Started a GoFundMe for funeral and bills, please help.

I hate to have to do this, but I started a GoFundMe to see if I can raise some money for the funeral and bills.
This is what is posted on the site:
Hello. Thanks for reading this.
I have never had to do this before, and I feel terrible that I have to ask my friends to help me, but right now I am not sure where else to turn.
For those who have not been following my story, I have been married for 12 great years to my husband, Paul.
Paul's mom has lung cancer. It is inoperable, and she has other medical issues as well.
The doctors have told us that she probably only has a couple of weeks to live. We made an emegency trip, drove 8 hours from SC to FL, not sure if we would see her alive.
She made it through that, but it is only a matter of time before the worst happens.
This is stressful enough, but we have financial issues that make the stress level even higher.
Without saying too much about the financial state of his family, we are going to help pay for the funeral. This is will be $2000.
To add to that stress, our car- a 2007 Saturn Ion with almost 170K miles on it, needs work. I am very worried about travelling to FL the way it is now, but we have may no choice, and that scares me.
One of the two back tires has uneven wear, one of the front tires is bald on the inside. It needs 4 new tires and an alignment, which I estimate will be $300-400.
Also, on our next to last trip to Florida, a rock hit our whidshield and there is a very large crack on the drivers side, which makes it more dangerous. It is close to the lower left corner so it isn't in my direct line of site, but it could get worse at any time. Safelite estimated that to be around $300.
So we are talking between $2600-2700.
We may have to take another trip down to FL at any time, that is why it is so important for us to get the car worked on as soon as possible, at least the tires and alignment. The crack can wait if it has to, even though if we happen to get pulled over we will probably get a ticket, that will be even more money.
I really hate to ask this, but this is really a hard time for both of us, and the added stress of these financial issue makes it really tough.
No matter what amount it is, we both thank you very, very much.
I would REALLY appreciate if you can spread the word. We need to get out car fixed as soon as possible, as we could be taking an emergency trip to Florida literally any minute.
Thank you all.

Doing Pay What You Want commissions to pay bills PLEASE HELP
Posted 10 years agoGuys, I really don't want to do this.
I abhor having to complain and whine about finances and beg for help.
But I really need your help.
I have some REALLY big bills coming up, and I need to raise as much money as I can to help pay them.
We are going to have to dip hard into our savings and this leaves us with not a lot of money to fall back on for other emergencies.
If you guys have been following me or my hubby, you know that his mom has a lung cancer that nothing can be done about.
She went into the hospital on Wednesday and they thought that she wasn't going to make it, so we literally threw a bunch of clothes into a bag and drove 8.5 hours down to Pensacola, FL to be here.
Thank God she is doing better now, she is out of the ICU but FAR from out of danger. She will be in the hospital for a while I am sure and then to a hospice. And she could get worse at any time. Its only a matter of time, she can only beat the reaper so many times before he wins.
That emergency trip down here already put a hit on our wallet, for gas, food (we had to mostly eat out because there was little time to cook, we were at the hospital a lot) and groceries to help his father, who is in bad health himself, since he has to do everything in the house. Plus Paul may not get paid for the time he was down here, and he pays the mortgage out of his checks.
But the trip was not the big expense.
They are:
1. We have a large crack on our windshield that has to be a total replacement. That happened on our last trip to Pensacola only a couple of months ago, when she was once again in the hospital. That is going to take about $315 to fix.
2. The back tires are out of alignment and will need to be replaced and aligned. I can temporarily put that off by switching sides on the back tires, but that doesn't fix the ultimate problem. It only buys me a little bit of time. I don't have a quote for that, but I would guess that it will be at least $200.
3. The big one is this... while down here we preemptively set up the funeral arrangements for his mom, for when the time comes, which we hope will be far down the road. We are going to pick up some of the cost, so that will be between $1500-2000.
We are talking about $2500 in bills, plus the normal bills that we always have to pay, with the chance that we might have to miss more work to come down here any time if she gets worse again.
I know there is no way on God's Green Earth that we can raise that much money, but I am really hoping that I can get at least a little bit of that back.
I am offering a Pay What You Want commission. I don't care what you want me to do, I will take most anything.
If you simply want to give a donation, that would be wonderful as well.
Please, please, I beg you, get the word out, tell as many people as you can, maybe link a journal here, tell people on Twitter and Facebook. I'd like to get as many PWWY commissions as I can to try to cushion this huge blow to our savings.
Anyone who is interested in a commission or a donation, please comment here or send me a note and I can give you my Paypal address.
I am a bit more leery of giving it out because of an incident that literally only got fixed yesterday. A person tried to scam me out of $25, but thankfully Paypal saw it my way and I didn't need to pay.
I don't care if its even a dollar, any little bit can help. Thank you all so much for reading this whole thing, and for getting the word out.

