August 2020 Update
General | Posted 5 years agoYep, I'm still doing good! I will admit to having a few rough areas, mostly in the mental area, but those are all in the past as I've been finding ways to keep myself occupied and focus on today and not what will happen tomorrow or what happened in the past. For instance, I've started my novel...again. Yeah, it's another novel as I scrapped a few already but, unlike those, I actually made some good progress here (finished the first draft of Chapter 1)! I've also been working on getting my YouTube channel rebooted to focus on Game Reviews (Just need to get a capture device and I'll be ready to rock and roll). Then, in terms of REALLY fun stuff, I've been catching up on a few games in my backlog/games I've been wanting to play again. Games like Titanfall 2, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 (mainly the Custom Zombies Mode) and Infinite Warfare, Battlefield Hardline, and whatever else I feel like playing. As for movies, surprisingly enough, I only watched one so far and, let me tell you, it was a disappointment (Film was The Devil's Rejects...gah this almost put me to sleep).
Otherwise, still doing good and strong here! I was happy I was able to go shopping for a few games last month finally, meaning I was able to get out of the house for a bit lol. But yeah, hope everyone else is still doing good and staying strong!

The Fandom Documentary - Review
General | Posted 5 years agoI remember when I first heard about this documentary I think it was last year and I recall not being that interested in it. But I was willing to give it a chance so, when it popped onto YouTube, I sat down to watch it and...yeah, it wasn't that great, to be honest. I enjoyed the whole look into the beginnings of the fandom and it was cool to see a lot of old footage, but the rest was just, I hate to say it, bad. To me, the biggest problem was the lack of a narrator and any enjoyable interviews. Yes, you can do a documentary that is solely consisting of interviews and I have watched plenty that did this idea exceptionally well as the people they interviewed were both entertaining and engaging to listen to (Examples include Never Sleep Again, Electric Boogaloo, and We're Twisted F***in' Sister), but here? While I recognized a few of the folks, they were kind of boring and pretty much droned on half the time. If the documentary had a narrator of some kind to mix things up, then I could've forgiven the dull interviews. The next issue I had was the overall cheap feeling to the whole thing and this is a bit trickier to explain. The usage of slow-motion shots and the music used, along with the editing, I dunno it seemed like something made for YouTube and not for general media release, let alone 4K media. I'm not trying to knock the creators or anyone but, for how much this was hyped and made on Kickstarter? I kind of expected a bit more polish and love, you know?
Overall, I really can't recommend this documentary. Again, the look into the history was interesting, but the rest (including the political side and some of the claims that I had to seriously question)? Truth be told, if you want a better documentary, might I recommend the YouTube show 'Down The Rabbit Hole' episode on the Furry Fandom, which to me does a much better look into the history and talks about the issues that are in the fandom a bit better.

Got a question for everyone
General | Posted 5 years agoAs the Cove Radio is closed, I've decided to move my game reviews (I've also been doing game reviews for the station as well as written reviews) to YouTube and I have a question: What are some good Capture Devices for Windows 8 for getting footage from an Xbox One (that is also affordable)? The current solution I have now is fine right now (Using the Xbox One's Capture feature then uploading the clips to OneDrive) but I would, sometime, like to upgrade to a proper capture device.
small rant time
General | Posted 5 years agoWhy is it that when I want to look up clips from Battlestar Galactica 1978 I get more clips for that f'ing reboot?! The reboot RUINED what made BSG fun in the first place and either introduced ideas that were not needed, changed elements that never needed to be changed, and made the special effects look worse than Galactica 1980?!
The Cove Radio R.I.P
General | Posted 5 years agoI'm sadden to have to announce that The Cove Radio will be shutting down on April 30th.
How am I doing?
General | Posted 5 years agoI wanted to let y'all know I'm doing OK! Been busy with my radio job and working on game reviews and my novel so I'm able to make the best of the situation! Only thing that sucks is that most of the game/movie stores are closed (meaning I can't pick up a birthday gift for my brother until they reopen) AND grocery shopping is just a pain in the rear! Other wise? Me and my family are doing A-OK!
Look, even though I've been avoiding the news of all types (I don't need it clogging my mind and affecting me like it used to), I do understand this is a scary situation we're all going through, but we will all pull through!

My Wishlist for 2019
General | Posted 6 years agoLove doing these, so here's my 2019 list! I'll see if I can make your wishes come true, too!
Step 1
Make a post in your journal containing your list of 13 holiday wishes.
The wishes can be anything at all, from simple to really big.
The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real-life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where folks could get in touch with you.
Step 2
Surf around other lists to see who has posted their list. If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true.
Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special
