starting my new job and department today!!
Posted 12 years agowell after finally finishing the 4 month application process, physicals, physical agility tests, multiple interviews, etc. today is finally my 1st day at my new firedept!! I am now a full time operator/firefighter. so not only do i fight fire but i drive the firetrucks and operate them outside at calls. i am now at a normal firehouse with full crews and normal 24hr shifts.
i am assigned to station 33 and will find out my truck assignment today as well as get my gear, new uniforms, badge, etc.
I am now the happiest husky in the world and my childhood goal has finally been reached. i will post updates as the day continues and will post pics tonight.

Sushi Masa Meetup - Saturday June 1 - Baton Rouge 1:30

Last time we had a good sized group, and most of us like sushi... So I thought, why not make it a monthly thing!

Who: Anyone who would like to come! I DO ask that you buy a meal though, not just a drink. If you don't like sushi, they have lots of other good food on the menu. I think it's rude to sit in a restaurant and not order food :P
What: We will be eating sushi! It's all you can eat, to order! Not a buffet, they have a good sized menu you order from. All they ask is that you eat what you order :)

Other notes-No fursuits. Can't eat sushi in suit. Tails may be ok, if you want to wear one I guess it would be ok. Badges wouldn't hurt I don't think :) Be polite to the waitstaff, or I will ask you to leave.

Firefighter Down!!
Posted 12 years ago Well after being dispatched to a 2nd alarm house fire this morning i was on the 1st hose team in. The interior was fully involved. Once we suppressed the ground fire inside the residence we pulled a section of sheet rock down from the roof to get into the attic which we found was fully involved as well so we put up an attic ladder and i proceeded into the attic. fire suppression went well and we got the fire out. during salvage and overhaul of the building to make sure there was no more smoldering embers or fire i went down. i was crawling through the attic over the living room when the rafters shifted and gave way and this husky fell through the roof. i hit the sofa and coffee table........HARD. im fine but my arms and legs are bruised from impact.
I'm fine and was checked out by EMS and went back into the structure to finish overhaul. I'm just sore as can be. lucky i get off at 6am so i can get some rest before I have to go back to work at 5pm to work a festival my town is having. just felt i should let everyone know i'm ok

Posted 12 years agowell the fireworks went great for the PBR rodeo. had a great time but got to a level of tired i'd nevver been on. my boss found a few pics of my fursona on my phone on the 1st night, when i woke up there was a present on my gear! a new collar lol, my boss knows me too well lol. well we're driving back to louisiana today and we are just about done cleaning out the hotel room. i will let yall know when teh fluffy tail is back in familiar territory.