I'm sure we'll see him again soon.....
Every once in a while, life throws me a tiny little bone.
Posted 10 years agoWell, as you know, things have been not so good at Casa Del Wuff and Ott.
I have been under some stresses about work, I still have work piled up waiting for me that I haven't been able to do.
I am getting pressured to get my house in shape (it needs it, I don't begrudge my family for requesting it, but its still stressful because its one of those things where you just dunno where to start).
Before all this happened with my mother in law, they were gonna loan me some money to fix my windshield, (which ironically got a huge crack in it on our last trip to Pensacola a month or so ago) with the stipulation that I don't have to pay it back if I clean up my house.
I have been getting harassed, threatened, and scammed by a ban evading sociopath.
And of course all of that is dwarfed by the issues with my mother in law.
But..
Things have actually been looking up in the last couple of days.
I think God/karma/the flying spaghetti monster/whateveryoubelievein threw me a little bone.
First, and of course most importantly, his mom is out of the ICU. She is *FAR* from out of the woods, but she has once again beaten the reaper for now. She has a LONG way to go, and when (wow I can say when, not if, which is great) she gets out of the hospital, she will go to a rehab place before she comes home, but still that is better than what we thought would happen.
The problem is, she can get worse, much worse, at any time, so this stress really ultimately will not go away, but we have bought her more time which is always good.
And, I just looked up some information, and it looks like the person who was trying to scam me wasn't able to pull it off. It looks like I won the Paypal dispute, so I wont have to pay that person back.
That is a good thing, because we are going to have to dip DEEP into our savings to preemptively help pay for funeral costs so that won't be an issue when the inevitable happens, what we hope is a long way down the road.
Of course that means I have no idea what is going to happen about the whole fixing the windshield and cleaning the house thing, since we are going to have to take so much out of savings for this.
I am seriously considering either a GoFundMe or a donate what you want commission, but I REALLY don't think GoFundMe will work as I an not popular or well known, and after my last commission, I am a bit hesitant for that route.
There is no way to cushion this blow that our finances are going to take, so that is actually a whole NEW level of stress on me.
This means that the small nest egg (and it is small) that we have made for ourselves is REALLY gonna take a big hit. We are going to have to really tighten the belts and live frugally. It will literally take us YEARS to get this money back that we will have to use, but of course we are going to do it. There is no hesitation about that.
So, even with the little bone we were thrown, the stress is still there, perhaps even worse now.
*sigh*
EDIT: If anyone does actually want to contribute, or do a donation for a drawing, just comment here or DM me and I can give you the information.

Gonna be quiet for a while, got family issues to deal with
Posted 10 years agoSo things have been pretty stressful around here.
And on top of everything that I've had to worry about, things just got MUCH MUCH WORSE.
Right now Timber and I are in Pensacola, FL.
His mom (My mother in law) is not doing well at all. She was closing to being gone yesterday, and things seem to have stabilized a little bit, but things are very very touch and go right now.
We have no idea how long we are going to be down here, and no idea what is going to happen. We are hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.
I know not all of you guys are the praying type, but please send some prayers/good thoughts/healing thoughts/good karma/whatever down our way if you can please.
I tend to update Twitter more, but I am private there, so I will have to add you individually.
And to that one particular person who is adding undue stress in my life right now, you know who you are and why...
FUCK YOU.
I don't need that shit right now.

Well, that was pretty crappy.
Posted 10 years agoI had some line art. I did not remember where I got it from, as I found it on my external HDD while I was organizing it.
There was no watermark or signature on it, so I had no idea who has made it.
I colored it, and posted it here, and CLEARLY stated that it was not my line art.
And I STILL got attacked for posting it up with no reference as to whom it was. I stated the above information, that I had no idea where it had come from several times, but apparently it was not good enough, as I was still attacked.
I had even explained that I had used line art before and when it had a watermark or signature, I ALWAYS kept it in, but that was not good enough either and I was still attacked.
So I took it down.
The picture was nothing big, just a little head shot, and it didn't even take long to color.
But its the principle of the thing, that people don't seem to understand that I had NO idea where it was from and so I had no idea who to attribute the line art to.
Well, I hope they are happy. It is gone now.

