Turned 31 today. Whoo! Now I am officially over the 'hump', and am in the area where having a mid-life crisis is more socially acceptable.

...though I'd say mine's closer to an 'ongoing crisis'. :P

I decided that whenever I make more stuff for that library of AI pieces rather than make a new journal and spam you guys with them like once a week, I'm gonna update the journal itself so at the top it'll say the last time it has been updated. If you're interested in it at all be sure to keep an eye on that top date to see if I added anything new to it! It's currently been updated with 3 more pieces of amythyst and 5 more of Katrina so if you like those two you should make sure you don't miss out. :3

Not sure how interested any of you here would be in watching, but I do steam on Twitch from time to time! No particular game that I stream, it's just kinda whatever I am doing at the moment when I remember that it takes very little effort to stream it rather than just play it in silence. Though I will admit, it's likely to be an old game, or League of Legends, or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GAMMA over most other things, but that doesn't mean it won't be something else either. I guess you just gotta tune in to see! :P

A bit of a side note though, I would probably stream more often if I actually had people in the chat when I did. Once upon a time I had 7-10 people in my stream on average and it was a fun time. Life got in the way, lost my PC for a while, and by the time I got it back I had lost all of my momentum. Now it's sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy because I have little desire to stream since people don't watch and there's nothing for people to watch if I don't stream! So... uh... I dunno. Stop by some time and see if it interests you, I guess?

I turned 30 today! \o/

Now I am morally and legally ibligated to begin working on my mid-life crisis. I don't have the money to buy a sports car, so I will probably just engage in some existential spiraling instead! :D

I want to preface this journal by saying that the visual aspect of the site update is pretty good, though it is following the 'minimalism' trend little by little so make of that what you will.

That being said, I feel like they missed the opportunity to deal with quite a few issues that users have had for a while. Such as;

• Rampant lack of tags by uploaders (Such as perhaps requiring a certain number of tags to finish the upload, so much stuff uploaded has no tags at all!) I would also like there to be a proper system of accepted tags like e621 does where certain tags get automatically funneled into a proper blanket tag so that you don't have to worry that you told your search to ignore the tag 'fart' but you also have to worry about brap, brapping, braps, farts, farting, stinky, gas, gassy, etc... so many tags for one thing you don't want to see...
• Poor division of upload categories/Users uploading to incorrect categories. Far too often do I see uploads in an area that barely exists within the art while another part has a much larger emphasis in the picture and that category seems to be ignored. Maybe implement a user-based ticket system where you can point out an upload and explain why you think it belongs somewhere else and a mod can review it?
• Inefficient/Underdeveloped search system. It's very hard to search for multiple terms at once without clogging the search bar with a TON of code and it feels like sometimes it just ignores the - symbol which is used to denote a term you do NOT want to appear in your searches. I cannot tell you how many times I click on images that disgust me just so I can see what the person used as a tag for it so I can include it in my searches in the future with a - to try and avoid it. Having to point out 20 separate tags for one single kink is kinda silly.
• Missed opportunity to create a system where an uploader can type in the username of the artist when uploading a piece that causes favorites on that piece to be shared between the two profiles' statistics because a lot of people don't want to favorite both the artist's upload AND the user's upload as well so it ends up as either one or the other. Maybe something similar to the parent/sibling system from e621 that connects counted favorites? This could also include the ability to give the artist shinies directly through a user's upload. I dunno.

Probably a lot of other stuff that people could come up with that they could make/do/change that would vastly increase the user friendliness of the site. Lemme know what your ideas are.

This is kinda just gonna be a thought dump so I'm sorry if it looks a little rambly. :P

•Why is there so much vore on FA? Like, so much vore. It's easily one of the top kinks on this site, if not THE top. I think it contests with fat and diaper, I dunno. /shrug

•Why are there so many crappy Duke Nukem games? I played 64/3D and Zero Hour as a kid and they were fantastic, but then you have like Land of the Babes and Time to Kill and -ugh- Forever and they just... blegh. Duke is too awesome to have crappy games like that. :c

•Why does cilantro taste like soap to some people, and why do some of the people it tastes like soap to enjoy it? :thonk:

•Why do some people find hyper anus (donut) hot but hyper dick/balls/etc gross? I know this one is subjective but... the way I see it, one is very large reproductive organs which taps into the 'dang wish my dick was bigger' thing a lot of people have. The other looks... like a clinical issue that needs at the very least a topical cream. xwx; Maybe I'm just dumb. I dunno. Donut just ain't my thang.

•Why is Jesus white in every catholic church's paintings? Mans was middle eastern. They're far from fair-skinned.

•Why do some people (like myself) have the ability to learn some things extremely quickly to the point of near-proficiency but other things they literally cannot learn at all, to any degree? Like, I'm curious what needs to happen in the brain for it to go 'this will literally never be a skill you can do, stop trying'. For me it's art, playing the piano/guitar, anything above mid-level precision (FPS/TPS, RTS, art again, etc) regardless of how much time and effort I dump into them. I literally have all day every day to practice, and I never get any better. In fact I feel like I'm getting WORSE at some of them than I was before. Important note: I do look up guides, talk to people who do them at a high skill level, change my approaches, etc, nothing changes. :c I wish I could draw at even a entry-level grade because there's so many ideas in my head I wanna get out and I have zero money to commission them. (Yikes that one got a little ranty.)

•Why do kids love the cinnamony sweet taste of cinnamon toast crunch?
