I figure it's been a year, maybe time to update.

I have been a crafty fucker. I should really load pics here. In no particular order, some recent projects have been. . .

Teriyaki Sauce, canned for preservation
Cranberry Sauce, canned for preservation
2 hand carved stamps of heraldry
a variety of candles in different styles
bread and butter style pickles
a HUGE cross stitch project that will take months of chipping away at. (I figure I'm about 5% complete so far)
awesome carved pumpkins
52 bottles of home brewed Mead
12 bars of hand made soap (cinnamon, clove, penny royal, black pepper)

a few more projects on the horizon. Since a lot of this is food it doesn't translate so well to pictures. Teriyaki sauce looks brown. The flavor? Jalapenos, garlic, pepper, pineapple, brown sugar, honey, ginger. Just outstanding.

The Cranberry sauce has lime, orange, ginger and clove. Amazing.

I have recently taken on a small ton of crafting projects. And by that I mean a large ton. I had to grab a composition book and a pen to write them all down. I do not want to forget anything. So now, when I have an idea, I just write it into the appropriate section of the book. I have sections for little dolls, for paintings, for clothing, and woodwork. It's getting interesting, but I like having all sorts of different things going on, it keeps my mind active.

I have had a few folks ask me about making commissions. I honestly don't think I'm that good. That being said, I made an amazingly cute THING, that I can't post pics of for a while yet. Mostly because it hasn't been given to the recipient yet. And when I post THING A, I can also post THING B, which is wonderful and also can't be posted yet.

If I ever get to the point where I can get enough interest, commissions of things and THINGS would be fun as hell. But they take away from time and lately I've been needing the time for the money, honey. Jobs. Meh.

The move has been less than ideal. Jobs that seemed like sure things, were not. One job, I interviewed with over a month ago, and have continued to interview with until now. It may take me, but that would be starting in November. I am kinda homesick and miss the folks back west, but I am glad to see friends from here in the east. Just not sure what options I really have. More pounding of the pavement even for a basic job.

Monday I went in for HIV testing because it had been a while. I tested HIV+ on the rapid test, which they then ran again and had the same result. They sent a sample off to get confirmation testing with a western blot test. This has been the scariest week of my life. Wednesday was my birthday. Today I got a call and was asked to come in for results.

HIV-. The initial test has a 3% false positive rate. I tripped it twice in a row. 3% of 3%. I am the .09%.

Get tested. I dodged a bullet but am sure this is going to change me for a while.

I was digging through old archives and I found a stack of old poems. Most of them are a decade old. They are from the time when I smoked clove cigarettes and apparently was an angsty douche. Anyway, I decided to record them as audio and post them here. Someone may like them, or be feeling the same emotions behind them.

And, to hold off the questions that may come up, remember, this is creativity, not everything written is true.

I realized this morning, sitting thinking about what I could post, that most of what I make for art can't be uploaded here. I can't upload the soft touch of a quilt, the weight on the chest of a necklace or, more currently, the effervescence of homebrew.

I should however endeavor to add things here when I am able to. So I will try to upload process and recipes, and afternotes of meads and ciders. I will try to record my song about banging foxes and upload that to entertain the masses.

We'll see. My goal is to upload every month, at least 1 thing.

Well I am here so now I'll be trying to create some art. I have the initial work laid out, but I need to keep on it to make it nice. I'll try to scan/post the process, but I have 1 piece that I am seriously working on.

We'll see.

Hello folks. I am ScruffyPuppy. I am just beginning. As in I have ideas and a sketchpad and some bits and pieces here and there.

I'll post on here as I move along, if I have anything I feel able to post. But a friend told me at AC that anyone can do art, it's just a matter of practice. We'll see, SMW, we'll see.

My major artform really is vocal arts, singing and story telling and filking on the fly. There are however so few venues on the web to truly use that. In the meantime I'll try my hand here.