What happened to ninjadoje?
Posted 10 years agoOkay I know this is a long shot, but I see that ninjadoje is suspended again.
Does anyone have any idea what they did to get suspended?
I have specific reasons why I am asking,
If you would rather talk privately, please DM me.

Don't mind the changes in my gallery....
Posted 10 years agoRight now I am in the middle of trying to mostly standardize the way that my art is titled, so it give a better idea of what you are going to look at.
I have gone through 3 pages worth, about 180 of the over 600 submissions, so it is going to take a while.
I will also be trying to add some older art that has been sitting on my HDD for a very long time.
After all of that, I will *shiver* try to start adding some tags, so it will be a lot easier to look through my art and search for it But that is going to take a very very long time, because I still have to figure out how I am going to tag them.
So please bear with me. this is all so that my art is easier to look through, and easier to search for, and ultimately a better, more professional FA.
I am very serious about trying to get better at my art and starting to get more commissions, and this, along with practicing my art more (of course) I hope will take strides in that direction.

Thoughts on the whole EF thing.
Posted 10 years agoI wanted to wait to post this to see how it shook out.
So now that about a day has passed, I want to put my thoughts down, Take them as they are, my thoughts.
The Issue:
So there are two different things that are going on here.
The first is that EF has a policy that includes no babyfur badges, and no items such as pacifiers in public con space.
Personally I think this is dumb, as people have pointed out there are pictures of people literally humping pool toys in public. But as others have said, this is their con, and these are their rules, and as dumb as they are, they are entitled to have them.
People complaining about the first issue led into the second, much more damning issue.
There are two prominent staff members, including the con chair himself, who have been not only badmouthing babyfurs as a whole and spreading false information- and this included using the OFFICIAL EF TWITTER to do so, but they also insulted specific people. One went as far as to tell a person to "put a diaper on his head and choke himself to death".
Now, the more vitriolic posts were made on personal Twitters, but both have in tier info that they are staff of EF, and some posts spoke as if this was the will of the con, not just their personal feelings.
And what is worse, is that the official EF Twitter said that they were going to release a statement about it. It has been 24 hours. The two CONTINUE to spew venom and vitriol and EF has said nothing.
The Reaction:
People have been understandably upset, but unfortunately as furries are wont to do, people went exactly the WRONG way doing it and just made things worse. By calling people "Nazis" that just makes people hate babyfurs more, It was about the worst thing that people could have done.. And they did it.
Some people are voting with their wallets, and I commend them for it. People who are saying that they will no longer attend EF because of this.
Will it kill the con? OF COURSE NOT. But if they see that there is a consequence to their actions, hopefully that will get the point across better than insulting people online will
The Future:
So, what will happen? Furries will find something else to bitch about and it will be forgotten, which is a dam shame, because that means the two staff members who are spewing all the hate will continue to do so and there will be no repercussions for them.
Where so I stand in all of this?
I admit that I was sucked into the argument online. Hell, I even got blocked by someone because I dared to have a difference of opinion.
I called out the people who were spewing the hatred, of course that did no good.
I am rather saddened though that babyfurs actually turned against their own on this and some actually defended the policies and the people spewing the hate.
I don't and can never understand this.
So... yeah, that is my more than 2 cents on this whole thing.
I welcome and encourage conversation about this, but all I ask is that you PLEASE keep it civil, no matter what your thoughts are on the matter.
Thank you.

Another block list, racism and color blindness (not medical)
Posted 10 years agoWow..
I am really cementing my status as the unpopular opinion ott.
I was being nothing but civil and yet I was still blocked after of course they get their last say..
So the person was saying essentially that color blindness, not the medical condition but not seeing the color of a person skin, is a bad thing. It marginalizes their culture. It is just sticking your head in the sand and ignoring racism in a passive-agressive way.
I think that is a load of crap.
I see a person not as a skin color, but as a person. I try to treat every person equally. Am I perfect about it? Of course not. There are always thoughts and actions that I regret late. I am human. That is how we are.
But I try to see a person for the type of person they are. That is not belittling or margininaixing any culture. That is treating all people and cultures equally, and isn't that really the best way to try to end racism?
I guess not.

