakes adorned with Star Wars figures. We went out to breakfast with her parents at the Black Bear diner (I love their portions). After that, we visited GameStop to browse around and shoot the shit. My dad called me and we had a nice conversation about our lives. Then we played around till our reservations at the Chart House. Very nice restaurant.

Posted 12 years agoI've had an account there for a while but never actually used it. I was about to upload something and was reading through their Submission Policy. Apparently anything you upload, you give DeviantArt full rights to alter and distribute. So I guess I won't be using them to host my stuff.

3. License To Use Artist Materials. As and when Artist Materials are uploaded to the deviantART Site(s), Artist grants to deviantART a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to do the following things during the Term:

The room is available from Thursday night to Monday morning of the con for $40 a night per person. There are a few things you should be aware of:

*Sleeping bags will be provided if you prefer the floor to sharing a bed.
*The room is on the Party Floor so there will likely be noise every night.
*I'm hosting an Otter Party on Saturday night. You have been warned!

Saw a Wild Otter

Every morning around 6am me and my mate walk along the American River before it gets too hot. For the first time, we saw a river otter! I've heard stories of them being there, but there's a lot of people who like to go rafting down that area and the otters clear out. The one I saw was headed downstream, presumably towards a place to forage for food. The river is rich in small feesh, crawdads, and frogs. Blackberries also grow along certain areas but aren't in season yet.
The otter either didn't see me trying to take a blurry picture of it, was too focused on swimming, or just didn't give a rat's ass. He's probably seen loads of rowdy rafters in much closer proximity, so I'm guessing #3.

Posted 13 years agoSometimes I go to sfw.furaffinity.net when I'm not in the mood to look at anything adult. It's also useful when I'm on FA in public areas in case someone walks by so they don't get an eye full and go "WTF? Did I just see penis nipples on a Fox Centipede?" But between you and me, hiding the adult content is also useful for going back to it later. For example, if you have a bunch of submissions in your watchlist backed up, you can go to sfw.furaffinity.net and hide all the adult ones. Then after you go through the tame submissions, all those adult submissions will still be waiting for you when you go back to the regular site :3
What's even easier is FA just added a feature where you can toggle mature content by clicking the SFW button next to "Log Out" at the top of the page. Enjoy :3

FC Otter Party is GO
Posted 13 years agoJust got my confirmation that I'm booked on the Party Floor (floor 4) in the Marriott. Room number is to be announced at the con. I've done the Otter Party on Saturday before, and that seemed to work out just because it is the big party night. But I'm kinda playing around in my head with the idea of making it Friday or Sunday. What do you guys think?
Last year had a little snag in the fact it wasn't on the party floor and got a little too loud for some people apparently trying to sleep or something. Go figure :3
Even though it's officially an "Otter Party", everybody is welcome to stop by. Refreshments and "Ottery snacks" will be provided. I believe househead will grace us with his DJ talents again. He didn't get much of a chance last time.
These parties are expensive, and donations to help us keep them going are greatly appreciated!

Too Much Reality in Your Fantasy
Posted 13 years agoIf the Furry Fandom is based on fantasy characters, then at what point do these characters cross the line into reality? What are their limits?
If you go out on a drinking hinge for example, you're going to have a massive hangover the next day and probably do some damage your liver. But does that happen to our fantasy characters? Usually not.
A problem occurs when we start acting like our superhuman counterparts. YOLO means You Only Live Once, but not by wasting your life on dangerous stunts that could shorten it.

Looking for an Artist for My Otter Party Poster
Posted 13 years agoMy last Otter Party poster kinda sucked. It was just a bunch of clip art thrown together to get the general message across. It pretty much read "Otters, Drink, Fish, and Music" although it beat the crap out of some of the other parties. So I need someone slightly more talented than me to get that message across.
My budget is No More than $100 for a full color digital poster that will get the message "Otters, Drink, Fish, and Music" across. Must include at least one otter. Preferably more.