LOL remebmering the trolls. Good times, good times...
Posted 10 years agoI was looking back through my art submissions here on FA tonight, and I came upon a piece of art with... a history.
I'm not going to link to what it is, because I don't want to start anything up again, but... it is an interesting story.
So.... last July, someone sent me a note saying that they wanted to get a commission of a couple of copyrighted cartoon characters in diapers.
I had never drawn them before, so I was game to give it a try. I believe the commission was for $15, honestly a good deal for a 2 character commission.
I had a bit of trouble drawing them as it was a totally new style to me, but I worked hard on it, and I even gave them a background for free cause I was really getting into working on it. I drew the two characters in their style instead of mine.
So I send the person the art, and.. they didn't like it. It took quite a few DMs back and forth for them to really explain WHAT it was that they didn't like about it.
So I worked on it again, and sent what I thought was a much improved picture to them. And, they didn't like it. It still took a couple of times to get what the problem was this time.
And so, I worked on it again, and gave him a third version.
Now remember, this was for a $15 piece of art, and I can't even tell you how many hours I put into it through the edits.
And they didn't like it.
So then the person demands that I take the art down. and starts writing derogatory shouts in the shout section on my FA page, and then tells me to stop deleting their shouts. Like I was gonna leave tier derogatory garbage on my page, LOL.
They gave me 15 minutes to take the art down, and kept DMing me as the time went down.
At first they were threatening to go to the admins, which I was really not worried about, so I had no intention to take the art down.
When I didn't take it down, they said that they were contacting an administrator and gave me an additional 5 minutes.
After that passed, they sent another DM and said that they were contacting an administrator to get it taken down, and was also going to contact Paypal because they quality was not what they expected.
Well I didn't give a crap about the admins, but when they threatened to take it to Paypal, my back was pretty much against the wall.
Unfortunately I had no choice, I had to acquiesce and take it down.
Throughout all of that.. they sent me 22 DMs between 10:10 PM one day and 9:58 PM the next day, 22 DMS in less than 24 hours, and 27 DMs total.
Needless to say, that left a very bad taste in my mouth for a while.
So ... fast forward to a couple of months ago. I was going through my HDD trying to find some pics I had forgotten to post and I came across that commission.
I figured that it had been long enough, so I posted only the last version of the picture up here on my FA.
So, what happens?
Some random person who I had never talked to before comes in and white knights, insulting me and telling me that I have to take the art down.
I had no idea who this person was, or what connection they had to the commissioner, so of course I laughed it off, and responded.
So then they start to insult me more, and tell me that I have 2 days to take it down.
Of course I laugh it off again. they respond to another comment there, and I respond it it, then the same day it goes from having "2 days" to take it down, to "0 days".
And of course they left a derogatory shout in the shout section of my front page here on FA that I took down rather quickly.
They posted the same derogatory the as yet another comment on the same submission, and told me that they were contacting the admins to have it taken down.
The comment was riddled with terrible spelling and they incorrectly called me a "he" twice.
So, what happened to the art, to me, and to the commentator, you ask? Well, the re-upload is still there, the admins never asked me to take it down, and the person was suspended from FA for A MONTH for harassment.
AND they got a shout on their page from Dragoneer himself telling them to NOT harass other users, LOL..
AND THE SHOUT IS STILL THERE! They never took it off! hahahahahah
I found out later that this was apparently not the first time that they had done this. That is probably why the suspension was for so long.
While the first experience was terrible and stressful, the second experience was... rather hilarious.
So, yea.... good times.. good times.

People are flipping thier shit again, this time it's Paypal.
Posted 10 years agoThis whole Paypal thing is seriously getting out of hand.
People are flipping thier shit over nothing, just like they did with the whole IMVU fiasco.
Here are a few good links to get a lot of accurate information:
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6740835/
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6740814/ (this one has 2 good links inside it)
and on inkbunny: https://inkbunny.net/journalview.php?id=181769
TL:DR on this..
PAYPAL IS NOT GOING TO FINE YOU $2500.
As long as you don't say "Hey, here's your porn" then you will be fine.
They even said that art does not count as ther "porn" that they are looking for.
All you have to do is this:
1. Artists, send an invoice, you won't get burned.
2. If its digital, put NO ADDRESS.
3. Don't mention porn.
That's it.
EDIT: LOL I got on someone's block list because I gave them a link and told them not to panic about it.
I guess people just want to flip their shit, even if there is noting to get upset about. Hahahah.

Win free art from me! Just answer a riddle- NO CHEATING!
Posted 10 years agoI am at the in-laws place in west Florida for a while, and I am glad I brought some paper and pencils and pens, cause it gets a little boring at night, so I end up drawing.
So I had an idea while I was showering this morning. I am going to give you a riddle.
As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits:
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?
The first person to respond here with the correct answer (NO CHEATING, PLEASE!!) and a safe for work ref (cubs are ok) will get a free sketch that will be like the ones I've posted today. It will probably be done tonight.
Good luck!!

I am willing to trade art for items on my Amazon Wish List!!
Posted 10 years agoMy Amazon wish list has been growing longer and longer and I never seem to be able to get what is on it.
So, I have a proposal for all you wonderful people out there.
I am willing to trade. If you buy me something on my Amazon wish list, I will draw art for you.
And I will give you more art's worth than you paid for it. Let's say you bought me a $5 book, I'd give you up to $10 worth of my art.
There are quite a few books on the list, and I am willing to take used books, as long as they are in decent shape, I would prefer used-good or better if possible.
There are some used books on my list for less than a dollar, and I will always give you at LEAST $5 worth of art, no matter how cheap the book, so there is a chance here to get some art VERY cheap!
Here is my list:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/w.....=AF7BAP4OXNPX3
I do have some that I have listed as high or highest priority, I'd love to get those first, but I will take ANYTHING on my list!!!
If you have any questions, or if you are interested in doing a trade, please comment here, or send me a DM if you would rather talk about it privately.
I look forward to drawing FOR YOU! :)

FWA wrapup, Or how I learned to stop worrying & love the bus
Posted 10 years agoSo... to call this last weekend a long weekend is the mother of all understatements.
Not only did I go to a con, but I took a bus 8 hours each way to Florida to go see one of my best friends and my daddy get married in the middle of the con. So I did car, con, taxi, bus, car, wedding, car, bus, taxi, con, car, and home.
It actually started Monday, April 6th. A friend of mine came into town for a few days. We had some puppy time which was nice, and we got to learn about Japanese rope bondage, that was in.. interesting thing.
We hung out Monday and Tuesday, and I did some last minute packing.
Wednesday, my friend, my wuff, and I met Eddie Bear and Destinii Husky at a Cracker Barrel. We had a nice dinner, then I said my goodbyes to my friend and to my wuff, and went to Eddie's house.
HIS HOUSE IS AWESOME.. He has game cabinets and pinball games, and all sorts of cool train and other stuff.
So I mostly hung out with Destinii that night and kinda got a little sleep that night on a chair (that lack of sleep will come back to haunt me later).
The next morning, I got a text from a roomie at FWA.. they don't have the room Sunday night.. I had been told before that they had.
FUCK.
So there was a mad scramble to help me find another room for Sunday night, which means that right after my trip when I get back to the hotel I will have to move my stuff. I wasn't looking forward to that, but at least I got a room.
We left for FWA Thursday about noon, stopped for a quick lunch (Mmm... Arby's gyros are pretty good) and got to the con.
It took me a while to get my room settled, that was a little stressful, but the roomies were cool. One of em was a babyfur, though we didn't talk about BF stuff sadly.
There isn't too much to talk about on Thursday and Friday... I suited a little bit.. I got to hang out with some awesome people like Lazer and Tavi and a bunch of others I know I will forget names so I wont try to name em all.
There was a Carolina furs party Thurs night. I told them to make me a drink and they did, it was blue and sweet and good. Then I went to my room for a few min, came back with a half empty diet dr pepper, told them to mix it, and got some random good drink, then they refilled the empty soda body with booze again.. So... yeah.
Thursday night I slept on an inflatable bed. It was pretty comfy for an inflatable bed. I got cold overnight and somehow despite being drunk I had the wherewithal to grab my fursuit and use it as a blanket over me. If I had been less drunk, or less tired, I may have gotten into it and been warmer, but hey, I was glad I even was able to think about it as a blanket. I kinda slept on and off that night.
Friday was a short day for me. I didn't have a headache, but my stomach wasn't feeling so hot. I am still not sure if it was the alcohol, or the anxiety about the trip I was about to take. I think it was a bit of both.
I didn't to much Friday, mostly more hanging out.
Friday night, I packed up a backpack, my camera, and my computer, and took a taxi to the Greyhound station in the seediest part of Atlanta. I boarded the bus about 9 PM and took an 8 hour overnight trip to Orlando, FL. I guess the trip was ok, it was an "express" so there were only 2 stops, unusual for Greyhound. The guy behind me looked homeless and he smelled terrible. And my headphones gave up the ghost somewhere between the hotel and the bus, so I had pretty much no music until our second stop, where I bought some bud headphones at a 24 hour gas station. But that was already about 4-5 hours into the trip, so it was too late for me to get any sleep.
I got to Orlando and a somewhat less seedy Greyhound station about 4:30 in the morning. My wonderful wonderful daddy Tigeris came to pick me up, even though it was his wedding day!! We drove about 45 min back to Lakeland, and I met his mom, her husband, and later his brothers. Of course Goliath and Skip were there, and I met two other dogs. Peanut Butter and I got along really well. :)
I got about a 2 hour nap, my first sleep in over 24 hours. Then it was wedding time. Ashley and Brexx were doing videography and AV, Armand, Noxy, and Kameron were there two, and two other furs, I think Kovu and someone else. Sorry. I am terrible with names. The rest were all family, I am guessing all Tigeris' family as Goliath is from Alabama.
Since Ashley was doing video I took it upon myself to do still photos. I took about 230 pics. I usually take 3-400 every day at Disney, for the record. :)
The wedding was awesome. Tears were shed by many. There were laughs as well. Goliath does all these nice vows. And then it is Tigeris' turn. So what does he say?
"Bitch, I love you!"
That got a good laugh. Yeah, he said more, and it was very sweet, but there were a lot of funny times.
During the ceremony, I was *SO* missing my wuff.. I was feeling so terribly lonely and I wished I could hold him close right there, But he was like 600 miles away..
After the vows, there was cake, and cheese, and meat, and more cheese, and some veggies, and some cheese, and some chips.. and I think some more cheese.
OH MY GAWD THE CHEESE.
People started to head out, and some of us helped with the cleanup. I knew the time was coming to leave, and I was already feeling down, cause I so rarely get to see my daddy, and even LESS so get to see Noxy and Boon and Kameron (it'd been several years since seeing him).
We all finally started to say our goodbyes, and I headed back on the 45 min trip to Orlando with Boon, Noxy, and Kam. We dropped Boon off at Megacon (he missed part of a con for this wedding too, hehe) and then Kam, who promised to come to MFM where we will have a 3 way sushi-off between me, him, and Tavi.
OH YES. A THREE WAY.. THIS *WILL* HAPPEN.
Anyways, I hung out with Noxy, got to lay in his giant crib, snuggling a huge Stitch plush, drinking from a sippy cup, and watching Lilo and Stitch. It was fun. Padding was had. :)
Eventually, about 10PM he took me to the bus station (after a wawa stop and a desperate search for my 3dsxl which I thought I left at his place.. I hadn't) and I boarded a bus back to Atlanta. I was supposed to board at 11:35 but I heard we didn't have a bus driver for a while and ended up leaving about 12:05.
Another 8 hour trip ensued. No smelly man behind me this time but sadly I had to share my seat with a guy who looked a little like Sam L Jackson. It was ok, but he moved around a lot so that made it harder to sleep, and by this time I had about 2 hours sleep in around 40 hours, and the 2 nights sleep before that were not full nights sleep either. I got some sleep, but it was on and off and not very good.
I got into Atlanta about 8 AM, got a taxi back to the hotel and proceeded to have to move ALL my shit from one room to another. Once again a little stress finding the roomies and such but it wasn't too bad.
I didn't do much Sunday to be honest. I was still pretty depressed about leaving Florida, and sad I was about to leave the con too. I briefly went to a cubby party Sunday night. It was fun and the people were nice, but I wasn't feeling it, so I snuck out. I feel bad but I didn't want to bring people down, they were all having a good time. Just to reiterate, it was not the party or the people. That was all good. It was me.
There was some...er.. roomie drama Sunday night. Nothing I was involved in, though I got pulled in because I was there of course. It was all good, but I admit I was a tad uncomfortable cause I didn't know anyone and didn't really know what to do or say.
Sunday night was the first night since the Tuesday before that I slept in a bed. It was nice, and I slept pretty well.
Monday I packed up, hung out with a couple more people, then we headed home.
It was SO nice to be home, and I got to hug my wuff so tight. He works 3rd shift so he had to sleep, so I had to give him a quick hug then let him get back to sleep.
One would think after all of that I would go home and take a nap.
So what do I do?
I almost immediately start to put my new computer together. It had come while I was gone. It was supposed to come the day I came back but it came early, but that is a different story LOL
Now I am trying to learn how to use Win 8.1. Not a huge fan of it but I'll get used to it I suppose.
So, that was my weekend. A lot happy, a little sad, a LOT crazy.
Not only did I go to a con, but I took a bus 8 hours each way to Florida to go see one of my best friends and my daddy get married in the middle of the con. So I did car, con, taxi, bus, car, wedding, car, bus, taxi, con, car, and home.

PLEASE stop spreading untrue rumors (FWA related)
Posted 10 years agoOne of my HUGEST pet peeves is people taking rumors that have no kernel of truth and spreading them around.
Just because a lot of people are talking about a rumor, that does not make it true at all.
I am saying this because of all the CRAZY rumors that have been spreading around about FWA.
People have been saying that it is a terrible con, that people are unhappy, that 45 cars were broken into, that fursuits were stolen,.
There was a grand total of 2 break-ins and there were no suits in those cars. There were no mass amounts of unhappy people leaving early or anything like that.
As usual with furs, things were blown WAY out of proportion.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, I BEG you all, and this isn't just for FWA or furry cons, just in general, PLEASE do not spread rumors like this. they get blown up more and more and it just turn into a mess and people are fed the wrong information.
It causes so much more harm than good.
And PLEASE spread this around. I want this message to go out to as many people as it can.

IMPORTANT- For everyone who wants to meet/hang out at FWA!!!
Posted 10 years agoHey guys.
Just a quick note for anyone who wants to meet me or my friends who want to hang out with me at FWA this weekend.
I *WILL* be there, but I will be missing for a while.
I am arriving Thursday prolly mid morning I would guess.
I will be hanging around all of Thursday, and most of Friday.
But about 8PM on Friday night, I am going to head to the Greyhound station and take an overnight bus to Orlando, then catch a ride to Lakeland to watch my daddy and one of my best friends Tigeris *FINALLY* get married.
I will hang out there, then catch a ride back to Orlando and take another overnight bus BACK to Atlanta.
I will be back about 8 AM Sunday morning and will hang out the rest of Sunday and will leave sometime Monday morning.
So.. the con will be.. er.. busy to say the least.
I know it seems weird to miss a part of a con, especially the biggest day, but I really think that I would regret it if I didn't go.
The bus ticket was only 70 bucks, and I am saving MUCH more than that in no parking since I am carpooling, and more people in our hotel room- I will sleep on an air mattress on the floor, I am person #5 in the room.
So please, hang out with me, but if I am missing for a while, don't worry. It's all good.

I NEED ADVICE SOON!! TODAY! HELP!
Posted 10 years agoI need some advice rather quickly.
My local dungeon is closing.
Tonight they are having a pot luck.
I kinda want to go, but it is 20 bucks, and I have to take a food, and I have no one to play with, so I would be sitting there watching people and maybe finding someone to talk with.
Or I can stay home and be bored until 8 pm until I have a MFM meeting online. It isn't required but I did miss last month.
Its a bit of a drive to get there, but the place is going to be closing soon which is really sad.
I'm going to the dungeon on Tuesday with a friend so that is good but it will be my last time ever seeing it, so I dunno is I wanna see it once or twice before it closes.
So.. what do you all think?

My take on this whole thing... (Sorry, haters. I'm staying)
Posted 10 years agoPersonally I am surprised that a company bought out FA.. It isn't supposed to be a money making website, and despite what people say about Dragoneer, I dont think he is making any money, I believe that he really has poured a lot of his own money into this.
That doesn't mean that I don't think there are a lot of problems with this site, there most certainly are. But this journal is not about that. I could write a book about that.
That brings me to the buyout. So what are they gonna get out of this? I'd guess a HUGE new customer base and a way to advertise to get to even more. But it seems odd, I can't imagine they think it will be profitable, and businesses are in it to make money, so I am still a little stumped at their motivation, but we may never know what it was.
I am hoping that the capital from this new merger/takeover/whateveritwas will bring some much needed capital into the site so it can be used for upgrades and hopefully that "new" version of FA that is supposed to be in production. I am not holding my breath that it will happen, but this merger puts a new spin on things, It will be interesting to see what changes it causes.
So, now the bad side...
Yesterday on FA and Twitter, people were screaming that it is the end of FA, and started to yell and scream and freak out, and leave FA like lemmings jumping off a cliff. (Yes, I know its a myth, but its still used as a metaphor.)
GUYS.. IT'S NOT THE END OF FA.
Please, go back and read that a few time until you stop hyperventilating.
Both Dragoneer *AND* IMVU have said that they are not going to make it a pay site, they are not going to use your art to sell or claim as theirs, or use it to advertise (unless it is a small screenshot of the website that has art in it, which is nothing unusual).
IT'S NOT THE END OF FA.
So just calm your tits, and continue to use FA like you always did. Nothing is going to change.
Can't wait to see the influx of people who "left" FA to come back in droves in 1-2 weeks when they see that this isn't the Titanic, the site isn't sinking, and things are like they always were.
Personally, I am taking a "wait and see" attitude, like I do with many things. I want to wait and see if this really does mean improvements for FA, if it will be just the status quo, or if the changes will be negative.
Now we wait.

The waiting game sucks. Let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos.

ASK SEAWEED!!!!
Posted 10 years agoSo, in order to get my creative juices flowing and my artwork out there for more people to hopefully enjoy. it was suggested on Twitter that I do an "ASK SEAWEED", so I am gonna try it..
How it works is, you ask Seaweed a question, like "What is your favorite color?" and I answer as Seaweed in a little sketch or drawing or such, like me drawing a picture or Seaweed holding a purple blanket (as royal or dark purple is my favorite color).
Soooo.. Get to it, people! Make me draw!
ASK SEAWEED!!
(And as a bonus since I like both the adult and cubby Seaweed, if you want, as an option you can choose which Seaweed will answer. And by adult I dont mean naughty parts, I mean grown up, you pervs!!!!) :)

Clearing the air about Twitter yesterday about YCH auctions
Posted 10 years agoI feel like I need to address an issue that came up on Twitter yesterday. The last thing that I want to do is beat a dead horse or re-bring up bad feelings, but it is very hard to express yourself in 140 characters.
For those who don't follow me on Twitter, the issue was about YCH (your character here) auctions.
I want to say this before anything else. There were insinuations and outright accusations that I was anti-artist in my tweets.
HOW IN THE WORLD is that even possible? I AM AN ARTIST!
I never, not one SINGLE SOLITARY TIME said ANYTHING negative about any artist in this situation.
Now, a little bit of back story.
There was a tweet (who it was isn't important) about YCH auctions and their prices.
Of course I couldn't keep my big mouth shut.
I made a tweet saying that the idea of YCH auctions are pretty unfair, because it ends up being what fur can throw the most money at a person to get their art. It artificially inflate prices to 2 or 3 or more times above normal commission prices.
Well, this was a pretty unpopular opinion.
People were arguing that:
1. It is supply and demand, and if people were willing to throw that much money at an artist then I shouldn't be mad because I couldn't afford it.
2. I was trying to make it sound like everyone was entitled to art just because they liked that artist.
3. Artists are underpaid anyway.
Let me take these one at a time.
First, I understand the concept of supply and demand. I made a suggestion that perhaps instead of doing YCHs, the artists could do normal commissions and as the word grew, they could charge more. Ultimately it would be good for both them and the consumers. This unfortunately was not met with any agreement.
Second, about being "entitled". I never EVER said anything that insinuated that people were entitled to anything from an artist. That makes it sound like people want something for nothing. That is not the case.
The case that I was making was that furs, not all but some, can tend to have more money than sense, and sometimes they dont even have the money, and some furs spend money that they don't have. When YCH auctions go that high, furs can be so desperate to win the auction that they *MAY* spend more money than they can afford. By having things like buyouts, that can be greatly lessened. (more on that in the last point).
Is having a buyout the ultimate answer? No, I don't think so. But until people stop buying into YCH auctions, it is the best that I can think of as a compromise.
The last point was that artists are underpaid. That is obvious. I agree with that 100%. But a few artists making a lot of money on a few YCH auctions is not the right way to get all artists paid more money. In fact I think it does the opposite. If people pay one artist a lot of money, they won't have money to pay for others.
I am glad that this lets artists earn a lot of money. I would never ever begrudge an artist money. Hell, I am an artist myself but I have gotten art from dozens of artists for various reasons, mostly I like their styles.
This being said, one way to fight the explosion of YCH prices is to put a buyout price. Some artists do, but most do not. It lets people know hey, this is the most you will have to spend and it gives them a better idea of if they want to make a bid and if so how much.
Of course the argument was made to this that it will limit what the artist will make, and I understand this, but the buyout price can be what the artist feels it would normally sell for, or perhaps a little more. I believe that it a pretty decent compromise.
Sorry this was so long winded, but I REALLY felt like I needed to get my thoughts more collected and out there.
I would like to hear what people have to say, but I beg, you PLEASE, whether you agree or disagree with me or someone who responds to me, PLEASE keep it civil. If not I will remove comments and if it keeps happening I may have to remove the whole entry, and I REALLY don't want to have to do that.
Thank you.
